GALIM'S DESK
@Opeila Winters
It had never occurred to Maya that sometimes someone's past may not be something they want to hold onto. The students' question rattled in her mind. There were two ways she could approach this situation: 1) tell her that things happen no matter what and give her the tough love that she deserved or 2) let it go and drop her words of wisdom. Maya, unlike her, went with the latter. There was something about this child that made her not want to be an intimidating witch.
It seemed that more information was shared than was asked. According to Maya, this was a way children asked for help. They would share tidbits of information, allowing the adult to piece them together. Maya did, but she did not know what to do with said information. Does she act on it right away or let them simmer?
Immediately the child looked like they wanted to leave. They thanked her after they got up. Maya couldn't help but to smile back at the student, unknown of what they were truly feeling. She thought she was helping, but perhaps she only made things worse. She figured what was best was to have Opeila leave on her own accord and if she needed anything else, she was more than welcome to come back into her classroom and office.
Maya, staying quiet, would watch the girl leave when she was ready.

GALIM'S DESK
Cynthia had never enjoyed muggle studies, but she found the need to ask Professor Maya Galim a question. She would have asked Professor Zahid, but recently he was replaced by ‘Doc’; she would have asked Professor Iwasaki, someone she trusted, but someone who still did not seem like an expert on the subject; she would have asked Professor Horne or Professor Fresnel, simply because she liked them and the subjects they teach. But, no, in the end, Professor Galim seemed to be the best choice.
She had never interacted with the Professor before. She had never set foot in her office, nor had she ever set foot in the Muggle Studies classroom. But times change, and things have changed with them. Cynthia yelped as she saw the large black font on the door, saying ‘Remember who you are.’ It had surprised her so! Many students turned around, and some started to giggle, but she ignored them and tapped on the door.
Rat tat tat.
Then again.
Rat tat tat.
Cynthia mentally rehearsed what she was going to say, ‘Hello Professor Galim. You probably don’t know me, since I’m not old enough for an elective yet as a first year, but my name is Cynthia Beaufort, and I am a first year Ravenclaw. I have a question for you if you don’t mind me asking.’ Was that too long? Never mind that, just focus. If the Professor was going to open the door, she sure would be nervous.
@Maya Galim, permission granted to godmod Cynthia to say what she rehearsed in her mind out loud once invited inside. She would likely be extremely nervous while saying this.
