Henry walked through the corridor away from the courtyard and the Blossom Ball. The night was still young, curfew wouldn't be for a few hours still giving other plenty of times to spend with their friends.
Henry Knight had a brisk pace as he walked up a few flights of stairs to the second floor then turned left and continued on down the corridor. He was determined to get away. Get away from everyone around him. The noise of the music and laughter from below. The feeling of belonging somewhere. A feeling that the teen thought he would never experience.
Henry walk through the corridor, breathing fast as his mind spiraled. His right wrist bandaged from before felt numb with pain. The young teen walk through the corridor quite fast before biting his lower lip, his breathing quicken, wrist pounded with pain, his head throbbed from the thoughts spiraling around his mind.
Henry would come to a stop in the middle of the corridor. He was a alone at least for the time being. Standing in front of a window where the light from the moon shone through and illuminated the young lad slightly in its glow.
He begun to feel dizzy as his breathing quicken, right wrist throbbed with pain, chest tighten, head throbbed from the thought circling around his mind.
The teen couldn't think straight as the thoughts and breathing was creating a feeling of dizziness. Voices played in his mind of friends and ones he cared about, their words not necessarily true but his anxiety would play them over and over again.
"no one will notice that your gone"
His head throbbed
"only a burden on the lives of others"
His breathing quicken
"no one really likes you, their all just pretending"
Chest tightening with every thought
"they would all be better off without you"
Dizziness enclosed around him
"you only ruin the lives of the ones you care about"
His breathing quicken with every thought pursuing through his mind
"a failure that makes others fail as well"
His hands began to shook by his side with every incoming thought
"you will never find anyone that truly loves you because who could ever truly love a monster"
His head throbbed with every thought spiraling around his mind creating a feeling of dizziness
"everyone would be better off if you leave"
His hands started to shake faster by his side
"your nothing but a failure"
His chest started to throb
"everything that happened it's your fault, it always have been your fault"
He looked up and his shining blue eyes met the night sky, he would stare at it unable to move his gaze
"your a failure"
His hands shook
"Even Santario could see, she was probably talking about how much of a failure you are"
His chest tighten as it also throb with each new thought forming and spiraling in his mind
"she knows how you don't belong on the Vipers, probably"
His blue eyes gazing into the night sky as he felt numb
"You ruin everything no matter what"
His head throbbed as the thoughts continued to circle his mind
"You a failure and"
A beat as he was failing at keeping his anxiety controlled. As he was failing at keeping the monster... the wolf controlled...
"a monster"
A beat
"and you'll always be a monster that only hurts what it cares about"
A beat
Henry was good at controlling his emotions and hiding them from others. He was good at controlling his anxiety and hiding it from others. He was good at hiding the fact that he was a werewolf from others. But there are times when the stress and anxiety and pressure is too much for him to take. When he can't hide it anymore and finally he breaks. He breaks for a few moments. That is when the wolf reveals itself.
Henry broke
The stress got to him. The pressure was becoming unbearable. His anxiety was relentless. The wolf within got a few moments of freedom.
Henry screamed. A loud piercing cry. Not many would recognize it or know that it came from the quiet boy who rarely spoke.
He kicked the wall once then again. Breathing hard in between kicked before his eyes landed on the night sky. When he realized what happened.
Henry took a breath. Forced the wolf deep back inside. He took a breath and controlled his emotions again. He took a breath and controlled his anxiety again. He took a breath.
Henry felt his back lean aginest the wall of the corridor opposite the window staring out into the night sky. He slid down the wall and sat on the cool surface. His face didn't show any emotions but they were present. He would run a hand through his hair.
Resting his hands on his knees that he kept up, the teen would take the gold rusted pendant off his neck and stare at it. Running his hands along the symbol. No emotion could be seen in his face as he sat there in the corridor, holding a rusted pedant that he was looking at unaware he would be joined soon by another.

Even In Darkness, We'll Have Each Other
Rose really really hated herself. She hated what she had done.
It wasn't like she had done anything horrible or anything. It wasn't like she had ruined somebody's night.
She had dressed up, so excited about the ball. She had her harpy wings on, her beautiful dress, her earrings, her shoes. She had used all the generous gifts of her great-aunt from her huge collection. She had been so proud of herself, and she actually looked kind of pretty for once.
