@Cody Stevenson[font=Shining Like Stars]You officially hate the Portkey. The feeling is so strange. You feel like you're being swept away in such a brutal way... As you arrive on the lawn of Hogwarts Castle, you dust off your recently turned Purple kimono. Kaito's turned lavender around December oh his first year so you are glad. As you stand up, you see a very medieval European castle. Hogwarts. I hear it's an excellent school of magic, but it doesn't have the same rigidity and level as Mahoutokoro. They have a teacher who speaks your language. That's great.
After dropping off your belongings in the huts, the six schools gathered in the Great Hall for dinner. You didn't know where to sit yet. Maybe at the Ravenclaw table? You were heading towards it when a boy welcomed the other schools. You turned your head as he continued:
- Hello! In addition to the Hogwarts Professors that you will come across, I will also be here for you all, I mean- if you want me around... very few select people want me in their presence since an issue I caused is causing others to be reluctant. But- my name is Cody Stevenson. I am a Hufflepuff here at Hogwarts, and yes, I am a First Year!
- Hey! Hey over here, Stevenson! Get over here, I have questions!
You turn your head towards the voice that just spoke. You raise your eyebrows. Aryaan Shamsi. Why are you not surprised that it was him who spoke? Aryaan is not like the others. You find him perhaps a little too energetic. He could be friends with your brother. Except that you too have questions. So you go back to the Hufflepuff table to join Aryan and Cody.
- Hi Aryaan. I have a question too Cody. What is the overall grade point average at Hogwarts? Just to get an idea of the level.

★==Fyodor had been hesitant to leave his school for any reason following the Hogsmeade incident, let alone go back to the offending school. Hogwarts was big and brash and boasted far more than it should. As far as Fedya was concerned, the school was too self-involved and concerned with itself, as if a school could be narcissistic.
He'd never visited Hogwarts himself, but the stories were enough for him. The story of the explosion in Hogsmeade had spread through the Koldovstoretz student body like wildfire. Fear was seeded in their minds and took hold with sharp fish hooks in their chests, unrelenting and leaving no room for debate.
Hogwarts was dangerous. Hogwarts was a target. It surely was a death sentence. Fedya had nearly kicked and screamed in an attempt to get out of the whole trip, but in the end, figured that an academic excursion couldn't hurt in the long run.
Of course, this would be so much easier if the kids to his sides would stop yelling as if Hogwarts were a big bloody party. This wasn't a party, it was a loud, gross, garishly decorated hall that Fedya would very much like to vacate immediately.
He was stuck here, though, for the Fall Ball. Gaining new experiences and all that, getting socialized and used to his surroundings and other students.
Fyodor wasn't terribly extroverted, really, he wasn't. He just didn't appreciate when everyone around him acted as if it were Christmas eve and they'd just seen the elusive Santa Claus come down their chimney with a sack of gifts and a big, jolly grin. No, this was Hogwarts.
I really value when people use violence for me, it's actually one of my love languages.

Welcome to Hogwarts

He entered the Great Hall with his classmates and professors, the din of crowds, the smells of a feast, and the glowing candlelight enveloping him. High gothic arches reached for the skies, disappearing into the enchanted ceiling that he had read about prior to his arrival at Hogwarts. How different Hogwarts was, with its rising stone columns and vibrant colors of each house, as compared to Mahoutokoro, with its muted colors and hardwood interior.Open to interactions

Akira adjusted his dark navy uniform, which he wore proudly. The main line of the pureblooded Shimizu family had worn the darker navy and purple colors for centuries, with smatterings of the honored gold. This was certainly a reputation to live up to, and the boy was honored to have been selected as a member of the delegation this year.
He glanced around to take in more of his surroundings, but a loud shout caught him off guard. "HELLO BOYS AND GIRLS!" His ears rang with the noise that cut above the already overly rambunctious din of the crowds. How jolting. He turned around to see a young boy with light hair introduce himself as Cody Stevenson, of Hufflepuff house at Hogwarts. Before he could offer the boy a polite smile, Shamsi-san jumped in, as per usual with an ebullience that could only be emitted by the Indian boy whom no one would've thought was Japanese.
Kobayashi-san, however, seemed to have an actually appropriate question. "Hello, Mr. Stevenson. I'm Akira Shimizu of Mahoutokoro; it's nice to meet you." He introduced himself with a small bow. "Indeed, I'm quite curious how you can distinguish one another at Hogwarts, if you don't wear robes according to academic aptitude?" Perhaps they posted the pupils' rankings on a bulletin board in the hall every week? How unfortunate it would be, if you didn't know your class partner's ranking until you began working with them.
He wouldn't imagine what question could possibly come out of Shamsi's mouth. One never knew with those of his unpredictability. Perhaps he should stay in place, just in case he had to apologize to Mr. Stevenson on Shamsi's behalf. It wouldn't do to have Mahoutokoro's name besmirched in the first hour. If the situation ever got out of hand, though, he would simply excuse himself and sit down to enjoy a nice bowl of unagi don with Ohashi-san, who was already enjoying her dinner nearby.

