The Mysterious MazeThe fog thickened as Tristan walked forward, the watermelon smell strengthening in his nose. The maze was getting more narrow the more steps he took and the fog obscured the sun until dampness permeated everything, darkness becoming common. The maze was becoming ominous and Tristan was thrilled. This was what he thrived in. A place where he was fighting against nature with his skills in order to prove his superiority. Tristan continued trodding forward until a fork in the road was reached. He started carefully observing his surroundings with all his senses when he heard somethin rumbling on the right fork. That rumbling did not sound desirable so he turned to the left and continued there. There was nothing different between the two paths but that rumbling was very telling of danger so he definitely was correct in turning left. He had to stay alert, after all this could be a trap. The maze was too dark, now, and he debated turning on the lights and decided on it. He says lumos and a light at the end of his wand blinks on. He was going to survive this maze and win at any cost. He had to bring honor to his family after all.Action: Turn Left and light lumos

The chamber quickly devolved into pandemonium as more vines and roots began grabbing at the two ensnared students. Charles was rapidly being pulled towards the back wall of the maze which looked ready to bring him in. Evelynn’s spell of Immobulus brought some peace to the chamber as some of the vines were suddenly halted in their path and Charles was given the moment he needed to make his escape. Relying on a bit of strength, Charles ripped the vines that had ensnared him which allowed him to regain his much-desired freedom.
Santario worked quickly to get herself free and thought of the perfect spell to handle the over friendly vines. Diffindo made quick work of the plants that had bound her ankles. But the moment her spell cut through the vines the chamber seemed to change. Any roots or vines not halted by immobulus quickly slithered back into the hedges and there was a momentary silence.Suddenly a loud rumbling would start from the path in which the students had come from.
The hedges behind her suddenly began to close. Roots and vines grabbed and pulled the path closed, cutting off the route back to where they had started. Simultaneously, the dead end’s back wall began to move. The leaves rustled and shifted as they opened up a small doorway. It seemed that the maze was determined to bring her forward and through its new doorway. After the moments of loud movement and rustling, the hedges finally settled.

Noticing the rustling on the path that weaved to the right, Tristan decided he would take his chance with the left path. Taking the left path, the corridor began to weave and turn, getting narrower at every step. Soon the sides of the hedges would be lightly brushing against the girls' shoulders as if they were ready to claim them. But they didn’t. Instead, they would again be faced with a fork and another decision. Left or right. The right path looked to be as narrow as the one they were in, almost overgrown in appearance. The left path opened into a wide path but the fog almost seemed thicker in that direction.

Arjan Oberoi (@Serena Towers)(did not post)
Arjan seemed to hesitate as the maze began to rush forward behind him. Unfortunately, there was no time for the hesitation and darkness would close in around them as they were engulfed in the hedges and rendered immobile for several moments in the temporary prison of leaves and branches. After a few seconds, however, the hedge seemed to open to Arjan’s side offering freedom from the clutches. The maze seemed to have placed Arjan somewhere new and there was little to offer the student any sense of direction. The path in front of him was narrow. Very narrow, it seemed Arjan would need to squeeze through the path to make any sort of progress.

Claiming that she wasn’t afraid of a bit of fog, Vivian decided that she would make a quick decision in travelling forward. Even with the music, it seemed that the young girl was ready to face whatever consequences her decision might hold.
It would be clear that this was not a straight path, it seemed to turn every dozen feet or so making it difficult to see what might be coming up. But the music continued to get louder as they walked. Louder with every step until it felt as though it was right next to them. As the girl rounded a final corner they would find themselves at a dead end. But they were not alone.
Levitating several feet off the ground, an old violin was enchanted to play rather poorly. It was clearly the source of the music. Just below the floating violin, a musty old boot seemed to be dancing around in a circle with the music. It was a party of two with a new guest. The enchanted objects seemed not to mind the visitor, at least for now. But the explorer would have to decide if they wished to further investigate the dead-end or continue on their journey back the way they came.

Alan was quite wary of this maze, moving plants did not sound like an easy feat as he had hopped into the room, ready to help out Santario and admittedly the other boy; no matter how rude he seemed Alan was not one to willingly leave anyone behind in a dangerous situation. However both had been able to somewhat free themselves of the vines; luckily the prefect had Tiger in his arms because Alan now feared for the feline. It would have been bad if those tendrils had grabbed a hold of the small animal because Tiger wouldn't have stood a chance. "Everyone okay?" the Gryffindor asked, still getting over the first shock of the situation, before narrowing his eyes at the exit ahead. "Seems like the vines have chosen our path this time," he muttered as he offered his free hand to Santario to help her get up from the ground.
Surely this was just meant to spook them and had not actually posed any danger towards them. "Maybe they just wanted to drag us through the exit? Perhaps they tried to help," he assumed aloud, in good nature as he inspected the vines, trying to find out whether there was any enchantment on them or if they were naturally sentient, only to find that his lack of herbology knowledge was not helping him out with the situation. "So... let's go?"

