Hilda and Walter were walking outside in the grounds area, it seemed like both her and her pet had enough of staying inside walls of Hogwarts.
But both of them were forced, as November was a cloudy windy and cold month, however they were at their limit and Hildegard noticed that her cat needed a bit of fresh air.
So the disable girl took a quite stylish long reefer coat to wear, her walking stick and took her cat outside of Hogwarts.
The Slytherin girl was glad that she took it as it was just thick enough for her not to feel cold.
She was looking at Walter running around everywhere, until the point that he got out of her eyesight.
So Schneider followed him, as fast as she could, until she saw him, Walter was sitting on high grass watching a purple puff, knowing him she knew that he wanted to either eat it or chase it, and so she stopped and watched, she wanted to know how Walter would do it.
She saw the owner however she was too far to recognize any faces, it did not matter that person just needed to be more careful with his or her animal after all !
Hilda laid on the grass observing Walter who slowly got close to the puff, suddenly he jumped on the poor puff trying to eat it.

Winter was approaching, but that didn't stop the small boy from wanting to go outside. If anything, it was a chance to see the Grounds one more time before the snow settled in and covered the land. It was a chance to feel the crunch of leaves underfoot, as the branches were now bare, and it was a time to enjoy the outdoors before one needed to wrap up like a stumbling ninja to protect any and all exposed skin.
To be honest, he hated the cold. Not because he was a wimp -- no! -- but because it was uncomfortable -- and distracting from the sights! -- and those were definitely very different things.
He tucked Edward the Pygmy Puff into his coat pocket as he headed out of the Snape Dorm. The purple Puff gave a light squeak in protest, unhappy to be disturbed by anyone. The clever little guy certainly wasn't fond of going to random, alien places beyond his usual potty break. It was not early morning, nor was it late afternoon, so why the heck were they going out. "C'mon, Eddie, it'll be fun! You've barely seen much of the Grounds before! Let's go on a little hike and see if we can find a new favorite nook!" Avery encouraged the Puff, doing his very best to boost morale. "Look, I've even brought your treat pouch, so we can enjoy a snack when we settle down somewhere, okay?" He slipped Eddie a piece of shredded cheese, and Eddie nibbled it contentedly before settling in more comfortably in his pocket. There we go!
He exited a side door, and a chilly breeze greeted them. Thankfully, hardly anyone would be hanging outside on the Grounds on a slightly chillier and cloudier day like this, so it was the perfect day to take Eddie out for some air and a small, calm adventure that he could likely tolerate. It was difficult to get the little Puff to open up and get calmly exposed to new things -- he was rather withdrawn, and nervous about new experiences -- but Avery was determined to work with him slowly so that he would be more likely to come out of his shell, get past his fears, and enjoy life to its fullest. That was what Avery hoped to accomplish for his little companion: To chase away the clouds from Eddie's past that likely crowded his little mind, and one day see the bright world through eyes filled with wonder.
He trotted cheerfully down a path, humming Vivaldi's "Autumn" as he went, bouncing to each staccato note and hopping through the leaves as he went, scurrying a little through the faster parts and laughing as he went. Eddie buried himself into the pocket as not to fall out, but he was used to his owner's prancing movements by now, thankfully. Finally, Avery slowed through the melancholy intermezzo, humming and glancing around for a peaceful spot upon which to settle. Aha! There was a rock on the top of a hill! He came to a skip, and dashed up the hill just as the piece ended cheerfully, settling down to sit upon the rock as his humming came to a last dramatic note.
"Wow, Eddie, you can see Quidditch Pitch from here!" he exclaimed, eyes gazing west where the sun hung high above it, showering his favorite arena with a misty glow through the clouds. He took the Puff out from his pocket, and placed him gently on the rock next to him. Eddie sniffed the immediate area before glancing up at his surroundings, hardly paying attention to where Avery was pointing. He didn't quite care for quidditch, after all, even if he could understand the boy. No melancholy Puff in their right mind would want to fly on a broom.
"You know, I was thinking we could come out each weekend, find a new place to explore on the Grounds, and make a list of all our favorite sight-seeing spots! What do you--" Avery was interrupted by a high, blood-curdling screech, and he had never heard such a jarring, bone-rattling sound before. He turned to Eddie in a flash, eyes widening and mouth opening to ask what was wrong, but what he saw next could almost have no words. A gray cat had both claws wrapped around the poor Puff, who was a struggling mass of purple within its tight grip, partially obscured by the cat's mouth. The painful squeals continued, and Avery, overtaken by a sudden primal instinct, swatted at the cat in an attempt to save the almost-devoured Puff. "GAAH STAY AWAY!" he half-yelled, half shrieked, eventually grabbing the cat by its scruff and shaking it, hoping that it would submit once he had held it up in the air this way, not caring if it managed to swipe him with its claws. He'd rather the cat lose its grip on Eddie and scratch him, if need be. He knew he wouldn't stop trying until Eddie was free and safe.

