Late Evening
When Cash thought it was just them and Aurora that took the Southern Entrance, they thought wrong as another student joined the much safer path. As safe as it could get, this is Hogwarts we talking about. Every corner and turned the castle has, it always filled with danger. As Aurora still wearing the dirty bucket like it some kind of helmet, Cash approached the new girl.

"Hey,"Cash greeted the girl as friendly as they can get. Doing small talk were not their strong suit among other thing. "Want to joined me with Aurora?"They inquired the other girl. Surely three heads are better than one and in this type of setting, anything could happen. Cash gave a moment for the other girl to gave her reply to the green eyes.

Whether Amelia accepted the alliance or not, the third year Slytherin Beater walked up to Aurora again. As the two of them walked, the path quickly arched to the left. Both of the Quidditch players encased by a dense hedges as both Cash and Auror walked much deeper into the maze. The fog and tight turns they must face did not help one bit.

As the fog getting thicker, it was challenging to see a few paces. Cash itched to took their wand and castrd a wand lightning spell but they refrained doing that spell until is needed in case they face much more dire situation than ominous thick fog. It feel like forever but in reality, Cash just walked for some time until they saw a path opened for them.

The path opened into a small fork. They had a choice to continued their walked either left, where a new path just opened which still filled with fog, straight, or they could go back before it is too late for either the three of them. As the green eyes contemplated which path they should take, they faintly hear a soft twang of music.

Who in their right mind would play a music under thick fog the young Ironwoods thought to themselves. The faint sound of a solemn violin gave more eerie vibe and suddenly their nape hair stood up. Did Cash felt frightened? Absolutely not but that was a lie. Their hearts beat fast. Cash tried to calm themselves down by inhaling as much air as possible into their lungs.

A cold sweat running down their back, their hands are clammy and cold. The soon to be third year averted their eyes from the thick fog that obscure their view to their partner for this eerie adventure that Cash had a slight regret signed up for, "So,"They said to Aurora. It is quite clear that their voices trembled when they were talking to the pink - purple haired girl.

But if Amelia or Aurora asked if the situation spooked the Cuban descendant, out they will lie about it. "Which path do you both think we should take?"Cash asked to both Amelia and Aurora, hoping the younger girls will brave this menacing maze together with Cash until the end. At this point they did not care whether they are the fastest or not.

All they care is to get out from this maze alive and still in one piece. "But if you want to do this alone, it is okay too"They expressed. Cash did not want to pushed their decision to the other two girls if both Amelia and Aurora decided to took a separate way from the young socialite.

Whether Amelia and Aurora followed Cash's path or not, finally the green eyes decided to walk the new path way hoping Amelia and Aurora did the same thing too.

“Take your pick”

What Aurora had learned about Hogwarts outside the scary monster and high death rate was the fact that angels are everywhere. One of them was in the form of the strong and nice Slytherin beater. But nobody is perfect, and Cassandra’s flaws shone through the darkness, which was asking Aurora to choose which chocolates she wanted. Bold of her assume she would be able to do something so complicated and hard like that. Brown eyes stared at the various kinds of heaven in a package, it felt unreal, am I dreaming? “THE-THESE ARE FOR ME!?” The pink haired girl rubbed her eyes a couple of times, and the chocolates were still there, did not even budge an inch. “I can’t pick, so EVERYTHING!” She would grab all of those beautiful sweets and hugged them with one arm while the other clutched on the older student’s hand. Why is everyone criticize almost everything that Aurora did? In her defence, the surrounding was way too dark to even notice the state of the bucket which according to Cash was dirty. Clearly, she has not seen the state of the young eagle’s dormitory, because if she did, she would think that bucket was spotless. “Ah, now that you mentioned it-“ Unfortunately for the Slytherin, her argument entered Aurora’s left ear then came out from the right. Instead of listened to the reasons why she should not do what she did, she put her chocolates inside the bucket, then wear it again as a hat. “-now it’s better! More security for my head and the chocolates!”

