Mentorship pv Alexis closed

Seren had come to the Courtyard where she had been instructed to go to meet Noah Jupe, who was going to be a mentor to her as she understood it. It was one thing to ask questions of that nice Slytherin prefect who had volunteered in the Great Hall... But a whole OTHER thing to actually get used to Hogwarts Castle itself, and she hoped this Mentorship process would give her the chance to get properly acquainted with the castle before she ended up somewhere she was not supposed to be.

She really did not want to end up in detention, after all. She'd had more than enough trouble in her life to want to actively court more by making idiotic mistakes that a little help could prevent.

A pinch of preventative powder was worth a pound of cure potion, after all!

The Ravenclaw girl gave a shy smile to the boy waving at her, taking in his appearance as he spoke to her. "Um. Huh...Hi! I'm Seren Yong. I... Really appreciate you doing this." She brushed her fingers along the long braid of her (currently) deep blue hair (She had, after recently noticing the dyed hair amongst some of her Schoolmates, decided to try out new hair colors occasionally. It was an easy change, after all...) in a gesture that might seem like a habitual nervous motion.

She moved closer, and said "Thank you, seriously. I am ready when you are."

[font=Century Gothic]Indeed, Noah was happy to be at Hogwarts, and was glad that he was in a mentor position. He wanted to teach someone, to guide them, to provide support. Noah knew he would always be their friend, or acquaintance, if they ever decided to join him in his clubs, but not as a friend.

"Right, I was thinking you were a Hufflepuff. Sorry, the name rushed past my head. I've always been really good friends with Ravenclaws and Slytherins. So, I think we'll get along just fine!" Noah gestured for the Ravenclaw girl to follow him.

"Um. Huh...Hi! I'm Seren Yong. I... Really appreciate you doing this." Noah nodded, as he noticed the girl sliding back her hair. Ah, well, the girl seemed to be taller than he was, perhaps by a little bit. "Come on now, let me show you around the Courtroom. As I'm sure you think you retained all there was to see about the Courtroom. That may be, but actually, no. There is history here, and the only one I've been around to see, was the Blossom Ball. Granted, I was in my first year, and I was terrifed of everyone, so I missed out big time. That was one moment I regret." Noah apologized, and stated.

"So, I'm glad you came to Hogwarts! But between you and me, would you like to see a little performance that my club came up with? It's in two day's time, on September 11th! We are hosting the first ever Hogwarts Talent show, or the first one in a while." Noah smiled, he wanted the girl to see more than he got to see his first year. Now, this mentorship program was fairly new, and Noah signed up for it reluctantly, but Noah didn't reject that decision.

Before awaiting a response, Noah quickly added, "I can't believe I forgot! I'm Noah Jupe, as I told you, but I'm a Second Year Gryffindor who excelled in Herbology and Astronomy, so feel free to ask me anytime when corresponding to that topic!"[/font]

Courtroom? Seren was a little confused by the use of the term courtroom, when they were in a courtyard... This place had nothing to do with a court of law. Her brows came together in confusion for a moment, before she decided just to let it go. The young man was being kind and helping her out, he did not need her to point out any confusion in his speech patterns. And maybe it was called a courtroom somewhere she had never been, maybe it was common slang or something somewhere, but she had no idea... Better to leave the confusion alone.

In the meantime, she focused on everything he was saying. A ball had happened here? How interesting. She wondered if there would be another... She had no idea how to dance, but it might be fun to watch, and to talk to people.

His question about the Talent show had her eyebrows lifting in curiosity. She had no idea about the clubs, nor had she known there was a chance to do performances here. She did not think she would want to perform... Getting up in front of others was terrifying, especially when she considered how being mocked by people had hurt her in the past.

"I could... certainly consider attending, if I am caught up with my homework." She said, shyly. "I don't want to risk falling behind, though."

She considered the rest of what he said, before asking "Do... Do we have to go out onto the observation platform for Astronomy very often? It's kind of... Open, isn't it?"

[font=Century Gothic]"Well, you'll love the club! Or well, the show! Its coming up soon, on September 11th. We have five contestants, and we, and by we, I mean the audience, will vote the contestants out." Noah smiled, attempting to be comforting.

"Well, its a little different out here, but who knows. Your homework just has to be done the way the professor wants it, but its nothing bad. Your Defense Against the Dark Arts homework will have to be a little complex sometimes, because I believe you might learn The Curse of the Bogies, or maybe in one of the History of Magic Extracurricular classes, you can get the Sneezing Hex, or the Eyeglass repair charm, or maybe even something so fascinating, you wouldn't have thought of it right off the bat, Incendio. My brothers were always telling me that Fourth years learn that spell, but First years do apparently."

Taking a short, calm, and collected breath, Noah sighed.

"Yes, you will eventually go up on the observatory tower. But don't fret, it's not too bad. I have a fear of heights, and yet I can deal with that view. I may be a nerd, but I don't want to be called a nerd, I want to be called something that actually soothes me in a weird way," Noah said, a bit embarrassed, but offhandedly.

"You know what, I want to show you the Astronomy tower."[/font]
