Room 2

Percival has released Ileen from her arane bondage. She could not stand idly by as she heard Pride call out for help. She did not tarry at the side of the admittedly handsome boy who on a better day could have spent the afternoon holding his hand. Not that the damp, dank setting was the setting for romance, teens were notoriously not-picky.

A make-out session for another day. Although it is suspected that Percival is into goth chicks. Ileen would rush off, summoned by Mathias' pleas for help. Possibly the true reason for that 'fight' in the library.
Ileen rushes into Room 4
There were many students standing idle. While they were not helping their classmates, they would soon have to help themselves. A stinging sensation in their eyes, in their nares and the back of their throat. A tickle, a burn not unlike a cold or exposure or a noxious scent that was hard to place. The chloramine gas was spreading into this room.
Chloramine gas has spread to this room.
Room 3

@Bridget Collins was afforded a little more time to help them. @Santario Martin and @Starlee Kennedy were still unconscious at the bottom of the dry well, but santario was no longer actively dying. Starlee was still in terrible shape.
Bridget maintains Lumos Maxima
Roll: 6
The light from tip of Bridget's wand, Lumos persisted. A stone removed from the lip of the well was already partially moved aside by @Hjørdis Jensen. Indeed there was a loose stone as claimed and beyond this loose stone there was a short path to the base of the well. Jensen had cast Ferula on Martin, a spell that Bridget could have cast and staved off death even sooner had she thought of it. Fear had paralyzed her, prevented her from doing anything of use. Frank Hebert put it best when he said I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. Choosing a passive position in this adventure was a choice she had almost lived to regret. A lesson learned now that it has happened twice, thankfully only one death on her consciousness.

Yet there was something that did not sit right in all of this. They only found this path because of a mysterious note from someone that could quite possibly not be trusted, it was obvious that this dungeon was booby-trapped by someone for purposes undisclosed. Bridget really should not go down there either, but someone had to descend the well. Nora was bigger even if she would be angered by this statement, she would struggle to squeeze into such a narrow space. Starlee and Santario needed help now. No longer passive, not again she would push the rock a bit further and she would wiggle into the cramped quarters. She would see the skitter of spiders, real spiders as she eased herself into the narrow space. The carapaces of long dead insects littered the periphery. She was thankfully a slight of a thing, able to squeeze inside a space that Kagen's bony form was just barely able to fit. The twisting path would bring her to the base. A tight fit but she would make it to the base of the well.

Up close Bridget would see just how rough Starlee and Santario looked. Starlee was still unbandaged, dying at her feet. From above, Nora would cast Ferula once again as she also urged the children to fight the dying light. Concentrate, do not let things go dark. The night was the enemy for it harbored so many terrors. The least of these being the works of man, exposition here would reveal the fact that the dungeons have been frequented. In the absence of the hags which were driven out last year by the Professors, there was a great deal of unoccupied space. their cursed presence had irreparably altered the setting, leaving a sense of eerie gloom to these passageways but the newest residents had added to the 'decor.'
Bridget maintains Lumos Maxima.
Roll: 16

Henry Knight enters.
@Henry Knight had just returned from the room adjacent where he had laid eyes on Kagen but the unmoving, hidden youth that did not escape Knight's notice did not accept aide. good things come to those who ask. Was Kaegen injured? Possibly. Was Knight there to help? Maybe. But Deathmore was a poor judge of character and made even worse decisions.

Henry would leave Kaegen with a promise -- that he would bring help. Did he even mean it? hard to say as he returned to the previous room, Henry now possibly satisfied that he has found the source of the blood. The tip of his wand would remain lit, heralding his return.
Henry Knight maintains Lumos
Roll: 16
"How can I help, professor?"

"Follow Collins and get those two out of the well" the Head of House demanded. No please, no thank-you. there was no time for either. Besides, they would not be in this mess at all if they did not decide to 'go exploring' in the very dark, possibly dangerous dungeons.

As Henry's action was to offer help in lieu of helping the strange smelling lap that resembled a pile of dirty, boiled rags. The would see an opening about the base of the wall, a removed stone that he could squeeze inside of to descend the well and safely find the cramped base. If he followed he would find the conditions cramped with two unconscious girls on the floor and a second savior already there.

[Feel free to claim you descended as your action since the 1 room of movement was free.]

