Kat looked back at James, "I don't really care. How about the... Quidditch field? I know no one is actually playing but I wanna get a feel for the field anyways."
You need to know the field if you're gon' do Quidditch.
I'm aware.
Maybe we can practice?
We cant have our own brooms and I don't wanna sneak in to steal one.
But that'd be fun!
So would getting expelled.
She smiled at James, looking at the others before looking back at him, waiting for his answer.

He placed his hands around the foot of his goblet, cupping it as Stephen spoke. Reid nodded at the mention of Defense Against the Dark Arts, a class he himself was looking forward to. "I've heard a lot of things about that class, good things for the most part." he asked, gently tapping the table with his thumb. Reid was interested in learning spells for self defense, a part of him of course wanted to learn the other side as well. He didn't let himself get too caught up in the thought though, he was afraid what it might lead down the road.

"I hope I can take it soon, I'm really interested in spells. It's quite new to me to be fair. Is the professor for the class strict?" He brought the goblet to his lips, taking a few sips of the liquid inside. He took a bite of the pastry he picked up from the tray, it wasn't too deathly sweet. He looked at Stephen and nodded approvingly. "Really good." he spoke through the pastry in his mouth.

"Trouble usually finds me."

Christy sat down at the long table with the rest of her new Hufflepuff students. She was looking around nervously as the other students talked and did magick. "Wow! How do they already know how to do that?" she wondered to herself. She felt her face flush thinking about how little she still knew about this world. She felt so dumb compared to the other kids. "I'm not sure how I'm going to fit in to this place..." she kept thinking.

She started to slowly take some of the food that seemed to be endless. It was really tasty! She could totally get used to this. "Man, I wish there was some brownies, they're my favourite" she thought to herself. Right after she thought it, they magickally appeared in front of her! Her eyes grew twice as wide and her jaw dropped just about to the floor. She looked around at all the others who didn't seem to notice. She slowly reached her hand out and took one of the brownies that looked absolutely delicious. "It couldn't hurt me... could it?" she thought. She kind of shrugged her shoulders and took a bite. Her face lit up as she tasted it - it was the best brownie she had ever had! "Wow, I could get used to all the delicious food!"

James nodded enthusiastically.
"Yeah!" he exclaimed. "That sounds like a lot of fun!"
Then, James thought for a moment longer. "Wait, do you have a broom?" he asked, lowering his voice.
He wasn't lowering his voice just because she might actually have one, but because he had already been to the Quidditch Pitch and had flown around with someone else on their broom. Until now, James had completely forgotten about the rule that first years couldn't have their own brooms. But then again, now that he thought about it, James hadn't seen any students that weren't first years so far, and he'd been here for three days so far.

Kat smiled "Not here. I have one back home." She looked away, lowering her voice too, "But I know how to get one."
I thought you didn't want to get in trouble.
Flying would be worth it.
More like showing off. You just need someone to stare at you in awe and give you compliments.
I don't need it. Sure, it would be nice, but I really wanna fly and go around a real Quidditch field.
Lair.
She blocked the voice out, looking up while smirking to herself. "But that's only if you wanna. If not Ill go by myself."

James grinned back at her.
"Challenge Accepted." he said, his mischievousness starting to show.
"I'll just be the one who's sticking by to make sure you don't get into too much trouble.." James said, grabbing his bag and standing up. His grin made it obvious that was being jokingly serious.
"So? What are we waiting for? You ready?" he asked, nudging her with his elbow.
James was very much excited to do this. There was that feeling of playful rebellion rising up in his chest, and James knew it was already too late to stop.

Kat chuckled, standing up. "Just warn me if any teachers are coming, I don't wanna lose points for my house or get expelled." She started walking, her hands shoved in the pockets of her robes.
She wanted to run to where they kept the booms but didn't want to seem too suspicious. She strolled casually, flicking her head to move her hair in place.
This is going to be so much fun.
Heres to praying that we don't get caught.
She could feel the inner Slytherin starting to wake up as she thought up different plans for all types of scenarios, ones that she knew would never happen, and ones that were the most likely to happen.

(Let's move this to the corridors...)

Before James left the Great Hall with Kat, he made sure to grab one last sausage and stuff it inside his mouth, chewing the thick and juicy morsel as he walked off after her. He quickly washed it down with his glass of orange juice, grabbing the glass goblet and downing the cup in one gulp. He hoped nobody saw the little bit of juice that dribbled down his chin and dripped on the floor. James set the goblet back down and gasped in a breath of air before following Kat out towards the hallways.
James reached and opened the door to the Great Hall with that echoing sound that came from the 1) light groaning that the door made, and 2) the huge walls of the Great Hall that allowed sound to echo so easily. James stepped out into the corridors, closing the door back up with a dull thus that echoed slightly again.
James turned to see that Kat was already walking away.
"Hey!" he shouted, not too loud, or else he might get into trouble... he didn't know if there was a rule against yelling in the hallways, but he didn't want to push his luck. "Wait up!"
James didn't wait for her to stop, but ran after her, trying to keep the volume of his shoes clopping on the stone floor to a minimum.

Kat turned to him, her red eye on full display as she turned, her hair falling to the middle of her face. Kat blushed, her cheeks turning crimson as they heated up with embarrassment. She moved her hand to her face, pushing the hair back in place before starting to walk again, her pace less calm and more erratic as she tried to hide her face. "Lets urm... go now," she said quickly.

After being sorted into Hufflepuff, Lucy grew a wide grin as she sprinted over towards the long table filled with many students. Her chocolate brown eyes scanned, the great hall examining the other houses. She than returned her gaze back to the sorting listening as her fellow piers where being sorted. She was beyond exicted to start her first year learning new things, making friends and  having adventures to write back home to her parents.
