It seemed that no ‘Out of Order’ sign was enough to dissuade Starlee from pressing forward. Her and Scarlet had been rather lucky and impressive in their navigation choices, so hopefully the choice would prove the correct one. So both decided to throw the cautionary note to the wind and move towards the right path even if it would cost them their shoes.

Wandering by the note and into the pathway that was slightly illuminated by Scarlet’s wand. They would continue a short way down the path until what looked like a small chamber. On the far side was a closed wooden door with no indication of what might be on the other side. At the center of the chamber was what looked like a large porcelain bathtub just sitting there. It seemed to be slightly over flowing as a continuous trickle of water poured over the side but it was nothing too concerning and could perhaps explain the shallow layer of water the students were still walking through.

However, as the pair walked through the threshold of the chamber there was an audible *click*. Suddenly the bathtub groaned and tipped over towards the two students. A massive wave of water careened out of the tub, far more than such a vessel should be able to hold, indicating some tricky enchantment at work. The wall of water would crash into both Scarlet and Starlee at stomach height, drenching them and the force carried the girls backwards along for a short surprise ride before depositing them right back where they had started. The water was still hitting them and would be at knee height but no longer seemed to have the power to push them back. Excess water began streaming down the other pathways with seemingly no stop. The girls could still try and walk through the now deep water back towards the mysterious door or could choose to run off in one of the other directions.

(@Scarlet Salvatore and @Starlee Kennedy can take one of these directions: Left, Right (into deep water), Back the way you came)

As the path had decided for Anastasia, the girl would oblige and headed through the new doorway. She could still hear the hedge moving and rustling as she passed through the door and onto the new path. Unlike the rest of the maze, most of the fog seemed to have cleared, allowing the girl at least some visibility in the dark corridor.

The path would continue for a short while before she would be faced with a new choice. While it seemed like she could continue forward, there was a ten foot hedge now blocking the path. It seemed like one might be able to climb over it or find a way through it but that was not the only option. The path also had a fork branching into a new path towards the right. There was a small note hanging from the wall to the right path that simply read ‘Watch your Step’.

An annoyed Jack and young Avery seemed to make quick work of the rock friend table. Both snatching some small companions. Without hesitation, Jack then started into the ‘Friendship Tunnel’. Akari snapped out of her aloofness and swiftly slipped through the first secret passage to catch up to the boys. Avery waited momentarily for the girl and then both were quickly scrambling after Jack and into the darker tunnel.

Leading the pack, Jack was able to efficiently crawl through the winding tunnel. Some sections were a bit of a challenge to squeeze through but it wouldn’t take the boy long to press forward. After a short while he would be able to vaguely see the exit to the cave as a faint light but couldn’t make out more detail than that. As Jack crawled forward, there was a sudden click from beneath him. The two young students behind him would also hear the click but it was too late to prepare. In an instant, the floor beneath all three of the students fell away like a trap door revealing a pitch black pit below.

Jack would instinctively grab onto an exposed root on the side of the tunnel. Straining, Jack would prove strong enough to keep from plummeting into the pit below, but he was essentially just hanging in the air above the pit. About fifteen feet forward from Jack’s position looked to be solid ground leading to the end of the tunnel but there were very few handholds and roots that looked as though they might be able to support him.

Behind Jack, however, the other two students were less lucky with the surprise. As soon as the floor gave way, their scrambling for a grip yielded nothing and both Avery and Akari would plummet some fifteen feet down into the pit before there was an audible splat. It was unnaturally dark in the pit, even the Lumos from Akari’s wand seemed useless so they would not be able to see the foul mush that they had landed in. They couldn’t see it but all of three of the students would be able to smell the foul stench of the rotten fruit that broke their fall and now coated the clothing of Akari and Avery. They weren’t hurt but the two fallen students could begin to feel that they were sinking into the mush and there was no telling how deep it might actually be.

