[font=book antique]You walk briskly down the hallway. The path keeps turning in all directions and you feel as if you are back where you started. What if this was a bad idea? No thoughts like that here. You move on, full stop. So you keep walking along the hedges, with your hand on the right hand hedge to make sure you don't get lost. It is getting darker and darker. You look up and see that the hedges have grown to form a kind of ceiling. Forgetting that you are a witch and that magic exists, you continue to walk forward, your right hand on the hedge, the other in front of you. You have to keep going. What will happen to you if you stop? Was that a laugh? If you heard it right, yes. A dull, childish laugh. Another student? Or something else. Your fear of the unknown takes over and you slow down. You can't see anything anymore. Where are you heading? Suddenly your hand touches something. Something flat, hard and cold. A wall. It's not a dead end, is it?! With eyes wide open - even though you know it's useless - you feel the wall with both hands. At first, nothing. But when you crouch down, you feel you can see a darker space. When you put your hands there, you realise that it is a tunnel and again, the little laughter rises. You take a deep breath before entering the tunnel. Now that you are here...[/font]

Northern Route

The freezing water happily greeted Theodore as he plummeted in. The damage was done and the boy was soaked from head to toe with no clear place to get out of the water. But, undeterred, Theodore would begin to swim forward to look for a place to get dry. It would be difficult to breathe in the freezing water but moving forward would at least give Theodore some warmth. But it would not be enough. As the boy rounded the first corner, he might be disappointed to see that the freezing water only continued down the path. To make matters worse, it was raining… It seemed that there was some weather charm cast over the water giving it some nice dark clouds that dumped even more water on the head of Theodore as he swam.

After a few more turns, the boy’s body would start to become numb and sluggish until… Land. There was a patch of mostly dry soil ahead that Theodore would be able to pull himself onto. The clouds above continued to rain on him but at least he would not need to swim. In front of Theodore, the hedges formed a tunnel that was too dark to see what may be within but a sign rested at the top that read ‘Oops…”.

While Theodore was off freezing in the water, Everett decided to take a slightly more cautious approach to the obstacle. Flexing his destructive muscles, the boy would cast Diffindo! With ease the hedges were sliced open by the spell and would allow Everett to squeeze through to the water if he was up for a bit of a swim. But unlike Theodore, Everett would know that the water ahead was exceptionally cold and might not make for the most fun experience. But the choice remained!

Available Directions for Everett: Go forward into the water or turn right

Middle Entrance

In the festering pit of mush, Nicholas was in a bad situation that was only getting worse. With each second, he could feel himself slowly sinking into the pit. It wasn’t very slow but spending too long in the sludge would clearly cause more problems. But even in the terrible situation, Nicholas was keeping a level head to think through the situation. Raising his wand, the boy would cast Lumos to get a better idea about his poor state. The sudden light would enable him to see the sludge that he was sitting in. It appeared to be a plethora of old and rotting fruit but it was still not clear how deep it actually went.

All of the walls of the pit were sheer dirt with only occasionally visible roots. It could perhaps be climbed but it would be a very difficult undertaking. Beyond that, the light might offer a bit of comfort but there were no other immediate clues that Nicholas would see to get out of the pit.

Southern Route

Any sense of calm was entirely lost as the girls both seemed determined to get out of the room before the doll had its chance to play. Aurora in particular seemed to have lost it as the doll continued its slow and ominous approach. As Aurora yelled at the doll, its head seemed to turn and tilted at the girl. While its face remained the same, it would feel as if the doll was suddenly and malevolently smiling back at Aurora. “Mommy? Where are you going? COME AND PLAY!” While the voice started soft and pleading, it ended with a terrifying and deranged shout. The dolls suddenly began moving faster towards the girls.

In a panic, Aurora would try to cast Flipendo but her mind could not focus long enough to get the spell off and the wand would do nothing. “We can play forever mommy,” the doll said. Cassandra had fear and scolded Aurora for taking the cupcake but at least she was keeping her mind working. She might be thinking that they would surely die in the Groundskeeper’s weird maze but stretching out her wand to Aurora, Cassandra would cast the Ascension Spell. Immediately Aurora launched into the air. It would take all of the girl’s strength to grab onto the doorway without falling back down. But Aurora managed it.

