Making the girl laugh and getting her name which is Seren, Rachel was happy for putting a name to an unknown face. Glad, she made another friend and much better since its not her own house. Its not like she doesn't want to meet other Gryffindors, in fact she'll be happy to know more, but she'd like to know more about other students from other houses and learn more about them. Student and house wise. Clearing her throat for a do over of her introduction, she said, "Nice to meet you Seren! I am Rachel Davis, First year Gryffindor!" Perhaps Rachel's introduction of herself was getting a bit too old now and is not that creative.

Rachel needs to think of another creative way on introducing her to other students. But for now, she'll settle on her basic intro of her name, house and year. Snapping out of her thoughts, she looked at Seren. "Its alright! I know you weren't trying to be rude! I sometimes get too distracted and forget to introduce myself too. So its no harm!"

"By the way, how are you? Has Hogwarts been treating you good?" Rachel, personally, liked it. Being surrounded by new faces, and making all sorts of relationship. She was happy and contented. Being an only child isn't really that fun. She wonders, does Seren have siblings? She'll have to ask her later.

"Rachel..." She quietly murmured the name under her breath a few times, in a way that was pretty clearly an attempt to fix name and face together. She then smiled and said "Sorry, I can be forgetful with names, sometimes, but I've found if I repeat the name a few times, it helps me to remember. And it's truly nice to meet you as well."

A Gryffindor friend! That was wonderful, she wanted to try to get to know students from as many Houses as possible. She WAS a touch nervous about Slytherin, because of her parents, but she kind of hoped getting to know some Slytherins might help with that, might help her dispel her notion that Slytherin House was all bad people, who liked to hurt others. So far, her experience with them was limited... One of the people who had been in the boat she was in on the first night had been sorted Slytherin, as had his friend who fell in the water, and maybe the girl who pushed him in?

She was VERY glad the other girl understood about getting focused and distracted, because it made it easier for Seren to get passed her own upset.

"I... Am ok? Adjusting, it's very different from my life before. I rarely went out much, and was never surrounded by as many people as are here before... The closest that I have ever come to was when I first went into Diagon Alley, as a child, with my Grandmama. But I think I like it... It's not so lonely." She brushed a finger along her braid, eyes thoughtful, and then turned back to Rachel. "What about you?"

"I completely understand the rarely went out and surrounded by many bit! I've made some friends here and there and isn't as lonely as I was back then before Hogwarts so I love it here! But classes may or may not have fried my brain too much." Rachel said sweat dropping. Its true though. The first and last thing that she said. She was lonely and her brain is broken because of classes and homeworks. Looking up at the sky, she was watching the clouds. "You know, I may be a pure blood but I do know a thing or two about the muggle world since I did kinda grew up there."

She said, smiling. Honestly, her parents weren't one of those types of pure bloods. So they would often have muggle neighbors into their homes and Rachel sleeping over to her muggle friends house. So she is pretty much knowledgable with them but she was still isolated since half of her life she'll be living in the wizarding world and sometimes on the muggle world. "They have those things such as televisions and phones! Phones are those wireless telephones but you can play in them. 'Online games' and stuff like that. And you can watch movies on t.v's! They also can take photographs in their phones but they can't really move it."

Rachel babbled on and she can't really tell if Seren was sick of listening to Rachel's nonsense or she was interested on those muggle technologies. But taking a time to breath and make sure Seren wasn't about to shut Rachel's mouth up, Rachel turned to Seren and smiled. "Sooooo, what do you want to know about the muggle world?"

"Yes, making friends has been a wonderful thing. I'd always wanted to have friends before. Even if meeting in an overturning boat is a slightly strange way to make friends, I am glad to have made some on my way in." Even if THAT experience had been a little nightmarish for the poor girl, who still did not know how to swim. She hoped to learn at some point, but she just did not know where to go to do that. It was a rather scary thought, honestly.

At least the boats were only for the first year, but if something else happened, who knew...

She refocused on the words Rachel was saying, her eyes showing her curiosity. "I have heard of some of these things, and it truly amazes me, the things our Muggle kin have come up with to make up for the fact that they do not have magic. Even cars are the most amazing of devices, if you ask me! It is a true pity they can not use Floo powder, or Apparate, but they are so good at figuring out their own alternatives. I've seen their aero-planes fly by overhead, sometimes, when at home and those are just... How could such a thing stay in the air without magic? I can't even imagine, and yet they have done it!"

She listened to the other girl's chatter, a small smile on her face. She was used to being talked at, but to have it be someone who was friendly and wanting to share information, instead of talking down to her and insulting her? It was truly a refreshing delight.

"What do I want to know? So many things! How does their history address the time before the Statute, what they do for fun, and how do they heal each other? How do their devices work, and more. I just... Their world is so similar to ours, and yet so very different!"

"I know right? Their quite... Interesting and unique but I think using floo powder or just apparating can save them some time. You know, those airplanes cost a fortune! They have to pay to use it to go to different locations! But it is a wonder on how they can create those contraptions and make them stay on the air!" Rachels calculation on how much a ticket to the airplanes cost may be a little off but for her, it cost much! Rachel was both relieved and happy that Seren was interested and fine with whatever words come out of Rachel's mouth.

"I think I remember going to a muggles hospital and if you are sick, they make you drink something. There is a 50% chance it'll taste good or not. Oh and they use xrays to see your bones!" Rachel on the inside, was deeply scared of her own memories. She's a little traumatized about the hospital.

She then proceeded on explaining about how their devices work and other more. And then she got to her favorite part. "I don't know much but I heard they have different hobbies similar to us! But the thing that I find most interesting is knitting! By hand! And some DIY and muggle chess! If you'd like, we could try out some of those stuff together. Like a competition!" Rachel smiled cheekily.

For a child who lived half of her life in the wizarding world and the other half in the muggle world, she surprisingly knows much about both worlds.