But the moment that she had walked into the Blossom Ball... She had thrown it all away. She had disregarded the gifts from Aunt Margerie. She had ignored her generosity, suddenly feeling like the ugliest person there. She was weird- nobody else had chosen to go as a harpy. She wasn't different or unique in any good way. She was... she was weird, and horribly dressed, and her wings were huge and obnoxious. She messed everything up. Just like she always did. And, for some reason, she couldn't bear to keep messing things up, and she left. She wasn't willing to let herself ruin anyone else's night- like Henry, Scarlett, Aldor, or even Drew. Of course, she doubted that Drew's night could be messed up- he was so laid-back and outgoing. But if anybody could ruin his night and mess everything up for him, it would be her. She didn't want to bring anybody down. She would just be a burden to everybody there, and there would be looks behind her back, people... whispering about her.
Strange.
Ugly.
What was she thinking? Why would she even think about letting herself have a good time? She was so dumb. People would just realize that she was no use hanging around and let themselves be dragged away. Just like last time, she would wait and wait and wait for them to come back.
But no one would come. Nobody would bother. Nobody would care. That's how small, insignificant, and ignorable she was. She didn't deserve a good night. She didn't deserve anything good.
The redhead was walking down the corridors, her perfect curls bouncing with every step. It mostly obscured her face, which she was glad of. Most of the school was at the ball, and nobody would see her walking down the hall... crying. She didn't even know that she was crying, but it would be evident to anybody who cared enough to look at her... to really, really look at her. Her black eyeliner around her eyes was smudged and dripping a little where the tears had passed through it, and her face was still wet and slightly shining where the light hit the wetness.
Rose didn't even know if she was mad at herself because she went to the ball, or because she ran away from the ball, or both. If she was going to be stupid and go to the ball, she might as well actually stayed. She didn't have to run away like a scared, small, dog with her tail between her legs. She didn't have to be so...
So weak.
Her ankle twisted as she stepped wrong. She flinched, closing her eyes in pain and putting a hand on the wall. A tiny little sob escaped her, through her fast-paced breathing. She leaned on the wall, picking up her foot gingerly.
She felt so weak right now. She had just ran away from the ball for no reason. She didn't know if going back would make her brave or even more weak. Who needs to be brave to go to a party? It was fun! It wasn't scary. It wasn't attacking her. It wasn't bad.
Why was her brain like this? More than she was scared of being a failure, more than she was scared of being weak, more than she was scared of being stupid and ugly... she was scared of herself. She was scared of how her brain was independent of her. Of how her brain tricked itself. Of how her body abandoned any logical thought, making everything oh so much worse. She hated that. That feeling of not being in control. Of not being good enough to be in control of herself. That was a deep, dark, broken part of herself that she wouldn't let anybody see. Not if she could help it.
Rose tried to move forward, but it was so hard in her heels. She slid down against the wall, her breath and hands shaking madly as she slid both of her heels off, making her feet bare. She stood up, taking both shoes in one hand, and hobbled forward a little bit, her motor skills quickly decaying.
A scream. It was loud and from the heart. Rose jumped violently and gave an involuntary squeak. The voice sounded so... familiar. She realized- finally- that she had been crying, and used her hand to wipe away the mess under her eyes as she rounded the corner and came into view of Henry Knight.
Henry, of all people, would be able to tell that she had been crying. Rose had forbidden herself from crying to stop herself from looking weak. But this wasn't about her. This was about Henry. Was he okay? She didn't matter.
Except she was a total mess tonight. She couldn't quite... hold it in. She couldn't quite hold herself in. Her pain, her brokenness. Her fear.
"You, too?"

Henry sat there in the corridors. Alone. Across from the window that was emitting light from the moon. Rubbing his fingers over the gold rusted pendant in his hands. He wasn't crying, he never usually cried. Not anymore. Not after the attack. Some would say all his tears were dried up and there were none left to cry. Henry would say if he started crying then he would never stop.
Henry ran his fingers over the sun rusted pendant, clutched in his hand as memories spiralled around his mind. Unsure what to do or where to go.
His right wrist, bandaged stung a bit. His anxiety was blocking out, numbing the pain before but now he could feel it. It only made his heart pound louder, heard throb quicker, and chest continue to remain tight.
The teen ran his fingers over the pendant. Staring at the symbols. Remembering the day that he received the pendant from his mum. Remembering her words about it. Remembering her voice.
'no matter how scary something seems just remember your not alone. You are as brave as a Knight and can burn as bright as the sun"
Henry closed his eyes and clutched the pendant tight in his left hand. The symbols making indents in his hand as his eyes were shut tight, he was seeing shapes and light colors behind his eyelids.
