Fall Ball 2021 Samhain Festival

So much to notice that Thomas would fail to see. The wandering brown and blue hues of a fellow inflicted. Flash seemingly held an indifferent expression, traveling towards the ball’s entrance with Seilun.

Another boy, as if a silent guardian would withhold Thomas in his sights. Selim Faust having been a part of the boy’s manipulative ways in the past, his plan never concrete. Though in this moment, there was no plan on display. Only reckless boy who thought he had nothing to lose.

A theory quickly disproven. Enter Bridget Collins, who swiftly came to his aid. Lurking behind her, the boy who lived refused to die. To gaze upon Victor Moore left a stabbing in the pit of his stomach, rhythmic pulses swelled his chest, to warrant a surge of blood to the boy’s heart. His palms accumulating moisture, developing a tremble in his dominant left hand. The shaky mayhaw wood swayed, stretched towards Marion’s sinister visage. A disruption of focus was all the girl would need to effortlessly tilt her head, allowing the unavailing incantation to fade in the wind.

An encroaching Marion made no efforts to subdue her reality as a predator that feeds on human flesh. A gentle coo escaped her pink lips, reminiscent of the way Petunia would address a worthy target. Dubbing him Tommy, a name typically used by Erin Ryan to rattle his cage.

Her beauty was undeniable, drawing Thomas towards her grasp as if a spider returning to its web, a fresh victim ensnared. It caught him off guard, retreating breaths, lowering his wand halfway, aimlessly towards her knees.

The way she addressed him unfamiliar, almost endearing. The facade as a helpless victim in the rear view mirror, devilish eyes containing a gaze of desire. It arrested his motion, frozen in place like his friend was soon to be. Marion was going to take him in this moment… there was no counter.

On his left tricep, as if freshly sliced open once more, his mark livened. A gentle tingle followed by a sting. The blonde’s eyes locating his lips in her continued approach. The boy remaining unmoved and defenseless. The grip of his wand loosened in his palm, as it hanging by a single thread before left in a tumble towards the grass below.

A contextual backpedal.

With his return to Hogwarts, enveloping aloneness was an understatement. Clued into his father’s life, and rejection of his son. His mother’s denial, materializing in lies to her son about the truth of his decision. The loss of his last source of comfort on the ice, following an i impassioned attack.

This evening was not about Marion Davenport, the coven she may serve, or even about Santario’s impending demise. It was about an essential reminder to counter his decaying frame of mind. First arriving with his ball date, Falentra Black.

Veiling anxiety departed upon her recognition of Lestrange amidst typical antics. Finding his side with a playful tone, an inquiry about fun shook the boy from his transfixed state. Retaining a strong grip on his wand to keep it directed at the aggressor, Davenport.

The specious allies would not end there. Enter Bearmi, an unusual bond formed after the pair were tasked to ward off a bewildered boggart. Apparently feeling left out enough to engage on Thomas’ behalf, having seen a glimpse of his fear may have provided empathy.

Then came the most impactful of interventionists. A distant shout from the ball’s direction, a voice he would recognize at once. Turning back to find Santario Martin sorting through the crowd in a bee line to his aid.

You are not so alone after all.

A realization that left the world still, even if just for a moment. Bridget urging his retreat, casting a spell that the blonde sidestepped. A panicked Victor howling his disproval of his “date”.

Ami was a tick too late, though Thomas donned this athletic tracksuit for a reason. Swiftly backpedaling his legs to create space, leaving Marion empty handed in a huff. An alternative visual, perhaps lacking in flair, but one we can all be extremely grateful for.

To reiterate, the many coming to Thomas’ aid a significant reminder. This realization also providing significant regret. A defenseless Bridget now frozen in place by the ventriloquist’s doll.

All this time, the helpless victim a silent aggressor. Marion Davenport would demand Thomas’ full attention. The word finite remaining on the tip of his tongue, and no further. Bridget’s frozen state would have to be undone by another hidden ally, or a status she could crack on her own.

