Orion Phillipe Lécuyer (b. 5 November, 1988) is a French pureblood wizard, a former Auror and hit-wizard. He is the first born son of Phillipe and Delphine Lécuyer (née de la Beaufort). At the age of 11 he was accepted into Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, and attended from 2000 to 2007. Known for his mastery of wandless and nonverbal magic, Orion has had several distinguished careers as an Auror, Hit-Wizard, and educator. Since September 2021, he has served as the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Biography ─────────────────────────────── EARLY YEARS (1988-2000) Orion was born on November 5th, 1988 to two French pure-blood wizards, Delphine Renée Lécuyer (née de la Beaufort), born 1960, and Phillipe Jean Lécuyer, born 1955. His parents visited a naming Seer after his birth to help decide on a name that would best suit him. Believing he was destined to follow in his father's footsteps, the name 'Orion' was selected, after the mythological Greek huntsman. He has three younger siblings; a sister named Océane (born 1990), and two brothers; Basile (born 1995) and Leonardo (born 1997). Phillipe Lécuyer lost his life during the second wizarding war, leaving behind his wife and his children. Delphine suddenly found herself a single mother tasked with raising four children on her own. With a highly demanding job at the ministry, which meant she often had to work long hours, she struggled to keep up. This was when a young Orion stepped up to the plate to help take over as a caregiver of sorts to his siblings. His Grandmother taught him how to cook and bake, often saying that a good homemade treat had a way of calming the soul. He would try to lull his siblings whenever they grew restless or became upset, reading them stories and singing them until they calmed down or fell asleep. Eventually, whenever one of the Lécuyer children woke from a nightmare, they would make their way to Rion’s room and crawl into the comfort of his bed instead of trying to wake their mother. This was especially prevalent after losing their father, as the children would often wake during the middle of the night with tear-stained cheeks. His first instance of magic happened at the age of seven. It was a simple event, nothing too fancy. Orion, having always possessed a great sweet tooth, had been denied a sugary treat that morning. His mother had said it was too early for pastries. Young Orion became upset and the family suddenly noticed one of the leftover chocolate éclairs from the night prior floating across the kitchen and landing on his plate. BEAUXBATON YEARS (2000-2007) Orion attended Beauxbatons Academy of Magic in his youth. Quiet and reserved, he was a bit bookish and preferred the company of the written word to others, selecting to make few social connections. His friends were usually hesitate to interrupt him unless they needed advice, which meant he was often alone. This, combined with his pale complexion, dark map of hair, thin frame, and quiet nature, were the qualifying features that Orion needed to become a target. |

 Orion during his third year at Beauxbatons. | ─ | As a well-mannered boy, he had never been interested in conflict or showing off his abilities to those who were not his professors, so he usually ignored the names the other children would call him. People mistook his quiet nature for an act of cowardice. His indifference to their taunting and mild nature was not the reaction his peers had hoped for, so they begin to find new ways to torment him. As fond as they were of throwing jinxes and hexes his way, Orion was quick to throw up shields or other charms to protect himself. |
Physical violence became the only way the group seemed to get their point across. Orion was anything but strong, so it defending himself by fighting back was not something he was capable of doing. So, he focused on the art of dodging his attackers and refining his reaction time.
He did, however, quickly find his talent in Defense Against the Dark Arts after wanting to follow in his father’s footsteps and become an Auror. While these were often unpleasant times for Orion, they also forced him to hone his skills and keep his emotions under control. Over the course of his school years, Orion learned much about his abilities and focused on sharpening and training them. In 2004 he fought long and hard to teach himself how to use Nonverbal Magic, a feat that was followed by him learning how to cast Wandless Magic.
During his last year of school, his mother hired a private tutor to teach Orion the art of Occlumency. He completed his schooling and N.E.W.T.s at age eighteen and then applied to work for the Bureau of Magical Justice in the Auror department. AUROR YEARS (2007-2013)

Beginning his new career at the age of 18, Orion quickly established himself as a promising recruit during his time as an Auror in Training at the Bureau de la Justice Magique. His ability to use both wandless and nonverbal magic set him apart, though his mentor warned him about revealing his skill to enemies. During his tenure as an Auror, Orion worked several high-profile cases. His sister, Océane also followed their family's career path and became an Auror. After working in France for a year, Orion decided to transfer to England. It was during this time that he met fellow Auror, Galahad Browne. Drawn in by his attempts to appear aloof, Orion made it his personal mission to crack Galahad open. Unwilling to process the pain of losing the man he loved, Orion found solace in meaningless one-night-stands. Those days became a blur, with faces and names he could not remember, and his superficial connections did not dull the ache in his heart for long. The facade of a carefree playboy was but a hollow defense mechanism; behind his charismatic smile and flirtatious comments, Orion guarded his heart, determined to never allow himself to experience such emotionally vulnerability again.
HIT-WIZARD YEARS (2013-2021)
❝Orion could almost hear the echo of the accusations—murderer, monster, executioner—in the silence of his mind. He could not deny those names. He believed he was above it all back then. Had once embraced the shadows as a part of him, working within them to dole out punishment for those deemed too dangerous to draw another breath. If the boogeyman existed, it was Orion Lécuyer.❞

It was to his own horror that he found himself enjoying the hunt at times. It was a darkness that he tried to shield away from the work, but the loss of Galahad became a turning point for him. He embraced the darker side of himself, allowing his ruthlessness to surface. After spending six years as an Auror, Orion found his career was quickly becoming less satisfying. Openings in the hit wizard department were almost always a guarantee, given the high mortality rate, so Orion decided to make the shift. |
During his time as a hit-wizard, Orion assisted in hunting down some of Europe’s most notorious magical criminals. While he was 'officially' working for the Ministry of Magic, Orion occasionally took on assignments from Thaddeus Athanatos, helping to eliminate any individuals he felt had conflicting interests. Orion often justified these actions as necessary, but they only fed the darkness within him. There were times he found the lines between justice and vigilantism blurring, and he struggled with the moral ambiguity of his work. The thrills he once found in hunting were quickly making him feel hollow.
On November 6th, 2020, the day after his birthday, he was given the news that Océane had died in the line of duty, her husband now a widower and single father of two small children. Orion dealt with death on an almost daily basis, but the loss of his sister rattled him. He felt a career change was necessary, having found he no longer felt that same spark of joy when hunting down criminals. It was several months later that a colleague informed him of a job opening at Hogwarts.

The three were former colleagues, having known each other for quite a few years before being hired. Orion was thrilled to start a new chapter in his life.
Nurturing the future generation of wizards felt like a redemption for the sins of his past, his time as a professor has not been without challenges. Early on in his career he was informed of a hag coven that had taken up residence in the Forbidden Forest. Drawing on their years of combat experience, Orion, Halford, and Tuesday managed to confront the coven. The battle was brutal, but the three former-Aurors took the coven down, supposedly ensuring the safety of their students...
In early 2023, Orion's life took an unexpected turn when his old love, Galahad Browne, was hired as the new Head of Gryffindor house. Their reunion stirred feelings Orion thought he had buried long ago, and despite his initial fears he ended up opening his heart to Galahad again. The two begin to date, starting off where they had left off so many years before. Galahad proposed to Orion during mid-2024, which both filled him with joy and terrified him. While he yearns for a future together, he is terrified of Galahad discovering the sins of his past...