He was trying to remember the day he received the pedant. The last Christmas morning he would spend with his mum. Her words. Her voice. But everything was fading. Her memories. Voice. Her.
Henry open his eyes and loosen his grip on the pendant as his breathing quicken. He was losing his mother's memories. He was forgetting her. Her voice. Her appearance. Her.
He needed the cassette. He needed to hear her voice. He needed to listened to the song. To her advice.
However Henry didn't move. He remained where he was. Frozen to the corridor. To his seated position aginest the wall. Unable to bring himself to move. To leave.
His left hand holding the pedant, fingers running over the symbols. His blue eyes focused on the night sky and moonlight from beyond the glistening window.
Henry was told when he was younger. Before Hogwarts, when his mother died. When he was only six years old that his mother was still there. That his mother was inside of him and his siblings and whenever he needed her, she would be there. All he had to do was ask.
Henry felt like he needed her in the past hurt never did that. He didn't believe it. He didn't believe that she could hear him or could help. After all how could she? She was gone.
Henry took a breath and rubbed his fingers over the symbols of the pendant, eyes looking out the window as he was going to take their advice and talk to her.
"Hey Mum," Henry choked softly, finding the word mum difficult to say. Taking a breath as hio blue eyes reflected the night sky. The light from the moon.
"I need some advice, some help if you listening," Henry spoke feeling like it won't do anything. Like he was embarrassing himself. Like his words won't matter and no one would be there to help him. However he continued.
"I don't think I fit in, I don't think I belong at Hogwarts. I feel like a outsider, I feel different. Like a freak," Henry spoke the words that he kept hidden. That he didn't tell anyone. That he kept concealed. In coming out into the light to him and the invisible air that was his mum at least in his mind.
"I need your help, you advice. What would you do in my situation?" Henry whispered rubbing his fingers along the pendant as his eyes dropped down to it and he whispered "I need you, mum. I don't want to be alone or a freak, I need you." Henry didn't think anything would happen and let his blue eyes examine the pendant. Fingers running over the symbols.
At first there was silence. Nothing and no one around.
Then there was footsteps. Getting louder each moment. Henry didn't care though his blue gaze remained on the pedant.
Then a familiar voice.
Henry looked up and his blue eyes landed on a set of green ones with red hair.
Rose Moon. Wearing what look like a harpy costume and was crying.
Her words meant only one thing. She was having a bad night to. They were having a bad night.
Henry swallowed his tears, not that he was crying and moved over a bit for her as he spoke" yes." A single word reply to a two word question, it seem appropriate for the situation.
Henry ran his fingers over the pedant, Rose probably caught his badgered right hand and he caught her limp.
"Is your ankle alright? I could use the bandaging charm on it," Henry softly spoke as his eyes fell onto the pedant. Running his fingers across the symbols. The teen noticed something, he whispered to his mother for help. Did she listen to him? Did she send help in the form of Rose Moon? Was this no conscience but a work of their dead parents looking out for them? Her father and his mother? Did they send them together to help each other when their parents couldn't?
"Are you alright," Henry asked before taking a moment and adding, " I'm not."

Even In Darkness, We'll Have Each Other
It was probably appropriate that they were both complete messes. Rose wiped her tears away, and they stopped flowing as they locked eyes. She wasn't really crying anymore, but it was clear that she had been, between her smudged eye makeup and her cheeks. She wiped the wetness away, lessening the damage and the mess, and making her look a tad bit more presentable.
He gave a simple answer, confirming what she had thought before. "Do these balls ever end in anything good?" she asked. It was meant to be a little bit of a joke, to lighten the mood, but it just came out sad and miserable. Rose sniffed, brushing a stray curl out of her face, but it just fell back.
Henry's presence comforted her a little. She wasn't the only one who wasn't having a great night. He was a little bit of a mess, too, but definitely not like Rose was. She could see his wrist bandaged and realized he could probably see her not putting as much pressure on her leg. "I just twisted it 'cause I'm clumsy and 'cause of these stupid heels," Rose explained, glaring at the heels as if they had done something wrong. Rose didn't really think the heels were stupid. She thought they were really pretty. But she was just frustrated right now, and if she was going to take it out on something, her heels weren't the worst thing. "I'll be fine. But if you can bandage it, that would be great."
If given any instructions to do anything so that Henry could bandage it, Rose would comply.
She hobbled unceremoniously over to where he was standing, and put her heels on the floor, her feet still bare. She then took off her wings and put those down, too, on the opposite side of her from Henry. Then she slid down against the wall, curling her legs up to her chest. Sitting made her ankle feel a little bit better. She looked up to Henry when he started talking. He asked her if she was alright.
