Outfit: Uniform "Don't call you insane? What should I call you then? Mad? Crazy? You pointed a wand at me! Only an insane person would do that!" Adelaide couldn't believe what she was hearing, how had she started this whole ordeal? Yes, she wasn't very nice to Lizzy at first, but maybe this girl should learn to not go up to random strangers doing their work and stick your nose where you aren't wanted! How many times did Adelaide need to tell her something along them lines for her to finally understand? The blonde was getting frustrated with having to constantly repeat herself, it seemed this girl's skull was thicker than a bowl of oatmeal. "I started this whole thing? If I remember correctly, you came over to me! Maybe if you weren't so nosy about other people's business, this would've never happened! And how was I meant to know you were bluffing? You pointed a wand at me! You threatened me! When someone does that, you don't automatically think they're bluffing because a sane person wouldn't threaten someone with a wand in a situation where that is so not needed!" Blowing out an exasperated breath, she ran a hand through her hair absentmindedly. Great, now her hair was messed up. This evening was just getting worse and worse.
Adelaide crossed her arms and stared down her nose at Lizzy, giving off the impression that she was a stern professor telling off a disobedient child, "I am well aware we don't know any hexes, so don't call me stupid. But you certainly wouldn't understand how it feels when someone points a wand at you, because I doubt you've ever had to deal with that before. I just did though, because you pointed your wand at me, if you can recall. I wasn't necessarily thinking about what we have and haven't learnt in class yet, I was more focused on the fact that I have a psycho pointing a wand at me." Adelaide didn't care that Lizzy was a muggle-born, it certainly didn't change the way she felt about the girl. She would hate Lizzy anyway, no matter her blood status.
She scoffed at Lizzy's next comment, "Of course I wouldn't go to the hassle of telling a professor, you aren't worth that much of my time. You've already wasted enough of my time already, and if you can't tell I was trying to solve this problem by telling you to leave me alone, but of course you didn't listen. I am smart, I was placed into Ravenclaw for a reason and I will not have some little girl try to tell me otherwise." Of course, the 'little girl' insult would've worked better if she was actually older than Lizzy, but considering they were both first years, they were the same age. She just didn't want to say anything to truly hurt Lizzy, she could if she wanted to, but she was trying to be the bigger person in this situation. The last thing she needed was for this girl to go running from the library in tears. "Are you done trying to win this argument?" She raised an eyebrow, "Because this nonsense is starting to give me a headache."

A Sprinkle of Constructive Criticism
Lizzy could not remember a time where someone had gotten on her nerves as much as Adelaide did. Honestly, was it too much to ask that she accept helpful advice and not go all insane over some constructive criticism? Lizzy sighed, "Adelaide, I came over to help you! If you haven't realized that by now, I don't know what else I can say or do to get your head wrapped around that fact!" How many other ways could Lizzy put it? Adelaide either was really not getting it, or more likely, she did not want to admit that Lizzy was right and had been all along. "Well, if you had half a brain, you would've realized I don't know a single hex and I was bluffing!" Adelaide was looking at her as if she were a child or a lost puppy. The look really was starting to annoy Lizzy. Lizzy was just as capable, if not more so, than Adelaide was. "Again, I am not insane or a psycho! I was upset, of course I wouldn't have actually hurt you!"
Adelaide was still giving Lizzy that look one might give to a child. Lizzy could not understand how or why she was acting like this. No one Lizzy knew back home, or for that matter, here in Gryffindor would act this way. Perhaps it was a odd Ravenclaw thing to want to annoy the most people they could before going home at the end of the school year. Whatever it was, Lizzy had no desire to continue this argument, but Adelaide wanted the argument to end as well, so Lizzy wasn't going to end it. Now that she was actually thinking about it, it sounded rather childish, but Adelaide was behaving the same, if not worse.
Adelaide's next comment nearly made Lizzy laugh with disbelief. "Little girl? Little girl? If I'm a little girl, what does that make you? In case you have forgotten in the short time period we have been talking, we're the same age! Same classes, same year, same spells known." Lizzy was trying to emphasize her point about the spells as much as she could. "If you truly wanted to insult me, you would never have used that as your big scorn towards me. Truthfully, I think you just want out of this argument." Just like I do. Lizzy thought. Of course, she wouldn't admit that to Adelaide though. "This nonsense," Lizzy copied Adelaide's word choice, "is also giving me a headache. I believe I am done with this nonsensical argument because I have clearly won it." There. Lizzy hoped that would do one of three things and she wouldn't be too choosy about which it accomplished. Lizzy hoped it would either make Adelaide be quiet, drive Adelaide out of the library altogether, or *gasp* make Adelaide apologize to her. Lizzy would be just as happy with the first as she would be with the glory of the last though.

