Quidditch Fall 2021 Slytherin v Ravenclaw

Dan smirked as not one, but two goals were made by his team. He also snarled a bit as he saw Ravenclaw just flit out of the way of their assault. But, encouragement is what was needed. Not the hard-ass coach stereotype. Dan wasn't sure he could do that anyway.

"Don't be discouraged, Cobras! Clip the little birdies' wings. We've lost nothing yet!"

And as he finished his support, there he saw it. The snitch, already!
He smirked again, but saw out of the corner of his eye, a bludger coming for him.
Of course they would target him. He's only embarrassed them in 3 games In a row now.

With ease and grace, he dodged out of the way of Gabriellas bludger being more flashy than necessary, and flashed her a cocky-ass raised eyebrow. She was going to have to do better than that to hit him.

Then, however, another bludger screamed toward him. Hit by Jorah. This one was faster, and closer. Dan knew he couldn't dodge in time, and had milliseconds to come up with a plan. Remembering that Jorah had a penchant for breaking brooms, he turned his body so that his left side was between the bludger and his Broom, and moved so that the entire momentum would not hit in the one spot.

The bludger landed, and Dan felt searing pain run through him. But. Not enough to dislodge him. He gripped his Silver Arrow tightly, and flashed a Slytherin Smirk to Jorah.

"That all you got, Jorah?!"

He did his best to hide how much that hurt, and sped off after the snitch, signaling his plans to his team. Time to take their 4th win against Ravenclaw.

XXXAs the game truly kicked off, Maggie saw melee like she hadn't yet experienced in practice. From what she'd heard, Ravenclaw didn't have a particularly good track record when it came to Quidditch games. Or so she'd heard. Maybe it was just an attempt to psych them out, or some sort of teaching method to spur Slytherin newcomers on to victory. Whatever it was, Maggie was appreciative.

Maggie was on save priority, watching Dan Palmer and trailing behind his broom how she could while still maintaining a reasonable distance. Loyal to their seeker should he meet an untimely demise, falling to the hard-packed ground that threatened to swallow them whole, should they fail their team.

It was a flash of green and blue, surging past her and sending the emerald robes that adorned her flickering in the wind with their passing by. Ducking her head and trying to keep to the sidelines, eyes trained on Dan Palmer, Maggie did what she could to avoid flying bludgers, other players, and other such obstacles that might hinder her performance today.

Tyranni's quaffle tosses proved to be beneficial for the team. Slytherin was up twenty points early on in the game, which was certainly a feat. Take that, birdies!

It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, though, proven by the scuffle between Erin Ryan and Cecily Quinn in which Quinn slammed into their beater with a sickening crunch. Erin was falling through the air already, and having a beater down so early on in the game would not aid in their odds. Wouldn't contribute to a win at all. Dan Palmer was fine. Maggie made a split-second decision and dove after Erin, sweeping up under her. The broom buckled slightly under the weight of the two girls, but held their combined bodies perfectly fine.

"Watch where you're flying!" Maggie yelled vaguely. Cecily Quinn. Ugh. Erin was not on her own broom currently, they were down a beater momentarily. Big issues! Still, Maggie couldn't hide the shining smile on her face. She'd saved a teammate and done something good and beneficial for their team. Cash's shouting across the field was clear as day, and Maggie felt a sense of pride that couldn't be rivaled by anything else. "I'm going, I'm going!"

Following Erin's instruction (because Maggie was really honestly quite frightened of her), she started off in the direction indicated.

The thing about being the Keeper was that Koko got an excellent view for spectating. Sometimes, Chasers were busy doing other things, and Koko got to relax a little and watch the game play out. She usually kept the other team's hoops in her peripheral vision, but this time, after Tyr was the only person trying for a quaffle, Koko truly allowed her gaze to wander.

She even looked at the people on the bench, smiling for a moment before she saw Cecily shove Erin off her broom. Not even recognising it as a foul until the whistle was blown, Koko's first thought was 'Rude!'

Luckily, Maggie caught Erin. Koko clapped excitedly, her smile widening into a grin as she became certain Erin was safe. 'Awesome save, Maggie!' she exclaimed, leaning forward on her broom so she could see better.

The Ravenclaws were really out for blood today. Koko had thought her house was a bit bloodthirsty, but after watching multiple attempts to knock Dan off of his broom, Koko felt that the Slytherins were entirely welcome to be as cutthroat as they wished. Dan caught an ugly bludger to the side, and Koko caught a rare sense of yearning for the days when she had held the bat. She would very much have liked to send a bludger right back at Jorah.

Another match, another penalty lap. But this one was worth it-- mostly. Her risky move had paid off this time, sending the terrifying Slytherin beater tumbling from her broom. Cecily smirked as she pushed her broom even faster around the perimeter of the pitch, not unhappy with herself, even as she looked back to find her target safe on the back of her teammate's broom. It wasn't ideal, but she'd had blatches go much worse. At least all of her Eagles were still in the sky-- a fabulous improvement from many of their past matches. This was the one, she thought, even as she itched to make her next move alongside her team. This was their comeback.

