The Chronicals NaNo

Hi hi! So this world I'm going to write about wasn't totally all me. It was actually created with my two best friends back in Elementary school, and we would talk about what the characters would do when we were in bad situations. Anyway, it became a game. Each day after school, we would lay out the characters through their adventures, and along the way, others joined us. We called our imaginary team "The Chronicles." We had a handful of people join our game until the team grew both IC and OOC. After elementary school, we split up. One of my two best friends tried to convince us to go to the school of arts for acting with him, but we refused. He got accepted, and I ended up going to a different Middle school than the other best friend. So now, I want to bring back what we had started. Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

The Chronicals NaNo
The name of this world is called Regnum Crystal, or Kingdom of the Crystal. The land itself is split into 6 different regions, fire, ice, Earth, water, and metal. It was argued over the topic if metal should have it's own region, but it was decided it should. The 6th area is in the middle of the map, a place where people from each different place come to mingle together as one. In the realm of ice, Glacies, everyone has an element. Not everyone has power, however, which is anything to do with ice or snow. People who show signs of power go to a special school in the land in the middle where all the elements mix. The area is powered by a single crystal, a power crystal, which is kept and well guarded in the palace. The weather. as you might guess, is always cold and/or snowing. Around this area is an invisible border that keeps the land from melting or getting affected by the other realms in bad ways. Fighting here is also taught, and people use a variety of sources. Like the people of Terra, these people are very resourceful.

Terra, the Nature area, is ruled by Mother Nature herself. Just like Glacies, there is a power crystal that powers that area. The weather there shifts, but there is plenty of Nature. Grass, meadows, and trees. The people live in cities up in the trees, and people who come from here are natural tree climbers. Like the rest of the areas, not everyone shows signs of magic or powers. The people here supply wood and crops for the rest of the realms. There are plenty of animals here, and everyone shows great communication with animals, even those without powers. People here are mainly vegetarian. This land also has an invisible barrier, as it is positioned next to the land of fire. The people here are known for being sneaky and quiet, they are light on their feet. People handcraft bows here and are skilled archers, as well as blending in.

Ignis, the land of fire, is as hot as can be. The people here show great and unbelievable resistance to heat and fire, and their best friend is the land of iron and metal. They trade back and forth with the land of Iron and Metal. It's usually night in Ignis, but the heat from fires all around is hot enough. They don't grow plants here, instead, they mainly use lava rocks and such. Their source of lighting is fire orbs, which are created by those with magic. Their crystal is heavily guarded in a fortress surrounded by fire, which will harm anyone except for those with a certain badge. The ruler here lives in a big castle with the shape of a volcano. In fact, many believe it once was a volcano. People here do know how to fight, and are good people to have on your side. They proved their loyalty years and years ao by siding with Mother Nature and the rest of the Elements, so this place is highly trusted.

Aqua, the land of water, is possibly one of the topmost best places for vacation. With a beachy environment, many people are extremely friendly. Half live under the water in the Ocean, while the other half chose to live by the Beach and stunning beach houses. Their crystal is located underwater in a palace with the king himself. And no, the people aren't mermaids. They can just live underwater, it's not a power, it's in their blood. You can buy many things from there, including hand-crafted shell necklaces. Children here usually don't have much skill in war, however. Few people actually learn how to fight, which is something they learn by choice. The man skill for fighters are using tridents, but they can also make great nets for traps.

Then, there is the land of metal and iron. Unlike the rest of the realms, there are no bridges leading in and out. The name is Ferrum. Not only is there metal and iron, but there is coal. People here typically work in the mines and have dust-covered streets. Their houses, however, are strong and big. They are skilled weapon and armor makers, and people here do have muscle. The problem with this place is that it is shady. Very shady. There is history showing a connection with the Dark Cloud (who I will talk about later). Children who descend from the Dark Cloud usually live here. People here are loud and can be violent. You want them on your side, that's obvious. Their Crystal was lost years ago, and people believe the Dark Cloud has it. People from here rarely have powers or magic at all. People here are great at surviving and practice emergency protocols weekly. In schools, children learn defense early on.