The doll was not pleased. It had decided that Aurora was its mommy and now she was trying to leave. While Cassandra tossed the key up to Aurora, the doll quickly ran forward. “Mommy needs to play!” The doll said as it grabbed Cassandra’s ankle. Despite the size of the doll, it was strangely strong and began to pull itself up Cassandra’s body. “You will stay,” the doll said in a low tone. “Mommy will stay too! Forever!”

Aurora was now holding onto the key and trying to stay in the locked doorway but she would see the keyhole that appeared as though it would fit her old key. But there was only one way to find out and the doll was continuing to climb up Cassandra. “We need your face,” the doll said in a faint whisper to Cassandra as it crawled up the girl.

Still in absolute darkness, Lily would decide she would crawl to the right. It seemed even in the darkness she was remaining at least mostly brave. But it remained to be seen how long that would last. As Lily crawled, she would begin to feel as though something was touching her. Lightly at first but then suddenly it would feel like something wrapped around her body and pinned her to the ground. It might feel almost like she was completely bound with rope and unable to move. Her arms remained free but the rest of her body was tied up by something and she would feel herself getting pulled slowly backwards as there was a rustling sound in the hedges around her.

[font=book antique]You go into this tunnel, without any visibility. You have forgotten the very existence of your wand, tucked into your pocket. You blink often, even though you know it's useless. You hate sleeping in total darkness. You hate closing your eyes without knowing what's around you. With your eyes open, you can't see any more. It's psychological. You hold back a scream as you feel something brush against your foot. That's why you prefer to keep your eyes open. But that thing attacked you from behind. It's deceitful. As you don't feel anything, you keep moving, more vigilant than ever. You hear nothing, see nothing and feel nothing. You could be in a vacuum without the walls around you. Suddenly, things grab hold of you and pin you to the ground. You scream. Why did you get yourself into this damn maze? Why didn't you follow Blueberry? Where is she anyway? Don't think about your cat, Lily! We're stuck here. You have to do something! Sure, but what? You gesticulate around trying to grab your wand. You've just remembered that you're in a school. School means class. And Hogwarts means magic. Let's hope this works. Maybe you're too agitated, not calm enough. - If it doesn't work, hope Blueberry is okay and my body will be out of here. I don't want to be a meal for this thing! LUMOS![/font]

Lumos did nothing, there was no illumination as to an escape, merely confirmation as to the futility of the situation. The walls of the pit were as harsh as ever, what few roots that jutted and danced from out of the dirt so far flung and disparate to not even be worth an attempted grasp. There were no secret passageways, no hidden escape routes, merely a hole and the pile of rotting refuse that filled it. On the bright side, he had finally begun to grow accustomed to the stench of the fruit, of course he was also sinking ever so slowly deeper and deeper into the muck, so the silver lining was nearly useless in its ability to cheer him up.

Panic mixed with anger as he desperately turned his vision from looking for an external means of escape to an analysis of his mental mindscape for some kind of solution. It was a puzzle, essentially, that meant there had to be some way to slot the pieces together. There was only one issue with such a reality, Nicholas hated puzzles.

The urge to strike at the wall in frustration was near consuming, hot anger and the need to scream billowed in his boiling core. There was no feasible way out! The god damned maze had thrice cursed him, and for what? To leave him festering and simmering in a disgusting pit? That was a total load of bollocks.

A scream of undiluted wrath ripped from his chest and throat, his composure lost as he raged against his inability to continue, the childish desire to win having consumed him in its entirety. He wasn’t thinking straight, he couldn’t think straight. It was time to throw things against the wall in impotent efforts in hopes of achieving some form of success.

His repertoire of spells was sorely lacking and, thus, so was his ability to get himself out of the situation. He supposed he could have attempted to cast wingardium leviosa on his clothes in an attempt to imitate flight, but the thought was lost on him as he took a much more desperate approach.