”I hope I have your attention now.” Eying Marion, Thomas motioned for the vegan bear to stand down for now, hoping enough of Ami retained control to comply. Unfamiliar with how well practiced the fifth year could really be, and the duration she could retain this form. Thomas could only hope it was indefinite, and Ami remained in complete control.

”My apologies, Fal. This one picked tonight to express some deep seated feelings.” He would not use Marion’s name, relegating her to a useless object in this reference.

Briefly entertaining the thought Marion was Tyranni Whitehorn. A phony seer, in actuality a metamorph. Occupying the girl she knew Thomas would find, as is his tendency at this biannual disaster, otherwise known as a ball. A scar far deeper than any mark a hag coven could provide.

Even as those lips and outstretched hands of Davenport attempted to grasp the boy, he would visualize Tyranni’s eyes. ”Pretty sure I’m gay now.” Thomas remarked with a confounded shake of the head. A status the boy would insist is true, the scars only teenage girls could provide.

Not that Mr.Broody Lestrange could say he’s any better, having his own asshole tactics to deploy on a regular basis, evenly wrapped in a constant state of melodramatic angst. Yet there was something about being kissed against your will that trumps even the boy’s darkest inflictions.

”Watch him, would you?” Thomas eyed dolly boy in the shadows, eyes flickering from Fal to Victor. Implying her role in a defensive stance. Then the boy would do the same with Ami and Bridget, hoping the bear would pick up on his request to have Bridget’s back should further harm come her way.

His eyes found Davenport once more, legs remaining active as he would react to her every movement. If she stepped forward, he would take a half step back and to the side. If she took a step back, the opposite. Implying there was much left to discuss.

Focusing his wand at her chest, surveying her movements. He would examine Marion not as as some potential suitor, but in search of any signs of weakness, an area to be exploited. Patiently awaiting Martin’s approach. ”I jumped the…wand.” Thomas uttered awkwardly, implying his attack was premature. There were other ways to expose Marion for all to see. Perhaps placing her in the position as an aggressor was the boy’s best chance to achieve just that.

”You’ve been making friends.” Others may not catch the reference, but Marion would understand. Santario, Holmwood, Collins, Gray, Decipio. All tuned into Marion’s reality. Above all, the boy wanted an explanation for Marion’s ramped up activities.

Speaking of Gray, who opted for a playful smack on Victor’s head. Failing to recognize the gravity of the forces he tampered. While his use appeared nonexistent, an impending interaction would define his role this evening. For now? Irrelevant.

There was one thing Thomas would fail to realize. He was not the main character. Even if this newfound band of companions insisted that feeling on his subconscious. He was only a silly reckless boy. Wrapped up in his emotional turmoil, endangering the only friends he does have. Thomas Lestrange just another in a long line of those before him. The next to fall, to be forgotten. Tick, tick, tick. The bong was near.

The part goblin had just returned from the "farm" but he was still clutching a note in his hand, really hoping to give it to Juniper. He was very apologetic, but... Gideon was there. He was handing out candy. Not that anyone was taking it.

Cody wanted candy, but he remembered Juniper mentioning that Gideon was taking her.

Walking up to Gideon, he yelled at him. "WHY IN THE HELL ARE YOU STEALING MY GIRL? FOR ONE, SHE'S SHORTER THAN YOU ARE! TWO, YOU- YOU...." Cody continued stuttering, his words getting fumbled and lost.

"Please don't bother me, don't touch Juniper, don't look at her. If you break those, I'll ignite a fight with you." It would be a physical fight, and perhaps Cody was being rather stupid challenging Gideon, but he was feeling things for Juniper that he didn't when he first met her. Maybe Cody loved her, maybe Cody was actually sick. And he was very delusional.

... yeah right.

He walked away from Gideon, approaching the one who threatened to throw Cody and Page out of a window at Winnie's birthday.

