As the two trudged along the left path, the walls began to close in on the pair even further. Scarlet seemed to be talking, and Starlee would oblige her and attempt to answer her questions. "Noooooooo, I don't think the professors would ever put us in any real danger." She would say. "Maybe a few scratches to toughen us up, like these branches here," she would move a branch away from her arm as she said this, "but nothing life threatening. This is a school after all." she would say, remaining as lighthearted and trusting in the school staff as ever.
She would smile at Scarlets next comment. I mean, this was a hedge maze, and... well... usually they didn't force people to walk single file, or be as rather unkempt and tight as this one, at least in the ones she went in, but still. This was the magical world after all, anything can happen. "Are you a muggle born?" she would question. "Like, because I'm a halfblood, and, well, it makes sense that a hedge maze would take on more magical capabilities here." she would say, ending in a bit more of a serious tone. She didn't mean to cause any offense to Scarlet with the question of course, but if she was one of those blood-purists, then they were going to have a problem anyway. Might as well let the spells fling in a strange hidden maze.
At last, the pair finally reached another fork. The left path was more open, however it was much more foggy than the previous area, the right seemed to get smaller and smaller. Starlee would nod and agree with Scarlet, saying, "Honestly, I just need some breathing room anyway, lets go ahead and take the left path then." She would watch as Starlet attempted a Lumos, and Starlee would do the same, raising her wand and saying "Lumos!" Hoping her wand would light. Two spells would be better than one in a foggy area like the one that lay before them. Starlee had been enjoying Scarlets company so far, it could be worth continuing on together.

Well, well, well. A secret little hole was exactly was Jack was looking for. With a look of pure chaotic joy, the prefect just looked over at his two younger companions. "You see that right? right over there." As he spoke, the boy raised his hand and pointed to the small break in the monstrous maze wall. "I'm goin' through it. There were no more suggestions or advice. Jack had found something wonderful! This path was a gift. A gift for adventure and possible fighting. Who in their right mind wouldn't enter this magic hole in the wall.
With his mind dead set on adventure and taking the road less traveled, Jack stepped forward towards the magic hole. But, unfortunately, there would be no way to dissuade the kid from his current course of action. Dropping down to his arms and knees, Warren glanced through the gap only to be met with disappointment. There were no fire-breathing dragons, acromantulas, nor cockatrice in visible sights through the hole. "Y'all coming? There isn't anything super scary on the other side yet!" The unbridled excitement was obvious in his voice. The one thing the others would learn about Jack is that he didn't find much scary. The idiocy of his antics was created because the kid didn't have the 'flight' in fight or flight. So basically, Jack was a dumb kid without any real idea of what mortality it. With his last words, he would climb through.

Avery felt like his senses were on the highest mode of alert that they had ever been. Growing up, he was never really the type of kid who was allowed to go off on his own to explore the far reaches of the earth. There was no possible way his parents would've let him wander outside at night, company or no.
It was about time that his eyes began to adjust to the darkness. As Avery peered over Akari's shoulder, he spotted a fork in the road. Looking closer, there seemed to be a stuffed bear on the left path. Its eyes stared eerily at something unseen, and its head tilted to the side as if its neck was injured or if it was contemplating something. He shivered and hoped that the teddy bear wouldn't move.
"You see that right? right over there." Avery was brought back from his thoughts and scares as Jack alerted them to something. "What??" he asked hastily, snapping around in case the boy spotted a rearing spider. Instead, there seemed to be a hole in the wall, barely obscured by vines. "Do you think something is going to crawl out of it...?" he asked hesitantly, because that's the only thing that happened when one encountered hidden, gaping holes, right?
To his horror, the older boy only got down on his hands and knees and began to crawl in to the hole, instead of running the other way. Was this boy mad? "Y'all coming? There isn't anything super scary on the other side yet!" Yet.
He stared wide-eyed at the hole, mouth slightly agape, wondering what to do. He looked to Akari, who was probably the more sane person out of the two older kids, but slowly decided they should probably stick together in case they encountered something. He swore that this maze was only trying to break them up to eat them one by one in easy pickings. "Maybe it's safer to stick together?" he asked her, more as a rhetorical question. "Three is better than one, I think." With that, he followed Jack, getting onto his hands and knees to crawl in through the hole, hoping that he hadn't just made the wrong decision.

