[font=Monotype Corsiva]As Enzo stepped into his new spot he figured that now was a better time than any to straighten himself out since currently no spells were being flung at him. He fixed up his collar and cuffs, then ran his ran through his hair to get it out of his face. All the back and forth had caused a bigger disturbance in his attire than he had anticipated. However, there was no rest for the wicked as mere seconds later he became distracted by his queen's spell backfiring again. He pursed his lips together and a small sigh escaped him before he turned back towards their opponents. Once again, as long as such mistakes wouldn't cost them the game, he could move on.

Chess Combat (Match 3)
Sorry for the terrible post, this week has given me no free time!
The girl directly across from Piper wasted no opportunity in firing what would have been a devastating Incendio Duo if Piper hadn't dodged it. Piper hopped to the side and the spell was a near miss, whizzing by her ear. Thankfully, Opeila shielded her from the quickly-moving girl. The opposing queen backfired her own spell. If Piper hadn't been in such a bad predicament, she would have laughed. That queen would take herself out all on her own with her spell backfires. The Slytherin ignored the fact that her own spells hadn't gone so well either. Brute Boy also seemed to have eyes on her, and Piper surveyed the board, shifting uneasily. An uncomfortable amount of people was targeting her.Doing as strategized

To say that the Slytherins continued to be dealt an incredibly bad hand would be an understatement.
They had conquered the Hogwarts school year in what seemed to be a complete sweep of the houses, but for some reason they just couldn't snag a win for this game. Not every game could be won, but that didn't make staring down the face of a loss feel any better. It was a feeling Willow could heavily relate to. Piper made an easy sidestep to A3, while the rest of the team stayed in place. Well, as much as they could. See, Enzo and Yefim had it out for Starlee for whatever reason, the girl was already looking worse for wear but apparently they couldn't take any chances. Her own spell towards Yefim missed, and she was struck not once but twice with the Knockback Jinx rendering her unconscious. Though Willow was small her voice boomed through the duel. "Stop the duel! Starlee is unconscious." She quickly ran down to help get her off the stage to be taken to the Hospital Wing and quickly returned to her spot.
"Annnnd go! Again!" Well, she tried her best to be professional. Opeila tried to attack Roberta and succeeded! Lighting the girl powerfully aflame, just as she seemed to sneeze her last sneeze for the time being. The cold she was desperately fighting ending earlier than planned. Sadly, her plan to cast at Opeila failed as the young snake easily dodged the spell. But! At least she wasn't alone in her failure as Greta's spell was dodged as well. Hanako kept the bad luck going as his wand backfired and set himself aflame. It was always especially painful when your own wand forsake you.

Chess Combat (Match 3)
Intent on his own goal, Yefim and his pal Enzo destroyed the last legs blondie was standing on. While their queen was not looking her best, actually taking a hit from the enemy for the first time, Yefim was not too worried. She was not going to fall so easily, not to such a fractured, desperate team.
Ever since he stood in front of the loud talker, his streak of casting somewhat well had ended. Now, he was catching himself on fire, which should have given Yefim a great laugh, but it was too late for that now. He had been counting the rounds, and knew there were only a few left. He had wanted to end it quickly, and they likely could have if everything went perfectly, but he didn't deal in perfection. He dealt with getting it done, until there was nothing left.

Chess Combat (Match 3)

It wasn't going well, it really wasn't going well, but at least they had made it out of their corner. That had been a problem in the last minute. The third year raised her wand, focusing on one of her opponents and- Willow's voice made her stop. Confused she turned around to see Starlee lying on the ground. Darn.
Pressing her lips together, she didn't wait a second when Willow gave them green light and shot an Incendio Duo- which hit their queen. A bit surprised she looked at the french girl having to deal with being on fire, but quickly caught herself again, when mentioned girl casted a spell at her as well. Opeila jumped out of the way, only to duck as the other girl did the same. She couldn't resist to send Greta a light smile. See, I can do this just as easily as you.

Chess Combat (Match 3)

