Outfit: x "Protection? Why would you need protection?" Adelaide scrunched her face up in confusion, not understanding why Finley's parents thought it was a good idea to protect her from the wizarding world. Of course there were bad spells and bad wizards but, Adelaide assumed there were bad people in the muggle world too? Plus, that's what Azkaban was for. "I just assumed that every person with wizard parents knew about Hogwarts before coming. So, did they hide magic around you then? How did they manage to do that?" She was glad she wasn't the only one confused about Finley's upbringing, as Rora seemed just as confused as her.
Adelaide's eyes widened as Rora nearly choked to death on a lollipop, "Please don't die," Adelaide said, a teasing glint in her eye, "I know magizoologist is quite a cool career, but please don't choke to death!" Adelaide gave Finley and Rora her full attention as they were talking about the careers they want to do. Adelaide was very ambitious, but she hadn't yet decided what career path she wanted to go down. An Auror sounded cool, but it was also quite dangerous. Then again, she was only a first year, so she had plenty of time to decide. Her eyes widened in amazement as Finley talked about her father's phoenix, "Your father has a phoenix? That's so cool! I don't think I've ever saw a phoenix before, except for in photos or books."
Still not quite convinced that peanut butter and chocolate went together, Adelaide shook her head, "Nope. I definitely do not see myself joining this so called nutty side anytime soon, peanut butter should not go anywhere near chocolate. End of story." She declared this debate closed, whether Rora liked it or not. She did feel quite betrayed though when Finley agreed with Rora, seriously, what possessed these two to believe that peanut butter and chocolate was a good match? It certainly was not. That was a match made in hell, not heaven.
"No, you absolutely do not want siblings," she shook her head frantically at Finley, "they are the worst, Eloise, my sister, is the spawn of Satan, seriously. She is evil. Quite frankly, you should be glad that you are an only child." She told Finley matter-of-factly, though she suspected Rora might disagree, as it seemed she had a good relationship with her siblings. Adelaide definitely couldn't relate to that. Maybe she was being a tiny bit overdramatic about Eloise, but she would willingly give her sister away to anyone that wanted a sibling, "You can have my sister if you want," she added, looking at Finley.
"Why would you eat Every Flavor Beans?" She repeated Finley's question as if she couldn't quite believe what she was hearing, "For the fun, obviously! It's sort of a game of luck, you either get a really nasty flavor like vomit or you can get a really good flavor like candyfloss! Look," she took another bean out of the already opened packet of Every Flavor Beans and popped one into her mouth. She cringed, her mouth twisting up in disgust, "Okay, ew. Earwax," she reluctantly swallowed the bean, still not happy with the aftertaste in her mouth, "Okay, so maybe that wasn't the best way to convince you that they're fun. But you get my point, you eat one and hope to Merlin it's a good flavor!" She took another bite of her Kit Kat to hopefully wash the taste of earwax out of her mouth.
Adelaide caught the candy Rora handed to her, "Three musketeers? What's that? Are they like... a muggle band?" She had absolutely no clue who or what the three musketeers were, but she assumed it was good if Rora was comparing the three of them to them. "I'm not too sure about trouble," Adelaide said to Finley. She wasn't a huge fan of the idea of getting into trouble and ruining what would hopefully be a perfect track record at Hogwarts, "Maybe if we don't get caught I'd consider it." She probably wouldn't even consider it, Eloise was the troublemaker in their family. Not Adelaide.

The Great Lake
As Adelaide kept prodding Finley on her upbringing, an uneasy feeling sat in the pit of Rora's stomach. She was always keenly aware of picking up on things, especially when it had to do with any type of dark magic and this set off a lot of red flags. Rora always suspected that her aunt and uncle were in with the wrong lot but kept her mouth shut because, well... they were family. After all, her aunt and uncle ran a shop in Knockturn Alley and no one with their head on straight was ever caught waltzing around that place. Giving Finley a side glance, Rora gave her the benefit of the doubt and considered the option that maybe her family had been burned by dark magic. Whatever the reason, Rora's heart went out to Finley for being kept in the dark for so long and she wished she give her a telepathic, supportive hug.
