New Friends?
Reducio
@Cody Stevenson - I thought I'd make our thread open in case anyone else wanted to join! I hope this is okay
Also, hai to all other years! Feel free to join in!
Annie couldn't believe it. She was a Gryffindor!
She sat down at the table in a kind of daze, hearing the welcoming cheers of the older students as they clapped her on the back and asked for her name. She hadn't expected everyone to be so friendly. She settled herself near the end of the bench and twisted her hands in her lap. This was surreal. She didn't know what to do with herself. Mum had never told her how grand everything was, how magical the entire Castle felt. She was only now realising that she'd felt this magic before, many times around her mother, but only now realising that it was what it was.
A part of Annie ached as she imagined her father's face. He would have loved this. She wished she could take a photo on her phone and send it to him, but muggle technology didn't seem to agree with the magic here. She looked across the table and smiled nervously at a fellow Gryffindor. who looked just as scared as Antoinette felt.
Gryffindor. Wow. She was a lion! Annie had felt sure she'd be sorted into Hufflepuff. Would Mum be disappointment that Annie was not following in her footsteps? No, of course not. Both parents had told her repeatedly that they'd be proud of her no matter what. Nevertheless, Antoinette couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt as The Sorting Hat had called out her house.
She glanced behind her to see the other tables and wondered who she’d encounter over the next few years, and what life had in store for her.

New Friends?
Was the boy angry to have been in Hufflepuff, whereas he had a secret longing to be in Slytherin? The answer to that was rather simple. Yes.
When he looked at the girl, a rather new Gryffindor, that got sorted, he was a little curious. She seemed to be a little... awkward. Was that girl really going to be someone he needed to investigate further? Was he really going to approach someone from another House? Well.. he would do it if it came to seeing a Slytherin. Maybe it had to do with favoritism, but so far, it seemed that he already made a Slytherin for an enemy.
"Hey, girl. Well, as the sorting hat says; Asteria, Antoinette. Why you so odd?" Ok. The young american part goblin was very awkward, and he seemed to be treating the girl badly on her first day. This was bad. He needed to change his additude, if he was to remain "normal" in a way.
A reputation of Chaos seemed to fall on the young and new Part Goblins that recently got sorted. Granted, he met Juniper on the train ride to Hogwarts. But she wasn't a Part Goblin, by word, but Cody had a sneaking suspicion that she was one as she was insanely short, like Cody was. Cody was only 3'10" and that might've been a little embarrassing, but who cared!
He turned to the Gryffindor again, apologized, grabbed a seat next to her, turned it around, and sat down.

New Friends?
Annie could feel a pair of eyes on the back of her neck and swivelled round to see a boy staring at her. She wasn't sure what to make of that - there was a curious glint in his eye. Was there something on her face? Were here cheeks burning? She did feel rather hot.
She shuffled anxiously in her seat and then swiftly averted her gaze. She needed to relax. What kind of Gryffindor would she be if she couldn't even sit at their table? Weren't they known for being brave? Antoinette felt anything but.
It came as even more of a shock when, just as suddenly, a young American voice appeared beside her. Annie jumped and blinked up at the boy. He was very short, but she paid it no mind. Annie was not the type to tease someone for their appearance, or tease anyone full stop. It was not her way. Still, she couldn't help but be a little taken aback by the boy's brashness.
"What do you mean?" She asked, sounding braver than she felt. Was her voice shaking? Annie made sure to keep her hands firmly in her lap. He wouldn't notice them shaking. Her dark eyebrows shot up her forehead as she studied him. "I'm not odd, and even if I was, there's nothing wrong in that." Annie straightened up a little. "Who are you?"

Nothing odd? Thats bull. Everyone is odd! Cody is short, thats odd! But there was something about the girl that he didn't like. He balled up his fists, feeling the blood rush to his knuckles. He got out of his chair, unballed his right fist, grabbed a slimy and sticky food from a bowl in front of him, and threw it at the girl. Did it hit? Of course not. The girl would sucessfully evade it.
"You git. WHY would you do that? EVERYONE IS ODD. WHY CAN'T YOU ADMIT IT?" A low hissing noise left the young boy's nose, and his mouth. If he was pissed, it was now. It felt as if he was being challenged. "If you are challenging me, I demand that we have a duel!" Upon saying that, Cody realized those words he said was not going to be possible unless he learned some spells by the end of this week.
He glared at the girl with flames in his eyes. He would have a duel. Maybe it would be them racing on a broom, slinging spells at each other, maybe they would play beaters and see if they can nail the other with a iron ball known as a Bludger. That Lion was starting to get on his nerves.
Note: We discussed in owls and agreed that Cody could be enemies to her.

New Friends?
Abi was walking through the Great Hall until suddenly she noticed two people talking, she walked over and decided to talk together. She was terrible at it and she knew it too. Ah, she noticed Cody Stevenson in the middle too. My god, does this kid never get off my back?
Did she still dare to approach him to talk to him? What petulance. And she even dared to say "Hi Cody..."!? how idiotic of her.
As usual, Cody was being aggressive with people. Abi didn't care. But when she realized that he was wanting to duel the girl, she had to intervene "Ehn, Cody, why don't you leave this duel for later?" She did her best. She couldn't threaten Cody like that, who would have guessed what he could do to her.
Getting in front of the two as a form of protection, for both the girl and Cody. If Abi had a choice to stop a fight like this, she would choose to stop the fight.
It was a great courage for her to choose to confront Cody, as he was known to be a troubled boy. But she prefers to do it as smart and calm as possible.

New Friends?
Annie's eyebrows remained high upon her forehead. She could see how the boy stiffened, as though he didn't like what she had to say one bit. Why was he so angry? He was the one who'd started this, he'd come up to her! She was simply defending herself, and yet, here he was, balling his fists and glaring at her. Annie felt her heart beginning to pound hard against her chest. This isn't what she had in mind on her first night at Hogwarts. How could she had offended someone already?!
To her horror, the boy stood from his seat and grabbed a bit of food. Annie swerved to the right just in time, but she still felt the wet sticky food smear across her face. Cheeks burning with embarrassment, she grabbed a nearby napkin and furiously rubbed her cheek. People were beginning to stare, and she felt a terrible mixture of shame and anger. She hastily glanced toward the professors and headteacher, who were placed upon the stage at the front. Luckily, for the boy, they hadn't seemed to have noticed. Instead, he was shouting at her and - no way - he was challenging her to a duel! A duel she would surely lose because she didn't know any spells.
Still, she wasn't about to put up with this. Her temper finally getting the better of her, Annie rose to her feet too and scowled at the boy. "What is your problem?" She shot back at him angrily, her own fists clenched now. Annie opened her mouth to accept this ludicrous duel when another girl suddenly intervened. She was a fellow Lion and had just been sorted too. Antoinette smiled at her in relief. This didn't seem to be her first encounter with this Cody boy. He hadn't even introduced himself! Rude!
Annie turned back to the boy and glared. If she'd been a dragon, steam would've been puffing out of her nostrils. Her fellow Lion bravely stood between them, putting herself in harm's way. The Sorting Hat had picked the right house for this girl, that's for sure! Not wanting the girl to get hurt because of herself however, Annie stepped forward a little, so they were side by side. They'd deal with his boy together. "Just sit down, Cody," Annie snapped, making a point to say his name. "Sit down and leave me alone!"
