Fall Ball
For a moment it felt like before, for a moment all that had happened in the last few months was forgotten and Haley knew that the two of them could make it. She returned the squeeze and smiled at Simon too. She felt safe with him, as she always had and judged herself for closing herself off to him for so long, but she didn't want to worry about that tonight.
She started to laugh at his compliment and looked down at her dress. She loved green, but this time she needed a little change. "Thank you." She said sheepishly and looked down her dress again.
"I'm glad you didn't really think I wouldn't come." Haley said honestly, "There's no way I'd let a dance with Simon Ezra Kincaid go to waste." She continued to laugh and as they continued to walk, she lightly bumped him with her shoulder against his. At that moment she would have liked to apologise for all her behaviour for the next half hour, but she didn't want to drag the mood down with it. She gently stroked the back of Simon's hand with her thumb, hoping he would understand what she was trying to say wordlessly. No matter what would be between them, she would never not care about him and she would never stab him in the back.
Haley nodded at the information about Emily, not sure what to say, and meanwhile kept an eye out for her dress. "That's nice." As she continued to look, she recognised some familiar faces. At the entrance she could see Cash and as much as she would have liked to greet her Slytherin friend, they looked like they were engaged in a conversation that Haley didn't want to disturb. Haley guessed that the boy, who she didn't know and was probably from one of the other schools, was them date. The two were colour matched and Haley couldn't help but smile.
Her eyes wandered further and met none other than umbrella boy. Haley couldn't help but shake her head and roll her eyes at the thought of all the times she had met him. But at the same time she had a big smile on her lips. How she would love to have a pair of binoculars right now, sneak up behind him with them and hold them up to him with the comment, "In case you want to go bird watching." Haley couldn't help but giggle at the thought.
Her eyes kept wandering and while she found a few more familiar faces here and there, she found no Emily. "Do you see her?" she asked now turning to Simon. "Do you think she's gone?" she asked a little more worried now, as there was obviously something wrong with her. Haley shouldn't have gone dancing with Simon, rather she should have urged Simon to look after his friend. Immediately the guilty conscience arose in her and she looked uncertainly at Simon, not knowing what to do now.

Quinn had arrived at the dance with the always lovely and excellent Rosie Parker. Out of nervous habit he had gone and ran his hands not just through his beard but also his beard as well. So much had been happening at the ball but Quinn couldn't be bothered to deal with it. To be honest he just came here with a good friend to enjoy himself, and if it could be helped, Quinn wouldn't need to break up any sort of mess.
The past balls had made him very jaded when it came to these things though he would never outwardly admit it. Instead he just kneeled down next to Rosie so he was bit easier to talk too and smirked. "Well well, looks like it's going to be an interesting ball as always Ro? What should we do hmmm? I'm hoping not to get clocked again this year ya know?" Although he was laughing warmly, he was internally very annoyed by the possible prospect.
At the moment all he could do was try and be his funny self and just enjoy the time at the ball. Chill, vibe, and just be a kid. Hopefully he could at least have that sort of reprieve from the usual drama in his life, and that was before one considered how bad he was missing Nico.

The performance was finished. Della had a surge of confidence as the crowd of students applauded the choir. She had managed to cast her spell at the appropriate time, and she didn't even feel her nerves in the moment.interacting: @Hui Ming
Those nerves came flooding back as the choir dispersed, taking off their robes, revealing their ball outfits. Della did the same, trying to pull her dress down further. She took her mask out of her robe and placed it over her eyes. She knew that her date would have no trouble recognizing her, due to her height and hair color.
As Della began to slowly look through the crowd, she became slowly aware of some noises outside. She decided to ignore them—either out of self-preservation or tuning out the general chaos that comes with being in a magical school.
She spotted Ming. He was wearing a clean black suit and spooky bird skull mask. It reminded Della vaguely of a "plague" doctor she had seen on a television show. She knew it was Ming because of his rod-straight posture and confident aura. She was relieved that he was waiting for her as they agreed. So far, this date wasn't a prank.
"Hi, Ming." She gave a small smile beneath her mask.

He was wearing blue. Lucia's romantic mess of a brain picked up on it instantly. They were matching. Accidentally, of course, and Lucia's dress was far more silvery than Ye-jun's fancy suit, but still. If this had been a book, Lucia knew exactly what trope she would place her and Ye-jun in. 'Friends To Lovers'. Except that, thank Merlin, life was not a book, and Lucia was (for once) glad about that. She had absolutely no interest in going out with Ye-jun, or anything like that. She wanted a nice night dancing with a friend - or, well, the family of a friend. Lucia just hoped that Ye-jun took after his cousin Eun-ji when it came to dancing, because it would be a little disappointing if he turned out to lose his apparently natural co-ordination on the dance floor.
