Samantha's head turned a little red. "I mean- I said I think it is earwax, like I think that is how earwax would taste you know. Like, I am sure you also have an idea how it would taste." Why did Vivian had to be so observant. This was embarrassing! Luckily for the first year, her new friend didn't question her anymore.

"I could learn you Dutch!" The excitement of Samantha was very clear. She would love to teach her new friend something. If you keep knowledge to yourself you might as wel not have it at all. Knowledge was something that needed to be shared, according to Sam. "Well, just some basic things. Like good morning, which is goedemorgen, or how to tell somebody your name."

"A doctor? That's really cool!" Samantha quickly eat the last bit of her salade. "My mom is a teacher, an English teacher. In the Netherlands she taught English in highschool. That's why I am really good in English, well for somebody who grew up in as a non English speaker." If Sam didn't tell that she wasn't a native English speaker. you could easily mistake her for one. She had no Dutch accent, even though if she wanted she could easily fake one.

"And my dad, well-" Samantha moved her empty plate around, "It is complicated what he does, so it is to hard to explain." That was one big excuse, the young girl had no idea what her father did. She had never bothered to ask him. She had avoided talking about his job ever since they had to move to the UK for it. Samantha blamed the big move on her dads job. Because of the job they had to move, so she wasn't interested in talking about it.

Biting her lips, trying not even one inch of her smile to be shown to Sam. Obviously she didn’t want her new friend to be embarrassed but... she did. But would not anymore. Why would Samantha ask if she had any idea about the ear wax taste? That was hilarious but she would just act like the words didn’t reach her ears. Ignoring was something that she’s used to and this is something that could be easily ignored but was funny. “Really! thanks” she exclaimed with her eyes wide. Learning a new language must be fun and she wants to experience it. It was really lovely of Sam to teach Viv a language, but she didn’t know how long it would take for her to completely understand and speak Dutch, but she wouldn’t give up until she’s satisfied with her work. “Okay, I’ll repeat it... goedemorgen” she pronounced it slowly. It didn’t come out perfectly but it was at least a little similar to what Samantha had said.

“It is” she mumbled looking at her empty plate, resting her chin on her hand which was placed upright on the table. Doctor mom was really cool but she is too busy for her daughter. Is doctor a really tough profession? Or is it just her mom who engaged in the work every day, every night? Is that the only tough job or everything is tough? Whatever! The blonde doesn’t have any idea about her ambitions but one thing she is so sure about, she would never become a doctor and would never... marry one. Haha okay, there was still a tremendous amount of time to think about marriage, but she has decided it in her early stage of life about this and is certain about this one thing.

“Teacher is a really nice profession” she smiled as she leaned back on her chair, letting herself out from her thoughts. Complicated job? Well, she didn’t have any idea about it but the ‘complicated’ word is triggering her curiosity but she wouldn’t ask it. She shouldn’t! She shouldn’t annoy her friend but silly questions, that too not about her but her father. “Oh” she jumped to her feet with a sudden realisation. “Time for class! Bye Sam! Meet you later” pulling her back from her seat, she rushed from the great hall. She definitely didn’t want to be late on her first day.

Samantha let out a little giggle after her new friend tried to repeat her. Hearing people who couldn't speak Dutch try it was quite amusing. Vivian actually did a pretty good job for the first time trying to day something in Dutch, but Sam still found it funny. There just were some letters that were pronounced really different in Dutch then in English.

"It is pretty good for you first try! The g sounds is really different in Dutch, I would say it is way more aggressive." Simple things like the pronunciation of a letter made a really big difference. "Well aggressive might not be the best word, but it sounds a bit harsh in comparison to the English g. In English your make the sound in your mouth and in Dutch it is like in your throat." When Samantha realized that it probably sounded really weird to Vivian she added: "It is really hard to explain."

Out of nowhere Vivian jumped out of her seat. Indeed it was time for class! Samantha quickly grabbed her bag. She had to leave now, because other wise she might be to late. If she knew her way to the castle she could have stayed a little longer, but she didn't know where everything was that good. She did have some ideas of the classrooms, but the school was still really new to her.

"Bye Vivian! Have fun in your class and I will see you later, hopefully very soon!" Samantha waved to her new made friend. Vivian seemed really nice and she was easy to talk to. Not that Samantha would ever have a problem talking to anybody, but Vivian just made it even more fun.