Hildegard came closer and closer to her cat and it's victims, seeing the owner of the puff panic was really fun.
At leas that is what the girl thought until she came close enough to realize the owner was Avery Chen, the boy she despised the most.
Hate for having vomiting on her, breaking her stuff and just being alive by now.
It was not "fun" anymore now, it was pure pleasure, pure joy to see him panic and try to make Walter stop.
A big smirk appeared on her face as she came closer,
-My, my, what a Surprise to see you here Avery.
She looked at Walter, trying to discretely tell him to attack her Slytherin classmate.
And it seemed like Walter understood and started direct his attack toward the musician.
-Please Walter, please murder him !
-It seems like you are having some trouble aren't you ?
-Friend, she added sarcastically.
Hilda ordered Walter to stop and come back to her, she did want Avery hurt but ultimately she knew that Walter was just a cat and she would rather not have her cat hurt.
She intended to order him to re-attack the puff whenever she would have the occasion tho.
-I'm so sorry about that, it seems like my cat is hungry, so please don't stop him when he is trying to eat this puff.
Schneider glared at Walter to order him to re-attack puff, which he did.

His effort to save Eddie from the rogue cat finally succeeded. He grabbed Eddie and examined the purple Pygmy Puff in a panic. "Oh my god! Are you okay, Eddie? Let me take a look." He turned the Puff back and forth, pushing away his plush fur to see if there was any damage, but luckily, his fuzzy coat seemed to have absorbed most of the damage. He was pretty sure that any damage was mental at this point, which was just as bad, if not worse. Keeping a careful eye on the cat and standing back a few paces, he tucked the shaken Puff into his coat pocket carefully.
It had taken so much effort just to get Eddie out of his shell of anxiety and willing to explore new places with more confidence. The Training Jamboree had been quite successful. The Puff knew that it wasn't so bad to be out in the open anymore, with all that positive reinforcement work that Avery put in. And now this.
"My, my, what a Surprise to see you here Avery." Avery tensed at that voice. It was cruel and sarcastic, laden with vice. It could only belong to the one and only crazy and sadistic witch: Schneider. With a nod to the gray cat, she directed the cat to pounce on Avery. Fortunately, his long coat and pants were enough to stave off most of the scratches. His glare, which was originally directed towards the girl, met the cat's eyes and he hissed back at it, planning to kick it if it continued. However, Hildegard called her cat back before he could do so.
"I should've known that a crazy, sadistic cat could only belong to a crazy, sadistic witch," Avery scowled, eyes narrowing. "Did you infect him with your rabies?" he asked sarcastically. Schneider was definitely a rabid animal. He had vowed to stay away from her, but the insufferable girl was now trying to infect him with her disease, or something. She was like COVID. Never disappearing. "You keep that nasty cat under control or it might attack Eddie again!" he cautioned.
"I'm so sorry about that, it seems like my cat is hungry, so please don't stop him when he is trying to eat this puff." Avery paused in disbelief. "What did you say?" Did she willingly want her cat to eat a Pygmy Puff? What kind of savage was this witch? The blood boiled in his veins, and he felt his fists clench tightly to his sides. Never in his life had he felt such fury, such a desire to maim those who purposefully hurt his own.
The girl seemed to order her cat to attack Eddie again, and the gray furball swiped as his coat pocket where Eddie was safely nestled and definitely shaking. He bared his teeth at the cat and stepped away. "Stop it, you crazy witch!" he yelled at her.
It was no time to be nice. No time for mercy. What was an otherwise friendly, cheerful boy became brutal and encircled by rage and a desire to protect. Before he knew it, he held up his tightened fists and struck a blow with his right, aiming straight for Hildegard's face.

