As the days went on, Leonie's Head of House office was becoming more and more dull. She had decided to liven it up with a plant, but honestly she knew nothing about taking care of them. It was halfway dead by now, and definitely wilting. Though the plant was far from magical - being a small palm that she had retrieved from her home back in Berlin - she still needed help with the darn thing. This was why she had the pot in her arms, trekking to the greenhouses that the Herbology professor, Ms. Sorrel Wright, resided in most of the time as far as she knew.

She struggled to see through the dry leaves of the palm, and to say that she was relieved to get into the greenhouse was an understatement. She hadn't expected it to be so humid, but then again she hadn't been in a greenhouse since Herbology class back in Durmstrang. She pursed her lips after placing the potted plant on an empty space on a table, and took a look around the place.

There were plenty of plants littering the space. None of which Leonie recognized, but that could also be because she didn't see the point of trying to memorize them all if this wasn't her personal walk of life. There were moving vines, bright and colourful flowers, and large leaves all around. The floor of the greenhouse wasn't even a floor - just dirt. The sun shining through the panes of the greenhouse made Leonie want to regret slipping into her usual dark clothing that day. She could sweat enough water to fill the Great Lake if she stayed in here long enough, she bet.

There was an empty perch in the corner of the room, probably made for the professor's bird. Leonie had heard of the animal before, but had yet to encounter it. That was probably a good thing, though. She placed her hands in fists on her hips, then looked back to her own plant. It looked so pathetic next to anything else in the greenhouse. It almost weighed in on her confidence, but she pushed it away as much as possible. Plants were not her thing, she should be the last person feeling confident about failing at taking care of one.

A sigh escaped the blonde woman, and she turned so that her back was against the table. Her hands gripped onto the edge, her nails void of anything but natural colour - and now, dirt. She leaned back a little bit, taking the edge off of her calves. The plant had been pretty heavy to carry, and it almost made her wonder why she hadn't just used magic to deliver it to the greenhouse. It could have been because of her personal belief - one that not everything had to be done with magic. That was very opposite to her parents' beliefs, which had surprised anyone who knew of the family. Which was about every witch and wizard in Germany - in the world, if they paid attention to wizard politics. Her father was the Minister of Magic in Germany, after all.

The fact that her father held such a high position in the German Ministry of Magic had caused Leonie strive to become the same. She wanted to take the reins of her life, and become the best Minister of Magic the world had seen. This, of course, was far from it. She was now a professor at a school that had born the darkest of wizards. Her parents' disapproval was evident in the first owl she received from them since she broke the news. It made the woman feel horrible about it all, and she almost just wanted to take up her father's offer on having a job in the German Ministry. But that would make life far too easy, and Leonie wasn't one for giving up.

The humid air in the greenhouse had turned Sorrel's already curly hair into a mass of curls and frizz that stood up on top of her head. In an attempt to stop herself from looking absolutely insane, Sorrel had tied her frizzy hair back into a bun, that her bird was quite interested in. Nestled on her shoulder, the feathered bird brain that was Rhys kept poking at the mass of hair with his beak, and flinching back at whatever he found there.

Sorrel, quite used to her bird's weirdness, ignored the way he poked at her hair, and walked around her greenhouse. It was hotter than usual in greenhouse one, where Sorrel had set herself up for the day. She didn't really know why the heat in the greenhouse was cranked up a million times hotter than it's usual humidity, but she expected it was something to do with a rouge spell one of the first years might of cast. A lot of students had been spending time in her greenhouse after classes, messing around and pretending they were working on assignments, that Sorrel happened to know she hadn't given out. These kids were just insane. Honestly, the staff needed an on site therapist to deal with all the murderous 11 year olds.

There wasn't a student in sight, as it was the weekend, and for once , they had better thing to do than crowd around Sorrel's greenhouse and make up reasons to be there. Not that she hated all her students. There were three or four that actually were good at herbology, who Sorrel appreciated on the rare occasions they visited the greenhouse. The other children not so much.

In fact, one of her plants, a young Shrinking Gubbin, had a tear in it. Stopping her pacing of the greenhouse, Sorrel bent down, gingerly touching the ripped leaf with an expression of concern on her flushed face--which was for once, flushed due to heat, not embarrassment. It would take a hefty about of magical to make the tear in the plant go away. Grabbing the plant, pot and all, Sorrel trudged over to her desk in the back of the classroom.

Sorrel wasn't expecting somebody to be at her desk. The blonde haired, beautiful woman from the blossom fest was leaning on her desk, back turned away from Sorrel. The blush on Sorrel's face darkened, as she stared at the woman with blonde hair. Why was she in Sorrel's greenhouse? From what she had said, she disliked herbology. Sorrel then looked at her desk, finding a pathetic looking plant on the desk. That was not one of hers. It was almost cute, really. The tiny, out of place plant sitting on a desk in a room full of magical plants. It wasn't as cute as the woman leaning on her desk though.

