Gaia ran up to the Owlery as soon as the Sorting Ceremony feast ended to send off the letter she had written to her mother and younger brother while finishing up her dessert at the Hufflepuff table.

The letter read:

"Dear Mother and Micah,
I made it to Hogwarts without a hitch and have had made some new acquittances already!

The Sorting Hat placed me in Hufflepuff, and I am very excited to see my new common room and dormitory.

I believe you were right, mother, the Sorting Hat placed me in Hufflepuff, and I think I will flourish in this house, as the other students seem to have similar interests and ambitions.

I wanted to send a quick letter to let you and Micah know that I made it safe, and am beginning my journey here at Hogwarts, just like you and Papa did when you were my age!

Thank you for all your love and encouragement, I could not have made it here without it!

Gaia."

Gaia tied the letter to a carried owl's foot and asked the bird to take it to her mother. Without any direction, the owl took off out the window of the owlery tower and into the night.