Rora let out a soft chuckle, shooting Adelaide a playful grin. "You'll learn that I like to keep things interesting, to say the least." She had by now digested the shards of lollipop that nearly took her life moments ago and was completely transfixed by Finley's father. Her eyes widened as Finley explained more about his exquisite profession "That's wicked! What is its name?" A wide smile broke out across her face and she leaned in, trying to savor every word and story. Rora longed for a niffler of her own someday, or any pet for that matter. Never being one for subtlety, her birthday was coming up shortly and she had only put one item on both her birthday and Christmas list: a pet to bring to Hogwarts. "We have a family owl but I want my own pet - maybe a cat or something. Not sure yet. Do either of you have one?"
A frown crossed Rora's face as Adelaide talked down having siblings. Of course Rora wanted to smack Ash across the head every now and again when he tried to one up her, but that's what kept her witty and on her toes. She could never give up her twin brothers, Finlay and Calan, but that's mainly because they always got into the most trouble so Rora's parents were more relaxed with her as a result. Then there was Ansley, the Bonnie to her Clyde. "Oh really? I absolutely love my siblings, I guess I'm lucky that we are so close." Scratching the back of her head anxiously, she tried to lighten the mood. "Regardless, I've been told that your house becomes your family. I'm already thoroughly enjoying our time together here. I think we make a great group." There she went, always trying to make everyone feel valued and included. Sometimes she wondered if this was her strong Hufflepuff family line coming out.
"Exactly! How could you not think that's hilarious?" Rora slapped her knee and laughed at Adelaide, then took a bean for herself. "Hmm... I reckon I got coffee. Not my favorite, but could be much worse." A smirk emerged and her eyes widened dramatically at the end of that sentence. Snagging the box, she held it out to Finley. "Your turn! Don't be shy, try to get a little outside your comfort zone. Let's see what you get." The peer pressure was real and she eagerly awaited Finley's first Bertie Bott's experience with excitement.
Her eyebrows raised in confusion. "I know quite a bit about the muggle world, but never heard anything about the three muskateers. Maybe it's just a candy name? Sounds like
a fun band name though. Might give the Weird Sisters a run for their money. Speaking of which, my twin brothers have a band and they play at Hogwarts sometimes. We should go soon!" Rora intentionally left out the part that the twins were strictly prohibited from playing on the Hogwarts grounds. They had gotten into too much commotion during their fifth year, so they always had to do it in secret. But, like Adelaide said: As long as they don't get caught.

"I have no idea why they think I needed protection. Maybe muggles don't like wizards? They made sure I knew that magic wasn't a big deal. They'd never use it around me, even after I knew about magic. Said that my heritage isn't as important as some wizards make it out to be. Whatever that means anyway." Finley stopped, feeling that she should stop talking. It was definitely something to ask her parents about in her next letter. After all, they probably told her that for a reason. One that her new friends might know.
"I have a dog and cat back at home. The cat doesn't like me all that much but my dog loves me. Though I guess they're family pets more or less. I'd get a snake if I could get my own pet. I've always wanted a ball python." She was careful to leave out the part about her being able to talk to snakes and hoped that the others wouldn't question her minor obsession with an animal most people despise. "I'm not entirely sure if Hogwarts allows snakes though, and I'd have to get one first."
Finley shook her head, smiling. "I can't imagine that my parents would like it if I brought someone home with me so I think I'll have to pass on that offer." She picked up a bean and looked at it for a second before setting it down in front of her. "Well, hopefully, everyone in our new family gets along with each other. I would hate to be at odds with my new family."
She looked at Aurora and nodded slightly, picking up the bean that was in front of her. Green with little brown flakes. Finley took a deep breath and popped the bean into her mouth. A bite and a face later, she could identify the taste as grass. Grass with just a hint of dirt. . "Yeah, I don't understand how those are enjoyable." She said after she had swallowed the bean.
"As far as I know, the three musketeers was a kid's story about a group doing the right thing. Though that might just be the Disney version of it. They like to make their stories more kid-friendly than the originals."
