PRIVATE THREAD TO. @Alice Grimmshaw
Quidditch was nothing special to Dianthe, so why she found herself standing on the training pitch was a question that would go unanswered. The breeze was warm and the sun shone pleasantly on the field before her, the rays preventing her from looking straight ahead. Adjusting her hat, Dianthe peered at the empty benches ahead, the consideration to stay and enjoy the still silence slowly creeping across her mind. It definitely couldn't hurt, and besides, finding her way back into the castle wouldn't be much different in terms of excitement. The Slytherin commons, as elegant as they were, had become drab to the new first year. Spending each afternoon there was becoming far too familiar, and familiarity got tiring after a certain point in the eyes of this snake.

Her hand touched the metal bench, the steel cold to the touch as she sat down upon it. There wasn't much to look at, the onlooking scenery of the school breathtaking yet not anything special to her. Dianthe wasn't much for scenery, not one to look out at distant mountains and gush over how beautiful it is. She didn't really understand what people found so fascinating about it, but the thought didn't linger long before she spotted another stranger on the grounds. It was hard to make out who it was, what they were, or even if it was a student or staff. Her cold eyes squinted in hopes to make the vision clearer, where a black robe slowly came into focus. Not just any robe, but one with a red accented collar. A gryffindor, one who seemed to be just as alone as she was. However Dianthe wasn't looking for interaction, and preferred the solitude. What could this girl be out for?

She didn't bother to call out a friendly greeting, the idea of engaging in pointless conversation being unattractive. However the longer minutes passed, the more her curiosity piqued.
"Hey! Yeah, you." It was a bit redundant to specify considering there was no one else but them, though she figured it exuded confidence. "How come you're out here?" The question came off oddly confrontational, and the more she thought about it, exploring a place like the quidditch pitches wasn't a bizarre idea. Yet her convo starters were limited, and really, no one was out here to begin with,

Interacting with @Dianthe Cyrise
It was a beautiful day, so there was absolutely no way Alice was going to spend it cooped up inside the entire time! She just had so much energy from spending most of her days inside during the week, and the quidditch training pitch seemed like the perfect place to burn off some of that energy. When she stepped onto the pitch, she gave herself a moment to take a long, deep breath, letting the crisp air of the scottish highlands fill her lungs. Fresh air and sunshine were extremely important for a girl like her, and they were woefully neglected during her first few weeks at Hogwarts as she rushed from class to class.

After standing there and letting the breeze wash over her face, she took a second to run around to burn off some of the energy she was seemingly always overflowing with, letting the wind whip her unkempt, mahogany colored hair behind her. But the sound of a voice stopped her in her tracks. She adjusted her glasses, grassy green eyes scanning the pitch for the original owner of the voice- ah! Another person, sitting in the benches! She bounded up the bleachers with the same energy she always carried herself with so she could hear this other potential new friend batter, and vice versa, although the other would probably have little trouble hearing Alice from any distance, as she could be quite loud if she so desired- or sometimes if she didn't, she didn't really have the whole "volume control" thing perfected yet, but she was working on it!

"Oh, me? I was just burning off some energy. Its really boring being cooped up inside the castle all the time, so I came out here. I didn't realize there was going to be anyone else out here though, but it's always nice to meet new people! My name is Alice Grimmshaw, I'm a first year Gryffindor! Its very nice to meet you!" Alice seemingly paid no mind to the other's rather clipped tone. She had noticed it, but she didn't really care. Maybe she just talked like that, and that was fine! "What's your name?"
