The Young Gryffindor
Asuri hesitantly made their way to platform 9 3/4's, pushing the trolley with their trunk in front of them. They saw another future student run into a wall, phasing through, their jaw dropping in amazement. Baffled at the magic they were witnessing, even as they had already seen it, and still in wonderous amazement. Asuri stood before the wall and took a deep breath before closing their eyes and running at full force. To their surprise, they went through and passed along to the other side, gasping as they moved to the other side. They opened their eyes and gazed in wonder at the glorious train before them.
Asuri got on the train, slowly walking along the corridors and looking at the other kids in each of their seats, laughing and giggling at each other. They searched desperately, clutching a small journal to their chest, for an empty compartment. With a sigh of relief, they found one and hurried inside, closing the door behind them and getting settled. Seated near the windown, they open their journal and began to write, occasionally drawing on the pages. Every once in a while, they would glance out the window, watching for the train to start. They gazed at the clouds, seeing the unique shapes in the blue sky and thought about how different their life was going to be.
Excitement and fear fluttered in their chest as they thought of the new challenges ahead of them, yet shuddering at the thought of just how many people they would have to see and speak to. It got them thinking about the different houses and it inspired them to draw something.
They began with the Raven, symbolizing Ravenclaw, the "intelligent" house. They drew a blue and gold scarf around the Raven's neck with glasses on the bird's face. Next, the Badger, symbolizing Hufflepuff, the "Selfless" House. They drew the gentle beast eating a blueberry muffin with a yellow sun hat on its head. Third, a snake, the symbol for Slytherin, the "Cunning" House. Asuri drew it with varying shades of green and black shades of scales, a black hat upon its head. Finally, A lion, the symbol for Gryffindor, the "courageous" house. The attire that was drawn was a red and green scarf around the neck with a red and gold mane.
As Asuri was done, they smiled and gazed down at their work.