Available Directions: Jack can try to go forward or backwards in the tunnel. Avery and Akari are stuck in the pit

Upon Akari's exit from the tunnel she grinned at seeing Avery still there."Hey Avery! Thanks for waiting for me mate" She replied as she stood back up and quickly dusted off her clothes while taking a look around. Though her attention soon went back to Avery as he tossed a rock over to her. Once she caught it, a small smile appeared on her face as she inspected its features. It was quite adorable. "Gosh! It's so cute, thank you!" She looked back towards Avery before continuing to prattle on. "I love it, but it is certainly in need of a name. I think I might name it.... Frederick, yes I'll name it Frederick" She said with a chuckle. Was there a reason for this particular name? Not at all. A rather random name for a pet rock? Indeed it was, but that was exactly what she appreciated about it. "Oh yes right, let's go" She quickly added sauntered over to the tunnel and got back down on all fours and began following Avery.

All was well for the first few moments of the crawling, other than the fact that it was nearly impossible to see anything, but that was soon to change when suddenly and a loud click came out of nowhere. Before Akari had a chance to register or react to the sound she was already plummeting down. She bit back a startled shriek, scrunching her eyes shut until she landed. "Avery? Avery are you alright?!" Akari immediately asked, her eyes springing back open while worry and shock consumed the tone of her voice.
After unwillingly settling into this weird pitch-black pit, she now was starting to feel her skin crawl as she oriented herself to what exactly she had fallen into. She gaged slightly as the wretched smell of rotting fruits filled her nose, the adrenaline no longer acting as a mask. Oh god. This was absolutely disgusting. And just when she thought it couldn't, it then only got worse.
Oh no no no, she had spent too much time in froze in shock that she hadn't even realized that the fruity mush was slowly but surely sucking her in, and she was getting more trapped by the second.
"BLOODY HELL" Akari burst out in another bout of surprise as she began to squirm, unable to be even remotely calm any longer. How in the name of merlin was she suppose to get out of this. Heck, she couldn't even see. This was terrifying, but she had to do something. Anything. She winced and made a face that was full of disgust as she forced herself to try to feel around for something to grab onto.
Wait hold on a second, Jack wasn't down there. He was still ahead of them, right? So maybe, just maybe if they were lucky he was better off than her and Avery and could help. So she desperately called out for him. "Jack?! Can you hear me? Are you there?"
Action: Feeling around for anything she can hold onto and calling out for Jack

Akari soon emerged from the tunnel, and Avery gave her a small wave. "No worries! Just wanted to make sure you made it," he said. She seemed to like the rock that he tossed over to her. "Well, Frederick sounds like a good solid name for a solid rock friend!" All sophisticated but still adorable. Maybe he'll name his rocks Charlotte and Edward, or something, to keep up with the naming trend.

He got back down to drawl through The Friendship Tunnel. The dirt was damp under his palms, and he might be getting his clothes dirty, but whatever. He was quite looking forward to seeing whether they'll find more rock friends in the next room.

But the ground gave way with a clicking sound.

"Gaaaaahh!!" he screamed, feeling himself falling, hands grasping nothing but air. Immediately, he fell into a pile of something sludgy and horribly stinky in a sickly sweet way. The gunk went up all the way past his eyes, and thank goodness he had his eyes closed. He emerged with a thrash and scrambled with one hand to wipe the stuff off his face. "Avery? Avery are you alright?!" Akari asked him in alarm. "I-I'm alright. What is this thing?!" he asked, then somehow feeling that he was slowly sinking into the sludge. Some of it got into his mouth and he sputtered to spit it out. It sure didn't taste good, and it seemed that Akari was beginning to realize their predicament as well.

"Jack! Where are you? Please help!" he called out after Akari did. He squinted his eyes, and although it was dark, his Blindvision helped him spot the boy clinging to a branch or a root of some sort overhead. Hopefully, the boy wouldn't slip. It seemed like the older boy finally got a bit of action he had asked for, but Avery only wished for more pet rocks or something at this moment, after getting out of this mess. "Bleh this is disgusting!" he cried, sputtering the remnants of rotting sludge from his mouth. He didn't want to eat more of it.
Action: Looking around with Blindvision and calling to Jack for help.

Scarlet heard the constant trickling of water a short while before her wand illuminated the chamber coming up in front of them, straining her eyes at the first sight of the bathtub. "What is that?" she questioned, holding her wand out further as they approached the object, "is that... a bath??" Scarlet walked out into a small chamber, in the centre of which stood a large white porcelain bathtub, "what..." she said, broadcasting her confusion aloud.

