Three of the four students would start to discuss on the strategy of finding the key, none of which were of magical nature which was a pleasant surprise to Alan. @Cosmo Keith DC 8 | [d20:7] + 4 → success, @Ruka Burnett-Tân DC 8 | [d20:4] + 14 → success and @Haley Rose DC 8 | [d20:3] + 6 → success would all attempt to cast the Lumos charm and succeed, which would aid them in their search for the key.

As they would all begin in different corners of the cluttered room, they would find the key rather quickly, even though Ruka seemed to be having a hard time of making progress, Haley would eventually find the key as it fell out of a book when she picked it up to place it aside [3d20 : 11,3,12]. With the key now in their possession they would be able to unlock the door and follow down a narrow corridor as they stepped into a darkened room.

A rope hung from the ceiling and seemed thick and sturdy, at each third toward the top was a small ribbon that had a shiny token bound to it. "This task is for one of you to do and you can obtain up to three tokens during this task," the Gryffindor prefect would explain. The room was a little dark, but enough to make out the shapes of the surroundings and the tokens itself gave off a soft glow. Any carried oil lamp or lumos would extinguish upon entering this room.

Congrats on being the fastest team of solving this the old fashioned way without magic, which earns your team another token. The next task is simple, during the rp (you can also discuss this ooc) you choose one person to attempt the rope climb). Each section awards you with one token.

Willow had admittedly kind of zone out on the last task, just kind of looking around and taking everything in. There was a lot of stuff in the room! Where were they even supposed to start? She didn't even hear them breaking up and starting to look through stuff. All she had was her little lamp friend, and they were doing fine. By the time she came to to try and start helping, the task was done. She smiled a little sheepishly, feeling bad for not contributing. "Nice going guys!"

Since she didn't participate in the last round, she figured that she would try and do this. Except... Willow wasn't exactly known for her strong buff arms. Rather, quite the opposite. The only thing strong about her arms was the fact that she could hold a wand and cast really good during duelling. During her times as a quidditch keeper she might've had a little bit more arm strength but those days were far behind her. Still, to give up before giving it a try was not in her wheelhouse. She knew better than that. "I'll give a go on this one!" She set down the lamp and wiped her hands on her shorts before preparing to climb the rope.

Haley searched through books, books and more books. Just as she picked one up and was about to put it away, something fell out of the pages and clanked as it landed on the floor. "Guys!" she exclaimed excitedly and bent down to pick up the key. She held it in the air and excitedly looked at her teammates "I got it!" the redhead grinned widely. With the newly acquired key, she walked to the door and opened it. She glanced behind and waved the others behind her with her hand before walking down the corridor.

Arriving in the dark room, Haley briefly cringed inwardly as the light on her wand went out. She had to blink a few times to get used to the new darkness. It seemed the others had adjusted more quickly to the new surroundings when she noticed Willow already getting ready to pull herself up on a rope. "Oh wait." Haley spoke, stumbling over to her. "I'll give you a hand." She explained further, bending her torso slightly forward and clasping her hands together to make a robber's ladder for the other girl.

She waited for Willow to climb up with one of her feet in her hands and then straighten up with all her strength, continuing to offer her support by her legs. She tried to pinch the rope with her legs so that it didn't wiggle back and forth too much, and incidentally to push Willow further up from underneath. It had been ages since Haley had last climbed a rope and she still remembered too well that it was quite strenuous.

@Haley Rose and @Cosmo Keith seemed to encourage @Willow Anderson, a dear friend of Alan and the boy wanted to see her succeed; it was hard to not join the group in cheering the Hufflepuff on as she stepped up to the rope. (DC15; [d20:11]+5) It seemed like a tough task at first and Willow would find her muscles ache as she gripped the rope and started to pull herself up. But after a little while she would reach token number one and be able to take it as a victory. But she wasn't done just there (DC15; [d2o:15]+5), she seemed to get the hang of it and began to wrap her legs around the rope as she pulled herself up more efficiently, determined to make it to the next token that would soon land in her pocket. With some last strength she woulld pull up even further, muscles straining as she reached the top of the rope to snatch the third token far up (DC15; [d20:13]+5). "Whoa..." Alan whispered to himself, unable to contain how amazed he was by Willow in that moment, he was proud of her! But then shook his head to gather himself, a grin on his face, as Willow slid down the rope and landed back on the ground.

The boy gave the group a nod and lead them to where seemed to be a small cliff that would connect to the next room. It seemed the only thing that was connecting both ends of the cliff, was a set of monkey bars that were attached above the students heads or a set of turning logs, that would require them to balance over. They shouldn't fear as falling down would allow them to land in a soft pillow landscape that would cushion their fall and allow them to climb up a ladder to the point they were standing right now, allowing for another try at the task.

This is a Choice Task, to proceed to the next room you may either choose to climb (strength DC12) or balance (evasion DC15) to reach the next room! I will allow being late this time but please post on time the next time...

As soon as Willow was on the rope and climbing, Haley cheered her on. "Yes, you got this!" thrilled with her skills, Haley clapped when she had grabbed all three tokens. "Great job!" she admired her team partner and proudly patted her on the shoulders. She followed Alan to their next obstacle. Two paths that led to the next room. Two paths that would not make it easy for them. Strength or balance? Haley and the others would have to choose one in a moment.