Pointing his wand downward, he forced himself to attempt to speak clearly through the anger, “Flipendo.”

The spell had sent him hurtling before, perhaps this time it would send him hurtling up, and from there, perhaps, he could grab onto the side of the pit.

Tuesday August 10th 2021 Late Evening

Although Aurora Flipendo did not work like she attended, at least Cash's Ascension spell work. As Aurora launched to the air, Cash gave their undivided attention to the airborne girl. "Grab it!"They ordered Aurora when the pink purple-haired girl close to the door. Lucky for both of them Aurora managed to hold into it.

Once Cash was sure that Aurora get a great hold on the door, they tossed up the key. "Get us out from this"They told Aurora. In times like this Cash's mind betrayed them. In the back of their mind, a small voice said that Aurora will leave them in the dust and save herself but Cash need to trust her not to do that.

Hopefully, Aurora did not betray their trust. Since green eyes so focus to bring themselves and Aurora out from this pit of hell, they did not realize that the cursed doll grabbed their ankle until Cash feels pressure around their ankle. Cash looked down and it was a mistake that they did. “Mommy needs to play!”The doll said to Cash.

"No, I do not"Cash replied back to the doll. It seems the doll did not take no for an answer as it started to climb up to the green eyes' body. "What the actual fuck? Get off me you crazy doll!"They commanded as Cash tried to shake the doll from climbing up all over their body. "You will stay,” the doll said in a low tone.

“Mommy will stay too! Forever!”The creepy doll expressed. At this point, Cash was not sure who the doll referred to as its Mommy. Is it Aurora or themselves? The only thing that Cash is sure of, they need to get out of this maze alive and fast. "RORY!"They growled out. At this point, Cash did not care if Aurora felt special that they gave the other Quidditch player a nickname.

She probably would but that is beside the point, Cash thought to themselves. But desperate times called for desperate measure. "Bring us out from this hell hole,"They said to Aurora. "You are up there and you got the key. Just try unlocking those darn door. If you manage to do that, do not you dare to leave me behind!"They threaten Aurora politely.

"If you dare leave me behind and I died in this pit of creepiness, I will haunt you for the rest of your sorry arse life" They continued. "Also I swear to whatever unholy; if you leave me behind, I will kill you"Cash expressed their frustration. Just like a mere moment ago, Cash was so focused on the tasked at hand that they forgot about the creepy doll that terrorized both Cash and Aurora.

“We need your face,” the doll said in a faint whisper to Cassandra as it crawled up the girl. After that Cash let out a blood curling scream. They screamed out like a psychopath about to murder them. "F-fa-face?"Cash rarely stuttered out but the doll gave them a major eerie vibe. The gear in their brain starts turning. Maybe the insane wisest way is to listen to what the doll wanted.

Cash then averted their eyes from the creepy doll that now rests too close for their comfort and looked up to Aurora. "Please hurry!"They said to Aurora. Then they turned their attention back to the doll again. "We? Who are we? What do you mean by that?"The young Ironwoods enquire the doll. "Also what will you do with my face if you guys have it?"They asked the doll.

Cash was not sure who the doll referred to as 'we' and maybe they started losing their sanity by having a conversation with the doll but maybe if Cash talked to the doll, the doll might slipped out a clue or two. And maybe Cash could found a loophole from the whole conversation so that both Aurora and Cash could come out from this whole nightmare alive.

Choices... Choices, choices, choices.

His friend was up ahead, possibly freezing to death. Though, surely the staff of Hogwarts wouldn't let the students freeze under their watch, right? He had heard some stories about Hogwarts that had painted a sad tale. What mattered was treating this as if the worst could happen. Theo had already been dragged by his legs, and he took the literal plunge into the water. He wouldn't let him face this alone either.

"Theo! Uh, hold on I'm coming!" The boy literally got cold feet, he tried to jump in but his feet were stuck to the ground. "Why did I sign up for this..." He took a deep breath and took a step back before jumping straight in. The icy waters seemed to directly hit his bones. Making his entire body feel like an ice block. He forced his arms to start moving, his legs to start kicking. He was going to do this for Theo.

