Clumsier Than Usual
Odette slowly walked in what she thought was the right direction of the lake. Not that she was really paying attention because she had her head stuck in a book. This of course, leads her to not look where she's going and that sends her walking straight into a tree. She drops her book and winces, putting her hand on her forehead. She looks around to make sure no one saw what she just did but there could be someone and she just can't see them.
Giggling to herself, she picks up her book and continues on her way, this time being slightly aware of where she's going. Only slightly.
So far at Hogwarts, she hasn't really met anyone although she hopes that changes soon. She grew up with three cousins but she often stuck to herself seeing as they were all blood related and she was adopted by their Aunt and Uncle.
Everyone at her old school tended to make fun of her for not really having a place to belong. She guesses you could say that she's lonely but too stubborn and independent to fully admit it.

Clumsier Than Usual
Ava was walking around the grounds, taking pictures. Unlike last time she tried to do it, inspiration was everywhere. Everything was full of color, full of life, full of... everything. She was walking around with her hands almost glued to her camera and her black cat - excuse me, kitten (who is pretty enormous for his age) - was following her and trying to catch leaves that were falling down on the ground. He was truly a great friend - never yelled at her, never lied to her... Ava did not care if Bambo was a cat. He was great and she really loved him. It was a gift from her sister - something truly important to her, as she knew that she will not see her for a long time.
The girl sat down on the grass for a while. She was now near the lake - one of her favorite places in the entire school. It was not only beautiful but also outside, which Ava absolutely loved. It always gave her a boost of energy which she often needed.
She was just relaxing, playing with her cat when she heard a loud splash. Something either got thrown into the water or...
or someone fell into the lake.
She ran over to the edge to see a girl in the lake - drowning? Ava had no idea. She just wanted to help her. She quickly gave her a hand and lifted her up, getting her out of the water. "Are you okay?!" she said with a worried expression on her face, looking at the girl.

Clumsier Than Usual
Odette sputtered and grabbed onto the hand reaching out to her. "Are you okay?!" The other girl asked with a worried look on her face. Odette coughed, bending over and resting her hands on her knees. "I-I'm fine. I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." She stood all the way up and pushed her wet hair out of her face. Her face was probably bright red with embarrassment. She coughs again and clears her throat. She's pretty sure she has water in her ears.
"I tend to get lost in my head a lot. My mom says I think too much," she chuckles. She looks down at her clothes. She's going to have to get a change of clothes. "I'm um, I'm so embarrassed," she laughs. "I can't believe I didn't notice that the lake was right in front of me." She looks up at the other girl and gives a shy smile.
"My name is Odette Haven. I'm sorry if I disrupted your picture taking." Odette bends down and picks up her now soggy book and looks at it sadly. It was her favourite book. She grimaces and looks at her book one more time before offering her hand for the other girl to shake. If she hasn't scared her off already.

"Are you sure? Do you want to go to the hospital wing?" Ava was still worried. Falling into the lake with a giants squid just chilling in it, was not the safest thing to do for fun.
"Ok, I guess... Just look out next time, ok? While we probably are not happy about you falling in, the squid living in the lake probably is not happy about you getting out and not being able to eat you." the girl said. Ava's cat walked over to the two girls and started purring and trying to get on Ava's knees. The young Silver chuckled and started petting him. "This is my ca- sorry, kitten. His name is Bambo. Do you have any pets?" she said, looking back at the girl curiously and hugged her cat, before putting it on the girl's laps.
"He is truly a great friend. Even if he is a cat." the Slytherin girl said, chuckling. "Well, a kitten. He is just fat." she looked at him with a bit of anger and disappointment before laughing again. "And it kinda is my fault. I just feed him too much."
"I should probably introduce myself too. Ava Silver, a proud pure-blood & Slytherin at your service. You did not disrupt me, I was going to stop soon anyway." Ava said.

Odette's eyes widened. She completely forgot about the giant squid in the lake. She silently scolds herself for not paying enough attention. The other girl's cat walks over to them and Odette giggles. She loves animals.
"This is my ca- sorry, kitten. His name is Bambo. Do you have any pets?" The other girl said, as she looks at Odette curiously. Odette smiles and nods. "Yes actually, I have a kitten named Po. He's black and white. With a black mark on his nose. I love him to pieces but I spoil him too much. He's getting kind of fat too," the young girl laughs. "He's probably my best friend. I think I hang out with him more than I hang out with actual people," Odette shrugs. Po is a curious thing who likes to get into things he shouldn't. He almost looks cross-eyed which Odette absolutely adores.
Odette looks back at the Slytherin girl before she gets too lost in her head thinking about how goofy her kitten is. "I should probably introduce myself too. Ava Silver, a proud pure-blood & Slytherin at your service. You did not disrupt me, I was going to stop soon anyway." The girl, now known as Ava says. Odette grins. "I'm glad I wasn't interrupting. And it's nice to meet you too."