Room 4

@Mathias Pride had found @Selim Faust in a sorry state. He did not fully understand what he had stumbled upon. Exactly what chloramine gas was. Mathias was better known for his dark antics, his terrible and fierce ambition but there was nothing to be gained in Selim's suffering. There was no reason to leave the boy to die, a boy who was forgotten by his mates. One such mate would later confront him for betraying his house, it was ironic truly that he was the one that did not leave his housemates behind.

Selim would try to utter a warning that was likely lost to the boy. Barely able to stand, Selim;s wavering stance would suggest he was an easy target to rescue.

@Ileen Knight, probably no relation to Henry Knight would rush into the room, summoned by Pride's call. Selim was not helping himself. He needed to get out of there, and so it would have to be the two of them that dragged Faust into the next room as the chloramine gas continued to fill the room.

It was spreading, they really needed to run.

“Try not to breathe!”

Ileen would urge them both. Not that Mathias was particularly strong, Ileen being the more powerful of the noodle-armed duo. Not that Selim was particularly heavy, but they really could have used @Percival Rainwood at this very moment.
Attempt to drag Selim out of the room
Strength Check 16 Success
Matt Accuracy 15 (+7) Miss
Selmin Evasion 17 (+10)
Ileen Accuracy 3 (+9) Miss
Selim Evasion 18 (+10)
Selim was a wiggly runt, they would try to save the boy who could barely stand and he would wiggle out of their grip as they struggled to grasp him and help drag him to safety. The gas would seep into their lungs, it was spreading. Soon the gas would fill these rooms, leaving a large portion of these dungeons temporarily uninhabitable.

For the love of god, either comply or save yourself.

Room 6B

There was @Kaegen Deathmote (why have you stopped posting!) whose paranoia and self-imposed isolation had caused a bit of a mess. Several of these traps, oddly effective ones at that, were made by his maddened hand. Not that there was any proof of this, not truly.

He resembled a pile of rags that were unwilling to yield or comply to Knight's request. henry could not wait on Kaegen forever. there were people that needed him. People that would want him.
Henry Knight returns to Room 3.

Room 10

What in the ever loving hell was @Koko Riddle doing? She was just standing there! @Flash Holwood would cuss, not that the infernal word would do him any good. There were screams coming from the hall, it was Evelynn but Flash had problems of his own as he endeavored to keep the girl he had accompanied alive. She was not doing anything to save herself and for that reason it would have been pruden to leave her but some sort of moral obligation or psychological compulsion for heroics he did not leave her but in doing so he would abandon Evelynn.
Flash cast Lumos
Roll: 17
The light from the tip of the Slytherin's wand would flood the space. Indeed, the creature made of darkness and gloom would shrink in size in response to the light. it would not relinquish its hold. It would not hinder the darkness, however it would reduce the power behind the bite as it plunged into Koko's flesh once again. Cursed twice over, a second surge of pain.

---

Room 11

@Alexander Varellion was being attacked, stitched while still screaming or -trying- to scream as if he was a bit of thrashing rangs. The dolls donned an expression maddened glee. They were very much not alone, the fearsome animate toys were able to fling themselves with troubling accuracy at the duo whom had intruded upon the dolls' living space. No, from the looks of things their birthing place. Not that they had found a dead end, Alexander and @Evelynn Decipio had found a dangerous space that would be their death if they were not careful.

Eve would call out to Flash as she saw what they were doing to poor Alexander. What were they doing to him? Could a boy be made into a doll, some sort of reverse Pinocchio? There was blood and crude stitches. Help Flash you handsome failing to post protagonist! Evelynn was hardly a damsel but she could not face off against this on her own.
Evelynn cast Flipendo at the doll.
Wisdom: 13 Success
Attack 20 Critical
Evasion 10
She would blast the doll standing over Alexander's unmoving body brandishing a rusted needle. The doll would be launched off the boy and sent hurdling across the room. It would hit the far wall with an unceremonious thump where it would collapse onto the floor unmoving. Certainly not durable things they were, they had incredible destructive power considering what they had done to Alex. There were more, she could hear them. They whispered and they moved where her back was turned. They were preparing a counter strike, she would know this. How many could she defend herself against before she would be overwhelmed.

As Ileen rushed to the side of the two struggling boys she instantly noticed what they had meant. Something was indeed wrong with the air. Her eyes teared up and she blinked heavily, trying to get rid of the burning feeling that crept into them and her throat. Trying to breathe as little as possible, the young girl grabbed the free arm of Selim and tried to help him out of the room that increasingly became more dangerous.

