How dare she flipendo my beautiful self!? This is unacceptable! “OOH! Hit me some more! I love the pain!” That will surely cause the slytherin girl to attack more rather than stopping. Either way, this was a combat that he needed to win just so he could brag to the Carrington hag on how amazing he is.

Alexander knew one thing in his heart of hears, and that was that he hated the Curse of the boogies. It was just so annoying !!!!! It clogged up his eyes and occluded his vision, whilst creating a terrible headache. He could barely even move from the sheer hammering on his skull.
Alexander had to gather himself, wiping away the large amount of snot coming out of his nose and preventing a large part of his breathing. He then saw how the situation on the battlefield had rapidly changed. Thus Alex harshly muttered something below his breath before jumping back into action.

INTERACTIONS: Guest Team
Right, it was time to end this. There had been enough ducking and running about like chickens with their heads cut off. Jan already had his sights set but the matter of executing it was another problem altogether. The Vipers had proved to be more formidable than he had thought at first as he ran his hand through his hair. Personally, the boy despised running, dodging, hidng behind others, it was all the signs of someone in sheep's clothing, someone scared of real conflict as his fingers trailed the exterior of his wand as he settled into his mood. "Time to have some real fun." He announced as he slid into his spot nodding to himself. It was an art he had perfected over time and he was not about to be beaten in a sport by a bunch of kids though he wasn't far off from their age. Still, dueling was one thing he prided himself in and that he wasn't going to let that go down the drain no matter what.
He glanced around to make sure the rest of his team was holding up well. Some of them had taken the brunt of the damage and they were in battered shape but holding up just fine. He knew that while they could hold their own, everyone had a breaking point and the Vipers were honing in on that. He had to find their flaw and expose it before they did that. Everyone had a weak link, he just had to find who it was on the other side and send a clear message. They were not going to be tossed around like toys as his expression grew serious nodding to himself. "Right, let's get this show on the road." Hopefully, it would go as he was imagining, it would be quite embrassing if his genius tactics blew up in his face. All bark and no bite, they would say and that was something that Jan was not. He knew what his intentions were and he would carry through wit them as he inhaled taking a deep breath.

Illowy was starting to get frustrated, not that she was about to let that show. For just two seconds could that girl just hold still? Honestly, why drag out the inevitable, sooner or later the girl was going to get knocked out. At least let it be done quickly and with some dignity. At the very least things were starting to get interesting and the other team was starting to fire back.
Well, until Bridget was hit and knocked to the back a couple spaces away from herself. That she certainly wasn't a fan of. Her focus strayed just a moment to ensure that her friend was alright, watching the girl straighten herself out and shake off the blow. Not that Illowy was terribly worried, not when it came to Bridget. She knew better that the other snake was more then capable of pressing on.
Nevertheless, time to press on. Illowy brought her focus back to the game, eyes flickering about for the best options.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Santario had hoped a nice placed Flipendo would have made the kid shut up and put his head in the game. No, no, clearly, he thought this was a joke running his mouth further. Only, the thing that came out of his mouth made her simultaneously want to vomit and Flipendo herself off the astronomy tower. He likes pain? Be careful what you wish for.

Asking for communication didn't work. That was disappointing to say the least, but at Alisa could say that she had tried later, not that that would do them any good if they lost. Still, if team strategy was largely out of the picture, she needed to make as good of an´mopression as possible. Make Durmstrang proud. Show her cousins, show her best friend - who was hopefully watching. Melina would stand by her anyway.RPing as iNPC Alisa Sokolova.
Alisa would try to be a one man army, then. It's not like she hadn't taken on multiple opponents at once.

Once again, a staggering series of evasive maneuvers would take place upon the chess field. On the Slytherin side, Santario fired a Flipendo aiming at Rodion, yet her spell veered off course towards Karilyna instead, and was ultimately dodged. Ileen mirrored her move, casting Flipendo at Rodion, though this was dodged. Illowy managed to send a particularly potent Ventus blowing towards her oppoenents, though her target, Karilyna, was far too fast on her feet. On the opposite side, Milosh aimed a Petrificus Totalus at Ileen, Karilyna sent a crackling Incendio Duo towards Alexander, and Jan sent a twin burst of fire hurtling towards Bridget, yet all were evaded. The only spell which would strike its target this round was cast by Rodion, who succeeded in striking Santario with Flipendo.
Amidst the chaos, Alexander- Slytherin's queen piece- was actively on the lookout for spells. He dodged Karilyna's Incendio Duo with speed and grace. Bridget managed to move to B3, while Alisa on the opposite team appeared momentarily distracted, or perhaps overwhelmed, standing still. Pericles paced his edge of the field, frowning in intense focus while he watched on. Slytherin seemed to have a solid strategy, yet their international opponents had thus far inflicted more damage as a whole. Perhaps the tides would change and the Hogwarts duellists would make a dramatic comeback down the line, or maybe, their guests had gotten the jump on them....

As the duel progressed, Santario was becoming disparaged; so much was flying through her head, distracting her. She was trying to keep her own head in the game, and this dumb asshole pissing her off with his comments. San wanted him to just play the damn game and stop running his mouth so she could think. God, why were they even having these games after what happened to those poor kids? Why were they sitting here doing this when there were so many other essential things to be doing.
[“Don’t forget to choke on it, Santario! You don’t deserve your captaincy!”] In French
A familiar voice cut through the din of her thoughts, and her sapphire eyes snapped up to meet the green hues of her cousin Angél. Why did she have to show up? Santario snapped her eyes forward and scowled as she cast at Rodion. Only, that is not the direction her spell went. Santario stared in disbelief as her spell flew dangerously between Bridget and Alisa, only to also miss Karilyna.
Maybe she didn’t deserve this position after all. Maybe the whole year had been a fluke.

There was just one thing to do: move back into position. It didn't take much thought, and while, naturally, she checked if there was any place better for her to move, she determined the best course of action was to provide Alexander cover from Karilyna.
Only one spell was aimed at her this time, but the step forward meant she was just barely behind two more. The first was Karilyna's jet of flames; that one she wondered if she should have sped up for, tried to jump in front of, but even without shields Alexander proved able to avoid getting hit. That spell's heat, not far in front of her face, was increased by more fire, this time intended to catch on her. She was ready for it, side-stepping the promise of fiery pain, no doubt aided in that she didn't have to split her attention between dodging and casting this round.
The third? This spell had not been expected. She knew at least one spell would come from the line of opponents down the center of the board, and she knew Karilyna's spell would fly past around the time she stepped forward. The spell coming from her right was what caught her by surprise. She instinctively leaned back, though the Flipendo probably wouldn't have hit her anyhow, if barely. It flew off the board somewhere near Karilyna. It took a moment to identify the spell's source because spells shouldn't have been coming from that direction, but Santario's expression made it obvious. She wasn't sure what was worse, backfiring or having a spell miss so terribly, and her teammate had experienced both in the span of a few rounds. "I think I deserved that," she joked, referencing their last duel where she'd managed to hit her instead of Nicholas, hoping to help Santario get out of her own head. It was a bad place to be, rarely helpful.
Despite doing her best to keep spirits up, her own included, she was feeling the tension. This wasn't exactly going well. They were not yet losing, they weren't down any players. They just couldn't seem to get anything to work, very few of their spells hitting. And misses were frustrating. But they couldn't let that get to them. The Viridian Vipers had won the season and that had not been a breeze. From that, they knew how to fight for victory. Today was no different--the game had changed and the opposition was new, but the need to keep trying, to refuse to yield, was the same. They had not come here to lose.