Northern Route
The pair of students had avoided any danger thus far, but how long could they continue to avoid the dangers of the maze. Both Starlee and Scarlet seemed to agree that the wider path looked to be the safer route. Equally wise, the girls both cast Lumos to give them a healthy bit of light in the dense fog as they turned left. Again the path would begin to quickly turn as they walked. After a short while, the girls would begin to hear a splashing sound under their feet.
Because of the light from their wands, they would be able to see a thin layer of water on the ground that lightly splashed as they walked. Even the walls of the hedges around them seemed to be almost dripping wet despite a lack of rain. With each step, the water would get slightly deeper but still was no more than a small puddle depth covering the grass below. The pair would reach a new fork offering them a familiar choice of Left or Right. However, Their lights would see a damp note at the entrance to the Right path that simply read ‘Out of Order’. What that meant would remain to be seen.
(@Scarlet Salvatore and @Starlee Kennedy can take one of these directions: Left, Right, Back the way you came)
After a close encounter with some aggressive hedges, it seemed that young Anastasia wasn’t in the mood to turn back. Most of the vines had slithered back into the hedge but that wouldn’t keep her from casting Incendio on those that remained. Immediately a few of them caught fire before shooting into the ground beneath the hedge and out of sight. There was silence for a moment. Suddenly a loud rumbling would start from behind Anastasia.
The hedges behind her suddenly began to close. Roots and vines grabbed and pulled the path closed, cutting off the path back to where she had started. Simultaneously, the dead end’s back wall began to move. The leaves rustled and shifted as they opened up a small doorway. It seemed that the maze was determined to bring her forward and through its new doorway. After the moments of loud movement and rustling, the hedges finally settled.
(Anastasia Prokovdine (iNPC @Violet Carrington) can take one of these directions: Forward through the new doorway)
Middle Route
@Jack Warren, @Avery Chen
The small group in the ever-changing middle route seemed to allow their curiosity to get the better of them. Who wouldn’t want to crawl into the secret tunnel? Jack seemed to be looking for a bit of adventure and wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to wiggle his way through. Avery, not wanting to be left alone, quickly seemed to follow the decision. So the pair made their way through the tunnel.
It was tight but both would make it through to the other side. They found themselves in a small roomlike chamber. At the center of the chamber was a small wooden table with four rocks sitting on it. With the light from Jack’s wand, they would be able to see little faces painted on each of the rocks but no other information. They appeared to be solidly made rock friends but it would be unclear what the little rocks were doing. Perhaps they were having a little rock meeting... On the far end of the chamber was another hole in the wall of the hedges. Based on the height, the students would have to crawl into the tunnel which appeared to be pitch black inside. A wooden sign sat above the tunnel and read ‘The Friendship Tunnel’ in oddly squiggly writing.

Akari hurried down the left path alongside the two other lads with only a Lumos to guide them. Then they approached another branched pathway, though this time there was a small entrance off to the side that appeared as if the only way to find out where it led to was to crawl through it. It seemed to pique everyone's interest, and so Akari was going to attempt to look through it and verify that there wasn't anything too dangerous waiting for them at the other end when Jack already started crawling through. When Avery looked to Akari, she just nodded. It most definitely was safer to stick together.
As Akari waited for the other two to get down and begin crawling, she looked around to take note of their surroundings on this side, when a creepy little dishevelled teddy bear captured her full attention. She honestly had half a mind to incendio it right there for safety reasons, since as the group previously discussed, most everything in Hogwarts was capable of having a life of its own. So, she made a point to glare at it just to make sure it wouldn't suddenly come to life and attack her, to only after a few moments remember that she was going to be left behind if she didn't hurry up and follow her small group.
Akari pulled out her wand and whispered "Lumos", figuring that more light would do her some good since she was the last one, and then proceeded to also get down on her knees and start to crawl. Hopefully, the others weren't too far ahead.

Both Starlee's and Scarlet's Lumos's were cast without issue. It seemed like it was a good thing too, as they began to walk into a small layer of water below them. She was immediately glad she had chosen to wear her converses, instead of the sandals she typically favored. However, they were white, so concern immediately grew over the possible destruction of their pristine whiteness. She would carefully raise her foot in front of her, he wand pointed down at her shoe, as she began to inspect any possible or future damage. "Ugh, I hate stains..." she would mutter as she did this. Well, there was certainly no turning back now.
As they continued, the puddle grew to the height of the grass, but no taller. It was still certainly enough to soak the exterior fabric of her converses, but Starlee knew that was a lost cause. She would have to deal with that problem later as she could feel her wet feet squishing in her shoes. The pair finally reached yet another fork in the road. However, this time, a note was left there.
"Out of order? What on earth could that mean?" she would turn to Scarlet to see if she had any input. "I'm not so sure about it." Starlee would begin, thinking aloud. "I mean, following the less dangerous paths have done well for us so far, right? Plus... I really just don't know what on earth 'out of order' could mean in this context, what, like the hedge maze doesn't work or something?" It was that thought that ended up intriguing her, making her decision to head to the right. "You know, it could either mean it doesn't work in the traditional sense of it being a hedge maze... Like maybe the hedges are short enough to climb over or something. Or... it could be a trap. But really... it sounds too intriguing to pass up eh?" She would begin to head to the right, unless Scarlet objects. Starlee wasn't totally set on the decision, so If Scarlet felt that left was better, she would follow. She was nervous about what had possibly happened to the other girl in their group, and at this point she really didn't want to be alone, but she would try to act like the brave, bangs-sporting blonde that she was trying to be.