"Thats totally rad dude!" Cody said out of nowhere, hoping to get Nick's attention. Now, if the boy who was wearing flannel wasn't paying attention, it wouldn't matter anyways, as Cody was leaving to the Fall Ball anyways.

"Now, I gotta blaze to the ball. See you totally tubular dudes and dudettes there!" Cody cried to everyone there, but eyeing Gideon a little suspiciously.

"And your outfit complements the blue well," Arjan responded as orange and blue worked well together. It was not planned but now that he thought about it, perhaps it should have been. He accompanied her to the ball, making their way through the crowd without hesitation as he navigated them through it.

Apparently, he had moved a couple of people out of the way, hearing some words of apologies but eh. Of course, people should apologise. They should apologise that he had to touch them to nudge them out of the way. They should have known that they should just move automatically. He guided them further into the ball. There was some chaos happening around - some yelling and loud noises as people seemed to be enjoying the chaos. But he did not really bother with it, not yet anyway. In truth, Arjan had asked her what she wanted to do but he had absolutely no interest in the activities that were messy. Luckily for him, she seemed to be on the same page. With a smirk, he looked down at her and agreed, "I most definitely agree with that statement," He said - thinking more about his own clothes but it could sound like he meant her dress was too pretty to get dirty, if she took it that way.

Looking around, he noticed some areas with mud in the distance. Hard pass. There seemed to be another area (the Fall Ball) that looked like it might contain the dance floor, and far less mud. In all honesty, that was where he was interested in going. However, for now, he stayed hovering by the festival for her. His hazel-brown eyes scanned the room, trying to look for someone. His height worked to his advantage here. He was not the tallest guy in the room, not even close - there seemed to be at least one that massively towered over him - but he was pretty tall compared to quite a few of the participants. It was relatively easy to look over heads when quite a few people were closer to five feet and he was closer to six.

"Looks like some crops over there and mud patches there. So probably best to avoid those areas," He informed her, pointing towards the distance where the radish harvesting or the eel mud patches looked like they might have begun. "We could go to the fall ball, for a dance, or stay here for a bit if you wanted? Oh- Matchmaker booth? " Arjan offered, hoping she agreed to the fall ball so he could woo her over with his dancing skills. As he spoke, he suddenly noticed the sign saying 'matchmaker booth', huh. He did not expect something like that at a harvest festival but he was alright with it.

Well, he would be alright with it if he scored very well with the cute ladies and it convinced them to stay interested in him. Anything short of that was not good enough for him. Was that really a risk he was going to take when he had already successfully got her to go on the date in the first place? Besides, Lydia's name was not the one he was probably interested in writing. But whilst she was there, he could not write anyone else's name. Maybe he could sneak away, claiming he was going to get drinks, and write some names and then return...? Hm.

His head quickly turned, frowning slightly for a second as he did a double-take, as though he had seen someone familiar. For a second, he thought he saw his sister practically dashing past but he could not see her in the crowd anymore. Arjan frowned for a moment, staring into the crowd as he tried to spot her, hoping she was not doing something embarrassingly stupid again. The last time they had really spoken, she was making a huge fool of herself in front of Falentra and Phaedra. But since he could not spot her, he turned his attention back to Lydia to see what she wanted to do.

Andrew Lycan had no idea what in all of Merlin's pants a Power Ranger was. He was dressed as one anyway. Him and his four friends, fondly trademarked as the Ultimate International Student Squad, were all dressed as the Power Ranger. What was a Power Ranger, you ask? Drew didn't know. Why was Drew dressed as something he had no idea about? Drew didn't know that either. But he looked fire enough to go to the ball, so he didn't mind. Cassie, one of his friends, was a muggleborn, and apparently Power Rangers were a muggle thing. She brought up the idea of them going as Power Rangers and had bought them the costumes. Drew had wanted to be the blue one for an obvious reason. Blue was his favorite color.