The vines were stronger than he originally thought as the blonde pulled aginest them. Each moment that pass that they become tighter, he struggled more picnicking to free himself.
The girl who he didn't know the name of or given a unique nickname to cast the freezing charm on the vines making it easier to pull himself free from the vines. Quickly and panicky as he stepped away from the vines so fast that he nearly fell over.
Turning to the girl who saved him. Savior has a nice to ring to it. Giving her a slight nod as he spoke"thank you," the blonde bow his head a little to her. He was thankful for the act since he was panicking and worried especially since magic wasn't his field of expertise or even average at it.
"alright here, is your beast- uh cat okay there?" Charles asked the boy who choose the path to begin with, melon boy. While he didn't like cats or any animals in general, that didn't mean he wasn't going to ask about the safety of the boys pet especially after he was silently wishing the vines grab it a few minutes earlier.
The path opened up. Charles looked at it and decided not to wait as he smoothed out his jacket and hair then made a run for it. Slipping against the groin and nearly falling as the blonde ran toward the door, desperate to flee that area before the vines came back and attempted to grab him again.

From the tip of her wand, light shot forth, impacting the vines as intended. Much to Evelynn's relief, a great stillness seemed to fall over the dead end as many of the vines ceased their attack. Not only did it serve to help Martin—not that the duelling captain needed it with her expertly cast diffindo—but also the other boy. With the vines stopped, Evelynn watched him struggle and pry himself free, his expression almost sheepish as he emerged and offered his thanks.
"Mn.." she hummed back at him, a nearly silent acknowledgement of his appreciation.
Beneath her lashes of her lidded gaze, Evelynn peered at him in reserved appraisal. By his actions he had defined himself, and she judged him for it. Yet, for all his recent belly-aching, at least he had the humility to offer thanks and as much as she wished to verbally berate him for his utter lack of decorum, she held her tongue. What was it that her gran had often said? If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all...? Something along those lines.
Instead, her gaze slipped past him like oil on water, fixing onto the opening that parted behind him. A glance over her shoulder at the rumbling from behind revealed the closure of the path from whence they'd come. Forced to step into the room lest she herself be caught in the bush as it knitted itself together, Evelynn conceded that they were being corralled. That was fine. They could, of course, attempt to hack their way back through, bush-whacking their way with diffindo after diffindo... but why expel the effort when the path forward could be as effective. The rude boy had already scampered off, she noted, her attention swivelling back around.
"It seems so," she responded calmly to Vanes, simultaneously commenting on both the notion that the four of them were safe, and the fact that their path was evidently chosen for them this time. With a nod, she stepped forward, eyes never ceasing in their effort to sweep the corridor in search of traps or danger as they progressed further into the maze.
"So, Martin," Evelynn chimed, glancing over to the raven-haired girl as they meandered. "How are you feeling about the upcoming duelling matches?"

Alan was ready to give the aggressive vines the benefit of the doubt of their attack, a notion the hedges would no doubt appreciate. Regardless, the path had been decided for the group, the small gathered group of students would oblige and headed through the new doorway. They could still hear the hedge moving and rustling as they passed through the door and onto the new path. Unlike the rest of the maze, most of the fog seemed to have cleared, allowing the group at least some visibility in the dark corridor.
The path would continue for a short while before they would be faced with a new choice. While it seemed like they could continue forward, there was a ten-foot hedge now blocking the path. It seemed like one might be able to climb over it or find a way through it but that was not the only option. The path also had a fork branching into a new path towards the right. There was a small note hanging from the wall to the right path that simply read ‘Watch your Step’.

The Mysterious MazeTristan continued walking, and the corridor began to weave and turn, getting narrower at every step. It got harder and harder, until the hedges seemed to touch his shoulders predicting perhaps a dead end. He had to continue trudging onward , but suddenly the path widened and he finally had to make a choice, the left or the right. The right path looked to be as narrow as the one he was in, almost overgrown in appearance. The left path opened into a wide path but the fog almost seemed thicker in that direction. He deliberated his choices carefully, the right path would perhaps require him to actually physically break down some plants, while the left was less dangerous in some manner. Was fog more dangerous than physical strangulation? Well yes and no? The fog could have some dangerous creatures in it too. Looking back and forth, Tristan decided upon the left path, hesitant but sure that it’s a school activity. After all, the school probably wouldn’t want him hurt tremendously in any case. He was confident in his gait and continued into the fog with a wand at hand, in surety that he would find his way out of this maze.