Setting down her own plant on the desk, Sorrel mustered up her courage to talk to the unbearably attractive woman leaning onto her desk. The plant was probably what she was here to talk about, but just for the simple reason of hearing the woman's voice again, Sorrel decided to ask her what she was here for. She couldn't help it. Sorrel might not of been a flirt like Sebastian Cazarez was, but she wasn't opposed to flirting talking to someone as lovely as Leonie Scheinberg. Of course, she wasn't going to sound very dignified talking. Cursing her shyness, Sorrel let out a little cough.

"Er Hello, can I help you?" Sorrel said, heart racing in her chest. Reminding herself to think of the plants, not the woman, Sorrel took a deep breath of air.

The woman's ears had picked up the light sounds of the darker haired woman's footsteps long before her voice had rung out. Years of training in the Ministry helped with that, yet she didn't turn to face her until she had spoken. An absolutely monotonous look upon her face, her eyes flickered over Sorrel's appearance before looking to her own dreadful plant. She almost wished that she could throw away her palm and be done with it. It only irritated her at this point. But for some reason, she couldn't give it up.

"Uh, this thing," Leonie gestured to the plant as she looked back to the woman's flushed face. She thought it was pretty obvious - there was not another reason for her to be standing in the humid greenhouse other than this very out of place plant. "It's dying. I thought you might be able to fix it." She felt her lips pull into a sort of frown then, and she pulled off her black cloak, folding it over her left forearm before bunching it up into one hand and holding it against the desk. Her black, long-sleeve turtleneck had been underneath, and that alone basically served as a second sweater.

She pushed her weight off of the desk, leaving her cloak there as she retraced her steps through the greenhouse. She eyed plants, not walking as quickly as she had when she entered. She wasn't leaving yet - she was browsing. "You take good care of your plants, but that was expected I guess," She muttered, not quite sure if Sorrel was able to hear her or not. Either way, she didn't care. She crouched down as she reached a plant that was on a lower level. "Is this a venomous tetacula?" She questioned. The only reason she was able to recognize it was because of the numerous times she had been grabbed by it in her second year at Durmstrang. She wasn't sure what year kids at Hogwarts learned about them, but she hoped it wasn't anytime soon. Thankfully, it was a smaller one, and appeared to only be a baby.

Nevertheless, she had no interest in being near it, and it's deadly thorns.

She rose from her spot, and ventured back to the table with her palm, pursing her lips, "Never mind, I just really want to get help with my plant, please." She mentioned, resting her hand over top of her cloak once more, resuming her previous position.

The woman looked extremely depressed. That was not good. She must of really hated plants. Or just been a really depressed person. Although, that would of been sad, for someone that lovely to be depressed. Sighing, Sorrel stared at the woman with an absent minded expression on her tan face. What had happened to her, to cause that scar on her face? Sorrel watched the woman take off her cloak, slightly surprised to find another sweater underneath. Worry clouded Sorrel's thinking for a moment. The woman might get a heatstroke at this temperature, although she didn't look like the sort of person who wanted to be fussed over, so Sorrel kept her mouth shut and looked at the plant.

"Right." Sorrel moved closer to the plant, touching one of the leaves with a gloved hand. It wasn't a magical plant, so she wouldn't need the gloves. Quickly, she ripped them off and set them down on the table. Clearly, all the plant was missing was a bit of water. It was dying of thirst. Sorrel forgot her awkwardness, as she focused on the plant, and gave the woman a disapproving glance. But, Leonie had already moved away from her desk and was looking at the plants in the greenhouse with the eye of somebody used to scouting out foreign places. Not the eye of a herbologist.

"I would hope it's expected for me to take good care of my plants. I would be a shit herbology professor if I couldn't take care of my own plants." Her shyness was gone, as she was focused completely on the plants and her obsession love for all the magical plants in her greenhouse, not on the woman in her greenhouse. She was quickly delighted by Leonie knowing that she had a venomous tetacula in her classroom.

The plant was not yet fully grown, but was almost there. It was still green and spiky. It had yet to gain the ability to shoot venom from its shoots, and hadn't gotten to the phase of biting yet. She would have to move it out of the greenhouse at some point, before it was fully grown. A fully grown venomous tetacula in a classroom for 11 year olds would be devastating. Especially with the delusional ways of 11 year olds who thought they were the best herbologists in the world.

Leonie moved away from the plant, and Sorrel sighed in relief. Although the plant wouldn't be biting anybody yet, Sorrel still was wary of the small plant. Seeing that Leonie was done talking, Sorrel realized it was time for her to explain what was wrong with the plant. Something stopped her though, as the Defense Against the Dark arts professor talked about wanting to leave.

She would like to stay and have the woman talk to her, and she had a feeling the second she said what was wrong, Leonie would take the plant back up to her office and leave. Sorrel took a moment to think about how much she wished the woman would stay and talk to her, before clearing her throat.

"Your plant just needs more water. When is the last time you watered it anyways?"