There is Pluvia. This place is the realm of weather. It is a kingdom up in the clouds, but everyone must be cautious about people from here. First off, their path to the Earth is through the land of Iron. Second, they are located next to the Dark Cloud's kingdom, tenebris. Pluvia does not know how to fight unless you count zapping people with lightning. Their crystal is surrounded by clouds, and the people here are made fun of by the tougher realms. People typically have powers here, but they rarely use it. Their homes are made of clouds, and things are peaceful here.

tenebris. This is the kingdom of the Dark Cloud. The people here live in the shadows, and are driven by envy and revenge. They want power and will do anything to get it. They are great actors, and have silk words that can convince anyone into doing anything. They can hack into any database, and can sneak anywhere they please. Fighting? That's an instinct here. They are loyal to the Dark Cloud, and would do anything for him.

Then there is the land in the middle. Here, there is the Elemental school. People from everywhere come and learn here and how to use their powers. It is true that fights break out, with hot-tempered people getting used to people who are very different. You learn not only academic things, but also how to gift properly and how to survive in other elements. There is a president here, who takes orders from the rest of the leaders. The school accepts people once they are 13 years of age.

The Chronicals NaNo
Ivy Nature was born on Earth day, on a very sunny day in fact. It was in the morning, the birds were singing, and fairies were probably gossiping about her birth somewhere. Why? Because she's the daughter of an element. The daughter. Her mother is mother nature herself. Interesting, is it not? Her mother is rarely there to take care of her, but that's okay. Ivy has always been tough even though she grew up with woodland fairies waiting on her, her whole entire life. She's always gotten what she's wanted, it was that simple. The first year of her life, many fairies and woodland creatures came to bless the "princess". Gifts were left at the gates of their palace, and Ivy was brought to special day care where she made flowers sprout from the ground every time she sneezed.

The second year of her life, she began to show her warrior side. When someone tried to steal her toy, you could see her slapping the other baby in the face. The people who watched over the babies always tried not to let Ivy out of their sight. She was yanking hair at just the age of two! She didn't like when people said no to her.

At age three, she began to talk and walk. Pretty early for many people in this realm, yet she did it. Maybe she was tired of constantly crawling, but she pushed herself once day and walked a few foot before falling. But she had done it. Everyone clapped, of course. At the palace, she would sometimes go missing and then would be found later in the garden singing to the flowers. Cute, no?

At age 5, she had started talking to animals. When her maid found her, she claimed that the animal's 'name was catnip and he liked extra buttery biscuits" It was random, too random to of been made up. It was a rare talent, but it wasn't a surprise. In fact, people expected this from the daughter of mother nature herself. Would you not?

She began to go to school where she learned everything she needed to know. She showed great leadership skills and somehow got a group of kids to follow her everywhere. They would pretend to be super heros, and little did Ivy know she would actually do some saving later on in her life.

At 8 years old, she was climbing trees at great speed and communicating with plants to do as she said. During hide and go seek tag, whenever she was found she would run run run, until vines shot down from a tree and scooped her out of reach. It was funny activity because no one could every catch her. And for those that could climb fast after her, she would just leap from tree to tree taunting them until gave up.

At 13 years old, she was ready to go to a specific school in the middle realm. She wanted to learn to be a warrior and a superhero. Well, fewer capes but more saving lives with her powers. She would expand her leadership skills and form a group, she was sure of it. "Don't worry, mom, I'll kick some dark-cloud butt for you and send it in a letter sealed with flowers"was the last thing she said before she got on the flower express. She sends letters to her mom every single day, for she still loves her even though she's so busy going to meetings deep in the forest.

She has tan skin, and bright green eyes. Her ears have a slight point, because mother nature has elf blood in her. She has chestnut brown hair that reaches her shoulders. She usually wears in down, but sometimes she'll wear a pony tail. Her signature outfit is a green shirt with a fancy leaf on it with jeans. She wears a power crystal around her neck, which she uses for many things.

She's also developed a talent for building because of a class she takes in the middle realm. She was the student who caught a spy from the dark cloud and reprogramed him to be good. (he was a robot) Her power crystal also keeps that robot boy from being possessed with dark magic.

Her voice is slightly deep, and it's smooth like. Listening to it will remind you of liquid dark chocolate being poured into a bowl. It doesn't make sense, but it's true.

She will also likely punch you, keep that in mind. Since she's 15 years old, she's seen a lot. Her team actually formed when they were 13, where they were thrown into danger too early off, but came out alive. Since then her and her team has joined the advanced fighting classes.

