Because of her disability, Hildegard Schneider often fell from the stairs. It was a bit annoying but bearable, most of the time.
Not that day, that day the pale Slytherin was heading back to the ground floor after sending an owl to her parent.
Walking all the way up there had exhausted her, and she made the error not to take a rest before going to the Great hall.

The thing is, because her right knee feel heavier, whenever she fall on it the pain is greater than with the other parts of her body.

On her way back, the witch fell from the stairs 2 times, she was scared, falling again scared her, it was painful and her mind was mixing several thoughts.

-It hurts !
-I don't want to fall anymore !
-Hate my leg !
-I wish I could just... walk normally...
-When is this over ?

It was hurting so much that she could no longer concentrate on the stairs, and as the saying goes, never two without three.
The disable girl felt again rolling the stair cases, but this time she would put on a fight even if she just wanted to cry she pulled out her wand trying to cast the Slowing Charm.

-Arresto Momentum !

Schneider successfully slowed down, but the position she was in just after slowing down made it impossible for her not to fall again, which she did.
But finally she stopped, there was no more stair cases to roll into, but Hildegard had already past her breaking point.
In her last seconds of self control she used her wand.

-Verdimillious...

Her wand started to emit green sparks, signaling herself.
The Slytherin started to cry helpless and in pain.

Tachi Einar was on her way to the Gryffindor Common Room after a short stroll around the castle grounds when she heard something heavy crash and what seemed to be a series of crackling sparks. She turned her attention to where the sound came from and started to walk cautiously, who knows what she might encounter in this magical castle. As her footsteps got closer to the source of the noise, she found a figure sprawled down on the landing of the stairs enveloped with an eerie green glow left from the charm they just cast. Without thinking twice, Tachi ran to the helpless person who seemed to be howling in pain and clutching her leg.

-Are you okay?

Tachi didn't know what to do for she wasn't exactly trained in first-aid, she had house-elves for that. The person in front of her was still in a state of shock after falling from a whole flight of stairs that she didn't notice the presence of another witch in the corridor. Tachi took this time to observe the young witch in front of her while trying to offer her assistance.

- She had a green inner lining inside her cloak, she must be a Slytherin...

Slytherin... maybe Tachi could ask her the name of the Slytherin Headmaster to help with her Sorting Hat incident— after she helped her up of course.

I'm.. vot okay! She tried saying while crying.
I'...m zo ti..red of falzing, it... it hurts ! she added while tears were flooding.

Hildegard looked at the girl but could not see her feature clearly as her tears were blinding her vision.
She tried to get up, but while moving her limping leg the pain made her fall head first again on the floor.

-Pathetic... I'm uterly pathetic...

She was thinking of "that time" in her common room, and at that moment it was as if she had a flash. Hildegard accepted how pathetic she was, her face became expressionless, even tho she was still crying.

-Who ve you ? She asked the girl that came into her rescue.

Schneider was still on the ground, her actual mood did not make her forget to stay polite and introduce herself :

-I'mve no one...I'zon't think i'zezerve a name.. too worvsless... I kant iven valk (I'm no one, I don't think i deserve a name (because I'm) too worthless. I can't even walk). She said crying.

-Why isn't Hogwart a bouncy castle ???? She wondered on the ground.

She was not moving anymore, instinctively playing dead out of losing hopes, barely capable of emitting an audible speech.

Ashton was going to the boys lavatory when he heard a very big thud and something crackling. He stopped for a moment. He was very tired and sleep deprived so he didn't really know if it was his mind playing tricks on him. About a couple of minutes pass by he heard two voices.

One was crying while the other was talking. He didn't know what's going on at this point but he still rushed to where he heard the thud and see two girls. One was crying in pain on the floor while the other is seemingly trying to help.

"Bloody hell." Ashton said under his breath and came close to the two students. One, he recognizes, is a Slytherin while the other must be a Gryffindor.

Ashton got close to the one on the ground and helped her in a sitting position. The two students must be so confused on seeing him but he wasn't thinking straight and doesn't care.

After that he asked"What the hell happened here?" Ashton muttered while rubbing his face. He could've just left after he helped the girl but he was confused. Why or what on earth was going on here. And does she need help to go to the hospital wing?

Ash.

Avery was on his way back to the Snape dorm, glad that he was finally done with class for the day. What should he do next? Perhaps grab his violin and make a trip to the Rehearsal Room, to check if anyone was using it. It didn't seem like a 'homework' type of afternoon at the moment, though he had to admit that most afternoons were rarely 'homework afternoons'....