Rose paused to answer the question. Should she lie to his face and say yes? Because no, she was not alright. But she didn't want to ruin his evening. Should she dodge the question altogether? But-
"I'm not."
Henry's honesty would not be returned with lies. Rose shook her head, saying softly, "No." It was the complete and honest truth. The worst part was that Rose wasn't even sure why. She had just freaked out for no reason, got scared, had an anxiety attack, tripped and ran and tripped again and MERLIN she was so pathetic.
But... she would not ruin Henry's night or Henry's mood, since his night and mood were already ruined. When you hit rock bottom, which both of them had done, the only way to go is up. She wouldn't be dragging him down. She wouldn't be messing everything up. Everything was already messed up. The ball was messed up. Rose and Henry were messed up. All of this was messed up. She could hardly make it much worse or mess it up much more.
On one hand, that was kinda a good thing. On the other hand, that was a very very bad thing.
Somehow, this all felt so wrong. So bad. So horrible. That they were both feeling horrible and not okay and that everything was going wrong. The world shouldn't be like this. While also feeling so incredibly right. It felt like she was meant to be here with Henry, as if something bigger than just the two of them was happening. A little silly to think about, but Rose's hunches were, more often than not, right.
It felt like they were on an island. With fire and destruction all around them. But as long as they were together, they would end up okay. Even if they weren't in the moment. Maybe they would be.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" she offered. Rose didn't even know if she wanted to talk about it. But she thought she would give Henry the chance to, anyway, if he wanted to tell her or if he needed to get stuff off his chest. He didn't have to tell her, but she just wanted to let him know that she was here if he wanted her.

Henry sat with his back against the wall, staring at the glow of the moonlight shining in from the large glass window.
Henry felt cold. He felt empty. He felt like there was a barrier between him and everyone else. He felt alone.
Henry wanted to ask Rose what was the matter. He wanted to help her. He wanted to out her before himself. He didn't want to ruin her night anymore then it already was. But he couldn't. Henry couldn't bring himself to put on a smile, shove everything aside, and help her as usual. He couldn't. Not tonight. Not now.
A joke. Rose made a joke. It was met with no laughter, no smile, or reply back. Henry didn't feel like talking or laughing. He didn't feel like conversing. He felt empty and lost. The teen sat, staring at the window with zero emotion in his face.
She twisted her ankle because of the high heels and her clumsiness. Usually Henry would tell her that she's not clumsy and give facts on the dangers of high heels but he didn't. He couldn't bring himself to speak. To smile. To look say Rose. Afraid that his barrier would fall. Afraid that his emotions would break through. Afraid that he would shatter into millions of pieces and he wouldn't be able do put them together. Not again. Not now.
Henry took his wand from his jean pocket, pointed it at Rose's ankle and whispered" Ferula," a bandage shot from his wand and immediately flew to Rose. Tightening itself around her injured ankle.
Henry placed his wand besides him. The teen couldn't bring himself to ask her how it felt or speak. He couldn't bring himself to smile or look at her eyes. He just sat there, across from the moonlight holding the pendant. He didn't care if Rose saw or asked him about it, he didn't care if she judged him for it or asked about the other three necklaces around his neck. He couldn't bring himself to care. He couldn't. Not now. Not tonight.
Rose replied.
She wasn't okay either.
Honesty. They both had honesty with each other on one of their worst nights of their lives. Wasn't this important? To have honestly with someone in these types of situations. To feel comforted to talk to them and cry with them and listen to them. Was this a honestly indicating their close friendship or that in a few months they coikd be siblings?
Henry stared. The moonlight reflected in his blue eyes. He could feel his heart beat quicken, he swallowed. His head throbbed quietly hurt painfully within his mind, words from others circled around. Continously. His chest tighten. Hearing felt hallow. His eyes widen at the glow of the moonlight. The monster within clawed at the surface in desperate attempted to get out. To taste freedom before it was time.
Henry sat. In silence out the outside but screaming on the inside. He sat in pain, holding more scars than what meets the eye. He sat hiding the things that no one saw. After all who would see what the teen was truly going through?