Ayuma was the pink one, Charles was yellow, Cassie was red, and Rosella was the black one. They truly felt like a squad now. The costume was a little tight, but it was overall very kid-costumey, and not inappropriate in the way that it was tight. It was just... perfect. Drew didn't mind looking ridiculous. In fact, it was fun sometimes to look ridiculous.

Drew came up to join his friends. He seemed to be one of the last to arrive. He grinned at Charles, Cassie, Ayu, and Rosella. Cassie mentioned a water bottle. "Uhhh... no. I'll just lick the dew off of the grass," he joked, smirking at his friends. Though Drew had not brought his own water bottle as some of his friends have, he was not really one able to get super thirty easily. He could go without a drink for, what? Four hours maximum? He had drank some water before he came here, so he wouldn't be parched or anything.

Drew had barely been at the ball for a minute, and he heard a competition ring out. Of course. It was his friends we were talking about, right? Charles hoisted Ayu on his back and ran as fast as he could towards the Ball. Drew rolled his eyes and raced after them, glancing behind him to make sure Rosella and Cassie were following. Charles and Ayu, with a head start, won easily. Cassie protested that it wasn't any fair, and Drew joined in. "I don't think it was fair, either," he added, not really caring that much. "I mean, not only did you get a head start, the power of friendship and teamwork always prevails in the Power Rangers." Drew was guessing, of course. He didn't actually know anything about the Power Rangers, but he could guess.

He was pretty sure friendship was a thing in the Power Rangers.

Drew laughed. "Hopefully it isn't a disaster ball." The last one had apparently been pretty disasterful. As his friends suggested eel catching, Drew straighened up and began to march towards the eel catching place. "Onward, companions!" he exclaimed. That was how Power Rangers talked, right?

Outfit || Pin 1 || Pin 2|| Nail Polish

The mind was strange, a sweeping trail, that followed a river, down memory-lane. Swiftly flooding it way into overthinking alley. It was incredibly dull on Alec's part but he was stuck on that was not all that important. It was the nail polish. Look after he'd seen the white on Hana's nails he was thinking that maybe he should have gone with white as well. It was a nice color and wouldn't have stuck out so much. Then again the reason he'd chosen orange was because of the fall season, orange leaf inspired. It was supposed to stick out because he was getting bored of the blues, and the black, and the white. Yet the second he didn't have it he wanted it. He didn't understand, and he was sort of annoyed he hadn't gone with the black white pattern he'd been thinking about only two days prior. It had been the superior option. Although, his nails kind of reminded him of pumpkin juice.

So maybe it wasn't that bad?

Alec felt his presence was pretty looming and ominous right now. With the nail polish because it stuck out a bit and especially when he'd folded his arms across his chest. He was trying to do the thing where you look as if you care about nothing and everything is stupid, also your judging everything and everyone. Alec was leaning against the nearest thing to him, and people-watching. People were boring as it turns out. Or at least everybody was not doing much. Alec didn't feel like he cared that the one girl over in the one area who was probably whispering to her friend about wanting to wear a red dress. But not being sure if it looked good on her because she felt as if people were just saying it did to be nice. Because blah blah blah and she felt like she'd gotten so many genuine comments on the one she was wearing. Except in reality she had it the wrong way around and her friend didn't really have the heart to tell her and instead just says that she looks great.

Alec did a double take of the area. Okay, that wasn't actually happening, but it felt plausible. He was starting to become invested in looking for that exact scenario when he spotted a certain someone. A certain someone from a certain foreign school. Felix had tried to make nice and make up with Alec for the one colossallittle mistake. Alec still hated Felix, and his stupid face. Of course the second Alec spotted the other, he felt something rising in him.

Very quickly he could feel a sense of-of anger tangling up in his chest. It wasn't just anger but it was the only he felt he had a grip on explaining it. It made him feel sick like something intangible whirling around inside him. Alec became stricken, standing completely straight, and tensing up as if he were a wood board. Staring not so shamelessly at Felix. Outsiders to the situation would likely think much different of what was going on, and thinking whatever the opposite was of your ugly and I'm angry with you and that threat about me punching you still stands. He had practically given permission anyway.

