With the start of the match, a smile spread across Atlas’ lips. The excitement of competition quickly sent a wave of energy coursing through her and her eyes studied the pitch. Quidditch was always fast-paced and she wanted to ensure that nothing slipped past her. Luckily, things seemed to start off on the right foot. Atlas watched gleefully as her team effortlessly scored the first points. It would set the tempo for the rest of the game she hoped.
Then there was the second score, and third. Perhaps this game would be easier than Atlas thought. “Let’s go badgers!” Atlas cheered as loud as she could. She might even be able to just lean back and take a little nap with the way things were going. She would glance momentarily over towards Ethen as the boy appeared to be searching for a sign of the snitch. She had complete faith that he would be able to get it for them this time around. Her happy little glimpse quickly turned into a look of horror as she watched a bludger careen into the side of her boyfriend.
On par for a year filled with close calls, watching Ethen plummet from his broom put a renewed pit in Atlas’ stomach and she had to quell the urge to fly out to catch him. She had a job to do and couldn’t be distracted. He would be okay, she told herself. And sure enough, Serena was there to catch Ethen. Atlas released a breath she hadn’t known she was holding.
It wasn’t ideal but at least they were still in the game. But her relief was painfully short-lived. A second bludger slammed into the pair and sent both Serena and Ethen off the broom. Atlas’s hands clenched on her broom and she could feel her nails digging into the wood. She wouldn’t, couldn’t, watch them hit the ground but she could hear the thud. It sent a horrific wave of panic through Atlas but she kept reminding herself to remain focused. Her teammates would be okay and she needed to stay focused on the game. She didn’t have the luxury to worry yet. After the game is when she would get her chance to scold Ethen for his continued lack of dodging during games. There were only so many times she could watch him get launched off of his broom.

“Bah dah dah! FLYING BADGERS! Swooping in! Like a shark with a fin...BAH DAH DAH! DOOO DAH DAH!” Ethen continued his obnoxiously loud singing as the game began. He thought being annoying might be a good way to get in the head of his opponents. He knew that, despite his taunts, they were up against some tough competition. So anything Ethen could do to trip them up, he would try. But his main task was to search the ever daunting task of finding that little flash of gold.
While Ethen searched the field for any sign of the snitch while singing. His eyes narrowed for any small indication but there was nothing to see. And then… his entire body was suddenly hurting and to make the situation more peculiar...he was no longer on his broom. A very unfortunate circumstance during a Quidditch game. There was no getting used to being smashed with a bludger and the helplessness of being tossed from one’s own broom.
Thankfully, Ethen had a savior. A glorious white knight in Serena who swooped in to catch him on his plummet. Just as Ethen was getting ready to let out a loud jovial cheer, there was another gift from the other team. A second bludger came to eviscerate the pair and send Ethen back into the air to resume his short flight to the hard ground below.
While enjoying his descent to the dirt, Ethen decided he would do some sightseeing. He had a couple of seconds before the ground removed him from his consciousness. As Ethen’s eyes scrambled around, he saw it. That familiar gold twinkle of the snitch zipping around above him. It was like a final perverse taunt before darkness. The abyssal silence of unconsciousness as Ethen painfully met the ground with a thud.

Interacting with @Arden DohertyHm? Oh, it seemed that someone was talking to her. She looked over at him and laughed a bit. "Honestly, same! This is my first game ever and I'm so excited I don't think my body quite knows what to do with itself," She jokes, glancing down at her bouncing leg. "It's very nice to meet you, Arden Doherty! My name is Alice Grimmshaw! I'm the second-string beater." She explained cheerfully. "My Grandma used to play quidditch as a beater so I'm really excited to follow in her footsteps."

His breath hitched as he watched Ethen plummet to the ground. Stanley's mind blanked, all noise disappeared and his eyes were wide open staring at their First-String Seeker who was clearly not conscious. It was too early for him to go out onto the pitch! It must be a dream. A very bad dream.
Suddenly, Stanley's senses were overcome with the wind whipping into his face and ears bringing him back to reality. His eyes definitely were not playing tricks on him and he was definitely going to have to go out onto the pitch. The boy slowly pushed himself of the bench onto his shaky legs and grabbed his broom.
With his brain still in disbelief, he mounted his broom and kicked off into the air. Stanley quickly shoot his head from side to side. "Come on Stan. Get your head out of the clouds You can't let us lose another game." He mumbled to himself as he pushed stray strands of hair away from his eyes allowing him to have the best advantage he could possibly have to win the game.

