He watched in awe as the water balloon hit its mark, splashing Ming in frigid wetness. It erupted on the boy's white t-shirt and soaked the entire upper half of his body. Strike! Avery leapt up with a fist in the air in victory as the water washed over the red stain on Ming's shirt. As he landed, laughter erupted from the boy's throat, hardly noticing the sinister smile that crept onto his friend's face.

He took some time to survey the battlefield, thinking that Ming might still be in a state of shock of some sort, after being pummeled twice so defenselessly. Next to them was an older blond girl, seemingly calling a truce with an older brown-haired boy. He watched in fascination as she sabotaged their supposed 'truce' a he approached her innocuously, flinging a hidden tomato from her pocket. He dodged with spectacular reflexes and the tomato splashed onto the ground.

Avery chuckled at the sight. They seemed to be a fun pair. Perhaps they'd be alright with him joining the fray with them. He grabbed a tomato from a nearby bin and drew it back for a good toss. "Don't worry, miss, I got you covered!" he shouted as he launched a tomato at Ethen Emrys, hoping that his tomato would be able to find its mark even as hers missed. Who knows if it would hit or not; the older boy looked quite nimble and athletic.

"Now remember, Avery. You asked for this!" Ming's words cut through the action and he realized only too late as he looked up to see a water balloon sailing his way. He could only look at it with widened eyes in surprise and horror.

Another hit. Scarlett couldn't help but smirk as her tomato covered Professor Fresnel's forehead. She also couldn't resist borrowing an idea from Cosmo, and yelling to the teacher, "Nice new hairstyle you've got there, Professor!" At Professor Fresnel's warnings about doubling her homework, Scarlett responded with a shrug. "Bit too late now, isn't it?" she called. "And I'm sure it's against the law or something to make good those little threats, so have fun!" With that, she sauntered away, grinning as another tomato hit the professor - this time from one Charles Alluring. Though she still held a grudge against him for participating in the foul that knocked Gris off her broom in the Quidditch match at the beginning of camp, she appreciated his assistance when he wasn't being dumb.

Anyway, Scarlett jogged over to a random basket of tomatoes, weighing them seperately in her hand, testing them, figuring out which one would hit with maximum juice. She finally found one that felt nice and ripe and squishy, fishing it out of the basket in triumph, sizing up her possible targets-

SPLAT.

Scarlett felt something cold and wet slide down her shirt, down her neck, down her back. She touched the substance curiously - it was...water? Scarlett gaped, having even forgotten water balloons were an option. She turned to see she had been hit by none other than Cosmo Keith, the little minx. Scarlett resisted a smirk. Cosmo had guts. They would need to strike up a prank collaboration after the battle. But the battle wasn't over - not yet. Her opponent had done her a 'favour' by giving her a free wash, but Scarlett would not do the same.

"MAYBE IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH TOMATOES, YOU CAN MAKE A SALAD!" she yelled as she yeeted her tomato at Cosmo. It definitely wasn't her best line - she regarded the I would insult you now, but your face is an insult enough one from the Hogwarts Express crash all those months ago her best - but she was in the heat of combat, so who could blame her?

With a satisfying squwploosh Greta's tomato connected with Charles and the look of surprise and disdain was all the reward she needed for it. His retort and promise for vengeance met empty air. Never staying in a single spot for long, she had quickly departed, leaving behind only a trill of laughter suppressed behind an impish smile. If he thought he'd get vengeance with a bludger, he was sorely mistaken. Quidditch was something she'd regrettably forsaken this time last year. At the behest of her mother, she'd taken up duelling instead.

She hadn't gotten far, though, before karma struck. Right after her toss at Charles, she felt a squeltch against her back. Wheeling around, she spotted Theo who'd made no attempts to conceal his assault. Her mirth vanished, replaced with a pout. The jig was up. Her attempts to dodge his notice had failed, and she'd only managed to sneak in a single attack upon him.

Well, with guerrilla tactics no longer effective, there was really only a single option. Ducking in order to dodge any further incoming projectiles, Greta booked it for the nearest tomatoes to refill her ammo: one to each hand. Then charged. Her clothing was already soiled. There was little use trying to dodge anymore. She'd run only so far out and towards Theo until she had a clean line before taking the shot, shouting, "There no to run!"

Theo could not hold back a grin when his tomato slammed into the back of Greta's Head, staining her hair. No one would hide from this Thunderbird for long! "Gotc-?!" His triumphant moment ended with another tomato hitting his own back. Surprised her turned around to look at the Hogwarts professor who had started the game, who had also apparently just thrown a tomato at him while he had been distracted. Mean!

