Quietly, Hugh would stare down the corridor. Several students had passed him by just this morning, a handful giving him odd looks for chilling on his own. Others had been too invested in their daily socialities or had their noses stuck in a book. Tsk tsk, dangerous to not be paying attention to your surrounding as you were wandering about. Especially in this castle. Its inhabitants ranged from monstrous to mad. Some both. Not to mention the evil that lurked on the grounds surrounding it.

On top of that... there was one matter that drew the part-giant's attention more than anything. SCAR and their involvement with his kind. How they were being portrayed as villains and scum. The attack on the ballroom being one instance in this very castle that caused others to hesitate whenever they saw his looming figure pass them in the halls. Just like he was waiting for another figure just like that.

They were not the only part-giants attending this school. But they had been the most... active. Hugh had been a prefect for a short stint, @Quinn Healy was one right now. Together they could likely make a difference. What change this would cause, Hugh had no idea. But something needed to be done. He recalled on owl he once sent to his fellow part-giant. But somehow their meeting had not occurred. Ever since they both had fallen victim to attack. Quinn more than him. Hugh lowered his head in shame as he remembered the last ball. How he had not interfered with Erin and Kyle attacking the other part-giant. Speaking of the mad and the monstrous...

Hugh folded both arms and leaned against one of the windows. The soft trickling of rain helped in calming him down. A gentle rhythm showing him the pace he should keep. It was important to keep his cool. The stakes were slowly rising and time seemed to be running short. There was only so much the staff of Hogwarts could possibly do. They shielded students like him from harm whenever they caught wind of any discrimination or assault. But sometimes there were just not enough eyes. He just didn't want things to escalate further. If someone started pointing fingers at either him or Quinn or any of the others, then shit would likely hit the fan.

Quinn as always had a lot on his mind. Between Quidditch, his deteriorating home life (thanks dad!), the paper, and his growing anxiety of the future. Well things were just peachy. Heck everything going on in more recent times concerning what he is. Well yeah that's a whole nother can of worms. He easily navigated around students mostly on auto pilot.

Of course this line of thinking was broken when he noticed a fellow Part-Giant. One who in many ways he was envious of. He didn't know him well but at the very least it seemed like he didn't have to deal with as much as Quinn had to put up with. He also hadn't forgotten how he didn't intervene in the previous year's ball though...he was sure Hugh had their reasons. At this, he stopped in front of Hugh raising his right brow in genuine curiosity.

"Hugh? Well ah'll be? Seems like ah don't see ye much?" He gave a half smile folding his arms and standing just in front of him. Unlike a majority of the students. Quinn didn't tower over Hugh, sure he was taller but they were relatively close in height. Which was rather comforting. "How are ye?" Large blue eyes curiously scanned the fellow part-giant. As always his curiosity got the better of him along with the genuine want to chat with him.

“You don't see me much, because I don't like being seen.” Hugh snapped back at the older giant. It wasn't that he was taking offence, he just didn't like how both of them were practically meant to be seen from a distance. Their height choosing for them. Quinn was also taller than him, which made him feel uncomfortable. It was rare for him to find himself at a disadvantage in height towards anyone. It took another giant to bring him down a little. “Well, I'm not fine. If that's what you're after.” He clarified, as if his initial response hadn't been indicating as much.

The younger giant stood there, arms folded and glaring eyes, looking up at the ginger badger. “I wanted to talk about us giants. Well, part-giants. I'm no full-blood and neither are you, else we wouldn't be here learning 'bout magic and stuff.” His eyes rolled as accepted the fact he was stating the obvious now. “What I'm getting at, is that ever since a couple of giants attacked the school. People don't really warm up to us.” He looked away and buried his hands in his pockets. “Not that I need that, but I'd prefer them to not suspect me of biting their heads off all the time.”

“We need to address this somehow, Quinn. Make it a point that we, part-giants, aren't the villains they are trying to make us. In the school papers, they warned everyone about us. Why the hell would they do that if they weren't scared, huh?” A long, slender finger pointed up towards the badger's head. “Think about why the likes of Erin Ryan seek to attack us. They don't even try to hide it any more. You got attacked at a ball!”

