Afternoon
Cloudy, Chilly
To say that Marla was absolutely worked to the bone was an understatement. At least, in her eccentric, lazy mind. The poor girl felt her classes were making her brain smooth as a freshly paved road instead of her actually learning anything of substance. All she wanted to do was plop down in her favorite chair in the coziest corner of the library and disappear for an hour or two in a book. Of course, there was work to be done... But Marla would be damned if she did one more thing today that would further her education. She recoiled in disgust at the thought of it, shaking her head to clear it of anything relating to grinding up some mythical creature's toenails. And so, she discarded her pile of homework on her disheveled, unmade bed and booked it, no pun intended, to the library.
The smell of old paper and the occasional crisp page-turning making its way to Marla's ears had informed her that she'd finally arrived at the only labyrinth of knowledge she'd tolerate today. Cupping a warm mug of tea she'd gotten on the way, the redhead immediately began to scan her eyes across the many shelves to find something that'd happen to pique her interest. Sure enough, there was one title that caught her eye, and she plopped down on the nearest cushiony seat to begin her purification from school as soon as possible.
It was a bit inconvenient to read with a piping hot cup of tea in one hand and maneuvering the other to turn the page and balance the book on her thigh simultaneously... But that's what she gets for sneaking beverages into the library. Marla took a quick break from her book to sip her peppermint tea cautiously. To no avail of course, since she ended up burning her tastebuds right off anyway, but it was too good to resist temptation. So, she came up with a solution to slurp it as quietly as possible to cool it off and drink it at the same time. Sighing, Marla snuggled up in the chair and let all her struggles melt away, failing to notice her nearby underclassman glaring daggers at her. She was wrapped in her own little world, after all. If anything, the student would probably just quietly relocate themselves, as vexed as they might be. Maybe. Hopefully.
Either way, she was about to find out.
"your loss, baby !!"