'Let it out'
'Let the monster out of its cage'
'Let the monster out to take control for a little bit'
'Your weak and a failure, you can't keep it contained for much longer'
'Take a moment to rest and it the monster run things for a while'
'Close your eyes and let it out'
'No one likes you or wants you around'
'No one would care or notice if you weren't around'
'Who could ever learn to like a monster'
'Your a monster and will always be one'
'Let it out, you failed at everything else'
'It can't make things worse, you already made things worse'
'Let it out'
'Your pathetic'
'Let it out'
'Your a failure'
'Let it out'
'Your insignificant'
'Let it out'
'Your alone'
'Let it out'
'Your a monster'
'Now let the monster out'
Henry took a shaky breath. His emotions hidden behind a barrier, even his usual smile was gone. The teen wasn't who he usually is. He was the boy who was willing to help everyone, he wasn't someone who others would recognize.
Talking. Rose suggested to talk. To put to words how one feels. To remembered how one got to the place they are at.
Rose was sitting next to him. Waiting for a answer no doubt. Henry couldn't provide it. He couldn't talk. He could move. He felt paralyzed. From his anxiety. From his emotions. From the voice.
'let it out'
Henry sat figuring that Rose probably knew that he didn't want to talk. His eyes shined with the moonlight that rattled the monster. The wolf within. Clawing for a way out. Clawing to come out. Onto the surface.
'let it out'
Henry took a breath, staring at the window. He felt like he was losing himself. He didn't feel like he was the same boy who received his Hogwarts letter nearly two years ago. He didn't feel like the first year that was sorted into slytherin nearly two years ago. He didn't feel like the boy who arrived back for his second year last September 1st. He felt different. Strange.
"You dressed as a harpy, " Henry spoke. The words sounded strange. No sign of a smile or emotions. No happiness or sadness with the words. Nothing shown on his face. It was as if there wasn't any left to show. All the tears dried up. All the emotions used. All the fear squeezed out. Nothing was left. Nothing except a a body, a shell.
"That's wicked, that you went as a harpy. Your wings look bloody magnificent."

Even In Darkness, We'll Have Each Other
"Thanks," she whispered, as a bandage wrapped around her ankle. It braced her ankle a little, but it was probably still a good idea that she sat down.
Henry didn't talk. He didn't smile, or look at her, or even act anything close to normal for him. Rose didn't know which was worse for Henry- talking a lot or barely talking at all. Because sometimes, like when he told her about his race, and at the Trial of Fear, it seemed he had so many thoughts, so many things to voice, so many things to say, that he just couldn't seem to stop talking. But sometimes, like now, he couldn't bring himself to talk at all.
Was this what he always wanted to do around Rose? Did he want her to leave? Did he just want to be alone, and she had disrupted his refuge? Rose felt a horrible creeping feeling that he didn't want her there, and that she was messing things up after all. Maybe she was wrong about all that rock-bottom crap. Maybe she really was messing stuff up more.
Rose wanted to scream like Henry had, to shout at the air to tell all her worries to go away. It was so strange. They were her thoughts, her voice, her creation, and yet, they never seemed to belong to her at all. It was like a twisted, broken, hurting version of herself was constantly warning her of dangers that weren't there, of truths that weren't really true, of things that pointed to conclusions that she should never have gotten to.
And yet, to Rose, they were dangers, they were truths, and they were educated conclusions. In her mind, almost everything she thought was accepted as truth. She wasn't wanted. She was messing everything up. Nobody really loved her. The list went on and on and on.
Suddenly, it was like a hand had closed around her throat. Rose took in deep and controlled breaths.
What was happening to her?
Nobody was hurting her. There was no danger, but yet her blood was pumping with adrenaline and it was hard to breathe, unless she focused and thought about it. She wasn't crying anymore, but her head ached. She felt like she was going to throw up at any time, and if she stood up too fast she would pass out. Was she slowly dying, her heart and lungs malfunctioning from some disease? Should she go to the Hospital Wing? Would they just tell her it was all in her imagination? Would they just tell her she was vying for attention?
Was it in her imagination?
Was she just vying for attention?
Rose didn't know anymore. Nobody would understand. Nobody would get it. She would just have to be alone, a silent fighter through all this.
The redhead wanted a hug. She wanted Henry to rub her back and tell her it would all be okay. But she knew Henry wouldn't do that. He wasn't the kind to like physical touch very much, and if she did it just to make herself feel better, she knew that she would only be feeling so much worse.
She didn't want to cry anymore. She had kind of wanted to cry earlier, but now she just felt like sitting there, depressed and miserable, letting the feeling of despair consume her until it passed. She was done pushing it down. She was done bottling it up. She just wanted to sit and be depressed, and she didn't know if that was better or worse than crying.
