Second Impressions PV Rosemary Ethel Closed

The classes had finally ended for the day, at least for Professor Cazarez in the History of Magic room. Students filed out and he waved them on as he stood in the doorway. Sebastián had the whole evening in front of him with no plans as of yet. He quietly wondered if he had become boring since leaving Gringott's for Hogwarts. His social life was at nearly zero it seemed lately as other teachers were so serious about their classes, recent events, or simply not close friends with him yet. The first year teaching was probably always like that for newer teachers. Though there seemed to be a good amount of newer teachers this year he could befriend who were likely in a similar situation. Students were friendly and some seemed dedicated but they were certainly not to his maturity level.

One thing was still on his mind from the other day: Flower Crowns. It was less to do with the adorable little creations themselves and more on what he saw that day. In the same vein of thought, he had tried to befriend a fellow teacher. Failure was one way to describe the attempt. The Spanish attitude deep in his soul caused his greeting to me more of a flirt. Ridicule followed from a few teachers, though it was mostly in good fun. Nonetheless, it was a bit shameful. Normally this would cause no pain to the History of Magic Professor. He could have fun and laugh at himself. Something was different about this one. That potions professor had caught his attention. She was always someone he admired from afar without much thought to it. After meeting her and being a fool as a first impression he was mortified.

Que horror... He thought to himself as he considered how terrible it had been. She must think me a fool now.

The last student made it out of the classroom with a polite 'adios' to Professor Cazarez. He gave a nod back and a genuine smile at the child's attempt to use the language. Some tried and he was unsure if it was respect for himself or sucking up for grades. Maybe a bit of both was at play. Today he didn't care to analyze the student. Rosemary Ethel could not get out of his mind. Never in his life had Sebas struggled so much to even talk to a woman. Yet somehow she was different. When he thought of her he became nervous, ashamed, and somehow excited. Deep down he knew he had to make a better impression on her. It was his new mission in life and he wasn't even sure why. Sure she was beautiful and clearly intelligent. She even had a sense of dry humor that he liked from what he saw so far. Sebas had liked girls, he loved girls. The Spaniard in him considered himself a heartthrob for the women of the world. It always came easy for him if he wanted to impress someone.

"Professor Ethel," he said to himself, out loud. "What did I do?"

Almost as if by... magic... she appeared. He doubted she would have heard him, but she had just come up the stairs next to his room. Where was she headed? He wondered to himself as he spotted her exit the stairs. There wasn't even a chance for her to indicate where she was heading before he raising two fingers in greeting to her. A soft smile on his face.

"Profesora!" Sebastián said loudly for her to hear, hoping to catch her quickly. "Do you have a moment?"

An outward appearance of calm, confident, and collected was all of his focus while inner turmoil bit at him. He did not want another bad impression. He would strive to fix the last one if possible. At least she had not seemed terribly displeased with his existence after the flower crown incidents. Hopefully, she did not think poorly of him. Only time could tell. Sebastián would deny it if asked, but he was quickly falling for the woman he used to dislike for taking his desired position. Whether or not she would feel the same was not on his mind yet, but his denial wouldn't last long.

Sebastián's heart beat quicker as he called out. His pupils dilated and he had a slight sweat starting but it wouldn't be visible yet. Each second that passed was an eternity for him as his mind raced with thoughts on what he would say to her. This was a new challenge for the Spaniard who had never been in a serious relationship. He did not know how to like a female without being flirty, uncaring, selfish, and misogynistic. He had a lot of growing to do, but if he was lucky, she would be the fuel he needed to do so.