What could be better than a combination of a maze, the darkness, the fog, and violin sound? In a normal situation, Aurora would have been able to appreciate the beautiful sound of the strings. Though, there was no such a thing as a normal situation in Hogwarts. “We are going to die! WE ARE SO GOING TO DIE!” That sentence was not intended to be spoken out loud, but she could not help it. Good thing she was with two other students there. “I- I meant- I will follow you, anywhere, hopefully back to the cabin, but sure, wherever.” Still clutched on Cash’s hand, she used her free one to grab a self protection weapon. A pepper spray, surely superior to the wand that often betrayed her. She pointed it outward, ready to spray whatever lurking in the dark.

It wasn't long before Rett taking his leave from the main party that Theo caught up with him, rolling his eyes slightly, but honestly he didn't mind the company. "You're just worried that without me you would never make it out alive." He bumped his shoulder playfully into his friend's shoulder. "I'm not going to hold your hand through the maze. You know how I get about stuff like this." One of this long time friends, Theo would've been witness to many a mental challenge that Rett put himself through in school. It gave him a special type of thrill that was unmatched.

As they went down the path the smell of watermelon lingered strongly, so strongly in fact that when coming up on diverging roads one continued the smell while the other left it behind. The watermelon sweetness seemed too good to be true, or perhaps it would be fine and it was meant to make them question themselves? Rett was strongly stuck between the two. It was then his ears caught something else. "Do you hear that?" Without an extra thought, his feet turned and guided him towards the probably foreboding rumbling down the road. He wanted to win this, even if that meant making choices that seemed like they could ultimately be the wrong ones. He had found that usually those had the best outcomes.

Theo grinned when Rett accused him of being scared not to make it out alive on his own. "Rett, there is no need to project feelings... it's ok to be scared.", he teased back. The Thunderbird stumbled to the side a little, when Rett bumped his shoulder into Theo's.

He klicked his tongue with a disappointed expression on his face when Rett told him that he wouldn't hold his hand. "Ugh, darn, shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. Alright, are we going to follow the... wonderful watermelon smell or-" Theo was interrupted by Rett's question if he had heard something. "I- yeah, but- Alright, path to hell it is." He shook his head before he followed his friend towards the noise, his hand placed on his wand.

"Sure the watermelon path wasn't the better choice?" It was not like Theo was scared, but the rumbling noise sounded kind of... unpleasant. Whereas the sweet watermelon smell... Watermelon was a nice idea actually, maybe he would see if he could get some anywhere in the camp. It was hot, surely they had some around? If they managed to get a foodtruck, surely watermelon was no problem. Checking his surroundings again and again, Theo followed Rett deeper into the maze.

@Lily Cooper

Motivation can come in many forms and for young Lily it would be the pursuit of the glorious Blueberry who seemed intrigued by watermelon scents. The path would twist and turn for Lily. Eventually, the narrow corridor would reach a fork. One path turned sharply to the left and the other path gently curved to the right. There wasn’t anything inherently different between the paths at first glance. But keen ears might hear a soft rumbling noise coming from the right path.

Lily- Available Directions: Turn Left, Turn Right or Go Back.

It seemed that Everett had the curiosity of a honed squirrel. With the sounds from the path to the right, there was no stopping the boy as he chose his path with admirable bravery. Theodore seemed unwilling to be left on his own in the dark maze and followed suit. Everett would not have to walk too far. The path weaved around a corner and he would step into a small dead-end chamber. At first, there was nothing. Even the sound of the rustling seemed to halt. But within an instant, the empty chamber erupted with life.

Long roots and vines from the enchanted hedges shot out towards Everett like the tentacles of a Kraken looking to drag her to unknown depths. The binding roots were fast, launching through the air with ease to fill the small chamber as the tendrils inched closer to the boy. But that was as easy for Everett to avoid as a marmot on the prairie with a five-gallon hat! As the roots shot towards him, he would be able to deftly back peddle and duck away back into the corridor. Moving out of the dead-end chamber, he was out of the reach of the squirming roots that began slithering back around the hedge.

