Colina picks her head up from the desk as the professor finally signals the end of class. Learning spells and stuff is super fun as a concept. The problem is, half the time she's learning about the theories of spellcasting and different types of magical items and creatures rather than doing the actual fun part. It didn't help that she was just coming off a weekend.

Colina quickly gets up and leaves the classroom, sighing heavily as she rubs her face. Apparently, the professors decided that enough time has passed for them to take it easy on the homework. She's going to have to sit in her dorm room for several hours doing it, basically until dinner starts and maybe after that if she's really unlucky.

Knowing that, Colina knew she just had to take a breather before getting to work. She walked through the halls, looking at the faces that were slowly starting to become more familiar to her. Naturally, it was weird to go to a new school, seeing a bunch of stranger's faces in the halls rather than the kids that she was classmates with for years.

Colina pushed through the doors to the courtyard as she breathed in the fall breeze of the Highlands. The Scottish mountains and forests were the only thing in this school that reminded her of home. These were practically the same trees in the backyard of her house, the same mountains that she looked at every day when she was playing in her school courtyard.

As she walked around the courtyard slowly, Colina closes her eyes as she quietly breathes in the memories of her young childhood. Suddenly, she feels something collide with her and she's on the ground. She rubs the back of her head as she sits up, not bothering to look at the person she bumped into. "What the hell was that, mate?" she grumbled.

Ashton had a bad start on his day and its getting worse. It seems like he woke on the wrong side of his bed. As his day escalates, he got thrown a bunch of homework, got into an argument with his partner in class which resulted in him failing, got splashed or more like soaked by water, ripped his outfit, and was in a rush to his dorm. But now to make the matter even more worse, he just had to bump into something or someone.
"What the hell was that, mate?" A voice of a girl that he presumably bumped into said. "I could ask the same thing!" Ashton glared at the girl. He was in a rush so he didn't noticed the girl but she should have noticed him!
Dusting himself, he noticed that the girl is also Scottish. Or sounds like one. Great. Ashton wasn't exactly nice but he wouldn't just reply with mean comments to a stranger but the girl was rude and testing his patience.
But maybe she was not trying to be rude. Maybe he was so done and wanting to get over with his day that everything and everyone was irritating him. And that's darn right.

Maybe it was the ringing in her ears from just being knocked down. Maybe it was because today really stressed her out, but Colina was more pissed off about being knocked down than any average person should be. She was just trying to calm down after an aggravating day, but no, this kid had to not be looking where he was going and bumped into her.

Colina stood up and brushed herself off, glaring at the boy in front of her. She snapped right back at him, " 'm sorry but ye ran into me, not the other way around. Ye should've been watchin' where ye were going." She hated the audacity of this guy who bumped into her and expected her to be sorry. Yet, he was angry at her for some reason. She had the right to be mad at him.

The boy in front of Colina looked pretty beat up considering they had just gotten out of class. She didn't think there was much of a chance to have a damp or beat-up robe during a regular school day. She attributed that to clumsiness, which angered her even more that he was getting upset. If he had a tendency to fall and bump into things, shouldn't he expect to bump into other people? " 'n' how come yer so upset? Lookin' at yer robes, it seems like a common thing fur ye to slam into things."

Ashton was completely irritated by the girl. What did he do to deserve this luck and meeting an annoying person. Honestly though, he won't even be surprised if he ended up making enemies in every single house. Glaring more harder at the girl, if it's possible, he looked at her directly in her eyes.
"Gryffindor aye? Explains the idiotically high pride. And does sticking your nose into someone else's business that doesn't even concern you, your hobby? Or it's just another trait by you lions?" He said rolling his eyes. And how dare she assume things without even knowing his full story and just assuming that he's clumsy. He doesn't have any problem with Gryffindors. In fact he'd like to meet different students in different houses.
And found the rivalry between him and her house was so foolish. Was it a tradition there for Slytherin and Gryffindor students to be enemies? If so, he'll gladly make her an enemy. "Listen lass, you got eyes don't you? And a brain? It's kinda common sense to move out of the way when people are in a rush right?" At this point, he was taunting her. And it looks like it was working since the girl looks like she was about to punch him.

Colina wasn't one for house pride, but if this boy was going to bring it into the conversation, she wasn't about to not defend her house. "Uh aye, I am prideful, which I know must be hard fur ye to see because yer clearly very insecure," Colina said with a sneer.

She looks at his robe and notices he's a Slytherin. Figures she continues the traditional house rivalry, " 'n' a Slytherin? Well, that explains a lot. Not smart enough to actually come up with any good insults so ye just try to make people feel bad about themselves." She didn't have any problems with Slytherins, but she would say anything if it meant she won an argument.

Colina was pissed off that this guy had the gull to essentially call her an idiot. To be fair, Colina did have her eyes closed when he knocked into her, but that doesn't matter to her. If a person insults her intelligence, especially a stranger, that is taking it a step too far regardless of what she did to them.

At this point, Colina could tell by his accent that the boy was a Scot like her. Well, if he grew up in a town that was anything like her's, this argument wouldn't be ending with an apology or anything, it would be ending with someone getting punched. "I do have eyes 'n' they see that yer an eejit. 'n' I have enough o' a brain to know there's not a reason fur ye to be rushing around when the sun's still out 'n' classes are over." He looked like a First Year, like her, so what would he even be rushing to?