The moment she thought about dancing, Lucia's mind flitted to her usual dance partner, Eun-ji herself. She was a brilliant dancer, and had been teaching Lucia to refine her techniques and actually dance proper dances, rather than just following her instinct, for quite a while now. It was doing Lucia a world of good, and it was fun too. For a moment, Lucia wondered why this awkwardness in her hadn't been present when she had attended the Blossomball with Eun-ji in their second year. Well, maybe it was because she knew Eun-ji better. Maybe it was just because Eun-ji was a girl. After all, Eun-ji was straight, or so she assumed. As was Lucia. Or so she assumed.
Lucia's nerves were pretty much at their peak as she blurted out her question to Ye-jun, but her cheeks cooled as he answered. "Yes! Obviously. Merlin. Um, I just, uh, wanted to make sure we didn't... misunderstand each other." Okay, Lucia was doing terribly right now. She closed her eyes for a moment - just a tiny, barely noticeable moment - and forced her breathing to slow down. Her back to straighten. Her feet to uncross themselves. Then she smiled at Ye-jun, hearing an echo of her mother Ebony's voice in her head. Chin up. Back straight. Remember who you are. It was a phrase which she'd repeated a whole lot over the summer, when she'd practically speedran Lucia through a masterclass in 'How To Fake It Till You Make It'. Essentially, acting, which Lucia was becoming both better and worse at at the same time as she found herself struggling more and more to keep acts up and keep secrets from her closest friends. "Me too, really," she admitted, more calm now, in response to Ye-jun's mention that he would be dateless without Eun-ji introducing them. "You know how Eun-ji and I went together to the last ball?" Lucia had mentioned that when they'd met, right? Yeah. She had, she remembered now. "I was sort of expecting we'd do that this time. But she has a date." Lucia gave Ye-Jun a sideways smile, wondering how Eun-ji and her presumably romantic date were getting on. "A date." The Hufflepuff considered attempting to raise her eyebrows, but she'd recently decided that she looked weird when she did that.
Lucia pushed flustered thoughts from her head and calmly took Ye-jun's arm when he offered it, feeling a little as though she'd put on a mask. Together, they walked down to the Quidditch pitch, upon which had apparently been erected a giant tent. "This is different," she mused to Ye-Jun. "We've had the ballroom, we've had open air, but we've not had a tent before." Her gaze flickered upwards to the sky and she frowned a little. "Well, I gue- suppose we just hope it's waterproof." Lucia had subconsciously, reverted to the language which Briar called 'English pureblood formal'. Well, now she'd just have to create some sort of hybrid between this and her regular speech. After all, you couldn't really get to know someone while talking formally. Formal speech seemed to be designed to hide as much as the person speaking as possible - which was probably the reason why Ebony encouraged her to use it so often.
After a moment, the frog choir began to sing and Lucia listened happily, munching on some sweet treat which she'd picked up from one of the tables. They sang two songs, both of which chilled Lucia's blood a little as dhe studiously ignored @Rose Moon and watched the other performers instead. But then her eyes caught on- was that @Henry Knight? But- but Henry shouldn't be here! He should be with Alexa! They were supposed to be having a romantic evening stargazing together!
"Dance?" Lucia murmured to Ye-jun once the frog choir had finished their performance, needing some time to think. If Ye-jun agreed, she would step onto the dance floor and follow his lead to whatever dance he decided on, until we catch up with everyone else because my replies are too slow the music came to a pause.
Lucia looked around. Henry had gone, but his cat was still here. With... Rose? "Merlin help me," Lucia muttered under her breath, stepping back out of the dance. "Ye-jun, I... need to go... talk to someone." And, steeling her nerves - this was for @Alexa Mackenzie's sake, after all! - Lucia made her way towards the lying sore looser that was Miss Rose Moon. Then she glanced back. "Could you... come with me? For... moral support?" Lucia nodded her head towards Rose. "We don't... get on. But my best friend's boyfriend is supposed to be on a date with her right now, and instead he's here, and Rose has his cat." Was that a good enough explanation?