Theodore was fast in his reaction. Very fast but the roots proved faster. Just before breaking to freedom, the roots would bind his ankles and drag him to the ground. Slowly, the plants began dragging Theodore towards the hedge wall.

Everett - Available Directions: Go back the way you came or enter the dead-end chamber again

Theodore - Is bound at the ankles and being dragged slowly towards the back of the chamber

@Nicholas McCowan

The prospect of facing the unpredictable maze alone was undoubtedly a daunting prospect, but what choice did Nicholas have. After a moment, it seemed that the boy had gathered his composure enough to press forward. He made the wise decision to cast Lumos, giving him some much-needed light in the otherwise dark corridors. Alone with nothing but his thoughts, Nicholas would start down the left path.

With Lumos now giving them enough light to see the walls of the maze, they continued down the path. But it did not continue for long before reaching another branching path. Their current path seemed to continue in some ways, farther than they could see even with the light. But there was now a path waiting for them to the left. However...that was not all. Due to his light, he would be able to see a slightly covered entrance. Leaves lightly covered most of the entrance to the right but if they crouched down, they would be able to crawl their way through the small secret entrance. What lay on the other side? Only one way to find out.

As they arrived at the fork, however, the boy would notice something that sat just inside the left path. Resting on the ground, barely propped up against the side of the left path was an old teddy bear. Its head drooped to one side and it stared blankly at the other wall. It did not move or look outwardly dangerous. Perhaps it was just Eliseo’s comfort bear, lost in the madman’s maze.

Southern Route

@Cassandra Ironwoods, @Aurora Ranvier

While Cassandra seemed, at least outwardly, to be remaining calm. There was a bit more panic with her companion. But there was likely a good justification for such things but perhaps singing a little song might help while wandering in the darkness! Regardless, the pair decided they would try their luck by turning left. Into the dark fog they moved, hoping that they had made the right decision.

The path would twist and turn several times as it led the pair through the darkness. There were no deadends thus far. But after a short while, it seemed that the hedges began to form a small canopy above them, almost like a tunnel of dark green. As the students continued to move, the roof of the tunnel would get lower and lower. With no stars or moonlight breaking through the canopy, it would be pitch black inside as the students moved.

After following the hedge tunnel for some time, Cassandra would collide with one of the walls that she could not see with Aurora bumping into her from behind. Somewhere to the left, in the darkness, there was low laughter for a few moments that quickly faded. If the students felt around in the dark, they would find that the path broke off into left or right. But both new paths would require the students to crawl deeper into the dark hedge tunnel. The entrance to each side stood no taller than waist height and in the complete darkness, there was no telling how long it might go.

You keep following her. You call her several times but nothing happens. Blueberry keeps walking until the first fork in the road. There she turns around and waits for you. You breathe a sigh of relief before taking her in your arms.
- Okay, Blueberry. Now you stay with me and don't go away.
This is not where you wanted to go. You wanted to take the Southern Entrance. So since you have a choice... You turn around. And you walk briskly back to your starting point.
You don't want Blueberry to escape to the imaginary watermelons again. So when you get to the entrance of the maze, you tell him to leave. And for once, she obeys. You think you know why: Blueberry and the corridors are not the greatest love. That's why Blueberry rubs up against you a bit before heading off to the cabin.
- Well, I have one more thing to do, then.
You look carefully at the South Entrance, hoping to see a clue. But nothing. Just a corridor, empty and dark. "But it's better than an escaped cat or imaginary watermelons," you say to yourself to reassure yourself. And then it's true. You honestly don't know what happened to the others who went looking for the watermelons.