But Selim slipped powerlessly through her fingers. Ileen was not the strongest, she was used to solving problems with her mind and her wand. But neither WIngardium Levios nor any of the other spells she knew would help them any faster. And one thing was clear. They had to get out of here as quickly as possible.

Her eyes flickered to Mathias to see how well he was still on his feet. He had failed just as she had in carrying the little boy on.
Panic threatened to overwhelm her. They were all doomed. If they didn't make it out of here, they would die. Ileen blinked hard and gritted her teeth as despair threatened to take the upper hand. She had lost a classmate once before (she had no way of knowing he would reappear next year) and she hadn't even known him. She knew Selim, though, and she liked him. She would not let anyone die again.

Wildly determined, she took his arm and tried to shake off the feeling of weakness. She put it around her shoulders to distribute the weight better on her body and hoped that Mathias would follow her example. "Hang in there! We can do this!" She encouraged not only the others, but herself as well. Her brown eyes fixed on the one Slytherin who was helping. Mathias. "When we get out, I'll cast Ventus, maybe I can use it to buy us some more time." It was at least something akin to a plan. Whenever something was weird with the air, Ventus had helped her.

But would they make it out? One thing she'd learned from her mother in dangerous situations. If you want help, talk to people in person and address them specifically. "Percival! Help us!" She called out to the boy who had just helped her, who was strong and nearby. A person she trusted. With him, they could make it.
Although she tried not to inhale so much of the air, she gathered all her strength and tried to continue supporting Selim towards the exit while shouting as loudly as her child's lungs would allow: "Get out of here! Everyone!"
If her classmates couldn't save others, at least they could save themselves. They would not be able to carry more than one person.

After needing a little while to recover from the transformed birds' attack, remove feathers out of her hair and decide what to do next, Opeila noticed something. The air... it... smelled strange. Her eyes soon began to burn and itch, as did her throat when she breathed in. The second year coughed and wiped her eyes, confused. Why- what was... Now her head hurt as well and slowly she began to understand. The air. Something was filling the air and the several students in the room were breathing it in.

Quickly Opeila pulled her shirt over her mouth and nose, blinked the tears in her eyes away that came from the air stinging in her eyes. Where could she go? The burning in her lungs worried her, after everything that had happened to her, what other than a curse could it be that they were breathing in now? The Slytherin made a quick decision and ran over to a door that seemed to lead to another room. Hopefully the air was better there... She had lost Flash, she had lost most of the others now, but right now, she had to prioritize herself and get out of the room.

Now she would go to look for the others.

It could not be said that things were really improving, but at least they were marginally better. Better was something, it wasn't giving up or dying. Naturally, the goal now was to continue inching towards 'good', in hopes that 'game over' didn't happened first. Koko must have been frozen in pain or terror, making it so the light merely illuminated the horror show in front of him. This was the whole 'curiosity killed the cat' thing, as he idly recalled the warning on the door rather than be able to concentrate on the present. The present was simple dreadful, after all.

He was quickly snapped back to reality when he heard the cries of Evelynn, unfamiliar in their fear and urgency. His skin crawled to hear it, feeling ill to his core in the midst of such ichor and danger. The path however was clear (after the panic had at least somewhat abated): free Koko, destroy the creature, save Evelynn, and escape. Simple. Detention would be wholly welcome at this point. Nice, calm detention.

Reaching out to take Koko's free hand if she was conscious enough to recognize the gesture and wanted to take it, he used his other hand to hopefully cast the spell correctly this time. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if he accidentally targeted the victim again, he had to steady his nerves or every advantage would be lost.

"Selim!" Mathias coughed into his sleeve. "Let us help you baka!" A Japanese word he was pretty sure meant idiot (it does). "Drag the slippery rat out by the ankles if need be, we can't stay!" He wheezed, pain and fluid starting to fill his lungs. This was really their last chance to help Faust and Pride was not entirely certain he would be able to drag the boy to safety.

Ileen would announce that she was going to cast Ventus once they escaped the ante room of the gas chamber. The "Windy Spell" or Ventus was a charm which shot a jet of strong, spiralling wind from the tip of the wand. It was something that they used often in duels to break away clouds of smoke or fog that would obfuscate an area.

Why Selim was still scratching at an open door like a temperamental cat was beyond him. "You don't get to stay and die," Mathias snapped with an uncharacteristic sample of rage. He was stubborn to a fault but he truly did not think this true, he should have left the idiot when he wiggled from his grasp like some sort of buttered swine. "Percival!" Mathias croaked, not particularly caring which one he summoned. They were both massive comparatively to him and moreso Selim, the matchstick boy of pallid complexion and sickly features. "Selim is too wiggly and heavy!"