Henry stated a fact. It was the first attempt at conversation he had really made. But he still wasn't really Henry. This wasn't Henry. This was Henry's body, using its vocal chords to state a fact. Anybody could do that. This wasn't who Henry was, or who Rose thought he was. There was a lack of emotion, of any effort in his voice. A monotone. A sheet. A mask. This was anything but Henry. Of all the stuff Rose wanted to talk to Henry about, she didn't want to make small talk. She didn't want to talk about what she wore.
But she played along anyway. Henry talking at all was better than him not talking. "Yeah," she said quietly. She guessed they were pretending everything was fine. "Margerie sends me the costumes. She has this huge collection of clothes and stuff." Rose sniffed. "A shame that it won't really be used. But thanks anyway."
She was letting her Aunt Margerie down. She was just wasting the thoughtful gift that had been delivered to her. It had taken several owls to bring all the components to her, and Rose felt bad that all that effort had been put into getting it to her and it wouldn't ever be used that much. She had repaid Margerie's kindness with her pathetic fear.
Rose looked over to the side, glancing at Henry's outfit. She hadn't really taken a good look at it before, but he was wearing jeans and an orange t-shirt. "Did you go as someone from Camp Half-Blood?" she asked. She couldn't see the front of the shirt from where she was sitting and the way that he had been looking out the window. Usually her observant eye would have caught the words on the front, but she had just been so anxious that it had slipped her mind.
Camp Half-Blood was from a popular muggle book series called Percy Jackson, following a demigod who went to camp Half-Blood with other demigods. They wore orange t-shirts. That would be Rose's best guess, since he wasn't in a toga or anything. Or maybe he hadn't gone to the ball at all, and was just wearing normal stuff. Anyway, Rose had read the books by Rick Riordan (as well as his other series) at least twice, and had enjoyed his books. They were clever and funny, yet serious at times. Perfect for kids.
If he confirmed her guess, she said softly, "That's really clever. I liked that series. I guess it was a simple costume to pull together, huh?"

'let it out'
Henry rested his hands on his knees, blue eyes cast straight at the window where the glow of the moonlight was shining in. Shining down on the two students, while the second year listened to Rose comment about his compliments on her costume.
'Let it out'
The young teen wasn't in a talkative mood or in a mood to be around anyone else. He leaned his head against the cool stone wall of the corridor, the gleam of the moonlight reflected in his blue eyes as the wolf within stared memorized at the light clawing to reach the surface. To get out and be free.
'Let it out'
The second year lived through numerous transformations, he had experienced as a werewolf and lived that ways for years except he didn't have the same experience like some did. He never got to run among a forest or learn about his werewolf abilities and control them, he never got to embrace the wolf within.
'Let it out'
Instead each full moon, including at Hogwarts he is hidden away from the world. Locked up to protect himself and others. He learned that being a werewolf was a curse, one that had to be hidden and feared. He started to fear the wolf within, hiding and locking it away from the outside world so no one would be able to see it. Would be able to see the monster that he believed he was.
'Let it out'
Clawing at the surface. Threatening to get out. The second year took a steady breath, focused on keeping the wolf within contained and concealed. He couldn't lose control, not again. Not since the last time...
'Let it out'
The young teen heard Rose's voice. Oddly it was comforting, sitting in the dark corridor and talking with Rose. It felt strangely comforting and soothing to the lad. He thought he had people to confide in and grow close to, his older brother who he couldn't see for a whole year... unless he wrote to him through letters but in situations was letters enough?
He had a best friend; Logan Baird who was his first friend at Hogwarts and still they were friends growing closer each day. Telling each other secrets and listening to each other. He he truly grateful for the girl but weren't there things that he didn't tell her? Things he kept from her so she didn't worry? Things like that night? Things that strangely he felt comfortable telling Rose...
There was his other best friend; Cash but they were different. They didn't tell each other about their emotions or family or stuff that bothered them. Instead he practiced for their teams together, they joked and planed pranks and caused chaos together. Similar to two other who went to hogwarts who were gryffindor's....
Strangely he felt comfortable confiding in Rose about these things and didn't have to wirte in words about it, perhaps she felt the same...
'Let it out'
Nodding toward Rose, still looming straight at the moonlight as he softly spoke" your lucky to have a relationship with your aunt, " the second year have never a chance to meet either side of his family then after his mum died, her existed felt completely erased by his father even going as far as moving cities to erase her.
