Time had passed and the sun would slowly start to set as the colors of pink and orange would stretch over the horizon in a soft evening glow. It was about 9 pm when groups of students had been called and sorted into groups of three by none other than Alan, who had worked on fun games to make a reward for those that had shown exceptional work despite the summer break.
"Alright so the game plan is simple, you start by entering the first area that you can see over there," Alan explained as he pointed toward a big tent that stood on the Ground, obscured by soft evening mist and perhaps a few magic tricks. The big tent stretched across a big part of the grounds, yet if the group were to enter it, they would find themselves in but a little room. "Throughout this little, well, adventure, you will be awarded with tokens after having fulfilled some tasks and challenges. I will leave you to yourself to figure out any clues and challenges, but am here for making sure things go smoothly and for answering questions about the mechanics," he further explained, leaving what the specific tasks would entail in the shadows so that the students may be surprised by what would expect them. A light smile curled over his lips as he mentioned for the students to approach the tent.
If they were to push aside the opening of the tent, they would enter a small room that seemed a little crowded. A wooden floor stretched past the students and a few dusty book shelves would frame some of the walls, though stacks and piles of books that have been used to build towers on the ground, seem to catch the eye even more. A little lantern would swing from the ceiling , ready to be grabbed, as well as a two oil lamps that had been placed on a wooden stool. Those two would shine a soft light onto a small scroll, sealed with a red wax seal. Ominously it would wait there, for a student to go ahead and open what was written inside. A quill lay beside it, with a fresh inkwell as an old gramophone sitting sitting in a corner of the room would play soft music in a jazzy tune. For those that would look around more carefully, they'd notice how the majority of the books had something, anything to do with the world of magical creatures.
If students were to break the seal and open the scroll they would be greeted with the following letter:For an unknown reason, there was a lot of space between the signature and where the students were supposed to answer the questions. Was there something missing? Was there something more to this? It clearly seemed to be missing a part, despite the letter being complete; perhaps something that was to be revealed later on? Alan was curiously waiting for the students to start finding their answers and starting to fill in what the letter had asked them to do. Pretty easy of a task. At the end of the room was a door that was currently closed.Dear Reader,
I must have lost track on the information I have been looking for. I require the answers to these three questions, may you be so kind to find them for me? Use the quill to write on the paper, you may use the books as resource if you find yourself stuck;
1.) Which animal is known as the Irish Phoenix? Answer below:
_______________________________________________________
2.) I am looking for the name of the creature which's song will make you go insane:
_______________________________________________________
3.) A Demiguise is known for many things, but why do their eyes turn blue?

There was a certain smugness dancing in Dee's eyes at the fact that she had been chosen to participate in special activities due to her outstanding accomplishments again. That made a total of three times this year (as was only right, of course).
The sun was setting, bathing the grounds in pretty colours, and Dee gifted Opeila and Alan with a bright grin, and reached out to gently tug on a strand of Aurora's hair in greeting before introducing herself to the only new face in the group. She'd seen him around, of course, they shared a common room if not their year, but they'd never talked. "Hi, I'm Dee!" The words were delivered with an enthusiastic smile and a perky little wave. "Let's crush this, yeah?"
Without waiting for much of a response, she pushed the tent flaps aside with a little too much energy, stepping into the small space before stopping to take in her surroundings. Books. Many books. And dust that tickled in her nose, prompting her to reach up and pinch it shut as she located the scroll and crossed the distance with two quick steps.
The seal broken - which required letting go of her nose, but the urge to sneeze was past for the moment - she unrolled it, skimming its content. She tilted her head to one side. "Anyone good with magical creatures who could fill these in?" Her own knowledge of beasts was severely limited, namely to creatures that produced ingredients necessary for potions. That was where her interest began and ended. Showing the scroll to her companions, she gave them an opportunity to give their input, not incredibly eager to search through all those books for the answers.
Instead, her gaze got caught on the empty space right above the signature, and her eyes narrowed. That looked... odd. Intentional. Was there more to be found on this scroll?
Drawing her wand, she pointed it at the scroll and moved it in a vaguely eye-shaped motion. "Revelio," she said carefully, tilting her head to one side as she waited to see if her spell would uncover any secrets.
Action | Cast Revelio at the empty part of the scroll

Opeila was thrilled that she got to participate in this game, as it was not as the others- all participants were invited due to their achievements. An invitation the new third year could hardly miss. The young girl had been put into a team with three Ravenclaws and she knew that at least one was as intelligent as her house promised and nice to have around. Another one was also nice to have around. No offense to Ravenclaws, but the Slytherin had not met many birds she enjoyed spending time with so far.
Excitedly she waved at her three teammates and then joined Dee, who was currently trying to solve their first task. "Magical creatures... Oh! Oh-oh-oh, that's erm..." Opeila gestured with her hands, searching for words. "An Augurey! The first one is an Augurey, I read ahead in Fantastic Beasts. The second is probably a banshee." Opeila could remember that Defense against the Dark Arts class. "And demiguises get blue eyes when they have visions of a potential near future."
The Slytherin took the lantern off the ceiling and held it closer to the parchment, when Dee casted the Revelio Charm. Opeila had been confused about the space between the last question and the signature and apparently so had her classmate.
Action: Answering the questions.