Scrambling forward away from the murderous vines, Charles nearly face planted in the new path luckily he caught himself at the last possible moment in a clumsily and awkward way.
Standing up and dusting himself off, the blonde would look ahead. The fog wasn't as bad here but remembering his encounter with the vines and how terrible he was at magic, the blonde teen decided to scurry behind the Hogwarts boy with a cat and Hogwarts girl who cast the spell,
it was a strange sight watching the Dumstrang run and hide behind someone especially since he seemed to enjoy insulting others and being a jerk.
"You mates seem average at spell casting so perhaps it would serve best for you two go first, I'll remain back for to aid you of course," Charles would speak in a tinted british accent as he looked from behind them, slowly walking through the path and staying oddly close to them gripping his wand almost like he was ready to throw it instead of cast it. The Dumstrang wasn't known for brains, he was strong and pretty but also not the brightest so...
When the hedge came into view, Charles would slightly tap the gryffindor boy on the shoulder as he spoke"know any spells to continued forward or is going right better?" With certain words, his russian drifting out as his eyes laid on the hedge that blocked their path. Worrying that it mihir reached out and grab him again, the Dumstrang panicked with what to do.
Charles would awkwardly trip over his feet and into the two Hogwarts students, both seemly from gryffindor before falling onto the ground and closer to the hedge. The Dumstrang felt himself gulp before jumping up and running into the new path on the right as fast as he could, not noticing the note or anything else for that matter.

Moving forward through the newly opened passageway, the fog seemed to thin. That really only served to calm some of Evelynn's nerves. Clearly, danger could come from any source, including the very shrubs that kept them so enshrined within this maze; and with their retreat closed off, they were forced to continue forward, further into its heart. Wary of more trouble, gray eyes swept keenly back and forth across the path ahead, pricked for the slightest sign of something off. Every now and then, she'd glance behind as well, not wanting to allow them to be happened upon unwittingly from their flanks. Nothing reared its head as they meandered, however, and eventually they found themselves at a new crossroads.
The way forward was blocked, the hedges rising a good handful of feet above their heads to tease at the edges of the gloom that yet lingered at the periphery. It was out of place. A barrier. It teased at something hidden behind its cover, challenged them to try to force their way through for the discovery that victory might yield. On the other hand... Evelynn swivelled her gaze to the path as it diverted to the right. A message cautioned for them to watch their feet, but for all she knew, it could be a false warning. An attempt to make them balk unnecessarily and goad them towards the more demanding way of the leafy barricade.
As she considered her—their—options, she felt a sudden force against her shoulder. Air blew heavily from her lungs as she lunged forward to catch her step and prevent herself tumbling unceremoniously to the ground. A snap glance behind them yielded no source of attack, nor vision from which to run.
"Mind yourself!" she scolded, turning her attention to the boy as he sprawled embarrassingly before them. It was the foreigner. The obnoxious one who'd spent a good while questioning their abilities only to get himself caught up and in need of their help. In an instant he was off, stumbling all over again, to race down the right-hand path. "Don't be so—"
She trailed off, pursing her lips. He was gone. She'd watch his departing trail for a time, listening for any activity in the wake of his charge. Perhaps he'd trigger one thing or another that might provide them a clue as to what lay along that direction. But for now...
With a subtle shake of her head as though to clear off any contagious impulsivity, Evelynn turned her attention back to the blockade before them. "Well... I don't fancy climbing that..." she mused, considering that while it likely could be done, that didn't necessarily mean it should be done. Last time, there had been a hidden way. Perhaps the same was the case now. With precise movements, she drew her wand aloft, enunciating clearly, "Revelio!", with the hope that perhaps a hidden doorway through might be revealed to them.

Interacting with Boot and violin no one
She walked hesitantly on the path she chose. Till now nothing bad happened and she fortunately didn’t face any danger. Hoping that her decision was right, she tried walking with confidence the path which she thought would be straight but no, it seemed to turn a lot. Her eyes were clouded by the fog which forced her to concentrate on what was ahead of her and she flapped her arms like wings so that she wouldn’t hit her head somewhere.
It was scary to walk in a path alone and that too it was as though she was walking in the middle of clouds, “I should have just shut up and followed the other” she muttered and her heart raced. Even though she didn’t encounter any dangerous creatures yet, it was frightening to know that no one was around her. And the music, she started to hate it. It felt like a piece of background music in a horror movie for her, the volume increasing with every step she took.
Definitely she didn’t like to hear the violin today, she wanted it to stop but she couldn’t so that she just started to shout but rhythmically “AAAAAAAHHHHH.....”, her voice rising with every increase in the music and stopped abruptly when her feet were forced to stop because the dead end. It was such a relief for herself when she stopped screaming my voice is terrible. The violin which was floating in the air was the first thing she noticed, “Shut up! Or else I will... break-” she gasped shortly when she spot the dancing boots. Her jaw dropped a little and she froze for few seconds.
Finally opening her mouth, “Excuse me! Are you an invisible man or are you just a boot which is being spelled on” with her voice being hoarse as the result of shouting and from nervousness? The boots were dancing and she loves to dance. No more scared. it was just her, the boots and the violin. So why not follow the boots steps and dance with them? but from distance. Moreover, there was no one around, so no one would know it and no one is going to make fun of her.
Laughing out loud as she accomplished her secret plan and walked back waving “Bye” to both of her non living friends. Again she flapped her hands and turned whenever it’s necessary, feeling the music gradually diminish. the maze is not scary after all.