Ashton laughed even though there was nothing humorous going on right now. "Insecure? Me? Never. But it is good seeing and hearing you embrace your flaws so keep doing that alright?" He won't admit it but he was close on accepting defeat so that he can go and change out of his damn clothes. But he wasn't the type to quit easily. And he likes the satisfaction of winning an argument which is the only thing that fuels him up to continue staying in the other girls presence. As if Ashton didn't saw that coming, which he did saw, the girl then shot a house insult. "Wow, gee, so original. But you did got the answer correct so you deserve a chocolate frog for that." Note the dripping hint of sarcasm.
Rolling his eyes out that he can actually feel a vein disconnecting, Ashton stepped menacingly close to the girl to intimidate her, he was a bit taller so he got an advantage. Leaving about enough space so that you can shove each other. Eejit? Really? It was been a long time since he last heard that word. He mostly uses and hears the word idiot. But right now wasn't the time to reminisce.
"Look missy, like I said, its none of your business. And your closed mind wouldn't even grasp it so what's the point? Wasting both of our time more?" Ashton then thought of a plan. Not to apologize to the girl for but to make her hate him even more. And for that, he needed a partner. He smirked.

Colina rolls her eyes, this guy was definitely something else. He honestly thought he was the better person in this fight. If they were clashing, taking the high road was stupid. In her opinion, you should aim wherever might be a weak spot. "Says the guy who made the house insult in the first place," Colina says in a mocking tone, "At least mine was well aimed."

Colina cocks an eyebrow at the boy as he approaches her. Was he honestly trying to intimidate her? Yea, he was tall compared to her, but so were most people. "Mr. manly man over 'ere, huh? Think yer sooo tough," Colina said with a sneer. Being one of the shortest kids in the school she attended in Braemar, she had to learn to be pretty scrappy in a fight. Plus, she didn't think that he had the guts to start a physical fight with her.

Somehow, the boy standing in front of Colina had hit a nerve. In general, she disliked nicknames but she particularly abhorred people who mocked her with names like "girly", "doll", or "missy". She shoved the boy as she snapped at him, "Don't call me 'missy', ye lil' hackit goon!" This was likely exactly the reaction he wanted from her, but she didn't care. He had the audacity to pretend he was all high and mighty in this argument yet he stoops down enough to mock her.

Getting shoved back, he was both surprised and smug. He was satisfied because he accomplished what he was aiming for or got the girl to snap and surprised by how strong she was compared to her height. Looking left and right, he was trying to see if there are any professors near by. He was not the one to hit a girl first. He'll only strike after the other did to seem like he was only doing it for 'self defense'. But to his luck, there were none at the moment. Oh well. Making the other snap more is all that he can do for now.
"Missy, or whatever your name is that you'd prefer since it looks like you don't favor the nickname that I gave you, which offends me to be honest, you got to calm down. No need to be feisty. You already got a first bad impression." He mockingly said while dusting himself off for the second time today. "And I'm flattered to be your inspiration for that insult really. I truly am. But it's also alright to be original."
Ashton was getting a little impatient now. He would love nothing more than to go to his dorm and not be close to the girl in front of him. But he knows that after their little interaction here, they'll be meeting again very soon.

If this were a cartoon, smoke would be fuming out of Colina's head. It frustrated her so much that this guy was at least pretending to be completely cool and collected in this argument. She balls her fists before blowing out a breath and furrowing her eyebrows, "It's adorable that ye think that yer inspiration fur a'body. At best yer something people look at, getting them scared enough to improve themselves."

It didn't take long for Colina to get worked up again. Her nose started twitching and her cheeks went pink. Ever since she was little when she got too angry, her nose would do that. Her friends always made fun of her for it, calling her "lil' bun bun". And now, this stupid guy was probably going to too. She quickly lowered her head and rubbed her nose, hoping he doesn't notice.

Trying to just end the interaction without absolutely losing to the boy in front of her, Colina quickly said, "Listen, why don' ye just apologize for running into me in the first place so I can do something more productive wi' my time." She glared up at him, trying to be intimidating despite her twitching little nose, "O' course, I could just pound the apology out o' ye." She didn't really want to land in detention in the first month at her new school, but she would if it meant she didn't absolutely lose this fight.

"So we both found something adorable with each other? You found my ego adorable and I find your little twitching nose cute." Before he leaves, he'll have another go at annoying her. Sad that it looks like he was the only one who enjoyed their little fight. But it looks like he had to wrap it up and go because he wasn't dreaming to find out if she can really beat him up. He was a little intimidated. But just a little bit. Who knows, maybe the girl could even rip his ear off if she was too much in rage.
Like there was a switch that flipped, Ashton became a whole nother person. Guess acting classes paid off. He sighed. "Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be a pain in the... It's just that I had a bad day. And I guess I got too annoyed at such simple things. My name is Ashton by the way. What about you?" Knowing the girls name was the last thing he had to know before leaving. Of course so he can collect some... Information about her.
Her dislikes, allergies, and what not. It's kinda important for future meetings with her. Or for future pranks.
Side note: Sorry if I took to long. Got busy with my irl problems.