... Well... alright, maybe he should not be complaining like that, it wasn't like he had done it any different.
And again he was distracted, only brought back into reality by Greta's shouting that there was 'no to run'. Laughing he ran away, grabbing a water bomb on the way. "Let's see about that!", he shouted back, trying to not stand in one spot for too long and aim at the Durmstrang girl at the same time.

It really relieved him a bit to see her like this. Cheerful, not as wary as normally. The last times he had seen her, she had seemed very careful that no one would see them. He had carefully placed the ribbon in his trunk, made sure that he wouldn't forget it here when they all went back home. If he only got a moment to talk to her...

Zoë barely made it safely behind Eliseo as she felt the excess water from an attack mist over her. No doubt that balloon had been intended for her but Eliseo graciously took the brunt of the impact. She had to know who was out to get her. She needed to add names to her list if she was going to put her entire self into this war.

Peeking out from behind Eliseo’s shoulder, Zoë narrowed her eyes on the field as she saw Cassandra looking their way. A fellow snake?! That couldn’t be right...Surely she wasn’t trying to hit Zoë...Pursing her lips together, Zoë was about to run to a barrel of tomatoes as a heavy balloon exploded onto her face drenching her upper body in water as her eyes opened wide in shock.

Letting out a sharp exhale as the frigid water sank into her clothing, Zoë quickly turned to the direction of the attack as an unfamiliar student, presumably from another school, was staring back at her. “Lucky shot…” She mumbled to herself as she playfully shook her head.

Once more lost in thought on the battlefield, Zoë stumbled back as a tomato impacted her on the forehead, erupting juice all over her. “Euughh!” Zoë scoffed as she completely ducked behind Eliseo to not get surprised anymore. Looking down at her stained white shirt and shoes she immediately felt foolish wondering why she hadn’t chosen to wear all black but luckily her brown flannel, for the most part, seemed to be in salvageable condition with only small spatterings of tomato juice on it.

Scarlett’s snide remarks made it to Zoë’s ears as she knew that that last direct hit had come from the fiery redhead. She wanted to send another tomato at Scarlett but sometimes the best attacks were the unexpected ones as Zoë decided to leave that rivalry sit for a moment. Thinking through her options, Zoë thought there couldn’t be any harm in attacking an exchange student especially in the mess of things, how would he know who sent the tomato in his direction?

He had clearly attacked her for no reason so it only seemed right to repay the welcome to their school. Quickly racing over to one of the barrels, Zoë pulled out a large overripe tomato as she weighed it in her hands getting used to its floppy weight as her eyes found the boy out on the field. “Try this on for size…” Zoë chided as she sent the tomato sailing through the air at her target.

In order to get the shot perfect, the Charms professor had to leave the safety of Eliseo’s cover but hopefully, her temporary courage would prove to be worth it.

The putrid smell of tomato still lingered on Atlas’ clothes and hair as her face contorted in disgust causing her to contemplate the time it would take to jump in the lake before returning to battle. Tomatoes were a nasty choice of ammunition as no matter what instance they were plopped in, they egregiously made themselves known. Ruining sandwiches, tacos, and now her...there was no telling the damage these buggers could get away with.

Atlas’ betrayal shot would have perfectly assaulted her boyfriend once more but just as her shot was about to land, Ethen had sensed her nefarious act and dramatically dodged out of the way. An unsatisfying splat sounded out as her tomato smushed into the grass. “Oooo I didn’t not expect you to be so spooked, Tebo!” Atlas quipped as she wasted no time in reloading her ammunition.

Turning on her heels, Atlas booked it to the nearest barrel as she looked in to see it half full with water balloons. “Weak ammo…” She scoffed, scrunching her nose as she placed one water balloon in her hoodie pocket for later, quickly turning back to Ethen as she zoned in on his location.

“Time to wash the deserter off of you Major! You are better than dodging!” Atlas continued to taunt as she gripped the second water balloon tightly in her grasp before winding up her arm and sending it sailing for Ethen. Part of her wondered if the two would be able to put aside their playful differences and attack a common target but unless someone threatened either of them it didn’t seem like this heart-wrenching warfare would cease.