The impact was extremely satisfying, striking her square in the face. Whether it was her eye, her nose, or her jaw, he didn't really notice. Nor did he notice the shock of pain in his hand, despite the powerful blow. He was only focused on the thrill of success and the adrenaline rush of having delivered such a punch to a vile girl, disabled or not.
"You take your cat and stay away from Eddie!" he yelled, spit spraying from his mouth from bared teeth, face alight with fury, panting with the rush of rage.

Henry walked through the grounds, book underneath his arm as he scanned his gaze for a spot.
It was a rare time when the lad has free time in his third year with homework, dueling practices, frog choir, the secret wolf united, and cacthing up with friend's. His third yesr brought on a lot more giving him less time, he enjoyed it but in thise rare times that he had free time then he loved it. He lived in them. After all, Henry is a introvert no matter what others think and enjoys his time alone.
Finding a spot underneath a tree, a wind blowing in the distance. Henry took a breath, sitting down under the outstretched branches as he crscked opened the book. The smell filling his nose as the words filled his mind.
Henry's feline, his other half. Counterpart. Loki, a yesr old orange feline with amber eyes didn't wish to sit outside and do other. The feline meow, quote loudly to his onwer
as sat down in front of Henry. Henry starched Loki's head for a moment before turning back to his reading.
Loki wasnt pleased, giving a low growl to the lad who softy smiled as his ryes scanned hungrily over the words of the book. Loki was about to meow again when a soind caught the feline's ears, Loki scanned the ground eirh amber eyes until he saw it.
Henry heard his feline guve another loud feline then felt his claws against hus knuckles, the lad shook his hand as he turned the page and spoke"stop it, judt relax Loki," Henry haven't seen it yet but he would soon.
The third year haven't noticed that Loki walked past the tree he was sitting underneath and across the grounds toward two first years, one recognized as Avery Chen with two pets. One, Avery's pygmy puff; Edward and the second a unknown cat who was jumping and attacking Avery's pocket at least that was what it looked liked if Henry looked up.
Henry knew that Loki was overconfident, much like the norse god the feline believed that he is made to rule. At least other felines....
Approaching without Henry knowing, Loki scampered up toward the strange cat. Letting out a loud hiss as he begun to circle the fellow feline, similar to a predator circling it's prey.
Loki arched his back, letting out a low growl as the orange feline stepped swiftly forward with a outstretched paw. Claws out and aimed for the strange feline belonging to the slytherin girl.
Loki stretched and his aim was a bit off but still managed to hit the feline's side, clawing at their fur and in a smooth motion the orange feline left his paw on the feline's side and jumped.
Landing on the feline, Loki stood on his head emitting a loud hiss but his paw slipped and he ler the feline up. Loki backed up, stood high and begun to circle the feline emitting a low growl, smoothly flicking his tail from side to side.Loki pinnimg down Walter

Every thing happened so quickly, Hilda did not get the time to protect herself or even to realize what was happening to her, she got punched in the face really hard by Avery.
The girl fell on the ground in absolute pain, her face turned red from the punch and soon after it became rage took over, she wanted to took out her wand and cast something but the pain was too much to do something like that.
-H...HOW DO YOU ?!...DARE YOU ?! I'M A GIRL! I...I'M DISABLE ! YOU GORILLA ! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT ! MY DADDY WILL KNOW ABOUT THAT ! She screamed at Chen in rage with some tears on her eyes because of the punch.
Meanwhile the poor Walter was assaulted by another cat, she saw it but in the middle of the fuss, with her being on the ground with her disability there was nothing she could do.
Walter however tried to flee by heading toward the direction of Eddie maybe he had a plan or it was just coincidence.
Back to the witch, she looked at Avery dead in the eyes, her hand on her face and said full of hate :
-I hate you so much ! I really do !

