Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw: Match 6
At this point Callie was operating on a form of autopilot as it was a preferable alternative compared to dwelling on how rotten her luck had been. Granted she was no longer being roasted like a marshmallow but it was difficult to see the upsides in a situation like this. At least in this scenario there weren’t any spiders…or any Thomas Baines clones flinging her into the air.

This duel was dragging on longer than she'd expected. Or at least she felt like she'd be able to pull through the vigorous movements of dodging and casting. Aurelia was wrong. She was starting to feel... tired. The beginning of a sheen of sweat forming on her forehead. The fifth year knew that when she was exhausted, she got a little more grumpier than usual. And Aurelia's patience was running thin with the minutes that gone by. For the third time, her spell missed her target.

The fifth years were certainly taking up the healer role in this match; Aurelia had finished restoring Katherine's strength a moment ago, and now Delilah was busy aiding Callie. Her healing was on a bit grander of a scale, though, Reparifors glowing around both Callie and herself. There was value in playing defense, in bringing your team back to the point they could go fully on the offensive, and that was being recognized today.
But Ravenclaw wasn't so much on the ropes anymore, able to dedicate one member to weakening the opposition. Callie lined up another Incendio Duo at Katherine, and this time it didn't rebound on her but caught the girl alight. Bridget pressed her lips together; being on fire was a rather awful experience, and watching someone burn without making any move to do anything never felt quite right.
The duel must go on--there was no stopping for a little fire--and Aurelia moved to return the favor. Like with the curses aimed at Delilah, she didn't seem quite accurate enough, fast enough, to hit anyone. The Gryffindor wasn't atrociously off, by any means, and Callie had definitely felt the heat on that one, but close didn't count in duelling.
As for Katherine, the second year seemed to have frozen. Maybe she'd had a spell planned and maybe the sensation of burning had driven it from her mind. Whatever the case, there would be no second spell joining Aurelia's to cross the stage.

A grin rose to Delilah's face, after doubting her own abilities this was definitely helping her duelling ego a little. 2 rounds in a row where things were on the up, it was only getting better. She tapped her head again with her free hand, hoping that game them the luck once more.

Katherine panicked from the inside but she didn't show it, she had her stoic face on hiding her every emotion. She had practised being stoic for as long as she had been born. thanks for dear old father. She watched the fire but kept remaining as calm, looking at her partner and grunting from the sting. She awaited the next move.

Katherine was not doing alright. She was on fire. The lapping lames was nothing new to the fifth year given her seniority. But Aurelia would still gasp when the other gryffindor's clothes caught fire. Her eyebrow furrowed together as she glared at their opponents. Every second that ticked by, she was starting to grow tired and impatient. This frustration could easily be fueled right back into their duel.

At the very least Callie wasn't on fire and that was classed as a win for the poor girl. Even just casting any spell at the moment seemed to be a daunting prospect filled with endless possibilities of things going horribly wrong. It was moments like these where Callie seemed to be struggling to see the positive side, especially since she started her third year. Things just felt....weird..and wrong....and unlucky.