When she got closer, hopefully accompanied by Ye-jun, Lucia realised that Rose wasn't alone. She was being spoken to by some random boy Lucia hadn't ever seen before [@Lindsey Springhall as Maxi], who was practically tripping over himself to get any words out in front of her. Lucia nearly rolled her eyes. Rose was pretty, annoyingly so, but not that pretty. "Rose." Oh great, now she'd done it. No time to back down now. "Look, I know you don't like me and I don't like you, but listen to me for a moment." This sentence was said so quickly that it was practically one word. "Where'd Henry go?" Assuming that Rose hadn't hexed her on sight, Lucia continued. "He was supposed to be with Alexa, and then I realise he's here, and you've got Loki, and please tell me he went off to find Alexa because if he's abandoned her I'll- I'll- I'll pull out his- his heart- and I'll- I'll set it on fire." Lucia winced at the thought. She wouldn't actually set Henry's heart on fire. For one thing, Henry was nice, and for another, Alexa would never forgive her. But she would be very angry at him, that was for sure.

Fall Ball
@Gabriella HaworthThe venue was lovely enough, Cade decided, but that didn't particularly mean that the Ravenclaw was having a good time. For the moment he'd entered he spotted the frog choir and eased into a mildly amused aura that curdled considerably when he spotted Pericles dressed akin a muggle Halloween cartoon. But that was the only real highlight of the night. And following that Cade had bumped into his good study buddy, Caspian. It was an awkward exchange because Cade had told Cass that he would be dead before being caught at the Fall Ball. Thankfully it seemed Cass did not recognize Cade. Thanks to his owl mask his identity remained uncompromised. But Cade made sure to steer clear of Caspian anyway, which inevitably pinned him to the food table.
At first, it wasn't so bad, Cade had a clear view of everything going on, seeing his fellow peers mingle and laugh. But after a while, he grew hot and a little hungry, both of which meant that he would eventually have to retire the mask. So giving the room yet another once over, the young wizard removed his disguise. A little paranoid that he should be caught, Cade reigned himself further in the corner beside a taller decorative plant. And would nod amiably at anyone who passed with curious glances. This isn't working... maybe I should just go back to my dormitory... The reluctant thought entered his mind and circled there.
But before Cade could accept or deny it, his throat dried as a familiar Ravenclaw flitted in his direction. Wait... Not his the table! She was dressed in a beautiful evening gown, champagne and blue elegantly decorated with embroidered filigree. Cade suddenly felt even more subconscious of himself. He wished that he could sink through the floor of the tent. Why now? Why today? He did not know her name, but she was all he could think about since he first laid eyes on her in September. Cade could feel his heart smoldering within his ribs as his feet took him forward. Wait... Forward?! Eyes widening he realized he was standing across the table from her watching her look wistfully towards the dancers. Cade would curse his body for breathing at that moment. His ears turned slightly pinker as he lowered his dark eyes down to the horderves.
"Do you like to dance?" His voice betrayed him, sounding more confident and blasé than he internally felt. Privately, the young wizard felt his lungs clench when she took notice of him. Did he just do that? Actually talk to her? What was he doing? Trying to hide his nerves, Cade would pick a few chocolates from the spread, depositing them carefully into his pockets. After he finished embarrassing himself, he planned to high-tail back to Ravenclaw tower and stuff his face in the common room. Perhaps even weep under his bedsheets.
But this wasn't the time for such thoughts. Now that he had the girl's attention he had to find an easier way to escape it. Why was it so easy to insert himself into more trouble than planned. Cade wished Orla was here, the young Hufflepuff would have reminded him of his place and probably would have hit him before he had the chance to do anything stupid. Unfortunately, he had done just that. And there was no foreseeable way out of this encounter.
"Sorry, didn't mean to disturb you. I just... noticed." Cade would attempt to expel himself, but his eyes caught a glint of light hanging on her neck. What a peculiar necklace... Quickly his eyes flitted away, met the distant dancers, and remained there. He was quite aware of her gaze sizing him up and inwardly the wizard tried to assess himself. Was he sweating? Is his hair disheveled? There wasn't any chocolate on his face was there? With every passing second, Cade buried himself deeper and deeper into his own angst.