Hogwarts. The safest place in the world, as some would say. But not Nate, he would claim the opposite and never thought he would set foot in this castle again, let alone come anywhere near this place. But now here he was again, having vowed not to show up here again. But everyone deserved a second chance, right? So also Hogwarts. But it wasn't just his generous nature and the adage about second chances that had ensured Nate was back here, actually the reason was quite different. Of course there was a ball again for the festivities and Nate could visit the friendships made on the last visit, but much more he was curious to meet a very specific person live and in colour.
After Nate had travelled back to Russia after Summer Camp and was happy to put all the events behind him and deal with the loss of classmates and friends, an unexpected letter arrived. A letter from none other than Cassandra Ironwoods. The two had not met during his time at Hogwarts but it turned out that their mother and his mother had been work colleagues several years ago. One letter quickly turned into two, three and at some point he had lost track. In his life he had never exchanged so many owls as with Cassandra and he was all the more curious to finally meet them in person.
But Nate had to admit, it was a strange feeling to arrive here again. All the memories of the last ball and his breakdown were replaying in his head. The explosion and how he ran hand in hand with Irina and saw the bodies of his classmates. It was almost too ironic that they would come back to this place and celebrate here, but he had to look to the future. To let the past be the past. All this was easier said than done and when he thought of the coming ball his palms started to sweat. But before he would even go to the ball, he would first have to ask Cassandra if they wanted to be his date. He knew it was short notice, but his principles had prevented him from asking her by letter. He was too much of a gentleman to ask a woman out by letter. Merlin beware and his father would overhear such a thing, but he was his father's son and so he would ask in person in the classic way, even if that meant he might end up without a date because he was simply too late. No date, no ball, he could live with that situation too, although deep down he had to admit that he liked the first option better. But maybe then without drinks at the ball.
Even if he wouldn't admit it, he wasn't just nervous about Hogwarts and the ball, but also about meeting Cassandra for the first time. What if they couldn't stand each other in person at all? C'mon Nate. Stop it. the American-Russian boy admonished himself. Since when do you worry about such things? And since when do you talk to yourself in your head? Nate tried to turn his head off as he stepped through the large door into the great hall and to his surprise his plan worked immediately. He had almost forgotten how magical this room could be. Several students were already sitting at the long tables, pumpkin heads magically floated in the air and fires were lit on the walls, giving the room a warm illumination.
The room was filling up with more and more students from Hogwarts and the other schools and Nate doubted there would be room for everyone. His eyes darted to the table on the left, because if he remembered correctly, it was the Slytherin table. He knew Cassandra was in Slytherin and wanted to sit at their house's table so they wouldn't have to seek him out at one of the other tables. The green robes confirmed his suspicions and he tried to find another empty seat on the long benches where he would fit.
It was exasperating, it almost seemed as if there would be no more room for the tall and wide Nate, but just as he was about to give up, he found a seat between two boys who suddenly seemed even smaller as Nate sat down in their midst. "Nate Smirnow. Koldovstoretz."he introduced himself briefly and was back to his normal behaviour
before his gaze wandered along the long table.

Just as Sana set down her bowl, someone shouted. Before looking to see who it was, she adjusted her chopsticks so they were the way they were before she ate. She picked up a cloth from the table, and wiped her hands carefully. Then she looked up at the short boy who had taken up screaming to everyone. Her fellow classmates had certainly payed attention to the boy, and Sana was interested in what he had to say. Shamsi was, at most.
She raised an eyebrow and headed over. She gave a slight bow of her head to Akira, then to Sakura. Both had good questions, and Sana wanted to know the answer to this too. She couldn't help but look at Akira with respect, and the robes he wore were the reason. It was like him to want to know, especially since he was intelligent himself.
She smiled Cody, and gave a small bow. "Hello, I am Sana Ohashi, it is lovely to meet you. As these two have asked, I am curious to know how the students of Hogwarts are ranked? At Mahoutokoro, it is by the color of our robes. I hope to one day have the same shade of blue that Shimizu- san does." She smiled at Shimizu-san.
She looked at her robes. She was proud of the color, but of course, one could also wish to push themselves further.
Turning to Sakura, she said "この学校は確かに違います。 " 1