Scarlet circled the bath, highlighting different parts of it with her wand, looking for anything unusual about it, but from what she could see, it was just a normal bathtub, granted it was one that was overflowing with water. "Well I think we've found the source of the flooding," she said, looking back towards Starlee.

Her wand then illuminated something else just beyond the bathtub, on the far wall, it was an old looking wooden door, but to Scarlet is was something far more useful, a way out. "Look over there," she said, starting towards door, "that to me looks like a way out," she added, smiling at Starlee. Scarlet had just passed around the side of bath, heading towards the door, when she heard a slight 'click' noise from somewhere within the chamber, "did you he-" she begun, but before she could finish the question she was hit with a small wave of water. The bathtub had tipped over, releasing its contents into the chamber, but Scarlet couldn't believe how much water she was watching pour out of it, there was no way it could hold that much.

The wave pushed her and Starlee back to the fork in the maze they had just been at. Soon enough the force of water seemed to lessen and remained a calm body of water, standing at the height of her knees, "and we were complaining about getting our shoes wet," she sighed. The pair faced the same choice as earlier, though this time the answer was certain, "we need to go back and see what's behind that door, I bet that water is just there to try put us off from going back," she suggested, walking back to the entrance of the path going right, back into the deep water and the old wooden door.

If the wetness of Starlee's shoes had already begun to get on her nerves, what was about to happen to the pair was going to be even worse.

As the two made their way through the water, Scarlet was the first to notice a strange overflowing bath; certainly the source of this huge puddle. Well, Starlee hadn't thought the sign would be taken quite literally, an out of order bathroom, but then again, this was the magical world. As Scarlet surveyed the bathtub, she announced the source of the water. "Right... a literal out of order bathroom wasn't quite what I was expecting in the middle of a maze..." she replied.

The door was the next obvious option, but a faint 'click' was heard as Scarlet made her way there to investigate. "N-no-" Starlee began, watching as the wave that had suddenly erupted from the toppling bathtub crashed into Scarlet, and Starlee stuck her hand out to brace herself.

The waist deep water rushed into them, pushing them back towards the fork they had previously made. A light smile appeared on Starlee's face as Scarlet mentioned their shoe predicament, since their entire bottom halves were essentially soaked.

Scarlet suggested heading back to check out the door, and Starlee agreed. "We shouldn't let us getting this wet totally go to waste, lets do it!"

Left hand, right hand, left leg, right leg. Army crawling through the tunnel was fine enough. Nothing too scary about a small space in darkness. Like maybe a few spiders or bugs, but he doubted anything too terrible could happen in here, so he just happily trudged along the decided path. Jack was a lithe kid, so none of the tunnels was too challenging to get past. Of course, the most pressing issue for the boy was the fact that he was getting his clothes dirty, but even that wasn't exactly something that would slow the boy down. Jack felt like a leader, and he acted like one. With chin raised as high as it could in a small space, the boy continued his trailblazing.

Left hand, right hand, left leg, no ground- wait, no ground!? WHERE HAD THE FLOOR GONE?! Jack had been asking for action, but even this was unexpected. Like a mad man, the boy's arms began to fail, looking for any handhold, grasping wildly for something- anything! Aha! The boy's reaction time was swift as his fingers wrapped around a root that had jutted out of the wall. So he just dangled there, his feet without purchase, but hands clutching on to the root.

Like a leaf barely holding onto the branch it grew from, Jack could hear his heartbeat pounding in his skull. "Well shite. That could've gone better-" The boy muttered to himself. But, as he swiveled his head from left to right, he could see that if he tried, the boy could Tarzan himself the fifteen feet back to solid ground. It wouldn't be an easy feat. He glanced down when he heard his name from down below, "Akari?! I'm 'ere- You guys alright? Avery with you?" The prefect's voice was strained as he continued to hold himself above the pit. Didn't that raven dude, Poe, write something about a pit? Jack's mother would never forgive him for forgetting the story, but he wasn't the brightest bulb in the shed. "Hold on! Lemme go see if there is anything ahead that I could grab! Just a heads up- I'm kind of just hangin' around at the moment. Probably gonna fall, so keep that in mind..." The boy was straining to keep himself aloft, but he would begin the trek forward. Climbing wasn't his strong suit, but he was still pretty physically inclined, so maybe it would come to him.