Her best friend in the entire world has about as much sass as her, maybe a lot more. Ivy appreciates sass and sarcasm, but it's also her job to keep peace between people. She'll play the peace keeper if she must, but drama is always welcome in her life. She was sort of born into it, anyway.

Her dad, who's name is unknown, actually went missing the year she turned 11. The mystery remains unknown, but Ivy spends her free time trying to find clues to where he went. She knows, just knows, he's out there somewhere. She swears she see's his eyes in some of the birds at her window.

She's convinced that the unique songs from the rare birds are from her father. When she was younger they sang together. She's ready to beleive anything, anything is a sign from him that he's still alive. She remembers he was a spy. And with that, comes danger. She knows he could of been caught and held captive, but sometimes she gets mad at her mom for not doing anything. But her mom has her role. Her dad has his. And he knew it was dangerous. But Ivy's determined to find him, then slap him.

The Chronicals NaNo
the story starts off in Ivy's room. As she neatly folds her clothes, she listens to music. She loves music. She dances as she stuffs everything in her suit case, not at all sad to leave. In fact, she's been waiting for this day for a long long time. Her maid knocks on her door again, reminding her that they need to leave soon, very soon. Ivy is excited to leave, which she states, and her maid nods to this. Ivy grabs her bags and heads out the door, her maid following behind her. Since Ivy was leaving, her mom cancelled her meetings to say goodbye. Her mom doesn't look worried, and Ivy wonders if it's just a cover. You can never tell with her mom. Her mom is in human form, meaning she is roughly the size of an adult. Even so, her beauty is notable as she holds Ivy's face in her hands and gives her a kiss. "Be careful, and enjoy yourself." She says, and Ivy promises she will. Ivy took the power crystal off her neck to give to her mom, but her mom hurridly shoves it back in Ivy's hands. After a couple of more goodbyes, she leaves the palace to head to the flower bus.

Ivy's never taken this before, it's only to be used to pass between realms. She doesn't know much about it either, and is at first confused when she walked into an open field. A handful of other kids her age looked around, as confused as she was. From the ground a man with dark skin, green eyes, and pointed ears, welcomes them. He was most likely an elf. He explains that the flower bus connects to all realms, but it was created here. From the ground sprouts a train looking object made of wood, moss, and flowers. There were many carts, and each seemed to hold 4 people. No cart had a roof, Ivy noted, as she climbed into one. The elf got at the front and the flower bus started, and everyone cheered.

Instead of taking the first path to the middle realm, they turned right to the realm to their left. Ivy asked why they were going that way, and the elf nervously replied that there was a change in directions. Ivy wondered about this as they drove, picking up more kids. Was it possible that their path leading to the middle realm broke? It was impossible, it was built by magic. Ivy watches the view, until about 30 minutes later the environment changes.

People are crowded around the path, waving to welcome the soon to be heros in training. Ivy can't help but smile. She turns her head to look behind her, and a few feet back is another train, except made of ice and snow. In front of them is one made of lava rocks, then in front of that, one made of metal, and then one made of seashells and coral. She looked around at the tall buildings, this place seemed to be loaded with money. There was technology she's never seen before, and buildings of various elements. Young kids looked through windows to wave at the arrivals.

They arrive at the school, which is probably the biggest building she's seen so far. A lady stands at the entrance, smiling warmly. Ivy couldn't tell what element she was, but she clearly was the headmistress. She radiated power. She welcomed them, and gave a long speech. Ivy whispered with a few kids, since the speech was so boring. After that, they were directed to dorms.

Ivy was surprised to see that they weren't sorted by elements. It was completely random. She was paired with a girl from the ice realm, who had a lot of attitudes.

They began classes the next day, and Ivy had history first. It was boring. Then she had fighting class, where it was rumored that the teacher once was a spy. She was curious to see him, he might of known her father. However, when she walked in there was no teacher. Strange. The headmistress was called down to investigate, and Ivy was disappointed. On the first day her teacher was a no-show.

About 2 months into the year, she made plenty of friends. She formed a little group. One night, the teachers all seemed very nervous. At midnight, there was an earthquake. A slight one. Few students woke up, it was so little. But it happened. And it rarely did.

