Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor: Match 3
And... hit! Lamik could have celebrated at his first successful cast of the season, but he was quickly distracted by a spell sent his way. He was ready for that, of course, so he managed to step out of the way in time. What he wasn't ready for was the second spell, sent by Lily, evidently a knockback jinx, which hit him on the shoulder. He was nearly knocked off of his feet but managed to hold his ground. His shoulder did hurt quite a bit though. "Rude..." he muttered. His mood quickly shifted back to a smug cheerfulness though as smoke enveloped the stage. "It's time to shine, Everly!"

The smoke would stay thick in the air causing the Ravenclaw some eyeline problems, and while it would be, even if it had affected the Gryffindors, it was not. The Gryffindors had blind vision and would not be as hindered, but that wouldn’t stop Lamik from restricting himself. He would feel it as he cast something wasn’t correct, and instead of the blazing blue light shooting through the din of the smog, it would rebound back at him taking his breath away with it.
Everly would see that fortune would favor her once again, as did seem to be the habit when San oversaw her duels. Not only had her fumos been a critical success last round, but this round, her spell casting was so on point Lily would not stand a chance. Lily would no doubt attempt to move in a direction, but it would seem as if Everly had read her mind and pre-directed her spell there. Besides being engulfed by flames, Lily would find her own robes' shoulder was also on fire.
A curse of the bogies would be fired from Lily’s wand towards where she thought Lamik was standing, but she would not be able to see if she had actually hit him or not. Cade was on his guard and prepared for anything. Which would have been good had any spells actually come in his direction.

@Lily Cooper | @Everly Charlton | @Lamik FillestarCade would take evasive action, still feeling a bit woozy from the last round, and not being able to see very far made him feel a little vulnerable at best so he opted to be on guard. However, that idea immediately proved unnecessary as no spell came. Even though Cade was sure he heard Lamik say some sort of incantation towards him. Whatever happened, perhaps the spell failed or even worse, backfired! Cade hoped it was the latter, they could surely use that upper hand. So Cade would return to his feet a little befuddled as he squinted through the heavy fog. He was about to call out and check on Lily when suddenly blue flames swept to their side instantly catching on his dueling partner. The Ravenclaw wizard would gasp. No matter how many times he saw Incendio being used, it never failed to worry him. "Alright, Lily? Hang in there, we're nearly there." Cade tried to throw her a few remarks of confidence before once again rounding on their competitors.

Was it that he was too confident? Was it just a mess up? Whatever it was, the outcome was the same: Pain. Was this what it was like when others were hit by his spells? If so, Lamik may have started feeling sorry for them. In any case, he did his best to restore his footing, tried to ignore the pain, and wracked his brain for what to do next.

The smoke from her spell the previous round had settled over the group of four, making it quite difficult for the others to see. Everly took this opportunity to aim at Lily, the first spell to shoot towards the Ravenclaw girl that duel. Perhaps it was the fog surrounding them, or maybe Everly’s aim was just getting better, but she somehow was able to anticipate exactly where Lily would go, and with satisfaction, her Incendio Duo landed its mark. She heard Lamik exclaim an incantation of his own, but no light flew towards the Ravenclaws. Everly winced. “You okay?” she called out to her partner.

It would seem that Ravenclaw was going to get the short end of the stick this round; the only boon would be for, Lily. Not only would Lily be able to extinguish the flames on her robes, but she would also dodge an extremely powerful Incendio headed her way. The last thing the poor girl needed was to be set on fire once more. That particularly intense Incendio had been cast by non-other than her duelling partner Cade. Whether it was the smoke in his eyes or being slammed into with a Flipendo cast by Lamik. This would be where Lily’s luck stopped, and Everly’s Flipendo slammed into her as well. It would appear that for the moment, Gryffindor had the high ground.

Lamik was still reeling from his failed spell. It hurt much more than he would have expected, and that made focusing rather hard. Things were back to looking good though. The smokescreen spell that had been so helpful was almost clearing, which might bode poorly for the future, but at least right now he and Everly were doing quite well.

The flames were gone, snuffed out - Everly hadn’t expected Lily to leave them burning for long. She sent another Flipendo in the Ravenclaw’s direction, a small smile spreading when she’d figured it hit. The Fumos had begun to fade out. Everly was surprised at how long it had stuck around, but soon the other two would be able to see properly again, within the next few rounds.

@Lily Cooper | @Everly Charlton | @Lamik FillestarCade's heart nearly leaped out of its ribcage when the initial adrenaline rush from casting a strong fire spell arched and swept its way towards Lily instead. Cade blamed his dizziness and lack of sight, but he was relieved Lily had somehow managed to dodge the spell. "Sorry!" Cade didn't have the time to check in on her but managed to be distracted enough to miss the well-aimed jinx coming his way. Suddenly he was thrown into the air only to land awkwardly on his legs, spraining his knee. "Gah!" The Ravenclaw threw a seething gaze through the clearing smokescreen spell towards the Gryffindors. Nursing his leg before shakily getting back to his feet, putting weight on the stronger leg. And leveling his wand, Cade would prepare himself.