Alec was scowling, also trying to look tough, as he stared at the other letting the anger fester inside him. It took Alec a while to realize something as he stood staring from far away. He looked like a twig compared to Felix! Fshkiriuheg- how the heck did he get so tall?!!! He was wearing stilts like a cheater. Alec could still shove him and make it work. He'd fall off his high-horse, or stilts in this case. ALEC HAD BEEN TALLER THEN HIM. HE SHOULDN'T BE THAT TALL. Alec's eyes were om Felix his face scrunched slightly. He'd hadn't realized he was still so angry with the situation and Felix. Alec bet he could still walk over there and-

"hheeeyyy" Hana. How untimely, that had to be one of the worst times anyone could suddenly show up.

“Oh-hey-” Alec muttered, slightly surprised by Hana's sudden appearance. He avoided eye-contact, and looking at Hana altogether. The commodity to hide under that was false anger Alec himself wasn't aware of, it melted away quickly. Instead leaving Alec feeling downtrodden and defeated about the situation with the foreign kid. Not only that but with feeling generally upset because of the reminder via a face reminder. Adding to it the fact that Alec couldn't figure out why he was upset in the first place and still is. He agreed to he was being unreasonable for a multitude of reasons. He didn't understand why he had a problem with it in the first place but he had and it wasn't going away.

By this point Alec could manage himself better, though he looked slightly frazzled.“Yeah, um, sure,” It wasn't Hana's fault so Alec was trying to go along with everything better. Besides, distractions, they worked wonders on anything ever. Alec glanced back at Felix quickly before they left. Alec could probably go find him and punch him later if distractions didn't turn out to be the miracle cure.

Alec took a deep breath, which was a surprisingly good temporary cure to stupid things like feeling upset, banishing not so fun things away for now. Feeling slightly better Alec gently pulled his sleeves away from Hana's grasp, and laughed, “okay, okay, I'm coming, let's go-” Alec smiled. Admittedly his rapid rate at feeling better may have not just been from taking a deep breath. But it would come down to just needing to find anything that would make him smile a little. Hana was tolerable(nice) enough for that.

Nicholas's fist found purchase, the sudden shock associated with the slamming of bone against bone radiated into his knuckles, through his hand and up into his arm, finally settling in his shoulder. The joint twitched with impact, the force of the blow already sending sharp aches through the limb even as the blow finalised its delivery. Even still, he heard the blow more than he felt it, the crack of the impact, the sound of the bridge of the other boy's noise crunching. It was only as he was swinging that he realised exactly what he had done, that he’d assaulted someone, that he’d probably broken the foreigner’s nose. He’d been reacting based on pure instinct, a bestial desire to protect and to strike out at threats. His fight or flight response had been triggered, and it seemed that he favoured the former.

He didn’t have time to think through what that meant, nor did he have time to process the events as they were unfolding, for no sooner had he struck than an owl came careening toward the would-be conflict and gouged at Aurora. Nicholas’s face turned deathly white, the sick sense of worry that he felt for his date sending his stomach into knots, the tumult of emotions taking him over like the maelstrom of myth. Unfortunately, that meant that praise of one Cody Stevenson, a small gremlin-like boy who Nicholas had once threatened to assault was lost on him. Tunnel vision had overtaken the Gryffindor once again, all he could focus on was the ringing sound in his head, everything else was secondary. Even the muttering of the boy who he had quite literally just punched went unnoticed. There were far, far more pressing concerns.

The cowardly prat had opted to send his pet after Aurora and not the boy who had actually struck him. He’d ordered the bird to assault a girl who had done nothing violent to him, in some desperate ploy almost certainly. A bird that he spoke to with the sort of tone and intonation that implied a relationship that seemed entirely peculiar to share with an animal. Yet, he supposed some students constantly spoke to their pets as if they were babies and carried them everywhere that a teacher would not allow.