The pair's new light sources didn't seem to be revealing anything unexpected as they continued down the path, still just ground, hedge and more hedge. That was until it cast a reflection off the shallow surface of water on the path ahead, with the fog being so thick though she had no idea if the water continued for long. Around twenty steps later and her soaked through trainers told her everything she needed, the water level was rising, "same, I wouldn't have worn these if I knew we'd be going for a paddle in the middle of a hedge maze," she said jokingly when Starlee mentioned the stains they would no doubt end up with as a result.
"Looks like we get another choice before this gets any deeper at least," Scarlet said as they came to another set of paths to choose from, noting the unchanging level of standing water for the past few meters.
'Toilets,' that was the first thing that came to her mind when she read the sign, but Starlee was right, how could that have anything to do with a maze, "I mean, it makes sense with the water, I guess, but still none of it fits within the maze," she said as Starlee tried to figure out the sign. It was true, that had gotten this far without any trouble by taking the somewhat less dangerous paths, not that an out of order sign was dangerous though, Scarlet didn't feel worried about what the sign referred to, at least no more than she worried about choosing the path with the thick fog, instead, she was curious.
"You've got a point, it could be a subtle sign pointing to the way out," Scarlet said, 'or yeah, a trap, but worth the risk,' she thought, Scarlet had no idea if any of the original group had made their way out of the maze yet, and her competitive side was starting to kick in as she thought they could be so close to finishing it. "Let's risk it!" she said, following Starlee down the path to the right.

You know what? Jack was expecting some terrible things, but this is said in complete honesty, that a pet rock tea party was not what the young prefect thought he would find on the other side of a secret passage. Jack took to his feet with an annoyed sigh, only walk up and swipe one of the rocks off of the table. "This is so boring. Where is the danger? The excitement? This whole thing is so lame. Probably just some old fart thinkin' he can scare us with a lil' bit of darkness and rocks. So stupid." The boy pulled his lips into a straight line of disappointment before grabbing one of the face rocks. " Whoever designed this maze is off their rocker, and not in a fun way. Where are the dangerous creatures? Where are the magical traps that could kill us?" The prefect's daredevil personality was shining through his attempts at looking cool. He was starting to get seriously annoyed at the lack of anything interesting.
Only moments after he spoke those words, he would look at Avery. "Here." With a lofty arc, the boy would toss the rock towards the soon-to-be first year. Oh hey- Where did Akari go? Did they run off?" There would be a pause as he glanced around, before grabbing another smile rock. Why not? Souvenier right? "Alright. I'm done waiting. I'm goin' through the hole. Tag along, or wait for Akari. Your choice." Like a bat into the night, Jack moved back onto his hands and knees to crawl through the friendship tunnel with his new pet rock.Interaction with @Avery Chin

The end of the tunnel got a little tight, but the small boy got through easily enough. He emerged on the other end, dusting off his clothes.
"This whole thing is so lame. Probably just some old fart thinkin' he can scare us with a lil' bit of darkness and rocks," Jack said in a huff at the four rocks chilling on the table together. Avery thought they looked quite adorable, to be honest. It was probably the cutest and least creepy thing he'd seen so far in this dark maze, and he was somewhat grateful for pet rocks instead of magical creatures that could kill them. "I don't know, I think I'd rather keep a pet rock as a Maze souvenir instead of a gruesome large scar," he mused, then realizing he didn't want to offend the boy, who seemed to have a scar himself. "Not that scars are bad or anything!" he quickly added. "Just like...I don't think it goes with my persona." Seriously, a large visible scar on a violin player? "Everyone would wonder if I just tripped and fell on my bow, or something." They would never think he had tussled with a deathly magical creature or give him credit for coming out a alive.
Avery studied the rock that Jack had tossed him earlier. This one had a pout on, as if the tea served at the rock meeting was not to its liking. Cute, nevertheless. He shrugged and put it in his pocket.
"I'll wait a bit for Akari, just to make sure she's all caught up," he responded before Jack disappeared into the next tunnel. He took the time to glance at the two remaining rocks on the table. Would the last one be lonely if he only took one to give to Akari?
"Hey Akari," Avery greeted the girl as she emerged. "There were four pet rocks on the table, but Jack took one, I have one, and here's one for you!" he tossed one over her. "I'll keep the fourth one, so it doesn't get lonely by itself out here." The small boy tucked the other one into his pocket. "I quite like this setup here," he said, and looked towards the friendship tunnel. Somehow, this room made him calm down a little, with its lack of scary things. Friendship was great, right? "How do you like your rock? Want to keep moving?" he asked, getting down to crawl through the friendship tunnel to catch up with Jack.

@/Anastasia managed to do a quick Incendio at the vines that were at her reach, thought many of them had already returned to their hideout. At once, Anastasia felt trapped in the maze, not being able to go back anymore. She thought that it was the end, the feeling of not having any space to even breathe was attacking her as a wall began to close behind her. Praying, Anastasia could only wish that a door would magically appear in front of her. Surprisingly, that was exactly what happened. Thought she was hesitant, Anastasia quickly thought that maybe, just maybe she had taken the right way into the maze.
The biggest question of them all: what was hiding behind that door? Something dangerous, another path, or a riddle? Anastasia, fearing the worst touched the lock of the door. It seemed to be able to open without the need of a key. She took a deep breath and looked ahead, trying not to panick. This was the only way. She had to suffer the consequences, whether good or bad of having taken that path. She took another deep breath and slowly opened the door, and took a step to the other side...Forward