He saw Dancelos join them on the bench as he leaned forward to glance to the left of Percival Rainwood. His fellow first-year seemed to be experiencing the match jitters, but was handling herself well with a flare of determination in her eyes nonetheless. "Dancelos!" he called out with a wave to the girl. "How are you feeling about our first match of the year? From what I hear, you'll probably play in the skies today, since second-string Chasers are often in high demand!" Truth be told, Avery hoped he would be able to get off the bench to play today as well, but not if it meant that Koko had to be knocked out of the match. Fortunately and unfortunately, that was less likely to happen for the Keeper position, or so he heard. "I'm probably just going to stay here and keep Flash company today, which I don't mind at all, but sorry Flash, I'd also rather be able to play one day," he said, giving Flash a small apologetic smile as he looked towards the older boy at the end of his sentence.

He did have questions, though, and Flash answered his first question helpfully. He cheered loudly as Tyranni scored one goal after another, standing up from his seat and raising his arms in a joyous "WHOOHOO!". "Well, it doesn't seem like they need Dan's help to score at the moment!" he observed.

He gasped as Erin was knocked off her broom, but the talented and alert Maggie Hawkins swooped in to save the targeted upperclassman. "Yes! You got it, Maggie!" No amount of support for his friend (or yelling and cheering, for that matter) was too much. The Slytherin bench was slowly becoming a spectator stand in its own right.

He was brought back to his conversation with Flash as he older boy observed that Dan had found the snitch already. Wow, that was fast! He took Flash's binoculars and squinted up at the gray skies before he found Dan. He did seem to have eyes on something in the skies that Avery himself couldn't quite spot, by the way his gaze turned back and forth to follow something. "Oh wow, you're right!" he exclaimed to Flash. "What are the chances that the match ends right now?" Would that make this the fastest match in Hogwarts recent-history?

Apparently there was no need to wait for the action to begin. The young eagle had barely managed to take a scan of the field, before her eyes landed on something heading straight for her fifth terrifying speed and power. The snitch left her mind, and dodging this bludger became her main priority for the time being, there was no way she’d be taken down this early in the game… again.
She gripped her broom tight, leaned forward and whizzed around the field, avoiding the hit of the ball successfully, before she saw it head for a different target.
Now, finally she could focus on her main goal of the game, though there was no doubt she’d be keeping an extra good eye out for any other upcoming bludgers through the rest of the game.

Dancelos was starting to wake up a bit, the match was starting and she was ready to cheer for his team. She straightened up and moved forward a bit to see the players who looked much tougher because of the rain. Some of her hair was wet now, but she didn't care. That's when she heard a voice, it was his friend Avery's voice.
+I'm a little stressed and excited. Also yes, if the weather continues like this, I will most likely play. I hope I do, but I don't want anyone to quit the game.
In fact, she didn't want to play as much as she wanted to play. It was really difficult to fight against the older ones with better experiences and better brooms in these weather conditions. Of course, she took these possibilities when she entered the team and would do her best for his team if she had to play.

They got their first issue. Dancelos happily said,

she shouted and this reaction caused everyone to look at her, but Dancelos was still happy. Then came the second point, now Slytherin was leading 20-0.While Dancelos was happy to lead by 20 points, something unexpected happened.
Slytherin's Erin was dropped from her broom. Luckily, a first-class girl like Dancelos rescued her before she crashed to the ground. Dancelos didn't know her very well, but

She shouted, it was a team game after all. Even though there was a setback, they were still ahead in points, now they had to act even stronger.

What in the world are we doing?! Lavinia thought while trying to fly around the field. The goal was to take out Erin Ryan with a Pincer but Lavinia was lost. For some reason, she couldn’t find Aly who was supposed to carry out the move with her which caused her flying to degrade a little. Trying to regain her control over her actions, Lavinia took a deep breath and got her broom back under control.

Percival had been content with ignoring both Holmwood and Chen for the remaining time he had to spend with them in this dreary weather. Though, it seemed as if someone had forgotten to mention to Chen that it would do him best to not poke the bears with sticks. Percival turned his gaze from the game to the short boy that sat only a few inches away from him. ”And who are you?” he responded in a colder tone than what he used towards Holmwood. The boy would turn his head back towards the field. Taking in the sites before him, his eyes would widen as he noted that Palmer had already found the snitch with great haste. It was surprising to think that the game could be over so quickly, and he found himself leaning forward to try and not miss a single movement.

Well, it was no surprise that Ravenclaw would come out in full force after their multiple humiliations last year. Despite being happy that they had proven to be the better team last year, Tyr could not help but feel some sympathy for the Eagles. It had to be demoralizing last year, and facing the pitch again this year would be a huge obstacle no doubt. Regardless of how some of the players may have been feeling, Ravenclaw certainly turned up ready.

Try as they might to eliminate Erin early in the game, they would not be so lucky, as fortune favored her and Maggie was able to save her. Maybe Erin might survive a full game for once? What was truly infuriating for the young chaser was that she managed to miss one of the goals. She had possession of the ball three times and yet her first toss failed at an unguarded goalpost. She would blame it on first game jitters, but she wasn't quite sure that was the reason. Sometime unsettling had come over her. Gods I hope I don't get a vision while playing a game and that the sensation I felt was an impending sign. She couldn't get the thought out of her head that a warning was coming, but perhaps it was just anxiety getting the best of her.