The chittering of the bird and its master was of secondary concern to Nicholas, especially given the far more primary matters he needed to deal with.

Turning his attention from the owl and its master, Nicholas instead focused on the Ravenclaw to his side.

“Are you ok?” He spoke hurriedly, he reached out with his hand, the one that he’d just used to do violence. Another purpose would be found for the instrument, that of healing. His intention was to grab the girl’s wounded hand, should she so allow, and examine the wound. He had no idea what he was looking for. The only other time he’d witnessed an owl attack his mother had dealt with the brutality of it.

Nicholas really hated owls.

“Does it hurt? Christ, I don’t have anything to help with this. Are you sure you’re ok?” The speed of his words was testament to the panic in them. He could handle taking a hit himself, but seeing the girl take a blow that she hadn’t earned had rocked his psyche. It wasn’t fair. Part of him wanted to protect her from further harm. Another part wanted to finish what he’d started and send the American straight back to Ilvermorny in a casket.

“You absolute gobshite,” Nicholas growled, his attention turning back to Zuheir, “Sicking your owl on her when she ‘aint done anything to you. She doesn’t deserve that, you twice-bleeding git. What the bloody hell is wrong with you, man? Not enough people to mess with across the pond so you have to come start shite here?”

The boy’s eyes flickered back to Aurora, his voice somewhat calmer, his accent less heavy as he spoke to her, “You ok?” He couldn’t stop himself from asking once more, old awkwardness rearising, “What do you want to do?”

“H-HEY WHAT THE-“ In swift motion, the pepper spray was back inside the secret bag as she closed the little zipper of her dress (forgot to mention it beforehand lol but her dress has a little zipper thing so she doesn’t have to literally pull up her skirt because that seems inappropriate). A loyal owl attacked her out of nowhere. What is he? A bird master? Then she felt a familiar feeling. The same feeling as that time near the forest when shards of glass punctured her skin, causing a red liquid gushed through her ripped flesh. She squeezed Nicholas’ hand as her eyes watched her not very straight anymore middle finger, in other word, it was broken.

When a person is clearly suffering and someone asks them whether they are okay or not, it just going to make them cry. That was exactly what happened to Aurora. She was trying to act though and mighty in front of her date and the American while wincing through the pain. “Mhmm” Frantically nodded as she let out a cracked voice, her grip on nicholas’ hand intensified as if she was trying to crush it. The other hand was raised, middle finger up, broken and bloodied. It was like giving someone the finger but unintentionally, and in this case, this someone was the one and only Nicholas McCowan. She’d let him admire and touch the masterpiece that the random owl had made. The focus of her eyes shifted between her finger and Nicholas, trying to tell him that this was a piece of cake to handle although her attempt to hold back the little sobs and spilling ocean was a total failure.

Different emotions rushed in her vein. Happiness, yes, as odd as it sounded, she was extremely ecstatic knowing that the boy actually cared for her well being. Anger, but even though the desire to land a nice punch onto the bird, it was just a creature that tried to protect its owner. No matter how violent the girl can be, animal abuse is off the list. But again, there was no way she would let anyone see her crumble, especially with that smug on the stranger’s face. Aurora let out a laugh while whimpering in pain. “O-owl be f-fine” Blame the owl and the broken finger for the pun. Before all of this happened, the rose on her cheeks was out of a pleasant experience, but at that time, both the hurtful attack and the suppression of tears were the culprit.

Does it hurt? What do you think, sir Nicholas? It’s snapped in half but not literally. “Mhmm” Despite the confirmation of the pain she was in, the girl was shaking her head. For now, Aurora would just let her date do all of the insults and violence. Who would have thought being protected is a nice feeling. The aim for tonight was to prevent Nicholas from getting hurt, and yet, he was the one doing the job even though he failed miserably.

