Grandparents, okay, good, he was safe, and that is what mattered in the end. “Hey, hey, hey. It is going to be okay, Quinn.” He squeezed her hand, and she tried to smile at him, but in reality, her heart just broke for him more, but at least it was him here with her. She didn’t mind talking to Harlin, but it was always worrisome when Harlin was milling about just because of what it said about Quinn’s general well-being.

“You would never be any trouble if you visited. I promise.” His hand squeezed hers again, and it hurt a lot, but she tried to internalize the pain as much as she could so he wouldn’t notice it. Something she was getting better at from being in duelling. “I want you to breathe with me, okay? Take a long deep breath in through your nose and let it out slowly through your lips, okay?” Santario would demonstrate and breathe with him. The next thing she would do was take the sleeves of her robe and start wiping his face.

It might soak her sleeves through, but she didn’t care; what she needed to do was calm him down enough so that he could feel safe and get him back to his common room. She figured a nap might do him some good. “When you are ready, you should let me walk you back to your common room; maybe you can have a nap too?” Sleeping after crying always made her feel a little better, so maybe it would help him too.

With a soft shaky nod. He thanked the young Slytherin again and apologized for any damage he may have caused. It'd take a few more minutes before he was calm enough to actually unfurl himself and look to Santario. His face was still a mess and eyes a puffy red tear streaked disaster. He then slowly stood towering easily above Santario.

What a mess, it all felt like a dream at times. A terrible, horribly realistic and vivid dream. But Santario was right and she made good points even if he didn't totally agree. Then again? He wasn't in the best mental state. So as he looked down trying to look as serious as he could he began to speak. Though his voice was barely above a whisper yet still loud enough for her to hear him.

"San...I can...naet thank you enough. And I...well..." He took a breathe he didn't even know why he was saying this. But felt like he needed to say it. Something was possessing him seemingly to say this. "Ah give ye my word that whenever you need help no matter where it will lead. You will always have a friend to back you up. No matter what." It wasn't a lie. He still didn't know why he said it but he felt happy he did and with that fell silent simply extending a hand.

Now ready to leave.

Santario smiled kindly up at her friend and his proclamation of loyalty. “There is no need to thank me, truly, it is what friends are for. Just remember you are worth more than you feel you are.” As he extended his hand, Santario would take it even though it was bound to be comical in appearance. His hand would no doubt dwarf hers, but that didn’t matter. “Now let us get you back so that you may rest. You deserve it.”

Santario would take the time to walk with her friend down to his common room, ensuring he got dropped off as far as she was allowed to take him before taking her leave. It would require her to detour back up to the duelling room to acquire her bookbag before heading back down to the dungeons. Thankfully hiking up and down the mass amounts of stairs was something that Santario was well used to by now. In fact, being back at home where there were not as many stars was far odder to her. A thought that made her chuckle out loud as she paused in front of the Slytherin entrance giving the password that would allow her entry.
