Wet first meeting pv Amelia Faye closed

Dakota laughed lightly at Amelia for a moment. When Amelia had let go Dakota had stayed in front of her, arms extended to catch the girl if need be, but in that moment she wasn’t doing too bad. Dakota knew she’d have to teach Amelia how to stop soon enough, it was something the Hufflepuff needed to know, but for now she was content with pulling Amelia softly along while rolling backwards. Amusement gleamed in her eyes, something Amelia could clearly see as she was being gently pulled along “well, at least you’re getting the hang of it.” once Dakota had started skating she hardly ever stopped for more than a day if she could help it.

“Starting our slow when you’re getting back into the swing of things is always best.” gentle, Dakota was always gentle with helping people, and this was no different. She found teaching Amelia could be fun, yeah sure, but it would still be a bit tedious. Even with this thought process Dakota glanced over her shoulder yet again before looking back at Amelia “I could teach you if you’d like.” it was a offer, something Dakota would be quite happy to do. She continued to glide slowly backwards, starting to hun softly.

Amelia noticed the amusement twinkling in Dakota's eyes and the Hufflepuff would've laughed too if she wasn't so focused on staying upright. "Yeah, I don't think I'm doing too bad," she agreed, "For now at least, I hope I didn't just jinx myself." She was starting to feel a bit more confident now and didn't think she'd need to hold onto Dakota's hands for much longer. She listened to what Dakota was saying and nodded, "I hope I can start going a bit faster soon because going at a snail's pace is not exactly thrilling." She chuckled.

Her thoughts drifted to a couple of videos she had seen online before she attended Hogwarts, she had saw some people doing some cool roller skating tricks and she aspired to be one of them people. They always seemed to be gliding along so effortlessly with the wind in their hair and she wished she could do that too, she would be able to do that with some practice but she could never have the effort to actually practice every day.

Amelia was so occupied with her thoughts that she had only caught the end of Dakota's sentence, "Sorry? Did you say you'd be willing to teach me?" She asked, "I'm sorry, I was too busy thinking about these videos I saw online once of people doing roller skating tricks and I was thinking how I'd love to do that too." She explained, smiling sheepishly, "Would you really be willing to teach me though? I'd love you too, if you really want to." A light blush tinged her cheeks as she was embarrassed at being caught daydreaming when she probably should've been paying more attention to Dakota. Especially since she guessed daydreaming was what caused Dakota to fall into the fountain in the first place.

Dakota gives Amelia a light smile, nodding softly “of course I’ll teach you, I don’t have much to do anyway.” realizing that Amelia could take what Dakota had said the wrong way she takes in a breath. Talking again she blinks softly at Amelia “of course, even if I had things to do I’d still help you.” glancing down at the skates she takes a soft breath. Shifting, she slowly moves to skate at Amelias side, holding Amelias hand to make sure she’s still guiding Amelia but trying to allow her to skate without depending on holding onto both of Dakotas hands.

Continuing to seem to be effortlessly skates by through the courtyard with Amelia now at her side rather than in front of her, it’s much easier for Dakota to make sure they’re safely moving and aren’t going to end up having another crash. Glancing at Amelia she blinks slowly for a moment “do you wanna learn how to stop now?” it was quite simple if you knew how to do it but if you weren’t careful you could trip over your own feet. Typically, Dakota would start with the toe breaks before easing onto her knee pad to come to a complete stop, but since Amelia doesn’t have knee pads, she’d have to use the toe break specifically, I’ll have to make sure to get her some safety gear. biting her lip this thought rang in Dakotas mind, making a mental note.

"Thank you, that's really sweet of you," Amelia smiled. She wasn't lying, she did think it was incredibly nice of Dakota to spend her time teaching Amelia how to skate when there were probably more better ways she could spend her day. "You know, if you were busy you wouldn't need to help me," Amelia said, "I wouldn't force you to." She silently watched Dakota change positions so that she was skating at Amelia's side instead of in front of her, Amelia had to agree that it was probably a better idea to skate in front of her in case Amelia ended up falling and fell on top of Dakota. That would probably hurt, a lot.

She smiled as they continued to skate slowly around the courtyard, Amelia was growing more confident by the second and she felt that she could soon learn some other things. Such as going faster or how to brake. It was as if Dakota was reading Amelia's mind because she asked if Amelia would like to learn how to brake. "Okay, woah, that's kind of creepy," Amelia laughed before explaining herself, "I was just thinking that I think I'd be ready to learn some other things, like how to brake. And then you just came out and asked if I was ready to learn how to brake." Amelia was silent for a moment after explaining herself, then she let out an extremely overdramatic gasp and clasped her free hand over her mouth, "Are you a... mind-reader?" She asked Dakota, turning her head to look at her with as much seriousness as she could muster in this situation. Despite trying to act serious, it was immediately obvious that she was clearly joking. "Well, mind-reader or not, I would actually like to learn how to brake now. I don't need any safety gear, do I? 'Cause I'm afraid I don't have any."

Dakota Smiled warmly at Amelia. She would happily teach the Hufflepuff how to skate and get her safety gear. Taking in a soft breath Dakota shrugged “I’m doing it out of my own free will, plus, you seem to enjoy it,” if someone wanted to learn, Dakota would gladly devote her time and effort towards them. She was more comfortable skating at the girl side than rather in front of her. It made Dakota feel much safer.

Dakota was easily able to tell Amelia was getting more and more confident in the skates. It made the girl thrilled to know so. Though when Amelias words reached her ears she turned her head up and blinked her blue eyes softly. Letting a laugh escape her lips Dakota shook her head lightly “I don’t think I am,” she hoped not. Taking in a breath Dakota shook her head lightly at Amelias next question “while it may make it easier, there’s stoppers on your skates,” she pointed towards the brakes that were built into the front ”I’ll get you some gear at some point, but for now, you can use those to stop,” she’d have to get it during break, but she would definitely get Amelia some.

Amelia quickly glanced down at her skates when Dakota pointed towards them, once she saw the stoppers that Dakota was pointing too, she lifted her head and focused her gaze in front of her. Even though the Hufflepuff might be getting better at skating, she definitely wasn't good enough to be able to skate without looking in front of her. "Oh no, don't worry," she told Dakota, "I'll feel bad about always borrowing your things so you don't need to get me anything. I don't mind getting myself some skates." She reassured the girl, plus if Amelia got her own skates she'd be able to practice during July before Summer Camp.

"Okay, I'm going to try to brake now." Amelia informed Dakota. Using the stoppers that Dakota told her about, Amelia attempted to brake. She wobbled slightly but thankfully managed to keep her balance, "Hey! I did it! That was kind of way easier than I thought it was going to be." She smiled at Dakota. Amelia could definitely say that she felt more comfortable in skating now and she was definitely getting the hang of it, she knew she couldn't start doing big impressive tricks or anything of the sort until later but still, at least she knew how to not fall over while skating and how to brake.

"It's quite funny that all this happened because you fell into the fountain and soaked me." Amelia laughed, "Hey, at least we both got something out of it other than embarrassment and wet clothes. So, should we start trying to go faster now? Maybe I could try skating without holding onto your hand?" She suggested a couple of different things that they could do now that she knew how to brake.