Roleplaying as Lee Ye-jun from Beauxbatons – Encyclopedia
Violet in English, Red in Korean and Blue in FrenchYe-jun shook his head. "No need to worry. It seems to me that we are in perfect understanding." He didn't want a date either. Perhaps next year, this time, he was far too overwhelmed by family matters. "Oh yes, I've heard," the boy nodded as he was leading Lucia towards the big tent. "Eun-ji told me she had a wonderful time and I believe her. She wouldn't have suggested we go together otherwise." His cousin was not someone to arrange something like this, knowing the two wouldn't have a good time. The Hufflepuff wasn't just informing him however. She seemed genuinely puzzled by the fact that her friend found an actual date this time. "Well if you are surprised, imagine how I felt when I heard about it. I haven't seen her since she was seven and suddenly she's got a date?" He shook his head once again but it was obvious he was mostly amused. It was just hard to get used to this grown up version of his childhood partner in crime. "Although if I understand correctly then this Aaron of hers is just a friend too. He was apparently tasked to find himself a date so he and his friend could have a double date? I'm not sure about the specifics. She said I didn't need to know everything since we never met anyway and I agree with her. It's none of my business as long as he treats her well." Ye-jun would make it his business if the boy didn't, that much was probably clear from his voice alone.
"Oh.. I'm sure it is." The Beauxbatons student smiled as they approached the tent. This was a wizarding world. Surely, the professors made sure their students wouldn't get soaked by rain on such big occasion. And well if it wasn't...at least they made sure it looked nice. Ye-jun definitely appreciated the aesthetics. And the frog choir was simply magnificent. Growing up in a muggle family, he recognized both of the songs they chose. It fit the theme nicely and it was well executed. Such opinion was obviously shared among others, considering the overwhelming ovation that followed their performance. Well deserved.
"Dance?" His focus once again shifted to his partner for the evening. "But of course. That's what balls are for after all." He accepted immediately and offered his arm to lead her to the dance floor. Eun-ji adored dancing since she was a toddler so he could only imagine how great of a partner she was to Lucia. Ye-jun wouldn't necessarily say it was his hobby but he liked dancing too. His movement would probably be somewhat less complex compared to his cousin, who liked to explore and experiment but he attended numerous balls in his life thanks to his mother's social circles. He knew what he was doing and was confident in his skill, which showed in his ability to lead. That might have been something he was better at than Eun-ji was. She was probably a decent lead thanks to her technical knowledge but it would have still felt different to dance with someone who was taught to lead his whole life. "You are a wonderful dancer." The boy praised Lucia. Because she was. The waltz was a joy to do when you had an excellent partner. So far, it was a rather nice evening...Then the music had stopped.
"Would you..." he wanted to ask whether she wanted to keep dancing or if she perhaps needed a drink. Before he could finish the thought however, his date got distracted by something else. "Oh... " Ye-jun raised his eyebrows upon hearing her words. Leave? Well...that was odd. They haven't been here for that long and she already wanted to ditch him? Although, considering her tone it did sound important. Thankfully, he was not easily offended and liked to know his facts before passing a judgement on someone. If she needed to deal with something urgently, who was he to stop her? "Could you... come with me? For... moral support?" Now that was even more unexpected. It seemed that the situation she was rushing in would be rather unpleasant then. Usually, Ye-jun would leave at that if she were a stranger. He didn’t like to get involved in other people’s fights. He’d lived through plenty of his own already. Still, Lucia was Eun-ji’s friend and she promised her she’s be in a good hands with him so the boy couldn’t bring himself to refuse. "Alright…" He agreed somewhat hesitantly. Not that he was scared…just confused. Even as he was listening to her explanation, he still felt a bit lost.
Speak of the devil. Ye-jun noticed his cousin walking towards the dancefloor as they were leaving it. It appeared that they narrowly missed each other and she failed to notice him, too busy talking to her company. Ah…so this is Aaron. He squinted at the boy. Their outfits complimented each other and his cousin even wore a corsage. That was a good sign. He looks friendly too. Ye-jun decided. It was nevertheless just an initial assessment. He would have to actually talk to the boy to make up his mind about him. Unfortunately, this was not the time for that as he was apparently being led to battle. Let’s hope things get sorted out calmly. He admired the Hufflepuff’s intentions. Protecting your friends was important but what if she just misunderstood the situation somehow? It was honestly hard to tell. The wizard didn’t really know either of the girls but he knew the boy accompanying this…Rose was it? He was his classmate from school. "Bonsoir Evening, Maxi." There was no way for him to tell who was in the wrong here, which made him nervous though one wouldn’t be able to tell from his expression. That one remained as confident as always. "Evening," he greeted Rose as well but otherwise let Lucia to do the talking. It was not his place to intervene.