After taking the unexpected ride from the sudden mass of water, the two girls seemed to have accepted their soaked clothing as a bit of a sacrifice. But there was no helping it and their curiosity had been piqued about the door back in the room that had so rudely washed them away. So with wet shoes and a willingness to face the water once more, the girls would press forward.

They were already familiar with the path ahead, but this time it was filled with deepening water. After a short ways, the water would be deep enough to swim in or awkwardly wade through. By the time they would make it to the opening of the chamber, the water would roughly be at chest level if they decided they would continue to stand instead of swim. Water could still be heard splashing against the walls of the room and the bath had vanished entirely from view but was likely still resting at the bottom of the pool.

Making their way to the back of the chamber, the girls would come face to face with the door that was creaking against the pressure of the water. The girls wouldn’t need to wait long before the door happily swung open for them. Water rushed through the sudden open doorway and would pull both girls through the threshold, depositing them on the wet ground just on the other side. Water would continue to pour out from the doorway, helping to drain the room but it would not have the force to actually push the girls. On the other side of the door there were two large tables. Both were covered in a cacophony of pastries and cookies. Beyond that, the path seemed to continue forward with no clear look at what might be ahead.

The group had found themselves in a bit of peril as they lost the floor of the tunnel and ended up either hanging or inside a dark pit. Jack had been the only one with the speed and strength enough to keep himself from plummeting into the filth below. But it was a tenuous grip on the few protruding roots that would allow him to remain floating above his companions. Jack was going to attempt to continue forward but had awareness to warn the other students that it may not be a successful attempt.

For a few moments, Jack was able to begin climbing across the wall using roots as foot and handholds. But it seemed the maze was not too keen on being used as a jungle gym. As Jack reached for another handhold, the visible roots would retract into the wall leaving the boy with nothing. Nothing but air. Plummeting down into the pit to join his companions, Jack would land with a large splat, sending chunks of mushy and rotting fruit splashing over the other two in the pit.

Both Akari and Avery had been calling for Jack, so perhaps it was them who had summoned the boy into the stinking pit with them. As Akari would begin feeling around for some way to get out, her hands would press against the slimy walls of the pit. Occasionally, her hand would press directly into the moist and filthy remains of some fruit. Avery’s blindvision would allow the boy to make out their surroundings. Not that it was immediately very helpful. He could see that the pile they were slowly sinking into was a cornucopia of different fruits well past their prime. As for the walls around them, they were sheer walls with very limited visible roots or anything that might resemble a foothold. Climbing out, especially covered in the slippery fruit, would be exceptionally difficult. But perhaps there was another way out of the pit. Something hidden from their immediate view.

The two girls pressed back into the 'bathroom' that had washed them away so rudely, this time making their way back to the door that had looked so promising. As they did so, the water got higher and higher, reaching up to the girls' chests, almost as if it was a pool.

Starlee pushed forward, reaching the door that seemed to be creaking under the pressure of the water. "Get ready..." Starlee said as she began to walk towards the door to open it, bracing for what could and probably would be an inevitable waterslide into the next room. The door didn't even need a push, as it flew open without any help, causing a surge of water to rush into the new opened space.

It wasn't quite as bad as Starlee was expecting, the water really didn't have the force to push them into the next room unlike the previous one, and so the two were left standing in the doorway, soaked to the bone. Starlee would consider untying the flannel around her waist to try to cover herself, but she figured since that was wet too, it might just make her colder. She sighed as she realized this, and made her way into the next chamber.

This room was strange, although perhaps not as strange as the last. Two tables stood in the chamber, filled to the brim with various sweets, pastries and cookies. Like any twelve year old, Starlee certainly couldn't help herself. She rushed over to the table while yelling back at Scarlet, "Aish! Look! Cookies!" with a great smile now plastered onto her face. Now this is what she was hoping for.