Sure, the classes at Hogwarts were wickedly fun, but doing homework and writing papers was not quite so interesting. Especially if you did it with a quill and ink. Maybe he should copy Ming, and begin writing his things with a pen and paper instead. Gosh, magical world writing was so backwards.

He was just making his way down the stairs, when he saw a shower of green sparks and heard a loud crying sound. Did the stairs prank someone again? He had often tripped on those disappearing steps himself -- those blasted stairs, always trying to one-up him. They did have a sense of humor, but he'll find a way to pay them back one day.

He saw a blubbering pale girl on the floor, and immediately recognized Hildegard as she became limp and laid down in a prone position, as if refusing to get up. A boy was attempting to help her up, and a girl was checking on her. What in the world? He knew that Hilda had a disability in one of her legs, which usually impaired her moving abilities, but it seemed that the stairs really got the best of her this time.

Somebody needed to knock some sense into this girl, and the other two simply weren't cutting it. He sighed and approached the group, crossing his arms with narrowed eyes as he, too, stood over the girl, but with a much different attitude. "Hilda!" he called. "Get up off the ground right now and stop blubbering!" he said with a tone dripping with disappointment and horror that she could commit such an atrocious scene. "I know you can do so much better than this! Now don't go letting lions think that they can get ahead of us!" Gosh, Hilda, this really wasn't a good look for first-year snakes.

He willed the pale girl to get up.

Hildegard was trying to calm down, it took her a bit of time, but ended up managing to do that.
The fact that Avery was here helped, she did not want to embarass herself in front of him, because she did like him. Not in the romance sense of course, at least not yet.

- I ab sorzy but's zust true ! She replied to Avery.

After a bit she managed to reduce the cries, and thanked them for helping her.

-zank you... I could not stop falling...

I... need to go to the hospital wing, I think... No first I need to rest She said more calmly.

-Thank you again, I'm Hildegard Schneider by the way. I've been falling the stairs for a while and several times now, that's what happened...

-Being able to run would be so nice...

-Hey... Do you have like , something you deeply wish ? I mean what do you think you would see in the Mirror of Erised? She asked them.

The girl at this point had calmed down, her body was still hurting her, her face was red from crying and her moral and self-esteem were down, but she could finally talk properly at the very least.

He'd never seen Hilda in quite a state. After the events of the weekend, he was more used to seeing her setting geese butts alight with Incendio. Her face was tear-streaked, nose all runny and stuffed, and obviously in an amount of pain. He felt pretty sorry for the girl, to be honest. It must be tough not to walk easily, and these blasted stairs sure didn't make things easier.

"Sure, let's wait a bit until you're better, and then take you to the hospital wing. I'm sure they can help," he said, hoping he knew or remembered where the hospital wing was in this convoluted maze disguising as a school.

She'd fallen down the stairs several times by now? Gosh, that didn't sound good. No wonder she had to leave the Great Hall early at breakfast to get to her next class on time. Was it all buffer time for expected falls? he wondered.

While she was steeling herself and trying to calm down, her mind seemed to float towards the Mirror of Erised, whatever that was. Using his not-always-great deduction skills, Avery supposed it was a magical mirror that showed you what you deeply wished... Now, what would that be, for him? "Hmm, I think I might see myself as a famous violinist," he said, his mind going first and foremost to his musical practice, which had been at least six years in the honing, having cost him much blood, sweat, and tears alongside great joy. But, if the small eleven-year-old boy were to look deeper within himself, perhaps he would find that he ultimately preferred to have the freedom in his life to do as he liked; to act as he wished without restraint, and to be able to pursue whatever dreams and hobbies he would develop without deterrence.

"I guess that's what I want," he concluded. "What about you guys?" he asked anyone else who was willing to share.

She listened to Avery, the boy was really nice, but she felt a bit humiliated about this situation. The pain was slowly disappearing, maybe she would not need to go to the hospital wing after all.

-I think I m fine I just need to rest, but thank you for all your concern.

Schneider wanted them to leave as she did not like to have this kind of attention on her, she hated it in fact. It was fine if it was with only one person but so much ? It only made her more self conscious of her disability, her dependence on walking properly fast.

-You guys can go ! She said, rather than a suggestion it was more of an order, to keep the remains of her pride intact.

Schneider left, leaving them there, heading to any place without people, maybe the park or something. The pain was now largely bearable, so she did not want to go the hospital wing, what would she say anyway ? and what would they do ? There was nothing really. In the end she went to search her cat, needing some comfort from Walter. The only one she could really open up to, because cats don't look at people with disappointment or anything like that.