The younger professor cussing made a smirk come to Leonie's face. She, personally, didn't cuss often. It was taught to her to be 'un-ladylike' by her mother, thus she was just simply uninterested in doing so. Sometimes, she did wish her parents' will didn't weigh so heavily on her. "I suppose you would be," She mused, tapping the toe of her boot on the ground once.

Surprise etched onto the blonde woman's features once the other professor announced that the plant only really needed water. "I have been watering it!" She protested, looking into the soil in the pot as though it would have bits of evidence left over from the water she had poured in there just that morning. She watered it at least once every other week - that was more than enough, wasn't it? She could feel frustration building up in her chest, and she pushed off of the table, crossing her arms over her chest. She seemed to switch her positions often, but it was more of a force of habit.

"I don't see how it could be that I need to water this thing. I have watered it often enough, it isn't dying because of that." She grumbled, stopping herself before she could go on a lengthy rant about how she had done nothing to make it this way. Including not watering the darn thing. She huffed a breath of air out of her nose, and stood back on the heel of her boot once again, returning to her straightened posture position she was normally in. Her arms dropped from her hips, and she reached up to pick at a basically dead leaf. There was no hope for saving that part of it, so she tore off a piece of the dry, dead thing and crumbled it between her thumb and pointer finger.

"There's no hope for this plant," She huffed a breath of air out of her nose, and stepped back, going back to the further part of the greenhouse, picking at the stitching of her robe's sleeve as she did so. She didn't want to end up taking her frustration out on the taller brunette woman. It was one of the reasons she didn't socialize often - she was far too honest.

At the sight of a smirk on the beautiful professor's face, Sorrel's face stretched into a grin. So, perhaps, the Sytherin Head of House wouldn't leave Sorrel's greenhouse so soon. Then the woman's expression turned sour, as she declared that she was, indeed watering the plant. Sorrel's face broke into a grin, unable to help herself from feeling excitement. It was always a joy to teach somebody, especially someone beautiful, about herbology.

Hitching up her bright green robes, Sorrel marched out from behind her desk and towards the woman. Her robes were just as bright as some of the steams of various plants in her castle, as Sorrel had favored ever since her days of studying at Castelobruxo. She had a fondness for the color, which was extremely out of place with the dull black robes of Hogwarts staff and students. It reminded her of better days, and better places than the school was the currently employed at.

Sorrel marched over to the woman, feet making an atrocious noise on the stone floor of Greenhouse one. Stopping by the woman, who was standing by one of Sorrel's plants, Sorrel shook her head. It was likely the woman only watered the plant once or twice a week, if she was even remotely smart about caring for her plants. Even more likely, she probably only watered the plant once or twice a month. This was a harsh woman, one who probably understood knowledge and facts. Sorrel respected that.

"A human needs to drink water when they are thirsty, as a living, breathing organism. A plant is also living and breathing, and they need water too. But unlike humans, plants can't get water for themselves. As the owner of a plant, it's important to give them water. You must give them water every few days. " Sorrel waved her arm in the general direction of Leonie's plant. "This exact plant needs water every two to three days. A simple Aguamenti charm will suffice."

The woman seemed angry at herself and at the plant. Sorrel resisted the urge to snap at the woman, her shyness preventing her from saying anything too brazen. The plant was not hopeless. "I'm sure the plant will be fine, with someone as smart as you taking care of it." Oh my god. What had she just said? That was not okay. What if the blonde woman thought Sorrel was flirting? She was just trying to be kind. That had been a mistake.

A huff escaped the woman. She rubbed her tired face with her hands. On top of everything - adjusting to the new school, owls from her mother trying to control her actions even though Leonie was an adult now - she did not need to begin taking care of a silly plant. She'd might as well just buy a fake one and be finished with it. She has a frown etched onto her face as she looked over to the woman approaching her side with a dull look on her face. It was clear the blonde was unimpressed, you didn't have to know her to be able to guess that.

"I don't have time for a plant like this," The woman grunted. She could feel a rant coming on, and it was probably best if she didn't rant to this girl. She didn't even know her, and she definitely didn't trust her enough to let all of her problems out on her. The most she could do was snap at her, and that was something that Leonie was very, very good at that. She placed her hands on her hips as her eyebrows furrowed, and her eyes narrowed into daggers. "Unlike some people who have the time to take care of plants, I have to do more important things. I'd might as well let it stay dead. I don't even know why I came here." She huffed out an angry puff of air, then turned towards the door, making her way towards it.

Her foot thudded against the ground with each step, the heels of her boots digging into the flooring of the greenhouse. She pushed past the door and outside, taking in a deep breath of the fresh, not-as-humid air that was outdoors. It was refreshing, and definitely where she wanted to stay. She brushed her clothing off from any trace of dirt that may remain, before taking a few steps away from the greenhouse, which could lead on to her going to the castle, if Professor Wright wasn't coming out to stop her. She briefly checked over her shoulder, then continued onward, a brittle sigh passing through her lips.