A wonderful sugar cookie with colorful icing caught her eye, and she picked it up swiftly and began to take a bite of it. "C'mon Scharlet!" She began, her mouthful of cookie. "Grab yourshelf a cookie 'n lech go!" Unless there was some sort of issue with the pastries that covered the table, she would continue foreword.
Action: Eating a cookie and continuing forward (if possible to do both)

Scarlet followed Starlee back through into the chamber that the pair had just been flushed out of, literally. She hoped the same thing wouldn't just happen again, but entering the space this time, the bathtub that once took centre stage in the room was not to be seen, so hopefully it wouldn't be doing a repeat of it's last party trick.

The water level was increasing again on approach, this time it didn't stop at their knees, no, now it had surpassed her waist, greatly slowing their movement through the maze. Scarlet was too busy trying to look for anything beneath the surface of the water that she didn't notice the door waning under the increased water pressure, not until Starlee alerted her to it, "Get ready..." she said, and she did, half expecting another rush of water to come from it.

It didn't even look like Starlee reached the door before it swung open of it's own accord. The water in the chamber immediately moved to fill the empty space that must have been beyond the door, taking the girls with it through the door. At least this time, when the water drained from around them, they found themselves on the right side of the door. Scarlet proceeded to squeeze various sections of her hoodie, each as wet as the next, she had long forgotten about the state of her shoes.

Scarlet took in her new surroundings, studying the new chamber that the pair found themselves in, her eyes lingering on the two tables at the other side. Starlee rushed over to get a closer look at them, and Scarlet was quick to join her. "Wow, nice spread!" she said examining the range of pastries and cookies, taking in all the sweet smells and colours, it was the kind of thing she would expect to appear on the Slytherin table during meal times, not in the middle of a maze.

Starlee jumped in first, grabbing a cookie from the vast selection before encouraging Scarlet to do the same. Scarlet didn't need to be told twice, on such an occasion she wouldn't of even had to have been told once. She went for one of the flaky pastries, and apple turnover she assumed, taking a huge bite into it, she hadn't quite realised the appetite she had built up. The inside was still warm, as if it had been baked recently, and oh so sweet, not too much though and the apples not too sharp - it was perfect. "These are.... soo... good" she said between bites.

"Grab yourshelf a cookie 'n lech go!" Starlee said, starting to make her way towards a new path through the chamber, Scarlet looked back towards the table of treats. She grabbed a chocolate cookie and caught up with Scarlet, 'why make so many? was everyone else supposed to get here?' she wondered, starting to question the placement of the food.

"Hey, you don't think they're poisoned or something do you?" she asked Starlee, "I mean not poisoned, but sort of tainted or enchanted" she clarified, obviously they wouldn't be poisoned to kill them, but surely they wouldn't be just, normal. She was sure Starlee was thinking the same thing as the pair continued down the path, it's not like the maze had been exactly kind so far.

In a maze filled with chaotic danger, it seemed that Starlee was not afraid to just grab random sweets and start munching. Perhaps it was bravery, perhaps foolishness. But regardless, the girl enjoyed a particularly delicious cookie. Scarlet seemed to show at least a bit more caution to the table of mysterious sweets. She seemed to know that there would be nothing in this maze that was as it seemed. She would still grab a cookie though.

Luckily for the girls, the cookies were not in fact poisoned. But they were enchanted. Because why else would Eliseo decide to place cookies on the table. The moment one of the cookies was plucked off to be enjoyed, the other cookies began to roll. They would roll until plummeting off the table. As the two girls continued forward, the cookies would continue to roll along behind them. There didn’t seemed to be any malice in the cookies. It just appeared that they did not want to be alone. So for the time being, the girls would be accompanied by their small brigade of rolling cookies.

As the girls and their cookies wandered, the path would again begin to narrow before reaching a fork of three paths. A wooden sign was posted into the soil between the three paths with the message ‘Almost Free, Choose Wisely’. Beyond that the sign offered no more information. The central path had thick fog making it impossible to see farther than a few feet. If the girls listened, they would hear a squeaking sound coming from the left path and the right path would smell almost like something was burning and the cookies seemed to be rolling in that direction. The girls had expertly avoided most of the truly painful mistakes of the maze but could they keep it up?