He watched as Hildegard toppled onto the ground from the strength of his punch. Avery inhaled with a sense of accomplishment, any mercy for the girl abandoned. Those daily morning workouts for quidditch were really paying off, weren't they? He never thought that a musician like himself, who was more often focused on violin practice than exercise, would be able to gain some additional strength and dexterity after regular calisthenics over the past two months.
Only then did his right hand begin to feel sore, the adrenaline now wearing off. He unclenched and clenched his fist, feeling the extension of the sinews in his hands to make sure that nothing was off. Sure, the muscles were still a bit tense, and maybe there would be some swelling, but nothing that some ice couldn't solve in the next couple of days. More importantly: nothing that would impact his violin practice more than a day or two. He felt himself calm. Eddie was safe now, Hildegard was on the ground and unlikely to initiate another attack.
"H...HOW DO YOU ?!...DARE YOU ?! I'M A GIRL! I...I'M DISABLE ! YOU GORILLA ! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT ! MY DADDY WILL KNOW ABOUT THAT !" she screamed, tears pooling in her eyes from the impact of the punch. At this point, he began to feel slightly sorry for the girl. If they were going with fists, there was no way this was a fair fight. She also seemed a bit too distraught to take out her wand and cast something at Avery, so she didn't seem to be a threat right now. "What? What in the world do you even mean?" He didn't know who Hildegard's father was, or what he would do, but he wasn't quite too concerned about Mr. Schneider at the moment, with everything that was happening in the moment.
All of a sudden, an orange blur bounded out of nowhere and attacked Hildegard's gray cat, swatting at him and circling with a low growl. Avery squinted. The cat looked familiar. Was it... "Loki?" he asked, calling the orange feline's name out loud. "What are you doing here?" He glanced around for his bunkmate Henry, but couldn't find the older boy. It seemed that Loki had acted by his own accord, probably after sensing Avery and Eddie's distress.
Immediately, Walter began to flee in the direction of Avery and Eddie, causing Avery to hold a hand over his coat pocket and shuffle away to the other side of the large rock to dodge out of the way of the cat's approach. "Loki! You're doing great, don't let him get us!" he hollered to the orange cat, not knowing if he could even understand him, but at least he tried.
"I hate you so much ! I really do !" Hilda yelled at him from her position on the ground. "And I hate you too!" he yelled back, tears pooling in his own eyes as he thought about the injustice of his violin being smashed and Eddie being attacked. "I hope you just Apparate into a black hole and never come back!" Honestly, if Hildegard Schneider just disappeared from the face of the earth, everybody's lives would be better.
"Now tell your cat to stay away from us! Or... or else!" His threat was weak, because he really didn't know what else he would do. It wasn't like he was going to punch her again. Meanwhile, he was thinking that if she finally got her cat under control, he might, miiiight even consider helping the disabled girl back up onto her feet. Though of course he would not apologize first if she didn't apologize for terrorizing Eddie.