Another adventure. At least this one was not life threatening, she hoped. Even though it might be, some familiar faces made Aurora felt a little bit safe, as she knew how competent the sunlight queen and the Slytherin duelist were. Though there was a boy she did not recognise, perhaps they had crossed each other somewhere but she couldn't remember. Hopefully, magic was his speciality, if not, maybe he was the kind of person whose fist was stronger than metal. The girl would give the prefect and the jeans mate a smile. "H-hi Dee and Opeila!" her eyes then shifted towards the boy. "And hi to you too, I'm Aurora."
As Dee unscrolled the parchment, inside was three questions about the magical creature. Aurora was not much of a reader, so there was no doubt she would not know about those things, or maybe some. The cunning Slytherin must have straight outstanding in her school report, she answered everything like it was nothing, as if she was the book herself. Did she turn the book into a juice and drink it or something? But then she said Banshee. Now that was a creature that left an imprint in Aurora’s mind. The scary sad woman from defense against the dark arts lesson, not the professor, of course. Despite her chaotic demeanour, attentive was the type of student Ravenclaw was. If her brain worked just fine, she was pretty sure that was not the answer. "I am not sure about the first and the third question, but I don't think Banshee will make you go insane. They will straight up kill you with their song." She bit the inside of her mouth as she finally used her brain for something important. "I am pretty sure there's this cute thing I came across in the book, pooper? no. Flu, Floo, FWOOPER! IT IS FWOOPER!" The excitement from remembering the name of the creature made Aurora jumped in place. Hopefully, the ground was strong enough so she wouldn’t make a hole on it. Then she would write down the answers on the scroll, but replaced the banshee with fwooper.

Alan had seen other groups mention the Revelio spell but he hadn't assumed that a lot of the students would actually cast it. @Dealla Prince however seemed to be instantly suspicious of the big gap between the questions and the signature and would attempt to cast the Revealing Charm onto the paper before even bothering to answer the questions or looking for the solution.

As soon as the spell hit the paper it would reveal what was meant to be revealed only after they had answered the questions.Their next task would be revealed but only after @Opeila Winters, with the help of @Aurora Ranvier, would begin to enter the specific answers to the questions, would three little tokens appear next to the paper scroll. They were quite pretty flat stones, smooth on their surface and carefully carved to resemble each of the creatures; a Augurey, a Fwooper and a Demiguise. These little tokens would translate into how many points they had gotten so far, so they should take care and make sure not to lose them. @Lamont Runesby had been tagging along with the group as moral support (not posted, but permission to godmod being present).Dear Reader,

Ah, before I forget; now that you have helped me so much, it is necessary for me to help you proceed on your quest. The door to the next location appears to be locked but I am certain I have seen a key among those books somewhere. Won't you try to find it? If you enter once there is no going back, until you find your way out of course, now adventurer, do you dare venture forth?

Mod Note:
Well done on proceeding to the second part of the first task; this task will be time based, meaning it is relying on your team's averaged Wisdom roll. You may look anywhere within the room; through books, in the shelves and may utilize the objects you find as a way to help; simply be creative in your pursuit of the answer. You can win a total of 1 / One token in that round.

Opeila was surprised about the second year disagreeing, but she was of course right. A banshee did not make a person go insane. Mandrakes could, but those were no creatures, although they looked very much as if they were.
Aurora knew the answer before Opeila could think of it- A fwooper. The Slytherin was impressed, she probably wouldn't have thought of it. She did look through some books about magical creatures before, but she must have skipped the chapter that talked about fwoopers.
Once the answers were written down, three tokens appeared next to the scroll, with an image of the creatures, one on each token.
There was also a new block of text, talking about a locked door and a key among the books. Opeila looked around. Were they supposed to look through the books? She couldn't imagine that.
"So... I guess we'll go through the shelves?", she asked her teammates and walked over to the shelves. There were so many books, they couldn't really expect them to go through all of them, could they? That would be a ridiculously lengthy task. No, maybe... Opeila looked upwards. She couldn't quite reach high enough to look on top of the shelf, but maybe...
Carefully straightening a pile of books, she climbed on top to see if there was anything on the shelves.
Action: Climbing onto a pile of books to search on top of the shelves.

“Okay this is starting to get suspicious.” The oblivious researcher surely was oblivious. Aurora had enough with the cryptic messages and all that but still continued to do whatever the letter told her to do. Beware to the researcher, once they are meeting the girl face to face, their life will be in her hands. What a lazy person, search your own key! “Is there a trap? We are going to be fine, right?” Of course everything inside the room was a trap, she was inside an escape room that she had signed up for herself after all. Honestly, Hogwarts as a castle was the giant trap filled with the unknowns lurking in the dark, this was nothing new.
As Opeila stacked books after books so she could check the top of the shelves, the Ravenclaw decided to do what the letter said, which was checking all of the books for keys after the Slytherin is done with her thing, of course. As wicked as Aurora can be, she would not do anything to hurt anyone who was kind enough to her unprovoked. “Dear, mysterious key, come out and play!” She said, as she flipped through the pages and tried to get anything out of the books by holding their cover pages one by one and forcefully and aggressively shook them downwards. That should work, right?

With no small amount of satisfaction, Dee watched as the additional block of text appeared on the letter - only to make a face and pout slightly when she realised it didn't contain an additional riddle at all. Just instructions to find a key, which they'd likely have found out anyway.
The answers that Opeila and Aurora had come up with proved correct, however, and Dealla curiously nudged the tokens that appeared with the tip of her finger, then picked them up and slipped them into her pocket before turning towards the rest of the room, frowning.
The other two girls were starting to follow the instructions and search for the key, and Dee once again cursed herself for not getting Ileen to teach her that summoning spell. Although, perhaps that would have been too obvious, surely the key would be protected against summoning attempts. On the other hand, it would show that they were smart. What did manually going through the shelves prove? Was there a point to this task beyond being tedious?
Frowning slightly, Dee turned towards the door, inspecting it. Did they really need a key at all?
Suddenly feeling terribly smart, certain she'd figured out the true purpose of the task (unlikely), Dealla picked up the small lantern, then walked a few quick steps over to the door. Had anyone really tested whether it was locked? And if it was... did it have to stay that way?
Action | Try to open the door. If locked, cast Alohomora.