'Let it out'
Taking a breath before Henry would speak" and it didn't go to waste, someone saw it and likes it a lot," the lad would look over at Rose nodding a bit toward her before moving his eyes back toward the window as he listened to her voice with its unique american accent that he always enjoyed.
'Let it out'
Another breath, his eyes laid steady on the window as he spoke" a camper of cabin 6, have you read the series? The Percy Jackson book series was a gift from.his brother when he started to get into greek gods and use to read every little detail about them, when he read the Percy Jackson series the boy was fully engaged. Loving every word and imaging what it would be like if he was a halfblood himself.
The lad never seen the movies or heard that there was Percy Jackson movies but if he did then he would he fully interested and would want to see plus compare them to the books...
'Let it out'
A breath, his blue gaze on the window as he replied" I guess," taking a moment to focus as he wasn't sure if it would be the best time to start a conversation or if he would be greedy and selfish because Rose might want to sit in silence... The teen took a breath and looked forwarded deciding to take a small chance, feeling comfortable around her as he spoke" who would be your godly parent?"
'Let it out'
Memories flashed through Henry's mind of Annabeth saying that they would be the children of Aries whose know for war and strategy. She would say that since he was strategic and a bookworm while she was a mischief maker and prankster.
Taking a shaky breath at the memory as he slowly spoke" I would be the child of Athena but Anna always said we would be the children of Aries," slipping the gold rusted pendant over his neck, not worried about Rose seeing it or asking questions on it as he lifted the other three in his hand.
Holding up the wolf necklace he spoke" Logan has the a matching fox one," placing it on his necklace besides the gold rusted pendant still looking forward as he held the necklace with the shoe charm and continued" the winged shoes that Luke had, he was always my favorite character. Who is yours?" Placing the necklace on his neck besides the other and holding the final on as he spoke" Anna's athena necklace."

Even In Darkness, We'll Have Each Other
"I know," she said quietly. Except she ruined it and let the generosity go to waste. She wouldn't be able to tell the truth when she wrote her great aunt back and told her that she had so much fun at the ball, in her harpy costume. She couldn't bring herself to tell her great-aunt that she had let the costume go to waste and hadn't even been at the ball at all. She had put her trust in her great-aunt. She had let her be generous to her, and then just wasted it, let her down, and did nothing with her gift. It was like asking if you could borrow something and then letting it sit in your closet without a second thought until the person asked for it back. She felt like she was letting Margerie down.
Rose appreciated his words, not that she really believed them. The thought was nice but her wings were huge and obnoxious, and it just looked like she was vying for attention. On any other person, it would have looked wickedly cool, but on Rose? On Rose, it just made her look like a freak. Rose pulled her knees a little closer to her chest, glancing over to Henry and saying, "Thanks." Maybe he did like her costume. Rose decided she would give him the benefit of the doubt. He wouldn't lie to her, right?
The redhead nodded. "Yeah. It was a long time ago, though. I'll have to go back and reread it sometime." When she was little, she had gone through phases entirely reliant on what books she was reading at the time. Black Beauty, Warrior Cats, Narnia, Black Stallion, Serafina- any book series she could get her hands on, she would have a phase. Percy Jackson was one of them. There had been Percy Jackson roleplaying games galore. Though Rose's siblings cabins largely stayed the same, Rose's changed from time to time. She had been the child of Hephaestus, Aphrodite, and Hecate. For a while, she was a hunter of Artemis, but that only lasted until she learned that Hunters of Artemis couldn't marry or have a boyfriend. She had been a child of Demeter, and Hera. But she always liked to think she was a child of Hecate, goddess of magic and spells. She sniffed, brushing her hand on her nose. "I liked to think that I was the child of Hecate. I guess magic was just interesting to me. I think that's- cabin 20?" She thought it was funny now, that she had thought she would be so good at magic, and then failed all three of her duels.
Rose listened as he listed the necklaces he had around his neck. Each of them meant something to him. Rose fingered her wrist, where the bracelet they shared rested. She had taken Aldor's off, since it didn't really fit with her outfit. But something had stopped her from not wearing Henry's. A yearning, maybe, to not be alone. Her bracelet reminded her she wasn't alone. It reminded her that Henry trusted her with his secret. His deepest, darkest secret. Her eyes traced the sun pendant and the wolf necklace. If she looked close enough, she could see that both sets of paws made half of a heart. He explained Logan had the other one, a fox. It would make a heart together. She saw the shoe and the wings, familiar from Percy Jackson. He stated that Luke had always been his favorite character. Rose cocked her head at his question, pondering it. "I always really really liked uh- Grover. That's his name. I really liked his own story." And plus, Rose was a nature geek so she really identified with Grover in particular. She smiled a small smile once he had finished showing her all his necklaces. "I like them. I like them a lot," she said quietly. If he looked in her eyes, he could tell it was sincere.