Henry turned the page of his book, not yet realizing thay his orange feline was in fact not besides him anymore.
That Loki circled another feline; Walter, growling at the cat. Loki would pick his ears up when he noticed that Walter was headed for Avery and Edward, bending down before the feline sprinted and jumped.
Cutting off Walter as the feline stood between him and Avery with Edward. Loki hissed, threatening clawing the air taking a step forward before hitting out a loud and vicious cry on that his onwer would hear.
Henry would looked up from his book, concerned as his eyes gazed arpund for his feline who wasn't in his sight. Closing the book, the third year got to his feet and started walking around the tree looking for his orange feline when he saw it.
A girl on the ground, crying and yelling strange threats ones that Henry believed only posh people would yell. She mentioned her father so the teen thought it was strange.
Then he saw Avery yelling back, crying with Edward before his eyes found Loki.... of course the feline was attacking a strange cat.
As Henry made his way toward the conflict, Loki clawed the air once more before he pounced landing on Walter.
The orange feline kept the cat pinned to the ground, letting out another hiss as Loki's paw stood on Walter's eye and the other on his chest. The feline didn't look like he would be moving anytime soon as he lower his head toward the pinned cat and let out another threatening hiss.Loki pinning Walter to the ground

-Just wait you will know what i meant ! She said to herself when Avery asked the question.
When Avery expressed his mutual hate to Hildegard a lot happened psychologically inside her mind.
Someone hated her enough as to punch her this hard ? Actually lots of people she met so far seemed to hate her too, Ming, Liana, Maggie and so on.
She deeply believed that they all hated her in some way or another, at that moment she really felt alone.
- I hate them all so much ! I did not do anything to deserve this ! And I won't change to be loved by people like them ! She swore.
Tear started to flood a bit more, and when the boy asked what was happening she blamed Avery in front of Henry :
-He...he punched me ! B...broke my stuff ! wasted my clothes ! And now he just said he wanted me to dis...disappear !
She got up her hand still on her hurt face, looking at Avery, she used to only hate him, but now there was fear as well. For the first time there was something she feared which she really wanted to overcome, she wanted to make him pay for that, for everything, no matter what.
She briefly looked at her cat before looking at both boys again.
Scared of Avery she decided to leave, abandoning her cat there, thinking he'd just find his way back.
-Don't punch me ! You know you can't do that ! She said before leaving.

Loki, ever protective of Avery and Edward, took it upon himself to defend them against the gray cat, growling and pouncing like the mischievous athlete he was. For once in his life, Avery was able to witness and appreciate how athletic Loki was. Who knew that this orange cat that was so cuddly could also be so fierce?
Soon enough, Avery spotted his bunkmate dashing up the hill. "What's happening here? Are you two alright?" he asked, blue eyes frantically darting between the fallen, teary girl clutching her face on the ground and the sniffing boy holding onto his coat pocket where Eddie always curled up.
Schneider spoke first, pinning the blame on Avery. To him, she looked more pathetic than pitiful, but maybe he was biased. "What?" he jumped in, indignantly, heat rushing up to his cheeks. "You make it sound like you're the victim in this relationship!" But he had to calm down and explain everything clearly and plainly to Henry, who would surely believe him? Indeed, he had told his bunkmate the story where Hildegard had broken his violin; it was a very prominent life event, after all.
"Henry, this is the girl who broke my violin, and now she wants her cat to eat Eddie!" he explained frantically. "So, okay, I did give her a little knock... Like, a punch, to be exact... in her face..." Okay, now that he was hearing himself talk, it didn't seem very nice of him to punch a disabled girl right in the noggin. "But clearly, she's fine, see!" He gestured frantically towards Schneider, who was now getting up, as if to prove that he hadn't actually done quite as much damage as one would imagine. "You're fine, aren't you, Hilda?" However, his question was likely to go unanswered, upset as she was.
"Don't punch me ! You know you can't do that !" She spat back as she turned to leave. "I wasn't going to anyway!" Avery shouted after her. It was a useless retort, but the defiance in those words was more a method to get the frustration out of his body.
After the girl left, he finally slumped back down on the rock and carefully took Eddie out of his pocket. What a day. The shaken Puff gave him a frightened squeak before his eyes darted around in search of danger. "Don't worry, Eddie, everything is fine. Look, Loki came to help! And Henry is here, too." He bent down and held the purple Puff closer to Loki. The Puff sniffed the orange cat, grateful for some sense of familiarity after a frightening incident. Avery could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