As Ethen dove and rolled away from the heinous assault that Atlas levied against him, he narrowed his eyes at the girl. His damp clothes picked up some dirt to add to his disheveled appearance. “Oh please. I am not afraid of a traitor,” Ethen spat back at his girlfriend. “I am just prepared for your attacks now. You have nothing on me!” He began to laugh maniacally but deep down he knew he was still at a disadvantage against the girl. To make matters worse, there didn’t appear to be any unspent ammunition right next to him to mount a counterattack.

Out of the corner of his eye, Ethen also saw an unfamiliar younger student getting ready to pelt him. It seemed that he was in a dire situation. “Attacked by two! Atlas to think you would need an ally to bring me down. I’m not that easy to stop. I thought you could handle a scrap on your own,” Ethen taunted before squatting down.

He could see Atlas fetching a water balloon and knew he had only moments to respond before he would be in a crossfire. He could try to stand and fight. It seemed like an honorable way to be taken down, but he was not sure it was his time to be slain. He still had fight in him but knew he had to find a more advantageous position. But his time was up, he needed to move and wanted to try catching his attackers off guard.

Springing forward, Ethen began somersaulting across the field. It was more of an awkward fast pact roll but in Ethen’s mind it was an elusive maneuver that would allow him to evade his would be attackers. He hated needing to run but once he found some ammo, he would get his revenge on Atlas. Although part of him still hoped that they were still on for their little even date under the stars. But if he was to be slain before that. He would accept his fate on the path to Valhalla.

Charles watched his water balloon fly through the air then it seemed at the perfect moment, hit the Hogwarts professor in the face. Soaking her with water and wanting the blonde to go back for seconds. Who knew how much fun this could be? Throwing things at Hogwarts professors and getting away with it...

"You'll be covered with tomato juice soon to," Charles shouted toward the Hogwarts professor with a half grin as he armed himself with another water balloon and eyed the field. Who to target next?

"Red- Scarlett Aden now then?" Charles asked his partner in this war, Cash Ironwoods and would wait for their agreement before he would give them a slight nod and line up his arm with his target.

Looking at Scarlett Aden with a half grin as he held the large water balloon in his held, ready to throw it at the girl hoping to soak her in skin numbing water when another sound- voice took him from his moment.

The Hogwarts professor

It seemed she was targeting him. Charles had made himself a target of the Hogwarts professors it seems well then the blonde wasn't one to back down from a challenge and welcomed a professor to try to hit him as be aimed his water balloon for Scarlett Aden.

Eliseo gave a short laugh as his attack successfully connected with the visiting student. It had been too easy. With the students all distracted attacking each other, it was proving quite easy to beam them with tomatoes. If only he were allowed to do this throughout the year. Then students would think twice about causing mischief around the grounds. But at least he had his small moment to blast them with tomato guts and he was not about to squander such a beautiful moment.

He watched curiously as his dearest Zoë scurried behind him. While he did not exactly like the idea of being used as a shield, he could not protest. He would do what he could to be the woman’s shield. It was the least he could do for having her put up with his strange personality. Distracted in his mind, however, he did not see Cassandra’s attempt to attack Zoë. By the time he knew what was happening, it was too late. At the very least, he proved that he was a very successful shield as he graciously took the hit and grumbled at the cold water now covering him. “You are going to owe me for this,” Eliseo chuckled at Zoë as he wiped some of the water from his face.

But his career as a shield was short lived. Eliseo had to strain to not break out in laughter as Zoë was hit in the face with a water balloon and tomato. He knew the woman hated getting her clothes messy but there was no denying how comical it was hearing her get hit. He could feel Zoë hunkering behind him a bit closer so he kept his snickering to a minimum as he watched for a target.

Deciding not to take revenge on his attacker, Ethen decided he would use his last remaining tomato on his first victim. Checking the tomato weight in his hand, he smirked as he hurled it towards the young Scarlett. He had nothing against the girl, but someone had to be the victim of his tomato rampage against the youths.

@Eliseo Cespedes attacking @Scarlett Aden - Success

The bloodlust of the Groundskeeper had no limits. It seemed he was unwilling to allow the students to enjoy their war free of his smiting! With a lumpy tomato as his weapon, the great Groundskeeper found his victim. Scarlett had been hard at work with her own keen attacks but it seemed that old man Eliseo was ready to bury her under tomato goop. Launching a tomato with great speed, he connected with Scarlett in the back. The tomato exploded and added to the mess that was already coating the girl. It remained to be seen if anyone would halt the reign of terror that Eliseo was continuing.
Charles Alluring (iNPC @Henry Knight) attacking Scarlett Aden - Success