Memories of warm days at the beach with his family surfaced. Emotionally he was warmed, but physically his body was frigid. He desperately wanted to be back in warm Georgian waters. But noooo, he had to be in Scotland. His teeth chattered desperately, he needed to pull himself together before hopefully finding Theo, he needed to appear strong for once in this dreaded maze.

Thankyou for Cassandra's awesome spell, she managed to escape from the creepy creature. Or so she thought. A key in her hand, a door in front of her. But her focus was glued to the doll that went psycho. The sign up sheet did not mention anything about a cursed doll that is searching for its lost mom. Once she is able to get out from the maze alive, the groundskeeper needs to prepare himself for an endless lawsuit running towards him. Did Hogwarts not give him enough tasks to do? Not enough salary? What possibly drives the keeper of the ground to put these innocent students into a monster’s den? Say goodbye to the beautiful life before the wizarding world came in. Homeworks used to be her worst nightmare, now her alleged daughter sued her for child neglect. “WE ARE GOING TO DIE! I DON’T WANT TO DIE IN MY OWN PISS! I WANT TO TAKE A SHOWER FIRST!” Said the girl who brushed her teeth with a toilet brush once. How dare she talk about sanitation?

That poor Slytherin. Such a badass in quidditch pitch, give them a doll, now they are a wimp. Not that anyone would blame them, of course. Aurora, on the other hand, handled the situation worse than anyone could imagine. It was totally her fault for taking the cupcake. Trapped in the chamber forever without ever knowing her true love. Fear made the two students act irrationally. Who would think a death threat could help the Ravenclaw use her extraordinary brain? Most of the time her head did not function properly, imagine her in this situation. “HOW ARE YOU GOING TO KILL ME IF YOU AND I ARE DEAD? I CAN’T DIE TWICE, CAN I?” Her entire body was shaking, she didn’t blink even once, too fixated on the doll’s attempt to climb on Cash’s leg. Crying won’t help her in this situation, but that was all she could do. She took a mental note to add the person who was responsible to this on her number one hate list. Beware. “I SWEAR THAT GROUNDSKEEPER WANTS TO USE OUR FACES AS HIS MASK COLLECTION! IF I DIE, I WILL KICK HIS BUTT AND SCREAM ON HIS EAR EVERY SECOND!”

It turned out, the threat was able to nudge her brain. Finally, after what seemed like hours crying, shaking, and screaming, she tried to put the key on the door and unlock it. “YOU STUPID KEY! PLEASE WORK PLEASE! I DON’T WANT TO DIE UGLY!”

With each second, the boy was continuing to sink deeper into the pit. The rotten and festering fruit threatened to consume him while there was no clear way out of the pit. Panic was beginning to creep over Nicholas but the boy still had some fight left in him. He might not have known the perfect spell for the situation but he would make do with what he had. Drawing his wand, Nicholas would point the wand down and cast Flipendo.

Nicholas was likely hoping that the force would launch him up and out of the pit. The spell was perfectly cast but that was not the result...The force of the perfect spell erupted down and into the rotten fruit. The fruit is what was launched into the air and out of the pit. Like a massive geyser, the fruit exploded out of the pit and careened up into the maze and chambers above. The festering goop coated the walls and oozed over the previously clean hedges. Some of the eviscerated fruit would unfortunately spray Nicholas across the face but it was a small price to pay. With most of the fruit blasted out of the hole, Nicholas would fall several feet before landing on some particularly stinky mud.

But without the fruit, Nicholas would see a little doorway that had previously been hidden by the rotting fruit. Even though he was deeper in the pit, he just may have found his way out.

Available Directions: Go through the Hidden Doorway or Hang out in the stink pit

While Aurora was taking her sweet time with the key, Cash had a terrifying situation that only seemed to be getting worse. The cursed doll was continuing to work its way up the girl and showed no signs of backing off. At this point any calm that Cash had seemed to have been utterly obliterated. Perhaps understandably…

She continued to plead with Aurora to hurry up while making threats about being left behind. It seemed that no one wanted to stay behind forever with Eliseo’s terrifying creation. “We need your face,” the doll repeated in a whisper. The blood curdling scream only seemed to make the doll more urgent. But even terrified, Cassandra began looking for a new solution. For some way to make it out.

