"Well, uh...you could be snogging just about anyone. I mean, do you go for the badass Slytherin type or some other sort?" he smiled to her because he could tell that she didn't think that'd be happening. "I'm just saying, I started dating my girlfriend here at Hogwarts not long after starting my First Year. You might not be that far off." And while the two did many things together, including just hanging out or studying, they did get around to that as well.

He glanced around the corridors. The red hair of classmates always caught his attention but there were sooooo many redheads at Hogwarts. It could quite possibly be the most amount of redheads in any given area - a world record or something! No, none were her. He hadn't seen her as much this year. No, she had sort of been avoiding him since the start of Summer Camp. It was quite frustrating.

"Okay, coming up to the right," he began talking again so he didn't start feeling the anger again, he stopped at a bench near the end of the corridor. "When exams are happening all at once and the Library is full and the Study Rooms ...which I don't like very much ... are full, and you need somewhere else besides your dormitory or the common room to study, and you can't really be outside (which was him due to his dhampir nature but maybe she'd think he meant weather), well, then I like this bench right here. No one's ever sitting on it and the portraits nearby are quite friendly." In fact, one greeted him by name just then and Simon smiled up to the old man, wishing him a good day.

Emily started laughing. Badass Slytherin's weren't really her type indeed. She had never had an interest in anyone before, because she felt that, someone had to sweep her off her feeds. She needed that to happen, which had just never happened before. She needed someone that would impress her, make her feel alive, make it feel worthy to love. She knew she wasn't too bad looking, so some guys had asked her to hang out before, but she almost always rejected them, and if she said yes, it was only grabbing an ice cream and leave. She had gone so distracted into her thoughts she had never noticed Simon talking to the old man. "Well I like the spot! Thank you so much for sharing it! This could be so useful to just be alone for a while. usually, I just go to the Astronomy Tower, but lately, it has more become a snogging spot than a place to look at the stars tho" She said, a bit annoyed, she didn't like people to just walk up there to snoggle, it was a beautiful place for sure, but not to hang on each other's lips. She returned her focus back to Simon. "So girlfriend hu? Who is she? May I know?She asked while smirking a little. She didn't have a quite interesting love life herself, but the love life of someone else was always much more enjoyable than their own.

The girlfriend topic. It was a hard one for him these days just because they were in a bit of a spat - but they were still together and he still wanted to work on their relationship so that was a plus. It showed they still cared enough to try.

"Ah, well, her name is Haley Rose and she's a second year like myself but in Gryffindor. She plays quidditch and she's fun and she's kind and she's one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen. She's intelligent and she puts me in my place," he smiled, pausing. He had just said good things about her. Also a plus. Maybe their relationship could be on the mend.

"She's also helped me out with my schoolwork and my studying and she's been there for me through some pretty hard times. She's pretty great. We met last year, shortly after the school year started in the Library and we clicked."

Maybe it wasn't a sweep her off her feet sort of story, but they had some good times. "I mean, its not the most romantic thing but it's good. And there's been some romance. She ususally is able to tell me things she can't tell others and the other way around. This ring," he showed Emily the black stone snake ring that he wore, every day, as he held up his hand," it was her grandfather's. She gave it to me. She wears another snake ring that was her grandmothers."

"Last year I asked her to the Ball with a sort of acceptance letter and it was cute, very authentic in mimicking the one we got to attend here but asking her. The Autumn Ball is coming up and I don't know how to ask her to this one." He felt it had to be pretty big. "Any ideas?"

She listened carefully to what Simon had to say. Altho he thought that the relationship between him and Haley wasn't so romantic, she thought otherwise. As long as it is love, it was romantic to her. Anything involving love sounded romantic to her. She was very happy for Simon, she had never met Haley, but she sounded like a very sweet person. Emily saw the ring and was stunned."That ring is gorgeous! Really, it looks so beautiful!"She said.

She never wore rings, the only thing she had was a necklace she got from her brother right before she attempted Hogwarts. "I got a necklace, from my brother in December. He wanted to give me something that was almost as beautiful as me, that's what he said at least, altho i disagree, the necklace is far more beautiful than me." She says and shows him the necklace. It was a small, golden necklace with a tiny cross.

He told her about the Autumn Ball. She looked down. "Well Uhm, i really want to go! But I have no one to go with, to be honest. I haven't met a lot of people yet and I just don't know anyone who'd want to go with me" She said and thought about a way for him to ask her. [color=#0054d]"She is a Gryffindor right, I believe? Well you could ask a Gryffindor girl to leave a note at her dorm, or a house-elf, and write on the note to meet you at a special place, and then you wait at that place with just a rose, cause roses always work, and then just ask her. I am sure she will love it!"[/color] She said and smiles.

Simon looked at the necklace that she had with a tiny cross and smiled. He then tugged at his Hufflepuff uniform tie and pulled the knot down some, unbuttoned the top button of his white dress shirt, and then pulled at a small golden chain, which at the end of it also had a small metal cross. "Your brother has absolutely fantastic taste, if I say so myself." Simon always wore it. It was a testament to his faith, which was very strong.