When everyone woke up, there was dust clouds way off in the distance, stationed exactly where the bridges should of been. Ivy couldn't see the realms, but she knew one thing. The bridges were down. They were stuck here.

It was then that she reached to feel the power crystal, which she never took off, for comfort. But it wasn't there. She panicked, and practically turned the room upside down with the help from her roommate looking for it. But it was gone.

The headmistress was told, and a search went throughout the school. If they managed to have a hold of at least one power crystal, they could rebuild the bridges. But it was nowhere to be found.

Weeks later, there was another boom. The students rushed outside to see that the element fountain had been blown to bits. This was a shock, since it was supposed to be extremely well protected. It was a monument, and it was said that the warrior's spirits from long ago looked over all the realms from this fountain.

Now there was no denying it, there was a master plan going on. And they were too late to stop it.

There was a new curfew, and guards surrounded the school and every single entrance to the middle realm. At midnight, all the lights would go out in the city, and come back on again to find one guard a sleep. It was a deep sleep spell.

Ivy and her group knew that something had to be done.

The Chronicals NaNo
1.
Her group of friends was, well, very important to her. Her best friend in the entire world, Winter, met her on the first day. Fun fact, they didn't like each other at first. No, not one bit. One of them was too messy, too loud, to clean, to sassy, to much like the other... They bonded when a girl, Mia, was getting bullied. Her only power was shapeshifting. The person bullying Mia was named "glimmer" Weird name. She was from the metal realm, and she was always shady. She had pale skin and jet black hair. Her eyes were grey, and she was tall and lean. Since that day, she's been Ivy's enemy. Ivy actually shoved her into a wall while Winter slapped her. Winter and Ivy didn't realize the other was there, so it was a funny thing later on. Mia became friends with the girls, but Glimmer hated Ivy.

During class, she tried to top Ivy and Winter. She would trip them, shove them, and pour water on their homework. She wanted to make their life hell. However, things got heated during a fighting class when the two girls were paired. Glimmer was trying all these shady spells, and Winter left her partner to assist her friend. People believe that Glimmer was actually trying to kill Ivy.

And so the prank wars started. Ivy would leave spiders in Glimmer's bed, glue in her shoes, poison Ivy in her clothes, and fire ants in her sock drawer. It was all payback. Glimmer would leave thumbtacks all over Winter's and Ivy's floor, she would seal their doors with metal, she would love hot iron on their school books to melt the pages, it was bad. Ivy once went to the headmistress claiming that Glimmer HAD to be a spy, she was so evil.

The headmistress dismissed this, it was normal for rivalries such as this to happen at that school. Ivy considered yelling at the headmistress. But she knew this was a horrible ideas. The bridges might be destroyed, but Ivy would be kicked out. And she hated the thought if getting kicked out more than she hated Glimmer.

They got detention for it, too. They had to join the guards every night for a week. It was a dangerous task, but they survived the nights. Strangely enough, Winter once got attacked one night with the rest of her guards. But she had panicked and shot her burning ice, which left three sleeping guards frozen and one... frozen shadow? Another night, Glimmer's post was attacked, except she was left with nothing but a black eye and a swollen wrist. However, Ivy's post was never attacked.

This made Glimmer more bitter towards Ivy, and she would tease her during school hours, which didn't bother Ivy so much as long as she didn't try and hurt her. Winter always seemed to be breathing down Glimmer's neck, making sure she didn't try any funny stuff. Winter believed Ivy when she said Glimmer must be a spy, and she was mad at the headmistress for not believing her friend.

Glimmer has a group of her own that torments Ivy's friend group. They are all enemies, and in Ivy's friends eyes, Glimmer is the villain of their story. They never expected to meet the dark cloud one day.

2. Flame Volcano. For a power such as his, he was pretty dim himself. His hair was literal flames, and he seemed to think himself cool. But he was amusing, and Ivy sort of enjoyed his stupid presence. Winter, however, hated Flame with all her guts. They were always arguing! Seriously, you would think them to be siblings, the way they're always snapping at each other and slapping each other and grumbling at each other. Actually, that was mainly Winter. Flame was sort of always confused and dazed when she slapped him. He really was dumb. The thing is, he is the son of the fire realm's king. So he was sort of like Ivy and Winter. Winter was the daughter of the Ice element queen, and so the three kids had more power than the rest because of it. Maybe that's why they sort of ended up meeting each other? Their parents are very good friends.