Sana Ohashi @Juniper Kelly[font=Shining Like Stars]- Hello, Mr. Stevenson. I'm Akira Shimizu of Mahoutokoro; it's nice to meet you. Indeed, I'm quite curious how you can distinguish one another at Hogwarts, if you don't wear robes according to academic aptitude?
Before Cody could respond, another student from Mahoutokoro spoke up. Recognizing Shimizu-san, you bow slightly. He can't be much younger than you, since you're in the same year. But his hakama is navy blue so you owe him respect. Soon you will be at his level of excellence, that is one of your many objectives. And nowing that you have the same questions as a classmate who is at a higher level than you, you find it encouraging.
- Hello, I am Sana Ohashi, it is lovely to meet you. As these two have asked, I am curious to know how the students of Hogwarts are ranked? At Mahoutokoro, it is by the color of our robes. I hope to one day have the same shade of blue that Shimizu- san does.
この学校は確かに違います。
Smiling at the newcomer, you are happy that other people think the same as you. Hogwarts is definitely different. From what you've read about the school, it's the best in Europe and it's separated into four houses. Ravenclaw for the clever, Slytherin for the cunning, Hufflepuff for the loyal and Gryffindor for the brave. It's not a bad system but you prefer Mahoutokoro's. At the same time, it's your school. It's normal to think that your school is the best.
- I also think that this school is different. And I am sure that the level is not as elitist as in Mahoutokoro.
Shimizu-san, I'm glad you have the same questions as me. And this colour suits you very well. I hope to reach it soon.
Tell us, Cody Stevenson, how do you manage to live in a castle like this? I think there's too much stone.

All through the tour of their cabins and the grounds, Tavi had strayed to the edge of the crowd and watched even his own classmates with wary eyes. Since he was relatively new and didn't know anyone that well, he wouldn't exactly be able to tell if anything was amiss with one of them and so anyone could be a terrorist in disguise with Polyjuice Potion or Metamorph abilities. After spending so long in a tight-knit group where you could trust any member with your life, being a stranger in a strange land was enough for the anxiety to be suffocating.
By the time dinner rolled around he was exhausted from the high-alert adrenaline of the day, and he picked at his food in silence, eyes fastened resolutely on the meal as he tried to loosen the tension in his shoulders. The somberness that had hung like a thundercloud over the entirety of his school did nothing to help his mood, and the clash of that with the merriment coming from other schools set his teeth on edge. The high-pitched squeals of laughter, the happy rapports, the joking calls to friends... What was wrong with these people? Did they not mourn the dead or at the very least have a mourning period? It was so at odds with what he knew that he was nearly wearing his shoulders around his ears, and each new peal of laughter set him taking apart the food in front of him with ever-more vigour.
He finally managed to drag his gaze away from his plate when it looked like a small bomb had gone off on it, and he found at least one other person who didn't look to be thrilled about the whole situation of being in a school known for being the target of terrorism. Fyodor Adrikovich if he remembered correctly - he'd seen the other boy around and knew him by name and face, though not personally. Never one to initiate a conversation, Tavi dipped his head in a small nod of solidarity because Fyodor Adrikovich seemed like one person who understood this place was not all sunshine and giggles.

