Earlier this morning an owl had visited Hildegard with a gift from her parents, it was a magical item capable of playing radio stations.
Pleasured by this gift the little witch had decided to use it while eating her breakfast at the Great Hall.

Once everything was ready for a relaxing time the girl used the small device, she already knew what she would listen to.
The girl putted her pumpkin juice on the side while putting her new device on the "Wizarding Wireless Network" station.
Like almost all wizard-born and pure-blood Hildegard knew this station, she liked the music they played in it and was ready to enjoy it on that day.
As there was not much people in the Great Hall she putted the volume a bit louder, and took back her pumpkin juice, just listening to the voice that talked.

-Welcome back to... Witching Hour !, your favorite wizarding program ! Feeling depress and tired ? No problems ! Let's get that away with... some good old Weird sister music !

-Kinda old but still good I guess, she said out loud to herself .

She started taking food from here and there around the table, ploughman's, some fries and some 2 chocolate frogs, that was a copious breakfast for sure, Hildegard told herself that it was to celebrate her gift.

Avery dragged his feet into the Great Hall that morning, feeling like he had just battled a tiger in his sleep. Procrastinating on his readings and write-ups had not been a healthy habit he was sinking in to. If he was going to keep up his grades, he needed to regain focus on his academics and catch up on the Chinese homework his parents assigned him.

Hair unkempt and shirt untucked, he sank into a seat at the table and poured himself some milk. He knew he should eat to get his energy up, but he was too tired to eat.

From somewhere down the table, he heard the rattle of a radio and the voice of a peppy radio host. "Feeling depress and tired?" Yes, he was. "No problems! Let's get that away with... some good old Weird Sister music!" His ears perked up as he heard the energetic rock music carry through the hall.

"Move your body like a hairy troll,
Learning to rock and roll.
Spin around like a crazy elf,
Dancin' by himself."

Heyy, that was catchy! "Kinda old but still good I guess", he heard someone say to themselves. He glanced around and found Hildegard sitting midway down the table, with a feast set in front of her and a small device on the table. The music seemed to be coming from that device. He grabbed his milk and plopped down in the seat next to her.

"What is this thing?" he asked curiously, staring at the device. "Is it like a wizarding radio?" Somehow, the more he listened, the more he felt alive. The broadcaster seemed to be right about solving his "tired" problem.

Schneider turned around, it was the voice of Avery, of course he would be interested ! Music was his thing from what Hildegard could understand, so of course the boy would b e interested in wizard's music !

-Hey Avery she greeted.

She got her wand out, and used the levitation charm she recently learnt.

-wingardium leviosa, the witch said.

the small device started to float slowly coming closer to her friend as Schneider agitated her wand, she stopped when it was close enough to him.

-I don't know about Muggle's things, but I think it inspired by what you call radio indeed !

-There is lots of wizarding objects that take roots in the Muggle world from what I heard
She added.

She took something to eat quickly letting the time to Avery to have a closer look and said :

-My parent gave it to me this morning, it can play some wizarding station. Oh tell me, how do you find this song ? It's a classic from the 90s, that's what we used to listen to in the Wizarding World.

Hildegard really appreciated Avery Chen, and that moment she wanted to make him laugh, just for the sake of it.

She smiled to him, then took her wand yet again pointing it to the nearby empty chair.

-Tarantallegra

As the chair started to dance she commented,

-Look even the chair like it !

Chairs always seemed like the perfect fit for this spell.

Avery watched as the device levitated towards him. "You're really getting the hang of these spells, Hilda," he said as the device landed neatly into his hands. "You'll have to help me practice sometime!" He studied the device and felt the sound waves pulsing through it. He turned a knob a little and the volume increased.

He listened to the song that she said was a classic from the 90s. "It's a pretty lively punk rock song. The band totally has a lot of energy!" He listened to the lyrics some more. "What is a hippogriff? Does it look like a hippo?" he asked, thinking he knew what a hippo looked like, but what was a griff? Maybe if he knew what it was, he'd know what kind of dance the hippogriff would do. He picked up a scone and began to chew on it, now that his appetite was coming back to him.

He laughed in amusement as Hilda enchanted a nearby chair so that it danced in step with the beat of the hippogriff song. Haha, even the chair liked it! His morning sleepiness seemed to all but fade away. Who knew that wizarding music could be so bewitching?

So, if a hippogriff looked like a hippo, what would it do? He got up to dance with the chair. Maybe it was a big, fat, lumbering animal? He puffed out his cheeks and bent his knees, spreading his legs wide and holding out his arms out so that they bent at the elbows, and stomped with the chair to the beat. He must've looked quite a silly sight, but he was having too much fun imagining what a hippogriff would look like to care.

-Oh thank you ! Charm is my favorite class, and i practiced the wand movement and all before coming in Hogwarts. She replied to the boy.

