The game began much as her own earlier that day had. Both teams opened quite aggressively from the starting whistle, with most of the team focusing on an offensive strategic play focus-firing the opposing seekers and beaters and ultimately ignoring the quaffle. Evelynn couldn't blame them. It had become historically clear that the beaters in the games held a pivotal role and were often more danger in the long run. A game couldn't be won without the snitch, and if your own seeker was felled before they could secure that golden ball, then it was all for naught. Thus, taking down those opposing players most likely to eliminate your seeker was often the priority.

With mechanical pencil and journal in hand, Evelynn had settled comfortably onto a bench next to the Headliner secretary. Eyes fixed forward and her wand-umbrella held awkwardly in her non-dominant hand, competing with the journal for grip, she followed the game with rapt attention. It was clear from the start that Ravenclaw had worked wonders to improve their standing. Their performance in the previous year had been absolutely dismal. Embarrassingly so. But there was little to be done about it. They'd experienced some incredibly dire luck with their roster and had fought valiantly despite that.

With improved numbers and a steadier group of players, Evelynn was more than a little nervous to see just how difficult it would be to face them again this year. Especially given how they fared against Slytherin already so far this match. While they might have sacrificed twenty points early into the game as Whitethorn dominated quaffle possession, they were swift to take out Ryan, and even landed a solid blow on Palmer. The pencil moved to make a few notes. It wasn't lost on her that they seemed to be making use of many of Gryffindor's usual tactics, including tag-teaming with their beaters with precision strikes rather than heavy blows. Nor could she deny the improvements made by Moussa and Haworth. There had clearly been some heavy hours of practice put in in preparation for this game.

A boy next to her began to speak. She glanced up reflexively, but reverted her attention back to the game almost immediately when it became obvious that he wasn't speaking to her. Or so she had assumed, anyway, given that his speech had obviously been a different language. Back straightening, she sat slightly forward, eyes narrowed as Palmer began an erratic pursuit. Had he.. yes. Yes, he must have seen the snitch. Her eyes darted ahead of him in an attempt to spot it, but the rain and distance worked against her. Still, her suspicion that he'd found it was confirmed the moment he closed in on Whitethorn to perform an alley-oop.

Again, speech sounded from beside her. She ignored it in favour of the game, thoroughly drawn in to the shift in pace. The gong sounded. Ravenclaw this time. And again. But the voice continued. A fleeting glance set itself to the side to see that same boy peering at her expectantly, her previous assumption now cast down as his heavily accented question—this time in English—was directed her way.

"Pardon?" Raincloud eyes swivelled briefly to the game and then back to the boy, his words taking a moment to find purchase in her thoughts.

As her mind processed, her gaze passed over him in a single sweep from crown to foot, making note of the sakura design upon his hoodie and the generally casual attire he had donned. But a loud CRACK forced her to snap her attention back to the pitch, just in time to see Palmer's broom splinter from beneath him. She sucked air through her teeth, brows furrowing in slight annoyance that this brief distraction had drawn her focus at the precise moment of action. She said nothing for a moment, ignoring the question as the Slytherin seeker fell. Then exhaled her resentment as Riddle caught him. How disappointing. For a moment, she thought she would finally be able to see Flash in action. Not to mention that would have been a great victory—however temporary—for Ravenclaw.

"No," she offered in delayed response to the boy, this time keeping her eyes forward, determined not to miss another moment. "He is the only one I know to regularly disregard footwear." A pause as she wrote a few more things down. "It was sumimasen that you were about to say, wasn't it." Not really a question. She knew the word and recognized his accent. While she didn't speak the language, herself, having little interest in it, her mother did; and it was not uncommon for her to study to the sound of her mother's anime in the background. She didn't mind it. The foreign language didn't distract the same way that films or shows in her own chosen languages did. "Are you from Mahoutokoro, then? Your English is very good."

It was actually a pretty exciting round. The Ravenclaw Beater had actually smashed the Slytherin Seeker's broom, a devastating blow to Slytherin, the early favorite due to their relative successes last year on the pitch. Now Palmer was going to be sharing a broom the duration of the match, if he survived it. Having seen the snitch and sharing a broom, Dan Palmer had just become a very attractive target.

Winnie was out there too, looking amazing in her quidditch gear. Why couldn't she dress like that on their dates? The boy had a few questionable fetishes and sadly this was one of them. He would clap and cheer but he would not declare a side, a team or a name. Both Slytherin and Ravenclaw experienced successes. Erin, the hag, but also their star beater was back on her broom ready to wreck lives. Palmer was almost down and out but the snitch was within his line of sight. This was going to be a very short game from the look of things unless Ravenclaw blasts Palmer out of the air.

He would let out a shout of nameless encouragement. If Ravenclaw won, he would have a happy girlfriend. If Slytherin won, he would have a happy house. Sadly, the inverse was also quite possibly true - a pissed off Winnie was a fun sight as long as he was not the focus of her wrath and his dormmates being pissed off at something besides himself was an enjoyable pastime also. No Matter what happened, no matter who won, he was going to have a good time.