"There is something in the air, it is burning us!" He was not as durable as the boy he was dragging out, he just had not been exposed for as long. Yet he could feel a tremble in his hand as he tried yet again to grip something, a shoulder, an arm, an ankle, a handful of his hair. He would enter a coughing fit that would wrack his fragile form violently.

Henry nodded toward the head of house's commands as soon as he entered the room again. The boy started following the girl down through the passageway of the work when he remember the stranger and his promise.

Henry wasn't about to break his word to the unknown student as he turned his head toward his head of house and spoke" professor, there's another student in the next room. I don't know if their injured or worse but I thought you should know," Henry would take a moment and glance over at his head of house remembering the stranger in the other room and his words to them.

Henry wouldn't wait another moment through and run down the passageway to the bottom of the well, behind Bridget. His blue eye would shine above the two girls, his throat felt like closing up for a moment as he took a breath.

Emotions hidden away behind the 'barrier'

The boy looked over at Bridget as he spoke" I could try to carry Starlee out while you carry Santario?" The lad wouldn't wait for another suggestion as he stepped closer to Starlee, his blue eyes scanning over her as his mind imagined the pain she was going through and will go through.

At least they would be able to help the two now and get the girls to the hospital wing where they could receive the help that they needed to survive their fall and this trip? Into the maze of dungeons however the young boy couldn't take his mind off of the stranger in the other room. Could they need help to? He found them so wasn't it his duty now to make sure they receive help as well?

Henry bent down and attempted to carry Starlee out of the well but the young werewolf wasn't the strongest person to and it would be a struggle, each step would be never less.

Percival followed Ileen's gaze his eyes narrowed as he stared at the mounting darkness ahead of them. It was possible that their dormmate could use help against the vicious rats that seemed to lurk within the depths of these rooms. A frown crossed his features as he gripped onto his wand tighter. Lady Luck had clearly been on his side so far. His last two spells had been completed perfectly, but the growing concern of how long this luck would last weighed on him. Percival was not too sure if the next time he raised his wand would turn out favorable for him.

A surprised noise broke out of his throat as he watched Ileen rush away from him towards the darkness. Towards those strange thumps. "Ileen!" his tone growing exasperated. The boy quickly moved to follow after where she had disappeared off to. His eyes widened as his breath caught in his throat. Hearing Ileen calling for him only moments after rushing away did nothing to sate the growing anxiety growing within his chest. The boy quickly rushed forward. His breath coming out in pants as he rushed forward. Percival stopped suddenly as he heard Pride begin to speak. The weasel from before warned him about something about the air. Quickly, he covered his nose and mouth with the black material that covered his forearm. A cough built up in his chest as he did his best to try and not to breathe in the gas.

Percival's eyes caught three figures struggling in the distance. His gaze locking on the crumpled form of Selim. It seemed that the black-haired boy was trying to evade Ileen and Pride. Though for what reason? Was the other merely dazed? Percival hardly knew much of the boy's motives. His dormmate was as evasive as a feral cat. Though, maybe that was why he did not have any problems when it came to the other boy. His brows furrowed as he pressed forward reaching the group. "What happened?" he asked as he moved to grab at the boy's left armpit with his left hand, and grab at his bicep with his right hand. If the boy managed to grab onto the boy he would drag the boy forward. Doing his best to not breathe in the toxic fumes surrounding them.

Don't think about it. She wasn't sure what exactly 'it' was. There were multiple things she was trying not to dwell on, like the insect bodies she didn't have enough room to shy away from and what would await her at the bottom. Her focus was needed for the ball of light at the tip of her wand, flickering slightly in a few places but stubbornly staying. It took willpower to keep going, too, to not turn around and leave the cramped passage, to start running and not stop until she was out of these terrible depths of the school.

No traps sprung, no dead-end reached. The passage actually did go where it said it would. Spilling out into the well's base, she would straighten from her crawl and move to brush off any insects clinging to her. Feelings of imagined crawling would scatter quickly, however, once her eyes locked on what she'd come here for. A small mercy: she was never going to forget this day, but her brain would block what exactly the two of them looked like from memory, only that it reinforced the sense of urgency. They were both bandaged now, at least, the works of their Head of House from overhead. When she kneeled down, she would be relieved to see the rise and fall of breath, present however faint.