'Someone's a bit snippy today.' He internally mused, and looked down at Hugh. While clearly not towering over the younger Part-Giant. He was both taller and overall larger. Out of mental habit and consideration for the rude, Hugh. Quinn made a obvious show of him hunching over and bending his knees a bit until he was basically eye level with Hugh.

It didn't take a genius or high skills of observation to notice that Hugh seemed uncomfortable. Quinn had a love for people watching since he could first remember things. He learned to pick up on things to the point it was almost automatic for him at this point. He doesn't verbally say any of this of course but he chooses to let his actions speak.

He visibly tensed at the mention of the attack and narrowed his eyes, "No danks to you, Hugh." His tone was firm and sharp despite the thick accent. "Dahn't dink I dedn't 'ear abooeht you bein dere at de ball. Seein what was goin ahn and joehst watchin." Clear anger seeped into his voice, his body still tense. Moments later he let out a slow drawn out breath. Closed his eyes and then inhaled opening them again to stare at Hugh.

"Dahn't be a fool either. Dey've always desliked oehs. At least de pure bloods, raised by deir 'ypahcritical and prejudicial parents. I bet it was pure blood who wrahte dat damned artecle too. So dahn't tell me what i already know. Now den if you want to talk to me, get whatever's crawled oehp yooehr ass and died. Throw it ooeht and let's be civil abooeht dis ahr i'm leavin 'ere and now." With a huff he once again straightened his back and stood above Hugh extending his hand for a shake. A proper way to greet.

He flashed a grin and began to relax. He said what he wanted to say and was proud that he didn't get overly emotional or project. Just saying what was on his mind.

3) Don't be a fool either. They've always disliked us. At least the pure bloods, raised by their hypocritical and prejudicial parents. I bet it was pure blood who wrote that damned article too. So don't tell me what I already know. Now then if you want to talk to me, get whatever's crawled up your ass and died. Throw it out and let's be civil about this or I'm leaving here and now.

“Civil?” Hugh's eyebrow twitched as he gave Quinn a deadpan stare. This was precisely why giants never managed to gather their forces. They always ended up in a plethora of arguments and fights, their short fuses exploding tons upon tons of rage. And when the smoke finally cleared, there usually was only one left standing. “You're not listening, Healy.” Hugh added abruptly. He wasn't. He was just riling himself up because Hugh left him behind at the ball.

“Forget the ball, Healy. We're not partners yet, as far as us goes, we're just of the same kin, that's about it. There's not even blood involved there.” He straightened his back and rose against the other giant. Quinn should not forget he was dealing with a member of the Hogwarts house for the brave… or foolish. “Don't try to play smart. We're both just as up-to-speed as the other. What we lack, is a plan.” Hugh backed up and started leaning against the wall.

“I think we should join SCAR.” He began carefully, holding out a halting hand if the other giant were to react. “Just think about it. They are currently fighting the every fight I just brought up. They deal with our situation across the world, UK at the very least.” They could learn from that, learn how to get others involved make the fight bigger, make people see where they are wrong.

“But things will need to be balanced. If we push too hard, they will only see us as the giant walking boxes of dynamite they already portray us to be.” It was true, they expected aggression, they would need to circumvent that, and if ever there would come a person that sought to collide, they'd need to deflect rather than confront. Or else, they would only make their situation a lot worse than it already is. He imagined themselves caged in a shack, like they did the werewolves.

"It's Quinn. Do not call me Healy...please. Everyone calls my father Healy or Mr. Healy. Just Quinn, please." His voice started out cold with a hint of anger in it before quickly softening in demeanor and tone. He coughed a tad embarrassed at his short snap.

Quinn frowned when the organization SCAR had been brought up. "And here I ye just came for some friendly conversation." He let out a noticeable and heavier handed sigh, before a smile came to his lips and he thought. He let the boy's words sink in for a good solid minute, remaining silent the whole time.