Ivy met him in the courtyard, where she was talking to some flowers. He fell in love with her at first site. (eww!) He walked over, munching on a bag of lava rocks as if they were chips. He offered her some, which she politely refused. He always claimed that Ivy loved him at first sight, though he never admits he likes her. Instead, he claims that Ivy is like his best friend (at this part, Winter glares daggers at him) and that he would do just about anything for herm (except risk his life, Winter grumbles)

He sort of followed her around and tried to talk to her. He would sit with her and her friends at lunch just to talk to her, and even set Glimmer's hair on fire to amuse Ivy. He sort of grew on her. Anyway, it was obvious that he liked her, but Ivy didn't have a crush on him back. It was sad, but he would never give up.

He bought her her favourite snacks during lunch when she didn't have money, helped her with homework when she needed it, and did what she said. He pretty much invited himself to her group, but he fits nicely in the role of the "annoying friend."

The thing is, Ivy has to play peace keeper a lot between Flame and Winter. It get's annoying since they're constantly arguing even though they're both in the same friend group. Stupid, isn't it? To be fair, Flame did sit next to Winter one day while trying to talk to Ivy, and burned her food. Maybe they didn't get along very well is because they're the opposite elements.

But mainly, Winter can tell Flame likes Ivy, but she knows he's stupid. She wants her friend to get a nice, funny, and smart guy and not some dull, self loving, stupid guy.

The Chronicals NaNo
Winter Frost is pretty cold, inside and out. Thought Ivy was tough? No, Winter here can teach you what tough is. Some people say sarcasm is like a second language to them, but to Winter, she was born speaking sarcasm. She's got a shockingly bright blonde hair that's straight, like straw. She doesn't care much about her looks. She has pale skin and bright blue eyes, like a lake in the middle of winter. Her main power is anything to do with Winter. She grew up as an only child, but she likes to fight for what she wants. Once, at a birthday party, there was one cookie left. Another girl told Winter she could have it, but Winter demanded they fought for it. The girl repeated that Winter should take it, and Winter once again said she'd fight her for it. The girl walked away and Winter left the cookie, since there was no point eating it if she didn't win it.

She always believed she would go to the school for elemental powers, and she told people all about it. Luckily, she was accepted into the school. That would of been embarrassing had she been declined.

Her best friend is Ivy. Winter is extremely loyal and just wants the best for her friend. She'll hit any one her friend tells her to, but that rarely happens. Boring! Her main style is black jeans, combat boots, and a bright blue shirt. How does that even match? She makes it work. Matching is for pretty girls anyway. Winter likes to follow her own rule, blades before babes. She loves to fight with swords when she gets the chance, but the saying mainly means that boys smell like Crap, at to stay away from them. Or at least never get googly eyes for them. She's a strong independent girl.

The Chronicals NaNo
Flame Volcano is... well, not a pretty boy, per say. But he sure thinks here pretty. If he didn't love Ivy, he might of just dated a mirror. He really doesn't want to be lonely, but he also thinks that ever girl flirts with him. Maybe that's why he's so horribly single? Flame was born in a large castle made from an old volcano, so he likes to call himself a prince, and he'll ask girls to be his queen. Which if you actually think about those words, he sounds even dumber than he looks.

Yeah, his hair is literal flames, which he uses as an excuse to call himself smoking hot. Then he thinks he's funny, and he scares even more girls away. He's best at using extremely cringy and stupid pick up lines that always fail miserably. His fails are entertaining, so he gains at least some friends who like to keep him around.

Of course he thinks the friends are only because of his "charm".

So back to his life. He was also born an only child, but he liked being waited on. In fact, he always thought that people were there to help him and him only. It got embarrassing for his parents when he walked up to strangers and requested a hot chocolate out of no where.

Since he thinks he's sooo cool, he likes to wear ripped jeans, black boots, a red shirt, and a leather jacket. To add to the fringe fest, he wears Hades with little flames on the sides, and likes to put them on and run his hands through his fiery hair when girls are around. He's basically a walking cringe fest. But you know what? He can be funny, and he's protective. The silly boy has good strength that comes in handy.