Cody would continue smiling, because as of the moment, there was nothing to have a fit over, or to have to fight for no reason. It was the unification of five schools. A rather interesting young man passed by, having heard some rumors that he might've came last year, he thought it was correct and safe to say that man was Felix (@Winnie Harper) . "Hello Felix! How are you today, I'm hoping you're doing ok?"
He was being called over to a boy... from Mahoutokoro? (@Hui Ming) Why? Of course, he did volunteer himself to answer questions and to assist them. But he never thought he'd be called over to talk to someone. "Yes sir. What do you want sir?" Cody gave him a few minutes to talk, clearly curious, and he was fascinated by the accents around the world and the different languages they speak, so he looked at the boy with an amused look on his face.
A girl (@Lin Evanvleck), also from Mahoutokoro, asked him a question. About their grade point average at Hogwarts. "Uhh- I'm not too sure about that. Um, I know that we have six grades... Outstanding, Exceeding Excellence, Acceptable, Poor, Dreadful, and Troll. In that order from best to worst. And I think on average, everyone total has acceptable, but I might be wrong."
A Russian boy (@Maggie Hawkins) seemed to be suspicious of Hogwarts, as if it was dangerous. With that in mind, he politely excused himself, only to return back to the duo he was just talking to, after he talked to the Koldov boy. "Hello, sir. I know very little Russian, but I will try to... say a few words in your language, if it helps. Um, Меня зовут Коди Стивенсон, и я второй год здесь, в Хогвартсе. У вас есть вопросы?"1
He returned to the group he was talking with previous to the suspicious encounter with the Koldov boy. Another Mahoutokoro boy came up to him, "Akira Shimizu, it's nice to meet you too! Thank you for coming today!" Shimizu (@Avery Chen) began to ask a question about how we could differentiate others by our robes. "Um, we don't exactly have ranks, if that's what you're meaning, but we do separate ourselves by our Houses. Hufflepuff is yellow and black and have as badger a their mascot, and I'm a part of that House. Gryffindor is red and gold and has a lion as their mascot. I can't believe my first Gryffindor is an enemy. Uh- Ravenclaw is blue and bronze and has an eagle as their mascot. I have two enemies from that House. And last, Slytherin, and they are green and silver with a snake as their mascot, and maybe I have an enemy in that House. If by ranks, I might say that we do have Prefects and Head Boy/Head Girl. (note, we don't actually have Head Boy/Head Girl just yet on site.) Is there anything else sir?" Cody finished, still in disbelief that in the first month of being in school, he made four enemies. "Oh, the Prefect and Head Boy/Girl are differentiated by the badges they wear." Quickly, he realized what Akriza was asking. "BY our academic ranking? Oh I am SO SORRY! We have a House Point system, where we get rewarded House Points or lose House Points. The winning House gets awarded. "Yet another Mahoutokoro student came up to him, making him feel popular than he ever was, in a good way. The female student introduced herself. "Aww, you have such a fantastic name! Uh- before I answer your question, let me try out a phrase in your language. 何か質問がありますか?"2 Of course, Cody knew very little, and by that, he means VERY LITTLE, in Japanese. But he only knew two phrases, the other being, "ありがとう!" He looked Sana (@Juniper Kelly) in the eyes. "Ok, to simplify what I told Shimizu, we rank by students, prefects, head boy/girl, professors, and Headmaster. It's rather simple, but by academic, in that mindset, we gain or lose House Points and the winning House gets rewarded. I only wish that the losing House gets detention." Cody quickly covered his mouth. Of course he said something he should've not said, that should've not been a surprise. But he was in front of new people, people he could possible be friends with! If only if Juniper was here to assist him, he'd be better off guiding the kids asking him the questions.Oh boy, Cody realized that he should have bowed to Shimizu, as he had a navy uniform. Of course, Cody wasn't from that school, but he still desired to show other people the respect that they deserve. "I'm sorry Shimizu, I didn't realize I had to bow to such a intelligent young man like yourself." Cody's words scared him. Was he having one of his wild card changes right now? He used to be so chaotic, and now, he's peaceful and respectful. It was spine chilling. The same female he was talking to earlier, before he talked to the Koldov boy, was asking him how he could stand to live in such a castle like Hogwarts. "So, uh, I have no true way to explain it, but I was never a fan of nature, and well, I feel like by living in this castle, I have been getting my daily dose of Nature, and perhaps, a few extra enemies." Cody added in, and began chortling.
1- Hey, my name is Cody Stevenson and I am a second year here at Hogwarts. Do you have any questions
2- Do you have any questions?
3- Thank you!