"Hey, you don't need a date to go to the Autumn dance," he said quickly. "Last year, there was a lot going on...pumpkin decorating, lots of candy," not that he enjoyed the candy because sweets were so not his thing but others seemed to enjoy it, "and even costumes. You should go! And hey, if the Autumn Ball ends up mostly just being a dance, you could save me one. You're call on if it's slow or a fast dance."

"I can do it all," and Simon, who really could dance quite nicely no matter what sort of way, broke out into the lamest dance move of ever with the robot but he redeemed himself a little by demonstrating a sort of moonwalk type move back to where Emily was. "I'm even better at slow dances. My aunt taught me." The boy had spent a huge amount of time indoors in his lifetime since he avoided the sun. That led to a great deal of knowledge in music, dancing, books, and more.

Emily smiled at what Simon said. She looked down at her necklace and put it back down hanging around her neck. She was surprised by his offer, she had never danced before so she had no idea what to do, did she want to go to the ball? Did she want to dance since she knew she was horrible at dancing? She looked down a bit shy and ashamed of her lack of ability to dance. "To be honest I have never danced before, and don't know how to dance. And isn't it a bit weird to go all on my own, like everyone will have brought someone? But I would love to dance with you!" She says and smiles. They continued walking through the Corridors altho she totally forgot where they were heading anyways, her memories weren't what she wanted them to be. "And I would be too shy to ask anyone to be my date at the ball tho, I haven't met too many people yet, weirdly enough, and I have never you know, be interested in dating or going to a ball. Never imagined going as well. But I guess ill find someone before the ball! She said and smiled at Simon.

Offering up dance lessons to @Emily R. Brewer


"A lot of people will be going on their own and a lot of people will be going with others. That's the great thing about dances - anything goes. Well, almost anything. There was that one time back in London at my school where I ended up taking off my shirt - long story - and that wasn't looked at so kindly by the teachers. I mean, in HINDSIGHT I can see why but it was all harmless. COMPLETELY harmless."

He looked to Emily and really hoped she would go. "You should go, Em. Date or not," he nodded, hoping that he'd encourage her. But then he realized that she said something else, not just about not having a date. She had never danced before? Never? Never ever?

"You've never danced before?" he asked, tilted his head a little in confusion and it probably could have resembled the way a dog tilted their head when they were confused, although, you know, in a human sense. "Oh, Emmy...Emmy...Emmy...that will not do. Is that why you're apprehensive to go? I can help with that! I could teach you! Not to be full of ego here but I'm pretty good at dancing. All types. Fast dances, slow dances, old-outdated dances, cool dances that have great visual effect, lame dances."

Emily looked down. "I know I should go but it still feels very weird. Its just, it so soon and, I fear like ill just feel really alone. ". She said, she looked up when Simon suggested teaching her how to dance, she had never danced before, and even to Simon, she did not want to embarrass herself like that. What if she stepped on his toes or, she would be so scared that she would run away, which was not likely since altho she was scared she never ran away from anything. She was quite shocked by him calling her Emmy, no one had ever done that before, she found it quite funny."Would you really do that for me? Like I am horrible at dancing. " "And "Emmy" is that the best you got?" She said teasing. She smiled at him and looked around, not really knowing what to say, was she really going to take dance classes with Simon? "Were would we dance then, cause it would be even more embarrassing if other's would see it and I just, don't want to get embarrassed, I am still a first-year and, don't want to be known as the girl who can't even dance." She said and gave him a small smile.

"Ah, I've got the perfect place. The Rehearsal Room on the Fourth Floor...or as I call it, my Second Home." Truthfully, he was in there...a lot. Of course he was though. It was a space in which he could bring his guitar to practice and there was also a piano inside. Not many students seemed to use the space as much as they could, but that just gave him more time to be there.

"And what's wrong with Emmy? Granted, it's the obvious 'go to' for Emily but it's a classic! Classics are meant to be timeless and adored and so Emmy it is. From now until..." well, he was going to say eternity but maybe he'd come up with better. "...Until I come up with something other than that."

"But yes, Fourth Floor. You can't miss it. It's got large arched windows that allows far too much light in come morning and a huge chandelier in the center of a domed ceiling. It's beautiful in there. Besides, even if you should decide not to go to the dance, everyone should learn how and I'll never think of you as foolish. I'm a better instructor than that, Miss Brewer. I will treat you will the utmost of respect," and he stepped back, brought his hand to his waist, and presented her with a bow.

"Meet me there, tomorrow evening after supper?"

Emily was happy that Simon wanted to teach her how to dance, she still felt a bit embarrassed but was very happy that he was there for her. And he was right tho she did not need a date at the fall ball, she was not even interested in anyone, She had never before and wasn't at the moment. She was just flattered by the thought of having a fall ball date, of having a date at all. But dancing with friends and having an amazing evening is the only thing she needed. She smiled when Simon tried to explain the whole Emmy thing. "I was just messing with you, no worries, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Emmy!" She said and smiled. "I guess ill have to find a nickname for you as well, but that will be for another time I believe, we really have to go now, or we'll miss our next class, we have been chatting here for far too long. I really enjoyed seeing you again Simon, and thank you so much for all your help, you are the best!" She said and smiled. "I will deff see you tomorrow then! Thanks again, and see you then, can't wait!" She said and she ran out of the Corridors, smiling and giving Simon one more wave before disappearing out of the Corridors, heading to her next class.