Poor Scarlett would not just have to face down the tomato hurled at her by the groundskeeper. It seemed that Charles was also hunting the young redhead. Still coordinating with his ally, Charles was ready to douse Scarlett with some cold water. He was proving to be quite tactical in his choices and found Scarlett distracted with other things. His throw was a terribly wobbly toss but it wouldn’t matter. The water balloon found its mark and hit Scarlett on the shoulder. Water would erupt over her, cleaning some of the fresh tomato juice off but leaving a chill.
@Scarlett Aden epically yeeting at @Cosmo Keith - Success

Before being pelted by two projectiles, Scarlett had some of her own vengeance to dish out. Cosmo had messed with her gucci yolo swag and Scarlett wasn’t about to let such a thing be forgotten. No, she would do what she did best. Showing that a lit trend never dies, she yeeted a tomato into the air. It sailed forth like it was about to lay down a hit new single. But instead, the tomato crashed into the side of Cosmo’s head sending chunks of tomato flying in every direction as Scarlett scored a fine hit. Any who attack her should fear the yeeting power of Scarlett!
Theodore Duncain (iNPC @Opeila Winters) attacking Greta Fransson (iNPC @Evelynn Decipio) - Failed

Theodore was on the prowl! They seemed ready to blast the young Greta with a water balloon to show their dominance and power. Surely Theodore would prove to be a force to be reckoned with. However...As Theodore was about to throw the water balloon, he would step on a squashed tomato that caused his leg to slide. Losing balance, Theodore would slip and fall forward onto the ground while hit tomato sailed harmlessly onto the ground. It was about as ungraceful as a throw could possibly be.
Greta Fransson (iNPC @Evelynn Decipio) attacking Theodore Duncain (iNPC Opeila Winters) - Success

With Theodore flopping to the ground like a fish, it seemed that Greta would have an easy time scoring an attack. She was quite right that there would be nowhere for Theodore to run. If anything the boy might just slip on another tomato. But armed and ready, Greta launched a beautiful throw. The tomato sailed through the air with a slight arc that would bring it right down on the top of Theodore’s head. It gave the boy a nice hat of tomato guts and juice. Perhaps there would still be time for Theo to redeem himself.
@Atlas Reid attacking @Ethen Emrys - Failed

Atlas was proving to be a ruthless hunter of her boyfriend. It seemed nothing would stop her from drowning the boy in balloons and tomatoes. Unless Major Emrys still had some tricks up his sleeve. Just as Atlas launched a perfectly aimed shot, Ethen began what appeared to be some evasive maneuvers of his own. Rolling across the battlefield, looking like a rollie pollie, Ethen was able to evade Atlas’ vicious attack. His evasion might have worked that time. But Atlas had already proved that she had a good arm when needed and if her hunt continued, how long could Ethen roll to safety?
@Zoë Fresnel attacking Charles Alluring (iNPC @Henry Knight) - Success

Zoë had a rough few seconds as a combined front of students had all launched attacks at her. Sure she was attacking them but she had been unprepared for the attacks against her. But hiding behind the Groundskeeper, Zoë was ready to start getting a bit of revenge on those who attacked her. Starting with the one issuing all types of commands. She considered the unfamiliar boy the ring leader. Mounting all of her strength, Zoë launched a thick and juicy tomato towards Charles who had turned his attacks to another student. The tomato would find the boy’s ear, erupting on the side of Charles’ head to give him a fresh coat of tomato juice.
@Avery Chen attacking Ethen Emrys - Success

While Ethen was doing his strange rolling around the field to avoid being hit. Avery was out to prove that he could hit a moving target as he came to give Atlas some backup. Perhaps a new alliance was forming with the goal of eliminating Ethen! Regardless, Avery zeroed in on his target and launched a tomato with pristine accuracy. Midroll, Ethen would be smacked in the side of the head with the tomato. The juice and bits of mushy tomato would cover Ethen’s face only adding to the mess that was slowly consuming him.
@Hui Ming attacking Avery Chen -Success

Attacking targets who were distracted seemed to be one of the more effective strategies out on the field and young Ming would take advantage of that. As Avery was entirely focused on attacking another student, Ming was poised to make a perfect strike. With a hefty water balloon, Ming would launch an attack on his friend. The balloon sailed through the air as a near perfect throw. Avery would be smacked in the forehead by the balloon which drenched his face and chest with frigid water. It seemed that Ming had a talent for attacking the unsuspecting but how would Avery react to the strike?