She wouldn't be alone for long. Well, she'd technically been down there with Santario and Starlee, but that was maybe worse than it just being her. It was like being with two dead bodies, even if that thankfully wasn't the case. She would turn from the two of them and her own worries over how she was going to get them both out at the sound of Henry's arrival. Having help was good. And seeing him here meant he hadn't wandered deeper into the dungeons, that she wouldn't have to go after him once this was taken care of. Silence hung in the air for a moment, mixing with the sense of something dire. This was a horrible place.

But they could hardly stand there doing nothing. He offered to take Starlee. "Okay." Much more communication than that wasn't needed. Henry moved to do that, and she would ready to carry Santario. A glance back at the opening, sizing it up. There weren't many ways she could carry her through there. Honestly, a good way to do this probably didn't exist. She'd have to settle for something that worked, something that minimized jostling. As Henry went up first, she would squat down to loop her arms under Santario's, left hand still tightly gripped around her wand. Going up would be considerably more arduous than coming down, so she wouldn't be surprised if she lost the illumination, but she could try.

On the count of three, she lifted enough that Santario's head and upper torso would be safe from scraping along. That was what was most vital, right? The first stretch to the passageway wasn't so hard. Still, she cringed at how much of Santario was being dragged along the ground, aware that lots of things were broken. With luck, she couldn't feel any of this. Then it was into much closer quarters. Her leg muscles started to burn almost immediately, each backward step from a crouching position while carrying another person a strain. But she couldn't stop. Harder than before, she begged the space to not hold any dangers because it would be so much worse this time.

Come on. It couldn't be too much farther, could it? And then they'd be in a much more open space and their Head of House would be there to help and she could get Santario to the Hospital Wing. Just a little more...

Out. She needed to get out. At this point, it didn't matter that she had managed to belay two of the devilish creatures. Right now, there was no mirth in the success of the cast, the domination of her would-be assailants. Sinister laughter and giggling could be heard all around. In front. To the sides. Behind. They were closing in. Even if she couldn't see them, Evelynn knew that her time was numbered. She wanted to run. To save herself. It was only too evident just how dangerous these constructs could be. The unmoving form of the boy before her was proof enough of that.

Curiousity still hammered relentlessly against her mind, questions unanswered about what this place was, what exactly they had uncovered. She desperately wanted to investigate the room. To search through each cranny and every nook and fit together the whatever pieces they had uncovered. But she couldn't. Not with the dolls' persistent attacks. There was no use continuing forward if it would mean the end. Survive. That was the only thing that mattered currently. They had stumbled upon something greater than they could manage on their own.

Survive. Regroup. She would pass the information on to the adults, to the professors. They could pick up where she left off. With luck, perhaps they might even let her know what they uncovered. Hurrying forward, wand still aloft, Evelynn groped for the boy. As much as she wanted to rake her leave, she couldn't leave him behind. Not in good conscience, anyway. With a fist full of robe, she heaved, determined to drag him out with her all the way back to the entrance if she had to.

"Wake up!" She urged. Every bit fitted to her role as a seeker, Evelynn was far from brawny. Lithe and quick, that was what she was. It wasn't hard to drag a child, but it was harder for her than most. Still, she had been known to defy the odds and manage unexpected feats of strength when under pressure. Perhaps it was the lioness within. She called on it now, prayers silently sent to her God above, begging him to give her the strength to pull them from their folly and see them safe.

Please...Give me strength... God willing... please...

In Search of the Source of the Creeping Darkness Main Story
Having followed Flash and Evelynn into room 10, it didn't seem to matter to Jack at this point if he had been seen or not. As long as Professor Jensen nor Mathias tried to follow, he considered his maneuver a success. However, what lay beyond proved the danger was far from over.

While Jack had noticed Flash stop to help Koko, he lingered, uncertain if he should have tried to help or if his help might have made things worse. It wasn't until Evelynn shouted for help and Flash was unable to answer her call that Jack decided to make his move.

Rushing toward Evelynn's side, he pulled down the hood of his invisibility cloak and attempted to assist her carrying the unconscious body of Alexander out of the room so they could get back to safety. He, like Evelynn, wasn't very strong, but with their combined strength, perhaps they would just manage to make it before whatever creepy dolls in the darkness decided to attack.

"You have to wake up, mate!" he called to his fellow Slytherin, hoping to, with Evelynn's help, call him out of his unconscious state. Glancing at Evelynn as he tried to lift the boy by the underside of his arms, he asked the Gryffindor, "Are you hurt?"
