A Honeymoon Trip - To The Lake Finished

Goodnight with @Haley Rose

"Good to know," he said, growing quiet. There were some faint sounds around them, the wind blowing through the trees in the Forbidden Forest, some soft hooting of owls up in the owlery within the school. The wind, while just a slight breeze, was still enough to gently cause small waves within the Great Lake that could be heard. It was all very calming and sort of lulled them into the night.

This probably wouldn't be a night that Simon would find any sleep but he was okay with that. Haley could sleep and he would stand guard. He would keep her safe as she had just helped him feel safe within his true self with her. He was very grateful for that moment and appreciated it more than she knew. It was nice to have someone so close to you know what you are and not think of you as a monster. It helped him not to think of himself as a monster.

Certainly that night he would be no monster of any kind. He would be her protector. He would stay there, close with her, just listening to the hushed sounds around him as the world and his life seemed to feel at peace.

He didn't realize all the hardship that Haley had faced earlier that Summer at her grandfather's house and Haley didn't know all the thoughts that swam in his mind about the late night visitor back at his home in South Kensington. For now, it was just the two of them - together in the stillness of the night.

As her breathing started to grow more relaxed, more shallow, more rhythmic, he leaned down to kiss the top of her head. "Goodnight, Hales," he whispered.

Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)

Haley did not know she was tired. But as she lay there on the soft grass, protected by Simon's embrace and closed eyes, she quickly fell asleep. Her breathing slowed and deepened and she drifted into a deep sleep. Here and there she twitched slightly, but most of the time she lay still.

At some point she started to get a little more restless and finally woke up. Sleepily she blinked a few times until she realised where she was. With a sleepy look she looked at Simon, "Wow, I hadn't realised I was so tired." She joked softly, rubbing her eyes. She didn't know how long she had dozed off, but it probably hadn't been too long.

The cold had kicked in by now and she began to shiver slightly and goosebumps spread up her arms. "Can't wait for the real summer." She remarked as she sat up and rubbed her arms to warm herself up a little. As much as she would still stay here with Simon, it wasn't the smartest idea and she knew it. "I think we should go to the castle." She finally said, sadly nonetheless.

She stood up from the meadow, held out her hand to Simon and glanced around nervously a few times, they hadn't been caught yet and that was how it was going to stay hopefully. Quietly, she would walk with Simon into the castle and try to get into their dormitories unnoticed.