Despite the somber mood surrounding the Koldovstoretz delegation, Tarja was giddy with excitement. Yes, people had died here not three months ago and it came as a shock to her, since she actually knew some of them at least by sight. It had been a tragedy, and it shook the entire school. But that was actually one of the reasons why the girl signed up to visit Hogwarts for their Fall Ball. She wanted to see this place, once claimed to be the safest in the Wizarding World, now causing foreign students to come back to their families in coffins. It was not the fault of the Scottish school staff, and they should not be blamed; at least that's what Natasha Mikaelovna had told them. Not that the grieving families and the students who lost their friends in the catastrophe would believe her. Tarja herself was unsure; there was a need to investigate, ask some questions, perhaps try and sneak out to Hogsmeade when that explosion had carried off so many young lives.
First things first, however. She had an introduction tour to follow, and a feast to attend. There would be time enough to snoop around and ask questions of the locals in the next two weeks. Once the dizzying carousel of the portkey ceased and they found themselves being greeted by a Nordic-looking white-haired woman (there had been rumours about a tall white-haired lady who was likely behind the attack in summer, but surely it wouldn't be a prominent staff member at Hogwarts?), Tarja Akimovna found herself gazing at a massive castle in the distance. It was bigger than any building she'd seen in her life, and incomparably more imposing than the scattered campus of shacks they had back at Koldovstoretz Academy. All throughout the tour she could barely hold back her glee. Oh, this would be such a wondrous adventure, just like the ones from the old stories about tzars and princesses!
When everyone was more or less settled in their assigned cabins and the feast time approached, Tarja all but skipped towards the castle, excited to see the interior, perhaps meet some ghosts - the place looked like it would have plenty of those - and to make some new acquaintances. The castle turned out to be just as magnificent on the inside as it was on the outside. Tarja fell behind her schoolmates while gawking at the multitude of enchanted paintings; they didn't have nearly as many of those back at their school, and the themes were so varying here. She was just looking at one that depicted a group of red-clad wizards around a table when one of the people in the painting yelled something in heavy Scottish at her, making the girl start and scurry away towards the hubbub of the Great Hall. For all her extroversion and desire to make new friends, the Russian girl was feeling somewhat shy due to the language barrier. She knew English, but only as something she'd learned in an academic environment, not a language she'd ever used to communicate.
"Федя, вот ты где! Fedya, there you are!" she called when she finally located a familiar face. A blonde boy (Cody) was talking to Fyodor at the time, and Tarja fell silent, carefully listening to the English words. The sudden switch to Russian took her off guard, and she laughed happily, unable to believe her ears. A Brit could speak her language, now that was almost more impressive than the whole ancient castle. ''Привет, Коди, приятно познакомиться! Откуда ты знаешь русский язык? Hi Cody, nice to meet you! How did you learn Russian?" she plopped on the bench next to Fedya and started loading food onto her plate without much consideration for which cuisine it was coming from; the sight of so many various dishes made her feel famished. "I apologize to all, my English is not so gud. Zis is first time I speak it outside of school," the girl explained to anyone who may have been listening and disapproving of her foreign speech that blocked so many others from joining a conversation. "My name is Tarja Akimovna, from Koldovstoretz. I was never at Hogwarts before."
Scanning the surroundings, she located another boy from her school that she knew by sight (Octavian) and a wide grin appeared on her face. Gotcha. He belonged to the same study group as her, but the two of them haven't spoken that much, and he seemed to be avoiding interactions, gradually gaining the reputation of a loner. Tarja hadn't gotten a chance to approach him back at home, what with the start of the new school year and the preparations for an international travel; now, however, he would have a hard time evading her company.
''Октавиан Константинович, у тебя есть пара на балу? Я думала, что мы могли бы пойти вместе. Octavian Konstantinovhich, do you have a date for the ball? I was thinking we could go together." Of course, she could have just invited Fedya - the two of them were close enough that there would be little possibility of rejection. But Fedya could get a date on his own - while also on the quiet side, he was by no means shy. And she wanted to get to know this Octavian Konstantinovich better.

You shout out at one person, and suddenly the entire school wants to be their friend. Not only did Kobayasi-san and Shimizu-san seem interested, but the blonde boy seemed to go out of his way to engage with the Russian kids too.
"क्या यार " "Come on, man" the Indian boy muttered, as the blonde took his sweet time to come over. They didn't even seem all that interested to talk to the blonde boy, why did he have to stop and gesture to every. last. person. on the table?
When the blonde boy finally made his way over, he was engaged by the uptight bunch on grading systems. B O R I N G! There was more to life than grades, and pastels and oinks were definitely the most fun to be around. Not that he'd ever expected picture-perfect Shimizu-san to understand much about the concept of fun.
A little bit into the local boy's explanation about Hogwarts and its systems, Aryaan sighed loudly. It was ignored in favour of more questions. About STUDIES. And rankings.
As he continued about professors and detention, the Indian boy could not help but let out a comment: "なんてつまらない会話" "How boring" .
Ohashi-san and Kobayashi-sanseemed genuinely curious about this new and wonderous school, but Shimizu-san was already judging these Brits and their system. But most importantly, none of them were talking about what was clearly the most important thing about Hogwarts!
"Hahaha, yeah. Don't mind us." Aryaan chortled when the Hogwartsian (was that even a term? How did the British students identify themselves anyway?) "Our school is a liiiiiitle teeny tiny minuscule smaller-than-dust bit strict on grades and stuff."
Aryaan stopped here to take a deep breath, before continuing full-steam ahead. "I'm Aryaan, by the way. Aryaan Shamsi. And I was gonna ask about what all best places and best rumors about this school are? This place has to have ghosts and legends and history to it, right?"
The curtains fell. And the silence was deafening
