@Selina Knight often when I'm writing an RP most of what is written isn't happening now, it's either happened in the past or is happening in Gabby's head. She thinks about what XXX person would think if they knew she had done XXX thing, she thinks about her past experiences and how they relate to what's going on right now, and she thinks about what the other person/people might be thinking and analyses their reactions a bit. Try to think of multiple possibilities for what is going on (X frowned, and Selina wondered if it was a problem with something she'd said. Or was X thinking of something else? Something from the depths of their past that happened to surface right at this moment, something they could never bear to tell anyone but was omnipresent, displayed just there, in their eyes. Or maybe it was something simpler, a homework assignment they'd just remembered, possibly. Yes, that was probably it, thought Selina, pushing the thought aside and continuing with what she was about to say.)

See? That alone is nearly 100 words, and it adds so much more than saying "X frowned. Selina was confused, but carried on anyway." Most of my RPs are 700+ words because of tangents like this, and they make writing much easier to read imo.

oh tangents! we love tangents. especially me. i love tangents.

I try and add a lot of fluff to my writing, but also much meat.. however sometimes it doesn't flow smoothly... man writing can be hard

gotta love a good tangent, right? today my bio teacher waffled on about his kids for 15 whole minutes XD
