On the day she was supposed to take the Hogwart express for the first time Schneider had been wondering around in the Diagon Alley to buy her school supplies. Her parents had something to do at the Wizarding bank and told her to go to the Magical Menagerie and get herself a little pet to keep her company.
And here she was, there was an old couple at this shop along with 6 or 7 customers, and the disable girl came to and asked :

-Hum excuse me, Mister, Miss.

The old couple looked at the girl, noticing her disability while walked toward them.

-Hello there ! How may we help you ? Did you come here to get a pet ? The old man asked.

-Yes ! What pets do you have here ? She asked them.

-Oh come here, I will show you what we have for you, what is your name young girl ? the white haired woman asked Hildegard.

-Hildegard Schneider, Miss ? She asked her back.

-You can call me Anita, and this is my husband Ernest, we are the Witticker. She replied smiling.

-Nice to meet you Anita and mister Witticker. The kid said excited to see all the animals the couple had.

-Oh what a polite girl ! You can also call me by my first name, Ernest! He rectified her.

They went to a corner of the shop where they had view on all the type of animal and positioned the disable kid so she could see all the pets of the store.

-As you can see we have : owls, cats, toads, rats, pygmy puffs, lizards, and spiders. Do you have any preference ? The old lady asked.

-Uhm.. The girl letted out undecided.

-What about an owl ? Ernest said to try to help.

-No ! I think they are boring, just cage all day and then when they're out they fly around not really staying by their master's side ! She said, excluding owls from the possible pets.

- It is true that owls are a bit like that, so what about a Pygmy Puff, they are a quite popular choice ! Anita suggested.

-How much is one Hildegard asked.

-20 Galleons the woman replied

-Too expensive ! I did not get that much money to buy a pet ! Schneider thought.

I'm sorry I can't buy one, hum... I want a cat ! Hildegard decided.

-Sure then, Ernest said bringing the girl to the cats part.

She looked at them, one by one until she found one cat that seemed to be curious about the way Hildegard walked, that caught the girl's attention.
She looked at him, he looked at her and it was as if everything connected instantly,

-Hi partner ! Hildegard said.

The cat meowed back, and she looked at the shop keepers.

-I want this one please ! She said smilling.

The old couple smiled back and prepared to give her the cat.

-How will you call him ? Anita asked.

Do you like Walter ? The disable kid asked the cat.

Seeing his positive reaction she replied to the couple :

-His name is Walter !

Here take also this Anita proposed a few sugar cookies to Hildegard.

The German girl thanked the old couple, took the cookie and Walter and left.
