It wasn't often Camille enjoyed someone's company but he could honestly say he was having fun talking with Maggie. He even managed to make her laugh, which wasn't exactly something he did but it was nice. He was worried she might fall over if she wasn't careful. He got ready to help just in case but she seemed to be just fine.
He was slightly amused with how the conversation was going. And slightly, very very slightly for just a second, you could see the corners of young Camille's mouth upturn into a sort of smile. He raised his eyebrow in amusement, deciding to do his best to play along. " A...Alas you have cl...claimed another vi...victim," he dramatically stuttered, because that totally makes sense, putting is hand against his forehead and leaning back slightly to mimic a almost fainting motion. " One of the m...many poor vi... victims of H... Hogwarts."
" I su.... suppose they will n...never catch y...you," he told the Slytherin girl, sitting back up so he wouldn't fall completely over. "The p...poor victims. N...no justice f...for any of the...them." The Slytherin girl in front of him was still quite the mystery to him.
Nonetheless, he was having a good time, even if he still was a nervous wreck. " Of c... course that means n...no time for your edu... education but li... little time when you h... have to find m...more vi... victims," he teased slightly, moving his hair away from his face so he could see a bit better. He had a relatively stressful week but today made it a lot better in comparison. Perhaps the school wouldn't be as bad as the others he had gone to, of course it wasn't hard to be better but that didn't matter to much.

─────Maggie decided that she liked Camille Asher. Camille was cool, pretty neat, and had kind energy. Kind, although somewhat quiet. Camille was quiet and shy and maybe a bit too anxious for her, but that was okay. Maggie had a reputation for getting people to come out of their shells, opening themselves up to the world, and allowing themselves to live authentically. For fear of sounding like a cliche Hallmark movie.
Plus, Camille played along with her. He played along swimmingly, and Maggie couldn't admit that he was funnier than he looked. Looked kinda depressed, like a zombie or vampire, but he was humorous! Downright comical!
Maggie laughed out loud. "Oh, you're so right. I feel horrible. The poor victims, their families will never, ever see them again. Maybe I need help, oh, god, maybe I really am evil," she gasped, hands flying to the sides of her face. She grinned at Cam, wrinkling her nose like a bunny rabbit. A habit she had, something done out of sheer memory. Muscle memory, honestly. "Cam. Cam," speaking like they were best friends. Maybe, with time and a little bit of luck, they could be. "I think you were wrong. Not everyone can be good because I'm evil! Straight up devilish."
Maybe she liked being evil. Maybe she loved it. After all, how bad could it be when she could just miss out on some education stuff. Just optional stuff.

Cam was having fun, which wasn't something that happened often when he spent time with others. When he first got his letter to Hogwarts he didn't expect to get close to anyone but he was pleasantly surprised that he was wrong. Perhaps his caregiver was right, a brand new school with a fresh new start was just what he needed.
One could not possibly understand the joy he felt when Maggie had laughed at what he said, for once maybe he was also making someone happy. Which, for a very long time, he thought was completely impossible. Perhaps, just maybe, he had finally made a friend. Which in all honesty sounded kinda sad to say but it made him happy nonetheless.
" M... maybe I am wrong b...but I don't think s...so," he said teasingly, " You m...may be a little de...devilish yes b...but evil I th... think not because I...if you were c... completely evil you w...wouldn't admit it." Cam was having fun to say the least, and while maybe hard to see, the corners of his lips turned upwards in a sort of smile, just ever so slightly though.
Circling back to what he said though, he did believe that if someone was actually evil they wouldn't admit it. They especially wouldn't admit their crimes. Of course people who are considered evil usually consider themselves good so in a way, good and evil was honestly all quite subjective.

─────It was fun. Fun to be having a conversation of wits and fun at a school that perhaps boasted being intimidating and quite frightening for people who weren't yet acclimated to the world or the vast magnitude of students. Because there were a lot of students, many of whom Maggie hadn't yet even got a chance to glimpse in the hallways. Maybe she'd never get to know all the students that Hogwarts was host to, and that was okay. It was perfectly fine. There were too many people to possibly entertain knowing, after all, and Maggie could accept defeat where defeat was required.
Still, talking to Camille felt like a diamond in the rough. She'd found a friend of sorts while just walking outside the school, while roaming about the courtyard. Oh, how lucky it was that Maggie got the chance to meet a new person. Who could've known that her deciding to mess with some student she saw sitting alone would reap such good rewards?
"True, but maybe I just want the attention that being evil gives me. Ever considered that?" Maybe Maggie just wanted to let everyone know just how evil she was, get the attention that she so desired from that. After all, any attention was good attention, wasn't it? "It's been real, though, seriously."
It had been. Camille Asher was all good, honest fun, and Maggie could honestly say that she'd enjoyed their time together. "I should probably be getting back to my dorm. Got plenty homework to catch up on, you know," but a goodbye of this capacity wasn't really a goodbye. Maggie wasn't bidding her new buddy adieu for real, forever, just until next time.
And with Maggie Hawkins, there was always a next time. "Don't be a stranger, okay? I'm gonna make sure you can't avoid me if you try."

It Camille was having a good time. Truly, he really was. This didn't happen often when he was around people but he enjoyed spending time with Maggie. Maybe he could even consider her a friend, not that he would say that though until he knew she thought of him as a friend. He would rather not embarrass himself.
When he had come out to the courtyard, the last thing he expected was to have talked to someone. He had entered fearful, stressed, and rather overwhelmed. But now, he was feeling rather good, almost completely forgetting what he had felt previously. It was rather nice for a change in all honesty.
He listened to what Maggie said intently, thinking about what she said. Sure being evil definitely would help one gain attention but there where other ways to gain it. Not that Cam had ever been very good at gaining attention, he tended to blend into the background. Of course, he personally preferred not being in the spot light but to each their own.
His attention snapped back to reality when the Slytherin girl said she should probably get going. This made him slightly sad since he was enjoying the conversation but understood. He probably should be heading back as well anyway. The slightest smile could be seen as Maggie told him to not be a stranger. He wasn't great at continuing friendships, maybe cause he never had one, but he definitely wouldn't be a stranger. " N...No worries, I un... understand. I sho... should probably head I...in to." he told her, getting up and brushing off his robes. " I'll do m... my best to n...not be a str...stranger too."