"What. the. hell?!" Annie muttered quietly as she braced herself on the edge of the bench. Although she couldn't see anything the announcer gave her a clear picture. Howard, scored 3 out of a possible 3 goals like the mad man he is. And Ethen had already spotted the snitch! But then things took a turn for the worse. Gryffindor had it out for their poor Seeker as he got knocked off his broom and plummeted to the ground, Serena barely grasping him so he wouldn't land as harshly. "It's only the first round, give us a break!" She'd groan putting her head in her hands and sighing as if they were already defeated.
Feeling a person stand up on the bench drew back her attention. "You got this Stanley! Don't worry!" She called trying to be encouraging. It's wasn't over yet, it was just the beginning.. stupid Gryffindor and their beaters were trying to make this game short. Not if Hufflepuff had anything to say about it. Defense time it is. Annie would rest her elbows on her knees and clasped her hands together, staring out at the field, waiting.

The game began and the blonde didn't take her eyes off the players, not even turning down her her head for a minute. Slowly her uneasiness was replaced by thrill and excitement and she even started to whistle and whoop with the crowd when the quaffle was thrown into the loop thrice. Everything was fine until the first string seeker was being plummeted into the ground. Of course it was pretty normal in this sport as it is a quite dangerous one but still, isn't it too soon for this to happen? Her heart started to beat so fast! so fast as though it would jump out if there was a hole for it to escape. will he be okay?! he will for sure. However it was so scary for her to think how it would feel to hurtle down. Her eyes drifted to the second string seeker who walked away from the bench to join the game, she could sense how tense he was, "Good luck!" when he mounted the broom and her eyes once again fixated on the match, "come on Hufflepuff! We can do this!" cupping her mouth with her hands, she shouted.

The moment they heard the sound of the whistle, Griseldis and her teammates quickly flew into action. She decided to fly behind Suzuki in order to be able to give her support, since it was Suzuki's first time playing in an official game this season as their newest first string Beater. Well, not just Suzuki, they also have their newest second string Beater, Alice Grimmshaw, who also had a lot of potential and could be their wild card if anything happened to one of them.Interacting with @Kage Suzuki
Mentioning @Alice Grimmshaw
She was overjoyed when Suzuki successfully knocked one of their potential threats, the Hufflepuff first string Seeker, Ethen Emrys off his broomstick. And not to anyone's surprise, there was already someone from their team who would be on lifeguard to save their Seeker from eating dirt. Being a veteran on the Quidditch pitch for so long, Griseldis knew she should never give their rivals a moment to rest. "Well done, Suzuki! Now it's my turn to finish the final blow!!" Not forgetting giving praise to her new partner before flying towards her target like a Hawk hunting its prey during their most vulnerable moment. Luckily, a bludger was in her sight at the exact right moment of need. Focusing all her strength into her right arm and with only one powerful strike at the opposing players. Griseldis watched not one but two Hufflepuff players got hit by the dark iron ball. This was certainly what people would say, "kill two birds with one stone".
Griseldis didn't laugh though because it was still too soon to celebrate. Due to this result, she could even imagine, that the Badgers might get even more aggressive in the next round, so she had to stay vigilant as always.