Amelia had only just started walking down the path when someone came up to her to ask if she was interested in joining her and Aurora, who Amelia guessed was the girl wearing the bucket as some sort of hat. "Yeah sure, I'd be happy to join you both. I'm Amelia," She introduced herself. Three people working together was definitely better than one, especially in terms of safety and since this was Hogwarts the term 'it's better to be safe than sorry' was more than true. The further she walked into the maze, the creepier it got. The fog was so thick that the young Hufflepuff could barely see in front of her. The entire atmosphere really made the hair on her neck stand up. Feeling that she'd be more safer with her wand in her hand, she rummaged through her bag and pulled it out. Clutching her wand in her hand she ventured further into the maze with the two other students.

Soon, the path opened onto a small fork. Amelia studied the two paths that they could take carefully, desperately not wanting to make the wrong choice and accidentally walk onto the path with giant spiders. Shuddering at the thought, she quickly pushed it to the back of her mind, it wouldn't do her no good to worry about giant spiders now when there was no real danger yet. Wait, what was that noise? It seemed there was some violin music coming from the path directly in front of them. Oh, absolutely not, that is definitely too eerie and downright terrifying. Violin music was usually relaxing, but when you're in a strange maze with who knows what around you, the music did not seem so relaxing.

"Which path do you think we should take?"

Well, that was a great question. Amelia was definitely more leaning toward the left path since it didn't look any different from the path that they had just walked, even though the fog did make Amelia's hands sweat a bit. What could possibly be in the fog? "I vote we take the-" Amelia had never got the chance to finish her sentence, as the pink-purple haired girl with a bucket on her head had screamed, "We are going to die! WE ARE SO GOING TO DIE!" Amelia wanted to reassure her but truthfully, she was indeed terrified herself. She still clutched her wand in her slightly sweaty hand. Aurora had the wonderful idea of bringing pepper spray, even though she was a witch with a wand that was probably able to protect you more than some pepper spray, "I really really hope that whatever lies in this maze can be easily defeated by pepper spray." She chuckled softly before following the two students onto the left path.

Instantly Nicholas was grateful that he had cast the lighting charm, the maze seemed a lot less daunting when he wasn't alone in it. Still, he was on edge, and his steps were far slower and more measured than they would have been otherwise. He was hardly confident, and the odd branch or twig that tugged at his shirt only made him jump all the more. Fortunately, his trek through the side-path was short, for not long after he had taken it did he find himself at yet another fork in the road. Another chance to fork away beckoned, and Nicholas found himself inclining his head to examine the pathway, examining the two options that lay before him. He could continue forward, or take yet another chance to move from the beaten track, another fork.

The thoughts ran through his head for the briefest of moments, but they barely had a chance to coalesce into more than cloudy tangents before the sight of the teddy-bear evaporated all logical reasoning. It was entirely out of place, entirely absurd, and as such was entirely dangerous. Nicholas stepped backwards, instinctively, before steeling himself. Generally, items found in hedge mazes were clues, were they not?

With the thought of clues now his most pressing concern, the boy shot his head from side to side, using his wand to illuminate anything that may relate to the bear. Perhaps there was a bear-shaped lock somewhere and the toy was a key. It was an absurd notion, yes, but Hogwarts was an absurd school. What he found instead of a peculiar shaped keyhole, however, was another path. To the right there was a small passageway, one that would require him to crouch through. He blinked, as if convincing himself he was imagining it, before the concrete evidence of the passage's existence finally solidified in his mind. Well, hot damn.

The boy crouched and stared into the leaves and darkness. He hardly wanted to be on his hands and knees trudging through the dirt in an exposed position, especially given the fact that the maze had already proven itself capable of shifting and moving with the closing of the entrance behind him. But, the pathway had been kept out of sight, and that generally meant that it was worth investigating. With a grunt, and no further fuss, he forced himself through the hole.

His heart still beat mercilessly in worry, but at least he was capable of some measure of control over his panic. One of the few emotions he could manage. Ignoring the peculiar bear, he pressed on.

The young Thunderbird could only finish the question he had asked his friend before long roots and vines shot out of the hedges and towards the two boys. Rett reacted quickly, as did Theo to evade the plants. "Called it.", Theo teased, still a little startled by the sudden attack, but it wasn't like he didn't enjoy this little adventure. If only Greta had seen this move... Hold up, what did it matter?