Kels was first greeted by the smooth-talking Orion, commending his looks. "Yeh, I smells good too." Kels would smile brightly, clearly proud. He had been sure to shower, and even used cologne. The shampoo said it smelled like argan oil, which was oil from a tree that people dipped bread in. It made him want bread. Nigel mentioned the penguin suits, saying it helped that he didn't have to pick his clothing, which would get a big laugh and an enduring smile from the nurse.
As Orion continued, he mentioned the possibility of asking Nigel to dance, before the crew was interrupted by the medical emergency. Once Kels got the finger wrapped up, Rion continued to coddle her. Hey, what happened to dancing? A kid with a broken finger was hardly anything to write home about, but Kels could acknowledge that the professors he was standing around with didn't see breaks and fractures every day like he did. Now if it was a huge bite, that would be something big! Kids broke their fingers all the time though, they were a rowdy crowd.
Instead, Nigel stepped in to make a full incident report. Kels whined like a bored kid, raising his hands to the air. "Aww, come oooon." He'd move in front of the two kids, now waving his hands to get Nigel's attention. "Listen to l'Frenchie. We should be dancin', not workin'."
Kels would turn to the kids, eyebrows raised as if asking for their support. "Yer both fine, right?"

“Exactly what he said, Professor. But if you’d like a more detailed story, I could tell you from A to Z.” If no one would stop the girl from spilling the beans, It would be unfortunate for the three young men to be stuck in a situation called ‘storytime with Aurora’, though, they had to wait until her finger is back to normal. You can’t fix what’s broken, they said. It must be a muggle thing, because what the school nurse just did right in front of her eyes was quite the contrary. With a flick of a wand, a bandage looking thing wrapped itself around her broken finger and mend it as if it was the easiest thing. The pain was gone, tears were wiped, thanks to the Honeydukes CEO and the one with a gap between his teeth.
She cleared her throat, as if she was about to deliver an important inspiring speech that would move people’s hearts. Hopefully no one would have to suffer from brain cell destruction afterwards. “So I was getting ready at the Ravenclaw tower and I was feeling very nervous about this whole date situation because I had never been in a proper one and with the one that I actually like, so, you know how that feels, I was nauseous, but happy, and just all over the place-“ One hand moved around to make a better visualization for the audience. With a pace faster than the speed of light, it almost sounded like the girl rapped an entire song in just one breath, without a pause. “-then I put on my dress, brushed my hair, tucked my cat to bed, and when I walked out of the common room, he was there, HIM! Then he gave me a flower, we held hands, I was so happy, then we talked, then a guy with an american accent intervened and he was like-“ Now, time for her to show off her voice and accent changes ability, though, she did it in a really dramatic deep voice with an exaggerated southern accent and a smug expression. She leaned back, looking at the DADA professor up and down, bit her bottom lip and touched her chin with her now healed fingers. “-‘heeeeyyy ssssupppp? You look pretty, but your date is ew!’-“ She did a whole drama performance by herself, if no one would give her a standing ovation, their senses in performing arts were probably flawed because her acting was incredibly spot on. She would go back and forth between the flirty boy role to her original voice with ease like a natural. “And I was like, NO! He’s cute! Then he was like your shoes are ugly, my suit is worth more than your entire childhood! And I was like WHAT? And Nick was like PU-“ Almost busted. Throwing Nicholas under the bus would never happen, at least not intentionally. Aurora is a loyal and honest person, if there would be a day where someone’s secrets were out of her mouth, it must be an accidental situation. Being a Ravenclaw and all, she could be a quick thinker even though most of the time it didn’t happen, she combined the two words together and hoped for the best. “-PWHAT? Then he was like OWL COME HERE! Then the owl was like SWOOSH! Then you know the rest.” And that was her rap single debut, ‘Owl My God, My finger’s gone!’ available on spotify.
After all of that storytelling energy she used, Aurora was looking as energetic as ever. It showed through her big smile and the never ending gratification. “Thank You so much! You are all like the Avengers but the professor's version! I’d love to give you all some gifts!” She pulled her dress zipper down, the one near her thigh, it could be seen that she had a bag underneath it with lots of things (and also a black shorts smh). She could be the Hogwarts version of doraemon. Not many people would use their handkerchief to wipe someone else’s tears, plus one point as well as a small spray bottle would be given to the professor with nice hair. “Here’s a travel size bug spray for you professor Honeydukes, did you know there are giant spiders and centipedes lurking everywhere? This might come in handy, maybe.” The crucial role that saved her finger from possibly getting amputated was the choir conductor. It was a magical plant, but without any soils, might look a bit scrunched due to the size of the bag. “And this is a dittany for you Professor bandaids, I know it has healing properties but I have no idea how to use it outside of potion.”