Stunning Banner by Winnie HarperInteracting With: N/AMentioning: @Evelynn Decipio, @Akari Kato, @Rafael D'Spacito, @Arden Doherty & @Alice GrimshawOne piercing tone of the whistle was all it took to devastate the relative peace which had consumed the pitch mere moments before. The calm before the storm, as it were. That foreboding lull, when one could naught but gander at the cantankerous clouds overheard, and pray to whatever god they chose that the tempest would spare their world from the bulk of celestial wrath.
In this case, the dull clouds merely scrutinized the frantic game below with sullen passivity. At least for now, they held their tears; no sigh escaped their lungs. The weather remained peaceable, and the game's participants could only hope not to upset the great mass of gloom in the sky.
The match's first moments progressed at a speed only befitting the chosen sport of a chaos god. The span of one blink seemed certain to contain a play that would change the game, for better or for worse. And so Marshal's hazel eyes remained wide open whenever possible, glued to the quaffle, then the bludgers, then Evelynn... Still Evelynn.
How absurdly elegant she appeared from his perspective - auburn hair cavorting with the wind in a celebration of newfound freedom, and slender form pressed expertly to her broom, allowing for optimal aerodynamic performance.
Focused as he was on the girl, it was easy to see the way she glanced about, a clear expression of concern painted across her features. Of course he understood the reason; any team would be eager to remove their opponents' Seeker from the game, especially one so savage as these Badgers. He could only hope that Eve might remain touched by luck, and not by a bludger.
Much to his surprise, Marshal was reminded that the Gryffindor co-captain was not the only player in the match. The memory of Akari's facetious comment from minutes ago resurfaced, drawing his gaze to the first-string Keeper. As of yet, the action surrounding her had been relatively uneventful. While this meant that her impact on the game had not become noticeable thus far, it also meant that she was safe... for now. The boy genuinely hoped it would remain that way, though of course the girl would be bent on benefiting the team as the game progressed further. Certainly no fear of being knocked from the sky would prevent her from doing so.
The penalties on two of their players would hurt them early, especially given the fact that both blatch attempts had failed.
Intently following one such attempt, Marshal clearly saw Rafael miss his mark, then subsequently get pummeled by a bludger, as if in direct punishment.
Though the blonde boy's natural reaction manifested in a sympathetic wince, the expression was quickly wiped from his face as he watched his captain putter off to take a penalty lap, clearly in pain.
Any time the older boy saw fit to darken his vision with that odious presence he had so obviously perfected, the younger Gryffindor could think of nothing, save for the incident at the Blossom Ball.
Yes, yes, of course it was in the past. Yet what Rafael had done lived ever in the forefront of Marshal's mind. To call such a rat his captain was enough to trigger his gag reflex. Cow dung would sit better on his tongue than to refer to D'Spacito by any respectable title.
Then again, despite his abhorrence at the boy's existence, he would not be seen disrespecting his captain openly. Not unless further justification was given. So until then, he would simply see his superior as a faceless orb.
The sound of conversation vaguely registered on his ears. Glancing toward its source, he noticed his fellow bench-warmers for the first time, having been entirely focused on the match to that point. He knew both of them from practice, of course. Alice and Arden.
In most any situation on any given day, the boy would have gladly shoved himself into their conversation. However, this was a quidditch day, and he wasn't about to miss a second of the match that he was technically almost a part of.
Today, no soft tones of idle chit chat would pass his lips. Instead, various exclamations of joy, frustration or disdain would fill the air around him, colored by the occasional jab at the referee.Action: This bench is warmer than it's ever been.

The match started. It was one of the weirdest matches- for him, at least. Multiple people cheated- not just beaters. It was crazy. Nobody seemed to be aiming for Suzuki- which was probably good. Getting slammed out before the match even began would've been real bad. One of the chasers immediately started barreling into the opposing ones, and another did the same.
So much for that.
Suzuki kept an eye out for other cheaters, and when the bludger came his way, he whacked it as hard as he could at the opposing seeker, knocking him clean off the broom.
Damnit.
He was saved. Suzuki would've liked to watch him fall all the way to the ground. Then he'd be o-u-t and they wouldn't have to worry about him anymore.
"Well done, Suzuki! Now it's my turn to finish the final blow!!" Griseldis, his fellow beater remarked.
" Thanks!" He replyed, flying off to watch the damage ensue. The girl proceeded to nail the seeker and his savior perfectly, sending them both dropping like coconuts to the ground.

Arden smiled over at Alice, apparently she had family who played quidditch as well! "My Da actually played for the Kestrals before he met my mom, that's part of what got me into the sport"
While he watched the game his grin slowly faded as he watched a couple of his team mates cheat, he didn't know that was the kind of team he was a part of. If that wasn't bad enough it seemed these underhanded tactics spurned the Badgers on as they scored three times...which if he remembered his lessons was thirty points.
He leaned forward, watching the chaos above with a stern expression both observing the tactics of both teams, but also keeping an eye out for more dirty moves and more specifically who made the choice to play in such a way.
"Come on Lions...were better than that" he muttered to himself