Outfit: Uniform "For the last time, I. Did. Not. Want. Your. Help." She scoffed, her gaze turning menacing. The anger at the pit of her stomach was flaring rapidly, spreading through her veins like a forest fire. She would not be surprised if smoke started coming out of her ears. "Half a brain? I'm the one with half a brain? I am not the person who just threatened someone with her wand, it does not matter if you actually knew a hex or not, the intent was there. You pointed your wand at me with the intention of hexing me, you clearly wanted to, and you probably would've done it if you knew a hex. I was unarmed, I don't have my wand on me, so you are in the wrong here. Stop trying to act like you aren't." Her tone was calm, she was not shouting or yelling at Lizzy, yet it was that type of deadly calm that only happened when you knew someone was on the verge of snapping. "You are a psycho, whether you want to admit it or not. You threatened an unarmed person with your wand. That is kind of insane."
Lizzy was right with Adelaide's choice of insult, Adelaide herself knew it was a bad insult since they were the same age, but she was attempting to take the mature route in this argument and not start hurling curses and insults at Lizzy. "I did not mean 'little girl' as in you are younger than me, I meant little girl as in you have the maturity level of a 6 year old. Granted, 11 year old children are also not that mature," she was speaking as if she herself were not 11, but Adelaide hoped she at least sounded and acted more mature than most 11 year olds, "but I would've thought you would've had the common sense to not start this meaningless argument or threaten someone with your wand. I am trying to be mature in this situation, so if you're going to take away anything from this argument, at least try to start acting more mature. And of course I want out of this argument, but since you cannot accept the fact that you have lost whatever this quarrel was meant to be, I am still trying to get it into your thick skull that you're very clearly in the wrong."
She did not know how much time had been wasted arguing, all she knew was that she could've already had her essay done by now. She had briefly forgotten the essay, it laid discarded on the desk behind her only halfway finished. Now she would have to go back to the common room to finish it, which was incredibly ironic considering the only reason she had came to the library this evening was to get away from the noise of the common room. She rolled her eyes, "You think you've won this argument? Wow, you really are stupid. How twisted are you to think that you are somehow in the right here? That you have somehow won this pathetic argument?" Adelaide turned back around to the desk, she put her unfinished essay back in her bag along with her quill and ink and closed her textbook with a bang that reverberated throughout the library. She grabbed her bag and hoisted it up onto her shoulder along with her textbook which she clutched in her hand. Pivoting back around to face Lizzy, she spat, "Now, if you are done being a nuisance I think I will take my leave and go finish this essay that I originally came here for. Unless of course, you wish to apologize for your stupidity, which I will be more than happy to accept."

A Sprinkle of Constructive Criticism

Unfortunately, Adelaide was right. The intent was most definitely there. Lizzy had taken her wand out to threaten Adelaide, whether it was a bluff or not. On the matter of if she would've hexed Adelaide if she actually knew a hex, well... she might have. Adelaide knew how to make Lizzy mad like no one else that she had ever met. How was she supposed to know that Adelaide didn't have her wand on her though? The pockets in their robes were so deep they were practically a canyon! "Be reasonable! How was I supposed to know you didn't have your wand?" Lizzy's face had a small smirk on it now. "And don't bet against it. If I had known a hex, I probably would've used it without a regret!" Of course, Lizzy would've had regrets, she wasn't heartless, but Adelaide didn't have to know that now did she?
Adelaide's insult was truly one of the worst Lizzy had ever heard. That was saying something, Lizzy had gotten more than her fair share of insults over the years. Any sensible person would've let it go, and acknowledged it was bad. Adelaide, of course, couldn't. She was the most stubborn girl on the face of the whole earth! "Are you seriously trying to defend that terrible insult? Not even you can save that one." Lizzy hoped Adelaide took offense enough to stop this senseless argument. What was she thinking? Adelaide herself was senseless! "If I have the maturity level of a six year old, what does that make your maturity level. Two year old?" Lizzy snapped.
"I might not have been right to draw my wand on you, but it would have never have happened if you could take some criticism!" Lizzy could feel her face reddening with the anger. It was almost like her anger was at capacity and now spilling out. Lizzy wished she would have stayed in the Common Room, or better yet, that Adelaide would have stayed in her Common Room. If Ravenclaws were as perfect and studious as Adelaide claimed to be, then wouldn't that make it the perfect place to work? If she hadn't wanted to be disturbed, she should've stayed holed up in there. Adelaide turned and grabbed her things off the table. "Why did you even come to the library if you didn't want to be disturbed? If Ravenclaws are as perfect and studious as you claim to be, then wouldn't that make it the perfect place to work? Oh and by the way? The only stupidity to apologize for is yours."

Outfit: Uniform "Not many people go to the library and expect to be threatened, so I didn't find a reason to bring my wand. Even if I did have my wand, it doesn't give you the right to threaten me." She was not even the slightest bit surprised when Lizzy confessed that she would've hexed Adelaide, this girl was obviously insane. It was pathetic how she was still trying to convince herself that she was in the right here. The anger that fueled Adelaide had quickly dissipated, being replaced with annoyance and tiredness. She needed to end this argument and head back to the common room because now it felt like Adelaide was just repeating herself while Lizzy was still being stubborn enough to not admit she was in the wrong.
"You say about my insult being bad yet you're just spitting my own insult back at me? That's really, really embarrassing. If you're going to insult me, at least make up one of your own." This was honestly embarrassing for the duo. She didn't even know how long it had been since Lizzy had came up to her and initiated this whole ordeal, but mostly everyone that was around them had left, whether that was because they had finished working or the two first years arguing over something stupid had made them leave, Adelaide wasn't quite sure. She suspected it was the latter, though.
"I'm not going to take advice from some random girl who came up to me when I was trying to peacefully work. If I wanted your advice, I would've organized a study group or something." She was getting tired, this argument wasn't going anywhere and it was quite obvious that Lizzy wasn't going to back down any time soon. Adelaide knew she was in the right in this situation, and quite frankly she was confident that she had won this argument. "Us Ravenclaws have a social life too, you know, and it was particularly noisy in the common room tonight so I had headed to the library for some peace and quiet. Which was interrupted by a really annoying fly who wouldn't stop buzzing in my ear. Unfortunate, isn't it?"
She started to walk away from Lizzy, shoving past the girl harsher than she really ought to, before she turned around, "I'm done with this. It's obvious you aren't going to admit you're in the wrong, and you are not important enough to waste any more of my time. You're free to stay arguing with the table or something, maybe it'll listen to your temper tantrum." With that, she left the library.Thread left.