Hadashi was now rather confused. If Slytherin seekers didnt go barefoot, why would this one? It was... very odd. Especially due to the weather.
Ravenclaw seemed to be demolishing Slytherin's entire team. One of their chasers kept trying to blatch, and failed over and over and over again...

For being a house about logic and reason, they sure used a lot of brute force. Hadashi decided to have a talk with the Slytherin captain and see if this was a normal thing, or just a rough game.

He looked at the girl who complimented his english.

"Yes. I made sure to study it extensiveury. Ahh.... Thank... you?"

He was pretty sure thats how you thank someone in english...

" Ah.... I am sorry to keep asking things... Uravencuraw (ravenclaw) is your champion team, yes? With.... purayings?(playings).... purays (plays)? Such as this? Or am I mistaken?"

Then he pointed to Jorah.

"And Him.... He is your best player?"

Looking around, Hadashi saw many people in shock about the barefooted seeker being taken out of the game... Was this not a regular occurrence? He suddenly felt deep sympathy for Slytherin.
Hadashi resolved to watch every game after this one. This is something he needed to know, to satiate his burning curiosity.

Quidditch is violent. Henry watched members of the slytherin team were being knocked off their brooms and falling to the ground. Dropping like flies. The third year didn't think the ravenclaw team was that strong or violent, at least they weren't in dueling but it looked to be different when it came to quidditch.

The third year at points didn't want to watch, he wanted to leave. Watching friends and housemates having their brooms shattered and being knocked off to their doom wasn't a pleasant scene.

How could someone enjoy this game?

The third year mauled the question over when he saw Cash was the next victim. Watching the fellow snake fall from a shattered broom to the ground, looking down to see them far from where they were in the sky. Henry felt bad for them, he had a urge to see if they were alright but didn't leave. He wanted to see if Avery would play, silently hoping the first year wouldn't have a chance that game.

The game continued on, becoming harder to watch and more unfair for the slytherin team as the minutes past. No one caught the stitch but house mates and dorm mates were still falling from the sky, Henry felt himself looking away when he heard Loki's meow from.his shoulder.

Turning toward the sky, Henry watched the next two snake victims fall. The first string keeper and seeker. Dan was out. Dan the captain of the team, a forury year who Henry heard was a god at catching the small golden ball is out.

Henry looked on, silently dreading what is going to happen next. His eyes saw Avery, the first year would get to play that game.

The third year held his breath as he looked on, hoping that the first year would remain in the air and not falling to the depth of the quidditch pitch with a broken broom.

Another dorm mate would get the chance to play to. Henry had little lack of Flash's well being but hoped the fellow third year would quickly catch the miniscule shiny ball and end the game.... however the teen was doubting a win was possible now.

Henry watched the game with squinted eyes, watching as ravenclaws targeted the slytherin team members and knock them off their brooms. It was painful to witness but not as nearly as painful as he watched Avery fall from his broom.

The game was still going on but it didnt take much to know the winner of that game as he gave Rose the banner and left the stands, heading toward the hospital wing.

======================================
Rose usually went to the Quidditch games. She used to be fascinated by the thought of Quidditch, but once tryouts came up her second year, she just... got scared. She couldn't even bear the thought of failure in front of everybody. The dream of being a Quidditch player faded away, and she pushed down the part in her heart that still longed to fly. In the Quidditch Scrimmage, she had tried out being a Quidditch Player. She had played the role of Keeper, which hadn't been her first choice. But she played anyway, and lost. Rose just brought her entire team down, and she turned her nose up even more at Quidditch.

Not that she had done much better at dueling in her second year, anyway.

Still, Rose pushed down the deep desire of her heart to fly to the bottom of her heart. She wasn't going to play Quidditch. No way Jose. And that was that.

Henry had invited her to come to the game with him, and she had accepted. Rose knew he wasn't the biggest fan of Quidditch, but he came to the games to watch his friends and cheer them on. He also wasn't a hardcore student for House pride, though she didn't doubt that he wanted Slytherin to win the Quidditch cup, the Dueling Championship, and the House Cup.

It was a little cold outside that day, and drizzling, and Rose was bundled up in a sweater, a thick hoodie, and a raincoat. Overall, she looked a little bit fluffy because of all the layers she had on. But it was worth it. Probably

Slytherin pulled ahead first, but Ravenclaw quickly caught up. Rose spied the spark in the Seekers' eyes as they seemed to find the Snitch, starting to fly around, as if chasing it. Then the seeker was knocked out and Flash was put in instead. Rose had met Flash before, at the last Quidditch game. Apparently he knew Anastasia pretty well. She watched him carefully. Hopefully he would be okay. Her conversation with him had been pleasant, and she really hoped that he was doing alright. Quidditch continued on being violent, people falling from their brooms and being caught, people falling to the ground...

When a dark-haired boy [Avery Chen] fell to the ground, Henry got up and left. Rose's eyes watched him, concerned. She stayed with the poster, keeping it in sight of the players. She would fill Henry in on the rest of the match later. Hopefully his friend would be okay. Well, of course his friend would be okay. This was only Quidditch, after all.