All the while, Aurora continued to lose her mind and sanity as the doll had begun climbing up her companion in an attempt to claim Cash’s face, whatever that meant. Shaking, Aurora was able to force the key into its slot and turned the key. There was an audible click as the door unlocked and began to swing open.

The doll paused suddenly at Cash’s questions as if thinking of how to reply. “We…Need your face...Sister needs a face so we can play!” the doll’s voice was suddenly filled with a twisted level of excitement and the doll began slowly reaching up as Cash’s face while still trying to climb.

Sister...The girls might have wondered what the doll meant by sister. But Aurora would not have to wait long. As the small door swung open, there was another porcelain doll standing in the doorway. It wore a matching outfit to the doll on Cash but this doll had no face. As it silently stretched its arms towards Aurora, the faceless doll would begin slowly walking towards the girl. Behind the faceless doll there did appear to be the continuation of the maze and a path that would take them deeper.

“Sister wants to play too,” the first doll said before repeating…”We need your face…”

Available Directions: Aurora can go through the doorway with the second doll and back into the maze. Cassandra is still in the chamber with the first doll.

Lily was able to keep a relative calm in the darkness. Even when she could feel something grabbing hold of her, she was able to get her wand ready. The darkness made it impossible to see what her situation was. She knew she was being pulled but nothing beyond that. Lily would be able to quickly cast Lumos, giving her some much needed light.

If she looked back, she would be able to see that vines had tightly wrapped themselves around her body and were pulling her in the direction she had come from. What used to be the tunnel was now a moving wall of tentacle-like vines all reaching out to grab Lily. It wasn’t clear where they would drag her but she would be able to see that there were more vines and roots coming for her.

[font=book antique]You feel a huge relief when you see your wand light up. Relief that turns to horror as you see what is blocking you. Vines coming from behind you. Very thick and numerous vines. You look forward so that you can no longer see the vines but you realise that the tunnel has become a tunnel of vines. You scream as you realise that these vines are pulling you somewhere. Lily. Don't panic. You have no right to panic. I am allowed to panic because I can't do anything but talk to you. But you can do something. Think about it. I know you know what this plant is. You take deep breaths. Yes, you should know what this plant is. You like Herbology. You should be able to recognize it. You are panicked, but sometimes panic helps you focus. It's weird but sometimes it's true. A plant with vines... There's a lot of those. But big vines like this? Like this colour? That seem to like the dark? You only know of one plant that fits all that. And it hates something you can create. - Fire. It is a Devil's Snare So it doesn't like heat and light. I love Herbology! Incendio! You aimed at the bottom of the tunnel. Behind your feet, where the vines come from. You hope that the plant will curl up so that you can free yourself and crawl as fast as possible towards a possible exit.[/font]

This was an absolutely hellish decision. He should've just left Theo, but to him that would've been the worst decision. Rain only made the cold chilling his skin worse. His teeth chattered, his chest attempted to heave air into his lungs to continue pushing on. Who knows if he could even turn back. There was no point in thinking about turning back. As he rounded the first corner his heart dropped as he only saw more water. Come to think of it, he hadn't heard Theo yell back or anything. There was no signal from Theo to know if he was even ok. What if he had drowned or been pulled in by the shrubbery? The fear seemed to continue to propel him further as his own will to keep going dwindled.

Eventually he saw land, and Theo standing on it. Well! All that worry was for nothing. The guy couldn't even say anything to let Rett know he was ok? As he pulled himself out from the water he gave Theo a gentle smack on the back. "Don't worry Rett I'm fine. Come on over! Nothing bro?" He sighed, trying to force air back into his lungs from their struggle to breathe in the ice cold water that froze him to his core. "I'm not going back in that water, lets go. I'm glad you're ok."