Healing spell was still unknown to the girl’s knowledge, and she wouldn’t do any more experiments, especially on herself, knowing that it wouldn’t work the way she wanted to. Her first victim was Winnie Harper, back when she wanted to treat her wound by casting the blindfolding spell on the redhead’s leg, and honestly, the Ravenclaw was still bummed that it didn’t work. Probably leaving it to the more experienced would be a better idea. “m-maybe we could just go to the tent-“ If she wasn’t hallucinating, for a split second, the figure that resembled the new defense against the dark arts professor was nearby, maybe he was going to watch the choir or sell his sweets in the pitch. True, there was no adult worth trusting in Hogwarts, but he seemed to love chocolate, thus, he couldn’t be all bad. “-I think- I think I saw the Honeydukes Professor walking there, he m-might know what to do with t-“ she raised her middle finger higher, “-this.”

If Nick would agree to just leave the boy and his owl and just go to the next ball area, she would lean in and whisper in his ear. “I don’t think he knows the difference between an owl and a dove.” And of course, not forgetting to take a mental note, Harry and the owl, into the death list.

Instead of waiting for her date, Percival, Ileen rushed to help her friends - though she didn't know what was going on. All she knew was that Bridget and Victor had been casting spells. She couldn't quite grasp the situation as she squeezed through the crowd to the boy on whom her eyes were fixed. She had not seen Marion and Lestrange clash. She hadn't seen Bridget try to intervene or that it had been Victor who had frozen her dueling co-captain. Her view had too often been blocked by older students, but when she came to a skidding halt beside Victor, all she saw was his raised wand and the brown-haired girl standing frozen, her own wand held tightly in her hand.

Ileen did not question the situation for a second. There were few people she trusted, but Bridget was definitely one of them. Victor had been tortured and finally killed before her eyes. He was certainly the victim of the attack. That was out of the question for her. Those were the two people she would trust to be on her side in any battle.
Her eyes wandered over the people, but she couldn't spot anyone who had attacked them. That they had tried to protect their classmates was the only thing Ileen could think of, and hastily she looked around for an urgent external danger. Maybe weird shadows or creeping darkness...? She didn't even think about them fighting against each other.

As she didn't spot anything she turned back to them, worried and concerned about their situation. "What happened? Are you okay?" Concerned and still rushed, she turned to her two classmates, ready to fight with them against whatever. Her eyes scanned first Victor and then Bridget. Instinctively she looked for injuries. But there was nothing...
It took her a second to realize that Bridget was probably under a spell and would not be able to answer her question. Confused, she frowned, raised her wand and cast the spell to free her.

"Step back! She did something to him." That was not what she wanted to hear upon arriving at the ball but she did not have to be told twice. She took a few steps backwards, hopefully out of harms reach but still close enough to hear what transpired.

This certainly was not the time to admire her date, but she couldn't not help but glance at him from head to toe. Black certainly suited him well. Well tailored, the boy looked striking and dangerous. Far different from the timid student who approached her at the quidditch match. Far more confident as well, at least in appearance since he did not seem to struggle to find his words, instead speaking with confidence and certainty.

"Epoximise!" "Expelliarmus!" Shouts emanated from from Jürgen and some other boys mouths, one directed at the large student protecting Erin, the other directed at her date. It certainly did not take long for chaos to erupt everywhere. She had no time to observe the other events unfolding around her, eyes fixated on the action in front of her. Jürgen had managed to glue the half-giants feet to the ground, but was not quick enough to avoid the disarming spell aimed directly at him. His wand left his hands and he was vulnerable. What is Odins name is going on? Unaware of the change happening inside of Erin, the reason for her dates adamant mindset and attack was unclear to the girl.

"Someone explain what is going on here please!?' Her plea may go unheard, but she had to try and understand the situation. "Jürgen. One of you other boys. Someone talk. For once think with your brains and not wands." Why was it that everyone at this school resorted to attacks during any conflict rather than discussion. You would swear that as soon as one learned magic they lose all sensibility.