It seemed he had believed himself to be victorious to quickly. Something closed around his ankles, pulling the young boy off his feet. His wand fell out of his hand and he could only grab it again quickly before the roots dragged him away, towards the back of the chamber. "Ugh... Alright, I could use a little help here, Rett... Please?" He pointed his wand downwards, only hoping not to cut his own leg in the process, getting dragged away made it a little hard to aim properly. "Diffindo!", he shouted.

Well... maybe it was good after all that Greta was not here to witness this. It was embarassing. Honestly, it was so typical him to claim victory before it was even in his reach, at least that was what he was sure his sister would have told him now.

@Lily Cooper

After fetching her Blueberry, it seemed that Lily had no desire to see what spooky things were hiding in the Northern path. So she made her way quickly back to the starting point to peer at the entrances one more. She would be faced with the familiar decision of either choosing the North or South paths. It would be up to her, but it seemed that she was wishing to try her luck at the southern path

Lily- Available Directions: Re-enter Northern Route or Take Southern Entrance

Everett Brooks (@Willow Anderson) (did not post), Theodore Duncain (@Opeila Winters)

With Theodore bound and being pulled by the vines closer and closer to the back wall of the chamber. With each passing moment the situation was growing more dire and more vines and roots were finding their way around the boy’s legs and torso. Almost fumbling his wand, Theo was able to gain control of his mind and focus long enough to cast Diffindo.

The spell worked to perfection and quickly slashed at most of the plants that had entangled the boy’s legs. Almost in a sudden fear, the rest of the roots and vines seemed to slither away from Theo and returned to the hedges. Bringing a disquieting quiet to the chamber.

The hedges behind Everett suddenly began to close, breaking the silence with a loud rumble. Roots and vines grabbed and pulled the path closed, cutting off the path back to where they had started. Simultaneously, the dead end’s back wall began to move. The leaves rustled and shifted as they opened up a small doorway. It seemed that the maze was determined to bring the pair forward and through its new doorway. After the moments of loud movement and rustling, the hedges finally settled.

@Nicholas McCowan

Nicholas seemed to be keeping his bravery up as he travelled alone through the dark and curious maze. And with a secret path, the ever-changing middle route seemed to allow his curiosity to get the better of him. Who wouldn’t want to crawl into the secret tunnel? But after some careful thinking and clever theories, Nicholas decided he would try his luck at the hidden passage.

It was tight but he would make it through to the other side. He found himself in a small roomlike chamber. At the center of the chamber was a small wooden table with four rocks sitting on it. With the light from the boy’s wand, they would be able to see little faces painted on each of the rocks but no other information. They appeared to be solidly made rock friends but it would be unclear what the little rocks were doing. Perhaps they were having a little rock meeting... On the far end of the chamber was another hole in the wall of the hedges. Based on the height, the students would have to crawl into the tunnel which appeared to be pitch black inside. A wooden sign sat above the tunnel and read ‘The Friendship Tunnel’ in oddly squiggly writing.

@Amelia Faye

After being left behind by her companions, Amelia was quick to follow the path that they had started down. Not wasting any more time, the girl would quickly begin moving down the left path after them.

The path would twist and turn several times as it led the girl through the darkness. There were no deadends thus far. But after a short while, it seemed that the hedges began to form a small canopy above her, almost like a tunnel of dark green shifting leaves. As the student continued to move, the roof of the tunnel would get lower and lower. With no stars or moonlight breaking through the canopy, it would be pitch black inside as the girl moved.

After following the hedge tunnel for some time, Amelia would bump into the two other girls still standing in the darkness. Perhaps they would be a bit safer traveling together. Somewhere to the left, in the darkness, there was low laughter for a few moments that quickly faded. If the students felt around in the dark, they would find that the path broke off into left or right. But both new paths would require the students to crawl deeper into the dark hedge tunnel.