The next gift was a bit hard to give away, considering the astronomy guy did not really do anything to make her feel better. But he was there, existing, she didn’t want to cause any jealousy between the four adults because two got cool stuff while the other didn’t. “And a chocolate bar for you Professor astronaut, it’s just an ordinary muggle milk chocolate bar without nuts and I hope you’re not lactose intolerant. And for you professor flannel-“ This time, Aurora was seriously contemplating on what to give. Yes, she still had two pepper sprays, but it would cause them to raid her dorm immediately. A boomerang, on the other hand, might be useful for future fights because she knew for sure there would be another round, and she only had one dittany left for Nicholas if something bad would fall on his head. “-I have nothing else, you could share the chocolate bar with professor Astronaut, I’m sorry.” She would give him a guilty smile, hoping it wouldn’t end her up in detention. There was something else she needed to tell them, but what? She was so sure there was another chaos back in the festival outside the owl attack. Was it an actual fight or just a natural thing?

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.Lani thought it was cool that he and his parents got to travel to a bunch of places. And his grandmother seemed like a nice woman, caring about nature and magical creatures. He had already told her a bit about his connection to the outdoors through letters, but she loved the way he explained it in person. It made her think a bit more about the impact humans had on the environment.
It surprised her when he asked for a dance, his eyes looking right back at hers. She blushed a bit but then realized that he may be trying to get that reaction from her, so she cleared her throat and put on her cute smile. "Of course!" Though the dance floor was a bit crowded, the pair managed to find space.
She put one hand on his shoulder and another in his hand. Lani's grandmother had taught her multiple ballroom dances, including her favorite, the waltz. Though she hadn't mastered it yet, she learned it well enough to put it into action. "Okay Miles, do you know how to waltz? Or at least some of the basic steps?" She stepped up with her left foot and to the side with her right. "Just follow my steps, okay? It's pretty easy to learn."
Anyway, tonight wasn't about how good they danced, it was to have fun. And so far, the night had been fun. "I was honestly really nervous to meet you." When Aaron looked up from his feet at her, Eun-ji seemed to be genuinely enjoying herself here. It made sense, considering the dance floor is where she shined. But the fact that she didn't seem upset by his very beginner dance level was a relief. "Thanks," Aaron said, his smile turning from a joke to more genuine at her compliment. He had practiced a lot for this moment, and though he was still pretty sure he was bound to mess up at some point in the near future, her recognition meant a lot to the Hufflepuff.Regular Text - English | Bolded Text - Korean
Interacting: @Eun-ji Lee Hunt
Mentioning: others on the dance floor
Aaron very narrowly dodged another dancing couple by changing their movement, and he cast another look at his feet. More brief this time though, trying to project confidence by looking back up at Eun-ji a few seconds later. She spoke of getting her feet stepped on, and he offered a slightly nervous smile. He recalled his practice session with Greta had involved a tiny bit of that, but he was determined not to repeat that mistake. Aaron relaxed a bit when Eun-ji chuckled about her own beginnings with dance. It was hard to imagine her stepping on people's toes, but she was right in saying that everyone started somewhere.
They kept dancing for a bit, talking and chatting about a couple different topics. Aaron shared about how a recent owl from home revealed that his little sister was taking a dance class, too, but his mom thought it was just a passing fancy. He also talked to Eun-ji a bit about a History of Magic essay they had due soon - history was one of the few subjects Aaron actually excelled in, because of his memory for names, dates and faces. It was really nice just to chat about random things and the dancing part was becoming much more relaxed as they talked. Aaron kept glancing down at his feet from time-to-time, but he didn't step on her feet once, and that was a real accomplishment for him.
Suddenly a word cropped up in their conversation that reminded Aaron of an earlier question he had. "Hey, so what were you saying earlier about your performance over the summer? About the light exploding and your aunt?" he asked, curiosity laced in his voice. He was just hoping to ease the feeling of weirdness he had when she first brought it up. He felt like maybe he had misinterpreted it, so asking now would put his mind at ease.