Haley thought back and forth for a brief moment before making her final decision. "Okay, let's do this." She clapped her hands once and directed her gaze upwards. She jumped off the ground once forcefully and grabbed the monkey bars hanging over their heads with her hands. She immediately noticed the weight that now hung on her arms, but she would do her best. Maybe the little bit of training she was doing would pay off right at this moment. She began to swing forward with her right arm, using her lower body as support, but trying not to swing her body too wildly at the same time.

You got this Haley, the Gryffindor encouraged herself as she hung up there in the air. Not only did she want to prove something to herself, she also didn't want to embarrass herself in front of her team after Willow had already performed so well. On top of that, she had little desire to fall into the depths. Depth. At this cue, her gaze turned downwards and, to her reassurance, she could see a pillow landscape there, which at the same time took away some of her tension.

The encouragement from Haley helped Willow pull herself up the rope. Her arms were practically shaking by the time she got to the top. With all three tokens in her pocket, she happily and quickly worked her way down. She got bored of sliding like an inch worm and eventually dropped down when she felt like it was safe. All of her years of jumping off swings helped her maintain her balance. "Thanks for the help Haley, I needed it." She handed her one of the tokens to share in their victory.

Alan led them to another room where there seemed to be a cliff that was filled with pillows. Honestly, falling into the soft pillows didn't sound to bad as Willow's arms would definitely be sore from the rope climbing the next day. Haley took the monkey bars, which would usually be Willow's pick too. The young badger decided to go for the balance test of logs. It definitely wasn't her specialty, but she thought it would be smart. Then Haley wouldn't feel rushed and they could both go their own paces to cross. The last thing they needed was to rush through something like this. "Alright, we got this!" Willow took a deep breath before approaching the logs with her arms already prepared to help steady her.

As Alan went ahead, he would wait on the other side for the group of students, as two of them would decide to follow. @Haley Rose would choose to climb the monkey bars, as she went ahead [DC12; d20:16+6] and masterfully climbed to the other side, as if she had been used to this from many visits to the playground. @Willow Anderson would follow suit, opting for the turning logs instead. As she stepped a food onto the log [DC15; d20:2+8] she would feel herself tumble as she noticed the log give in to one side, causing her to drop down and land in this makeshift pillow forte. As she climbed back up, costing a bit of irrelevant time, she would give this another go [DC15; d20:17+8] and it seemed like being aware of the situation was all that she needed, as she gracefully crossed the distance as if dancing on a high rope. @Cosmo Keith would stay behind for now, but could catch up with her team or turn around and go back to camp.

As they made their path into the next room, they will find it to appear like a shore; they could in theory move on right away but if they did, they would miss a message etched into the sand; Dive thrice and grab as many tokens as you can carry. This task might be a little imbalanced but in a way the chances were equal of gaining a handful of token. They could win a bunch or none, though winning none was highly unlikely. Alan figured it should be fine as long as everyone was giving their best and at later tasks they might balance out any lack of tokens. The task was simple and he wouldn't think there was much of a explanation needed. The ambiance seemed serene as thick fog would gather in this specific room, making it hard to keep orientated. One or more could step forward for this task, jump into the steep pond or ease themselves into the water from the wooden pier. The water seemed fine, not particularly cold or warm and neither clear nor murky. A simple pond with a fish or two swimming about.

Mod Note:
You will have three attempts of diving into the pond; you can either choose for one person to complete this task or share the work load. Dive into a pool and retrieve as many tokens as you may, be careful what you grab for; there will be three tokens you can grab per diving attempt. How many tokens you can grab is determined via a Stamina roll. An accuracy roll will decide whether you actually manage to grab the individual token. Write your actions i.e. as such "doing all attempts" or "doing atttempt 1/2/3" etc.

In conclusion of this task; to get to the next task you will have to solve a riddle; this is purely rpg flavor and a free task. Simply choose who you nominate to solve the riddle or whether you would like to solve it as a group (in which case the average Wisdom will be chosen).

Haley climbed over the moat full of pillows at the monkey bars and it was as if she had done nothing else since her day one. She proudly arrived at the other end and cheered on Willow, who was making her second attempt and, like Haley, made it to the other side. "Good job!" she called out to her, welcoming her with a high five before moving on to the next task.

In the next room, a whole new ambiance awaited them. They stood in sand, with a wooden pier and pond in front of them. There was a thick fog at their feet and Haley remembered back to Ireland, standing on the cliffs with her father at dusk and in the fog. The wind blew wildly through their hair and the sea seemed angry. The waves crashed wildly and while there was only a calm pond in front of her, homesickness arose in her for a brief moment. A message was visible in the sand and it was immediately clear what the next task would be. No great mystery, a clear indication. She took the initiative and took off her shoes and socks, "I'll gladly take the first attempt." She said as she did so, and then scampered to the pier.

Haley took a deep breath, bent her knees slightly and jumped off powerfully to dive into the water with a thump. The water was not warm and not cold, the visibility was not completely limited but not perfect either and so the young Gryffindor tried to get as many tokens as possible while diving. She scanned the surrounding area with her hands, trying to spot one of the tokens somewhere with her gaze, until her air became so tight that she would have no choice but to surface.

Haley would also make the further attempts if Willow didn't want to do it. On each subsequent attempt, she would take as deep a breath as she could and descend into the water again, scanning the uncharted pond as quickly as she could.

Once the three attempts were used up, she would try her hand at the riddle, gladly together as a group or alone if necessary.

Action: Taking the first attempt and if no one wants the other two also them. Trying to solve the riddle alone or if wanted as group