"...Have ye thought about what happens if this somehow backfires. How this could mess up our lives and negatively affect the ones we care aboot? Ah'm not saying I'm against this, in truth ah don't disagree with what they stand for. However, as ye said we need a plan and we really need to think this through. Ah'm not gonna make a half cocked decision again. And ah refuse to give those that discriminate against me and those like us any more ammunition to use." He finally said, smile fading into a half smile while he looked rather serious.

"So what do you propose Hugh? And how about a smile eh? Feels weird with me being the only one trying to make nice. We're soon to be friends ain't we? Might as well make this serious talk a little fun." He chuckled. His arms were folded and he had slouched back down to make himself appear taller and more eye level with Hugh.

"I'll smile when I feel like it, Quinn." It felt odd saying the boy's name, they weren't friends. "SCAR's operating in and around London mostly, they're still bound to magical law to an extent though, they'd have to keep the secrecy intact to protect the wizarding world. So Diagon Alley is likely where they'd be based." Hugh explained with a matter-of-fact tone to his voice. He had been thinking this through.

"Now, we're not going anywhere near London soon, unless we dedicate the holidays for such a trip. Sorry to say, I'm not planning on going on a date here, Quinn. I'm sure you're 'nice' enough." He took a breath and tried to see if any of the nearby students had started to wander a bit too close for his liking. After finding that they hadn't, he turned his head back to the larger boy. Which still felt weird, he was not going to get used to looking up. "So, we send them a letter. Ask one of them to meet us in Hogsmeade. We're students of Hogwarts, all the profs keep going on about how we're the "next generation of wizards" so I bet they'd want to meet some people who will be living in the future wizarding world."

"After we get their attention, and their interest, we're pretty much in and can help out other people like us. I'm sure SCAR must have plans or programs to help folk like us. What'd you think?" He'd catch himself staring desperately at the other boy. The fact that he really wanted this was only making things worse for him. He felt like the whole world didn't get what was happening. Sure, there was plenty wrong with Hogwarts in terms of hags. But there was no safe and nice future ahead with what people had been writing in the school newspapers.

Quinn furrowed his brow, listening to Hugh. He folded his arms staring down at the fellow Part Giant. He made good sense and for all of Quinn's earlier statements, he understood the sentiment and even agreed. Hells, it could possibly help with his end goals and at the very least Quinn wasn't just going to let Hugh do this on his own. He had enough of that in his laugh so drowning out the unanimous nos going on in his head.

"I can't fault your logic and hell Hugh we gotta stick together. So I've got your back, on this. I'm sick of the looks and if ah'm bein honest. I don't trust the professors to exactly do right by us." He lowered his voice eyes darkening. "I've had enough disappoint from adults in my life as is. So when and how are we going about this? I'm all about charging in but caution is good sometimes. I trust you Hugh but I don't got reason to trust them yet silly as tha tlogic sounds." He chuckled grinning still keeping his voice lowered.

He offered his hand out again, "So we partners in this buddy?" He quirked a brow, "Cause if we're doing this, then we're seeing it through right?"

"Right." Hugh nodded in agreement. One step closer to getting their own cell up and running. The young part-giant was sure of the cause, the world could use a little changing for the better. And two giants could lift a lot of weight around for people. With Quinn being a big boy even for folks of their kin, they were sure to draw attention. Not necessarily bad… but it was an extra kick people could use in the fight.

"I'll catch up with you at another time then. Get that letter written or… seek for other opportunities. We'll see what comes up in the future." Hugh said, trying to bring across some semblance of confidence and secrecy. "Avoid Erin, don't get killed." He saluted before turning on his heel and making his way past some first years running down the hallway. A figure like Hugh, much like Quinn would not disappear into the crowd. Rather, they would eventually become one with the pillars within the architecture, one of many trees in a forest.

From what he gathered on Quinn, the ginger giant had a mean streak of violence. Durmstrang had paid the price, or so was the word at least. Temper was a tricky thing to control, but if you can't control it, might just be able to direct it to a just cause. And that made Hugh think of them as two of a kind.

Leaves thread unless stopped.