Hanako had made a file in his brain named ‘ Rockies ‘. In that file, there will be people who take no crap and will choose the best option of speech when interacting with Hana. Which is to not speak at all. Now, while that may have been frustrating for a long time, Hana had learned to cope with it. In fact, it became a joy to be around the Rockies. With their never-changing facial expressions and (quite hurtful) silent speech, they’re basically a good practice. Hana must always keep his annoyingness sharpened from time to time after all. The quality of a new knife will never be compared to one that’s regularly sharpened.
He had not kept enough knives to confirm that analogy, it sounded cool anyway so he’ll keep it that way in his head. Upon grouping the guy in front of him with the rest of the Rockies, Hana started to count with his fingers, muttering names along. “ Alright, so there’s..Wyatt...Kath...I guess.. Tinkie winkie... [cassandra], that old geezer I met in the convenience store once…ah, Rockie#5 Yefim then. Pleasure to meet you~”. His nicknames were getting less and less creative as the game went on. Perhaps the fact that it was almost the 15th round really did take a toll on his creativity. Dang. Rip ‘Rockie#5’s possibly better nickname’.
Rockie#5 decided to speak in a language Hanako once again was not familiar with. So he can only assume he’s saying something like, ‘ oh my goooodd this kid in front of me is so hoott’. To which Hana understands perfectly. It’s hard to find such a cutie during a dueling chess match. What's his current competition? Frowning, sweating, almost fainting, nausea-induced kids.
Correction! Frowning, sweating, and nausea-induced kids. Upon seeing Starlee being taken out of the game, Hanako made a quick glance to the stands where he thought that purple Teletubby cassandra might be. They might get annoyed that Starlee got taken out and not Hana. Their favoritism wasn’t subtle after all. Oddly enough, Hanako felt affected by the loss. 2 teammates down was not thrilling. Their chances of winning had taken a great fall, but he refused to show disappointment. He was the hottest of them all. To have this face show concern would affect team spirit.
What he could express disappointment at was his ridiculous spell backfire. What? Giving Rockie#5 was too much but flipping someone with low hp was okay? Curse the unfairness of this world. “Wanda I thought we had something. Why the painful betrayal>_>” he muttered to himself through gritted teeth probably like a crazy person, trying to pretend his clothes weren't on literal fire. He wasn’t doing a very good job. How embarrassing.

The arrival of the raven-haired Hogwarts girl into Greta's line of fire was a distracting one. Largely, this was because her presence meant the annoying arrival of a barrier before the most desirable target on the board. The opponent's queen languished aggravatingly close to Greta, just on the other side of this girl whose figure made a better door than window. Greta's team was this close to defeating that queen and claiming victory, but the rounds were ticking by like grains of sand that spilled faster from the hand that most earnestly tried to hold them. With but a few rounds remaining, every moment was significant; and this girl was stealing precious opportunities.
That, alone, was enough to support the want to see her toppling to the ground in a heap. But it went beyond that. This girl had attempted time and again to cast at Greta. Most of the spells had cast successfully, but not one had actually landed. Still, the intent had been unmistakable, and the dip in morale a bitter hint upon the air as it crested the heat of battle. What better way to squash what little energy they might have had remaining than to turn around and show them how it was done? As Greta cast, she intended to do just that.
Unfortunately, she had underestimated the girl. More nibble than might have been given credit, the girl dodged not only Greta's attack, but also Roberta's. Practically hissing with frustration, cheeks tinged pink with embarrassment at her inability to seal the shadowed fate, Greta watched with great disdain as the queen continued her movement out of her own file of attack. She'd just have to carry on with the strategy.

Chess Combat (Match 3)
This was it. Starlee's last chance to do something, anything, that wasn't just be a flesh shield for Piper, who of course she despised. She knew both boys would be taking aim at her, she just hoped that before she was completely knocked out that she would at least manage to hit them.
Alas, it wasn't meant to be. Starlee's terrible aim remained true as she watched the Durmstrang boy manage to dodge her spell despite being quite the large target. Right after that, she saw two spells hurtling at her and she knew this was the end. She didn't have the energy to fight back or to dodge anymore. Perhaps that was having an impact on her aim as well, but she tried to brace herself from the pain. Both Flipendo's made clear contact with her, sending her straight back onto her back.
Her vision blurred as she fell and she tried to keep hold of reality. Her thoughts rushed back to when Henry had tried to coach her on her aim last year. Had she managed to forget all his tricks already? Maybe it was even performance anxiety? Whatever it was, Starlee hated it. She also hated falling unconscious in front of Cash, again. Sure Cash was always there to support Starlee in her duels, even when they didn't really care for the sport, but she wanted to make Cash proud, just like how she was proud of them during their quidditch matches.
She tried to keep her eyes open, but she was loosing, her eyes fighting with her mind harder and harder to stay closed, her vision completely out of focus. She could hear the muffled voice of Willow, saying who knew what - certainly it wasn't important right now. Her mind had decided to take her back down into the bottom of the well that she had fallen down last year. Her eyes finally closed shut. She was trapped in the darkness and what felt like miles and miles away from everyone. Alone. Well, not completely alone, but alone enough. Before she was finally retrieved from the platform, her mind finally lost the battle to remain awake, and unconsciousness swelled over her.

[font=Monotype Corsiva]Alas, another one of their enemies had fallen. With a quick flick of their wands, both Yefim and Enzo had taken the blondie down for good. Enzo’s eyes trailed the girl as she sunk to the floor, though not even a drop of remorse could be spotted in the depths of the blue orbs. Everyone knew that getting knocked out was prone to happen in these games.
He then lowered his wand on the command of the moderator and watched as the girl was escorted away from the match.
One worm at a time they were nearing the oh-so sought after win. Nothing could stop them now.

It was moments like this that would stand as proof to her resilience. She was learning the hard way that tenacity in the face of peril was exactly what it took to duel. If she stopped to pity herself, even for a moment, as the flames took away her breath then she would be forced to admit she wished she were anyone but herself. A miserable flaming heap of snot.