"Come on, y'all!" she shouted.

"Mn.." Evelynn hummed thoughtfully back at the boy's confirmation of educational enrolment. Really, she'd have been surprised if he had offered anything other than an affirmative, but she supposed the world had become rather diverse. Perhaps she was pigeon-holing herself into assuming that he hailed from somewhere his appearance suggested. After all, it wasn't as though Hogwarts wasn't incredibly diverse in its own student population. Her sights lingered on him for a few moments before dragging back to the action of the game. He had been a boy of few words and now that his query had been answered, it seemed he had little enthusiasm to carry the conversation forward.

Not that she was upset by that. The turn of the game soon captivated her attention on a level she would not have thought possible. Tracking it's progression, she was all but certain that Slytherin was about to clinch the win. By the purposeful way in which he was flying followed by a successive spiral dive, Palmer had appeared to be closing in fast upon the snitch. Dewlight wasn't anywhere in sight initially, only barely catching up to him as he descended into what Evelynn thought might have been the finale of the game. Only... Ravenclaw exploded into action at a level the prefect hadn't expected.

Soon enough, Slytherin left and right were being dismounted, their brooms shattering at the hands of Moussa's powerful strikes. Every splinter sent a shiver down the length of Evelynn's spine. It was painful to hear. Quite literally so, in some respects, with just how loud the echoing cracks could be. But more than that, the loss of those brooms would be devastating to their riders. While not sentient, they were very much like a wand in the hands of a Quidditch player. Extensions of themselves. And to see them brought down to such a damaged state shook her. Not to mention the implication it had on the game itself, forcing players to remain doubled up without the option to return the fallen to their brooms.

And it only spiralled from there.

Really, it was a sight to behold. The scores were very nearly tied up, each picking and choosing when to take advantage of conveniently unguarded hoops, but the mesmerizing exhibit came from the sheer ferocity as the two sides clashed together in a war of pride. It seemed Ravenclaw were certainly holding nothing back this year, a sentiment that Evelynn took to heart considering they would be Gryffindor's next opponents after the new year. She would have to keep their aggression in mind when strategizing for that game. It was almost too aggressive. At the start of the match, she'd been hopeful to be able to see Flash actually in action for once. Too long had he sat warming the bench.

But when Palmer finally fell, opening that position for the yet unblooded second-string, all that Evelynn could feel was dread. The eagles had stolen the momentum of the game and weren't letting up an inch. It was a terrible time for a change in the roster, and what was worse, it came with the arrival of two of the other second-strings as well. Too many inexperienced players entering on the field nearly simultaneously. They were dropping too fast. There would be no recovery without a miracle... And sure enough.. Evelynn winced as Moussa's bludger struck true once again, Flash taking the brunt of it.

Palms pressed together, fingers sandwiching themselves on either side of Evelynn's nose as she hid the lower half of her face. It was a massacre. Only two snakes remained aloft, and without a seeker in sight for them. Dewlight was still hot in pursuit of the snitch... Only an intervention of the divine could possibly even the odds and shed some hope for Slytherin, and it seemed the norse gods had abandoned them.

Stinky, smelly, shouting, sadists. Hana rather not call them that when he’s sitting around them. Wrapped around with a head scarf, under a long brim hat, & leopard print cat eye sunglasses that were too big for his face, anyone could see he doesn’t want to be recognised. Which ultimately ended up making him look like he came to a pool party in formal clothes. He understood how ridiculous he looked, but you know what else is ridiculous? Stinky, smelly, shouting, sadist.

He could easily blame his history with growing up in a muggle environment for his lack of attachment towards a popular wizarding sport such as Quidditch. But even back then, sports were.. BORING. They were boring! Soccer? Boring. Badminton? Boring. Track? Not worth mentioning. Which might’ve explained his lack of exercise regiments and rock hard muscles. But does he care? No. But he does care a lot about Percival Rainwood.

After promptly threatening a 1st year to move or get whooped, Hana stood on a good spot, Resisting the urge to cast an umbrella charm to protect himself from the rain. Ew, rain. His head scarf and waterproof ( hopefully) hat would be good enough. He didn’t plan to stay long. The plan was to see 5 minutes of Percival flying about with that charming grin on his face, and go back. This was the last place he wanted to be at, apart from the library. Far less enthusiastic in the stands, Hanako merely looked silently at how the match was going with his binoculars. God it was loud.

Fortunately, he didn’t need to stay long. Because by the 3rd round, Percival had fallen off his broom. Hanako had 2 very different reactions towards this predicament. Horrayy, & Uh oh. Well, that was his cue to leave. Sorry to Slytherin for losing such a fabulous spectator, but Hana’s only interest is now being dragged away by a stretcher. Therefore, he too- will drag himself out of the stands.

Sorry for the very late post to the game which already ended. But later on I'm having a thread right after this happened, so it's better to post in here to show IC proof that Hana knows Percy got whacked. I hope this doesn't causes any trouble. If it does, I don't mind being owled about it. Thank you!
