Dad's Old Broomstick Closed

Taylor knew she mustn't been down here. It was dingy, dark, and not the sort of place you'd be happy in. Not to mention it was probably breaking school rules. But Taylor wasn't afraid. The usual reason some one would be down here was for a dare, but even Taylor wasn't stupid enough to do a dare like this, but strangely, she had swam in freezing water...

She was looking for her dad's old broomstick, he had asked her to look for it, he'd wanted to give it his "Shrining Shine". So that was Taylor's reason. She knew that if someone had found her, she wouldn't get told off, she wasn't being mischievous, she was simply looking for a broomstick her dad had once owned. Maybe she could try summoning it? But they hadn't learnt how to summon things yet..

"It's so cold.." Taylor was scared, but she wanted to retrieve her father's broomstick, to make him proud. She knew what dads were like when they'd found an old object, pick it up, take it home, and probably never use it again. But her dad seemed pretty sincere in the owl that he'd sent. 'Dear Taylor,' he wrote 'My old broomstick's at Hogwarts, you know what I'm like with old things, could you find it?, dad'

Ouch! She had tripped on something. She was getting no where. "Broomstick?" Taylor knew it was stupid to call the broomstick, it couldn't hear, it wouldn't just magically walk right up to her. She searched in a nearby cupboard that was filled with all things round, "I'm never finding it!" Taylor sighed, and sat down, she checked her watch, it was 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, and all she longed to do was to go and chill out with Rose Moon, her dear friend.

Iris had been drawn to the sound of a voice. To her this place felt like home, and those who had dared her to step foot in the cold dingy halls were all too disappointed with the lack of fear she had as she merrily skipped on her way. That was just how Iris was, though, her long brown hair bouncing in an energetic manner until she heard the loud yell.
"I'm never finding it!"
The voice sounded distraught in Iris' opinion and she tried to look around in the dim light. Why was someone else down here? It never occurred to Iris before that she wasn't alone, and the new thought almost sent a shiver down her spine. Iris wasn't good at making friends, she was brash and dramatic, but something about this voice made her want to help. She bit her lip as she stood still, hoping to hear the voice again, yet as the seconds ticked by she found that the voice remained silent.
Iris almost grinned as she came up with an idea to get the voice to resound in the basements once more and she took a deep breath. "Who's there?" She attempted to make her voice deeper, moving her head around as she spoke rather loudly. 'Did that sound creepy?' Iris wondered briefly before she continued. "Who dares step foot in my domain?!" She tried to stifle her laughter as she paused, waiting for a response. Iris really hoped that the voice would respond and perhaps this was a step in making a friend who may be in a different house, if that were even possible. Or, maybe, the voice had just been a part of her imagination, and this thought had brought her a moment of deep sadness, which emanated from deep within her.

Potions are like people, they have different stages and develop differently. You just don't know when they are at their finished product.