-A Hippogriff is a half giant eagle half horse creature, it's similar to a Griffin but the Griffin is part giant eagle and part lion. You can ride and fly with both but I think it's more dangerous with Griffin because they are part lions. Hildegard added.

When Mister Chen started his little dance out of amusement, the way he danced was so funny that she spitted the juice she was drinking and laughed right away.

-S..Sorry it was too funny ! HAHAHAHA She admitted laughing.

At that moment she was envious that he could dance, she even would do that funny dance there right now if she could, even if she would have a little embarrassment doing so.

-I did not know you were this good at dancing Avery ! I wish I could dance with you ! She said amused.

As the song was ending she changed of station to get a song which was more recent and in the middle of playing, wanting to make the Muggle-born discover more about Wizard music.

-You can borrow the device from time to time if you want to ! I don't mind it. She offered to the musician.

-It might be useful to you if you want to play in those concert we organize in Hogwarts. She continued.

Wow, Hilda even practiced all her wand movements before she came to Hogwarts. Avery was impressed. Maybe he would've thought to go over his textbooks in a little bit more detail instead of merely glancing at the contents page and skimming some interesting topics if he hadn't been practicing violin like crazy up until summer camp.

During his 'hippo' dance, he smiled and laughed as Hilda spat out her juice in laughter, dodging a bit to avoid the spray, not that he really cared if he showed up to his morning class with a few specks of orange on his shirt. "Thank you!" he said proudly, "Even though I guess I got it wrong, since hippogriffs are technically horse-eagles like you said." What would that look like? A flapping of the arms while rearing back with one leg in the air? He would've gone on, but the song ended and pretending to be a hippo was tiring. By now, he had worked up his appetite.

He plopped back down in his seat and munched on his scone as the radio played a more modern pop-like song.

"Thanks, Hilda," he said, as she offered to let him borrow it. "Maybe I can even find a classical music channel just to see what that would sound like." He wondered if children in the magical world practiced music differently? Would it be considered cheating if they had magical instruments, if they existed? So much to wonder about. "It would be great if I could find a musical violin or something, so I can fool my parents into thinking I've been practicing this entire semester," he sighed wistfully. "I'm really behind." He really hadn't been practicing as much as he liked, with all his recent antics like cooking hot pot, exploring the castle, practicing flying and getting so intrigued by everything Hogwarts. He almost to shuddered to think what it would be like if he went home over the winter and his parents found out that he had not only improved, but worsened this semester. Just the thought of it made him worry.

Hildegard was listening to Avery's words, the boy looked like he enjoyed speaking of this, but all this talk made her realize that they may be late for class.
Not that much late for the average walker but definitely late for someone as slow as the Slytherin witch.
Since she was not sure about it she needed to look at the time, so Hildegard took the whistle that she used to train in transfiguration.
By a dexterous movement of hand she pointed her wand on it, casting the transfiguration spell she had learnt.

-Tunc Sibilus

The whistle transformed into a watch successfully and upon reading the hour, Hildegard's behavior slightly switched.

-Hey Avery ! It's almost time for our potion class ! I have to go or I might not make it. You're faster so I think you will be fine. She told him while getting up.

She noticed that the device was still on Avery's hand and he was still passionate about it so she added :

-Please don't forget to give it back, tomorrow or the day after is fine ! Someday we should practice charm together indeed ! I don't mind that at all ! She said smilling.

-Oh and you should check out the Frog Choir ! Hogwart's choir, I'm sure you'll get some good stuff about music with them. She mentioned last.

With that she started to leave the Great Hall.

He snapped back to reality as Hildegard glanced at her whistle-watch and saw the time. Yikes, it was getting a bit later than he thought it would be. He looked at the half-finished scone in his hand and his glass half-full of milk. If he had some time, he'd probably go for an egg as well. And some fruit. Now that his appetite had come back to him.

"Bye, Hilda, take your time!" he said to the girl, as she got up to leave. "Thanks for the radio thing! Yes, I'll give it back to you soon. I'll probably want to tinker with it in the common room once I have some time," he said, waving to her. Hilda was actually a very nice girl, despite her fear of muggles and dislike of Ming. Perhaps the two would get along some day, but Avery doubted it would be anytime soon, given their history. That's a pity. It would be great if all the Slytherin first-years got along, but life was life and always turbulent and interesting.

Frog choir? What in the world was that? He made a mental note to check it out as watched the girl head to class. Did they train frogs to sing, or did they sing like frogs? Contemplating that, he finished his scone in a few big bites and cracked open a hard-boiled egg, then found that it was a bit hard to chew on its own. He stuffed some juicy grapes and cantaloupe into his mouth to help it go down faster. It was about time for him to head out, too. He put the device in his bag and hurried to class.