Henry was extremely good at taking her mind off of things, wasn't he? He was getting her thinking about Percy Jackson instead of the disaster that the ball had been. Rose looked at the sky, seeing how dark it had gotten. "I forgot how late it was for a second there," she said softly. She stood up gingerly, her ankle feeling significantly better. "I think I'm going to head off to my dorm," she said. "Can I hug you?" she asked. If the answer was no, then she would smile at him and give him his own personal space. If it was yes, she would come forward and put her arms around his neck to hug him, lingering there for a moment, just holding him, then pulling away from him. Rose strapped her harpy wings back on and took her shoes in one hand and started walking towards the Gryffindor dorms. She stopped in her tracks, however, and looked back at Henry.
"Thank you."
Henry had saved her night from complete and total failure. He had saved her night from being the worst ball she had ever been to. He had saved her night. And she would always be grateful for that. She wiped her eye with one hand before tears could escape any more and walked away, not quite in the victory that the ball should have brought, but not quite in the defeat she had been in previously.
Thanks to Henry Knight, her ball experience had been mediocre instead of horrible. "Thank you," she whispered again, even though he couldn't hear her. Maybe, just maybe, the thanks wasn't for him this time. It was for whatever power had brought her to him, had brought them together when they had both needed each other most.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you."

Closer Look: Necklaces 1-3| Necklace 4(Wolf one)| 4 different bracelets on right wrist
The conversation is slim and far apart. Henry didn't mind, he enjoyed the silence. Staring at the window where the light from the moon was reflecting in. The night wasn't the greatest and contained multiple events and decisions but what it resulted in wasn't that bad.
Sitting in that corridor, the reflected light peering down on them. Watching the two. Giving them a spotlight to their own story, sheading lightb on the two of them.
Henry looked over at Rose. Being in that corridor, at night with her wasn't the best but it wasn't that bad either. It was peaceful.
The conversation picked up. Henry looked over at the girl, blue eyes aimed for the gryffindor girl as he listened to her. Percy Jackson books are the highlight of the conversation, Henry watched and listened to her words. Thinking back on past memories for himself.
The lad remembered finding greek mythology fascinating and reading everything he could on the subject, a child determined to learn everything he could on the subject. His brother brought him the Percy Jackson series soon later, Henry read the books multiple times and soon he got Annabeth into them as well laughing over how her name was in the books.
They picked cabins and had role playing games during the day, racing around pretending that they were at the camp or hunting monsters. That was another time. A happier time. A time where a young boy didn't know of the horrors of the world, who only had a smile to share and light in his heart.
"I haven't read it in a bit to, just photographic memory," Henry replied with a soft smile, the thought of rereading the series put a shiver down his spine. The lad couldn't imagine doing it. Reading a book from his childhood, from his time before he was monster. From before he had both darkness and light within him.
Henry nodded to her words, Cabin 20. The cabin of magic. How symbolic since they were at a school for magic. It reminded him how his twin sister always said they were the kids of Ares. One twin represented war and the other represented strategy. Henry softly smiled at the memory as he replied " you are a brilliant witch and you great in classes that we share, I believe you are in cabin 20," glancing over at the girl for a moment.
Characters. The topic changed. Luke was his favorite character. In the beginning, Luke reminded him of a brother figure and enjoyed the protective nature that Luke showed to the others. When Luke betrayed the rest, Henry enjoyed reading and seeing how the boy struggled with both light and darkness within him.
Nodding toward Rose's words on Grover being her favorite character than about his necklaces, the boy moved his eyes toward the window.
Silence
It was peaceful. Perfect. Bliss.
Rose's words. The teen looked back at the window, it was late. Dark. Had he not noticed before? Was he to caught up in himself, in his anxieties? In the wolf? To know how late it was?
"I should get going to."
Henry replied as he pulled himself off the ground, blue eyes looking out the window. The light reflecting in them. Reflecting the moon. Turning back to Rose and nodding at her question, he would hug her tightly for a few moments before they went thier separate ways.
Henry would take the long way to the dungeons, looking at the moonlight, thinking to himself how that night was surrounded by darkness but light still came out of it. Sitting there with Rose was a highlight of the night. That night only proves that lightness is entangled with the darkness. The two are mixed. Forever.
